00:00 There's often a case with the Friars, I'm looking at Dean Howsam across the board now, it's in the family, it's in the blood, it's in your genes, as indeed with you and your dad, amongst Grand Prix and TT as well.
00:13 To a good standard, your father's a big Friar. But do you think there's an advantage having that background or do you think it's just inevitable as a youngster you would end up racing?
00:26 I don't know, I think it is definitely something that's in your blood. My dad actually didn't want me to race at all, didn't want me to do anything to do with racing, pushed me into football, cricket, golf of all things, which I hate.
00:43 Hate's probably a strong word, but yeah, I'm not a fan of golf, darts, anything that he could do to keep me away from pike racing to be honest. But yeah, I just wanted to race bikes, right from being a kid I wanted to race bikes.
00:58 So, like my dad, it's his fault, I'm headstrong, if I want to do something I end up doing it. I had a full focus on what I wanted to do and I made it happen initially without his help.
01:11 And then because I was doing it anyway, he then kind of gave in and conceded and said, well, if you're going to do it anyway, I'll help you to do it.
01:19 So, yeah, I'm pretty proud of it.
