00:00 Happy Wednesday to all of us, I am Benny Son, Estareja.
00:04 Today, May 29, 2024, Wednesday, the rain has started or declared the beginning of the rainy season or "tagulan" in our country.
00:14 So it means that the rains will be more frequent, especially in the western sections of Luzon and Visayas.
00:20 And some of the possible weather systems are the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, Intertropical Convergence Zone, especially in the part of Mindanao.
00:27 We also have a possible frontal system in the north, and we are not losing the chance of low-pressure areas and tropical cyclones or storms in the next 4 to 5 months.
00:38 We also have what we call "monsoon breaks" or times where we don't experience any rain for a few days and the weather will remain hot and humid for 4 to 5 months.
00:48 That's why it's always good to release updates of the forecast.
00:52 At the moment, the Philippine Area of Responsibility is also out. We are monitoring this, Typhoon Agon with international name Iwinyar, as of 12 in the afternoon.
01:01 And as of 4pm, it is at more than 1,200km northeast of extreme northern Luzon, heading to the eastern coast of Japan.
01:10 Meanwhile, this Typhoon Agon has no direct effect, but part of it is being strengthened by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, especially in the western section of our country.
01:20 So, this means that from now until tomorrow, most of our country will still experience heavy rainfall.
01:26 The Southwest Monsoon is sometimes weak to strong, and there are also some storms.
01:32 This is not because of Typhoon Agon.
01:35 Some of the experiences of the rain is in the Ilocos region, in a large part of Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabarzon, down to Western Visayas and Mimaropa, up to Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
01:48 There are high chances of rain tonight, so bring an umbrella if you are going out of your house.
01:53 Meanwhile, we are also monitoring cloud cluster of clouds here between the West Philippine Sea and South China Sea.
02:01 We are monitoring this because it is possible for this to be a low-pressure area in the coming days.
02:05 The projected movement is upward, and we are hoping that this can divert the rain.
02:11 The clouds here in the Palawan part will head to a low-pressure area.
02:16 So, this means that the continuous rainfalls in our country can be temporary, from Friday to the weekend.
02:24 Tomorrow, on Thursday, May 30, there will be rainfalls in the Western section of Luzon due to the Southwest Monsoon or Habaga.
02:33 Some of the areas in the Ilocos region, here in Mayusambales, Bataan, down to Occidental Mindoro and the northern portion of Palawan,
02:41 while here in the extreme northern Luzon, in Batanes and Baboyan Group of Islands, there will be scattered rain and thunderstorms,
02:47 with the effect of the frontal system or the cold and hot winds.
02:52 So, if a house is to be moved out tomorrow, bring an umbrella to the mentioned areas,
02:56 and make sure that we are accompanied by possible floods or landslides.
03:01 Here in the southern part of Luzon, including Metro Manila, we have parts of the city that are cloudy and cloudy in the morning,
03:08 but there are also chances of heavy rains or lightning and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and early morning the next day.
03:15 The temperature in Metro Manila is 26 to 32 degrees Celsius, while in Baguio, it is still cold from 17 to 24 degrees Celsius.
03:24 In our countrymen, in the remaining part of Palawan, we still expect a cloudy weather and there are also high chances of heavy rains,
03:31 especially in the afternoon and evening, with the effect of the Southwest Monsoon.
03:35 While the majority of Visayas, including the Western Visayas, where there were frequent rains during the past few days,
03:42 by tomorrow, the weather will be good, the rains will be reduced,
03:45 but the afternoon or evening thunderstorms will still be there in a large part of Visayas, due to the Easter Leaves.
03:51 Our temperature in Metro Cebu is 27 to 34 degrees Celsius.
03:56 And for our countrymen in Mindanao, by tomorrow, we expect a cloudy and sunny weather,
04:02 in the afternoon, there will still be a hot and foggy weather,
04:05 and in the afternoon and evening, it will be cloudy and there are also chances of localized thunderstorms,
04:10 especially in the middle part of it, in Soksa Djinn and here in Northern Mindanao.
04:15 Our temperature in Metro Davao is from 25 to 33 degrees Celsius,
04:19 just like in Zamboanga City, while our heat indices in a large part of Visayas and Mindanao,
04:25 it is still possible to rise to 42 degrees or higher, these are the dangerous levels,
04:29 when the afternoon comes, our body will feel it, so make sure we are hydrated and we have a heat shield.
04:37 For the sea travel suspensions, we do not expect any gale warnings for the next few days.
04:42 It is only possible to sail in the sea, here in a large town of Luzon, especially if we have thunderstorms,
04:48 specifically here in the western side, expect to sail up to 3 meters high,
04:53 if we have thunderstorms, it is still dangerous for small sea vessels.
04:57 And as I mentioned earlier, from May 31 to the weekend, the first two days of June,
05:04 our rains will be lessened because it is possible to divert in the low pressure area,
05:09 this Habagat or Southwest Monsoon.
05:11 It means that the rains will be lessened, even here in Metro Manila,
05:15 and from Friday to Sunday, it is partly cloudy, until sometimes the sky is cloudy,
05:20 the chance of rain will be lower, and if there is, it will be short afternoons or evening thunderstorms.
05:26 For our fellowmen in Visayas, the weather in Iiral is also hotter in the next three days,
05:32 this is the effect of Easter Leaves or the wind from the Pacific Ocean,
05:35 for example, there will be a monsoon break here in the areas of Visayas and Mindanao,
05:39 partly cloudy, until the sky is cloudy, the short rains will also be accompanied, especially in Eastern Visayas.
05:45 And for our fellowmen in Mindanao, when Friday May 31 comes,
05:50 the chance of rain in Zamboanga Peninsula and Bangsamoro Region is high,
05:54 but for the rest of Mindanao, partly cloudy to cloudy skies,
05:57 over the weekend, the majority of Mindanao will be sunny, especially in the morning and afternoon,
06:02 and there is also a chance of lightning and thunder, until the afternoon and evening.
06:07 Our sunset is 621 at night, and the sunrise tomorrow is 526 in the morning.
06:13 That's the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa,
06:17 I am again Benny Son Estareja, saying, "Sanamang Panahon, Pag-asa Magandang Solusyon!"
