00:07A teenager has been remanded in custody after he pleaded guilty to stabbing a woman in Brighton.
00:12The victim, a 37-year-old woman from Brighton, was taken to hospital with a serious head
00:15injury where she remains in hospital at this time in a stable condition.
00:19Following police inquiries, the suspect was identified and arrested on Monday, May 27th.
00:24He was later charged that evening with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of
00:27a weapon in a public place.
00:29The 17-year-old appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, May 28th, where he pleaded
00:33guilty to the charges and was remanded in juvenile detention to await his sentencing
00:37on June 12th.
00:40A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead at an address in Brighton.
00:45Police were called to a property on Lavender Street shortly after 7.30pm on Monday, May
00:4827th.
00:49Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, a 70-year-old man from Brighton was declared
00:54deceased at the property.
00:56A 70-year-old woman, also from Brighton, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

01:04And finally, beachgoers were evacuated from a beach in West Sussex following reports of
01:07a possible ordnance under the sand.
01:10South Sea Coast Guard were called on Sunday, May 26th at 3.26pm to West Whittington Beach
01:14and a cordon was put in place until the bomb squad arrived at the location.
01:18Once the explosive ordnance disposal team arrived on scene, they carried out a controlled
01:21explosion on the beach.
01:23Crews from the team then stood down and returned to station at 7.15pm.
