00:00 It's like doing a one-woman show.
00:02 He's too fast, man!
00:03 You're just there, you're imagining everything,
00:06 and you're playing all by yourself,
00:07 and it's on green screen.
00:08 It's not even like you have a set or anything
00:10 to kind of ground you.
00:11 It's all in your imagination.
00:14 Do it, Smith!
00:16 Do it now, God damn it!

00:20 Hey, I'm Jennifer Lopez, and "Atlas"
00:22 is the first movie I've ever done
00:24 where I did almost all of my action scenes alone,
00:27 while strapped inside a giant robot.
00:30 And this is how I did it.
00:33 It was kind of like being in a spaceship.
00:34 It became kind of like a comfort place for me.
00:37 We had the mech suit, and we had different ones, right?
00:39 Like, there was ones that were very stationary,
00:41 and then there was ones that were kind of like
00:42 on these hydraulics and that would move.
00:44 We can assimilate it into our weapon system and take a shot.
00:47 It's hard to do it at first and work without other actors.
00:50 It's like it's all on you.
00:52 It's like no X factors.
00:53 It's just you.
00:54 I can do a lot of it on my own, but sometimes
00:57 you just like-- a good prompt will kind of like shake
01:00 you into reality in a way.
01:02 Scanning.
01:03 When he says you're on, you do something.
01:06 Brad and I had a really great working relationship.
01:09 I would often tell him, you know,
01:11 like, talk me through the beat.
01:12 I think he was kind of nervous at first
01:14 to kind of like yell out to me.
01:15 And I was like, no, yell at me.
01:17 Tell me.
01:18 Let me know.
01:19 Dodging.
01:20 I punch left.
01:22 And he's like, right now, boulders
01:24 were coming right at your head.
01:25 Right now, this is happening.
01:26 Right now, this is where you fall down.
01:28 Right.
01:29 And three.
01:30 And throw.
01:33 I'm very comfortable with my body.
01:35 Because I started as a dancer, a lot of it is like choreography.
01:40 I have the beats of a scene.
01:41 They do have a rhythm to them.
01:43 There's one time when there's a sinkhole.
01:45 And that kind of feeling of being sucked down,
01:47 those moments were quite intense.
01:49 She's plummeting to her death.
01:52 You got to have to really use your imagination
01:54 and all of your emotions and all of your past experiences
01:58 and everything that you can come up with and just
02:01 kind of your visceral instincts.
02:03 Let's go, bitch.
02:07 I went home exhausted every night just from the takes
02:11 that we would do.
02:12 And I would just be like, ugh.
02:13 So exhausted because I had to kind of really like throw
02:16 myself around and be hyperventilating.
02:20 All of it was just make believe.
02:21 But it all came together pretty amazing.
