Transcript
00:00So Mikey, it's a bit different for you isn't it this because obviously loads of people called
00:04over to the Isle of Man and they're saying how great it is. You've obviously grown up here,
00:07what's it like for you as a manksman to ride the CT goods? Yeah no it's really exciting,
00:11like obviously I've done it all my life and stuff so I've seen it, seen it from you know every stage
00:16of my life and then now to actually be doing it it's something very special for me. Is it
00:20something you've always wanted to do, you know you've obviously watched it as a kid? Yeah yeah
00:24I used to live on Bray Hill when I was a kid and stuff so that was kind of, I think that's where
00:28I got the bug because it was like early morning practice and watching the bikes fly past that's
00:32kind of where I got the bug and stuff and yeah I think from seeing the first bike through I kind
00:36of knew I wanted to do it. How did it go yesterday, obviously the first race, talk us through how it
00:41went so far, I know it's just the first day. Yeah yeah no first day it started off all right yeah
00:46we just tried to get laps in because obviously around here you can't really practice for this
00:49so it takes a bit of time for your mind and everything to get up to speed but we were okay,
00:54had a problem with my super stock bike, blew an engine up so unfortunately we had to get another
00:59one, had to source another one from Ireland so that's kind of a bit of a blow, I'm not going to
01:02get that till Thursday, I'm not going to get out till Thursday night so that's kind of a progress
01:07a bit, still need to qualify that but yeah it's part of it and we've got all the bikes to ride.
01:12And how looking forward to, I know this is qualifying, it's great this week but what's
01:16race week like? I know around here there's a different type of buzz in the Isle of Man,
01:19more people come, what's it like for you race week? Yeah no it's amazing I mean obviously
01:23practice week is more busy than what it is normally but then race week you know even more
01:26people come and stuff and then that's when you really start to kind of focus on what you do,
01:31in fact it's really important but it kind of doesn't really, it's just about you getting
01:35used to the bike and getting up to speed, it's the races that count really.
