Cameron calls for ‘rapid’ probe into airstrikes on Rafah

The Foreign Secretary has called for a “rapid” investigation into Israeli airstrikes in the southern Gaza city of Rafah over the weekend. Lord Cameron said "the Israelis have already said it was a tragic mistake, but we want to see that properly investigated."

00:00Well, I think that what happened in Rafah overnight really did look very, very concerning,
00:05very worrying, and so we're asking for that to be investigated rapidly.
00:09The Israelis have already said it was a tragic mistake, but we want to see that properly

00:14Look, what I want to see is a stop in the fighting.
00:17We want a pause, which has been offered by the Israelis, a hostage deal to Hamas that
00:22would let prisoners out of Israeli jails, and have that pause, because what we need
00:26is to get the hostages out, get the aid in, and have that stop in the fighting, which
00:30we can then turn into a permanent, sustainable ceasefire.
00:33That's what I want to see happen.
