Ramal Storm Destruction

Monday, May 27: Cyclone Remal made landfall on Sunday night in West Bengal and Bangladesh as a Severe Cyclonic Storm on Sunday night, bringing heavy rain and gusty winds with it. Scenes of devastation are emerging from West Bengal's coastal areas, where infrastructure and property suffered extensive damage from Remal's 135 kmph winds. While initial reports indicate two deaths in Bangladesh, Kolkata escaped major casualties.
