00:00:00I'd like to go in the trust tree for a second.
00:00:03Can I say something with full trust and can't be clipped?
00:00:08This is something I'm going to have to get over, but it's just years and years and years
00:00:15of this.
00:00:16On today's part of my take, we have two great guests.
00:00:23We have PGA champ Xander Shoffley, fresh off his first major, really awesome interview
00:00:29with him talking about winning the trophy on, what is it?
00:00:33The Wanamaker?
00:00:34The Wanamaker trophy.
00:00:35Yeah.
00:00:36The Wanamaker.
00:00:37He won the Wanamaker on Sunday.
00:00:38We talk about his final round.
00:00:39Remember when Morikawa spilled the lid off it?
00:00:42Yeah, that's right.
00:00:43A couple years ago.
00:00:44Yeah, that was great.
00:00:45That's right.
00:00:46We talk about his journey through golf.
00:00:47Really cool guy.
00:00:48Awesome interview.

00:02:58The crown is yours.
00:02:59Today is Wednesday, May 22nd, and the Boston Celtics survive game one in overtime, and
00:03:09they win one that ... What was that?
00:03:11I was doing two.
00:03:12Two?
00:03:13I was doing two.
00:03:14What was the twos for?
00:03:15The two was they needed to win this one because game two's coming up, and the Celtics never
00:03:19win game twos.
00:03:21That was ... Hank, you have to say that was one of those ones where we shouldn't have
00:03:26won that game, but we did.
00:03:27No, it was a huge ... It was a wake-up call win, which are the best types of wake-up calls.
00:03:30Yeah.
00:03:31Well, you guys needed ... It sounds so weird because they needed wake-up calls.
00:03:35That game felt like it was over, and then they took their foot off the gas in the third
00:03:37quarter, and all of a sudden, Halliburton hits that crazy bank shot to end the quarter.
00:03:42You're like, wait.
00:03:43This is a fucking one possession game.
00:03:45What's going on?
00:03:46Yeah.
00:03:47Even in the second quarter, they were up a lot, and they kind of blew the lead going
00:03:49into halftime.
00:03:50They tied it up.
00:03:51I mean, that's been the Celtics' team for the last three, four, five years is being
00:03:55really good, getting up, taking their foot off the gas.
00:03:59Always close games no matter what, but they overcame ... They were stumbling at the end
00:04:05of the fourth quarter.
00:04:06A couple of really bad turnovers.
00:04:08Jalen Brown was not playing good in the fourth quarter, and then he came up clutch when it
00:04:12mattered most.
00:04:13It was a crazy shot that he hit, too.
00:04:14It felt like the Celtics had the game in hand.
00:04:16They were up by three points.
00:04:17They had the ball.
00:04:19The Celtics had missed a couple- Pacers had the game in hand.
00:04:21Pacers had the game in hand.
00:04:22Celtics had missed a couple three-point shots to try to tie the game up.
00:04:26Pacers advanced the ball past half court, boneheaded turnover.
00:04:30Celtics get another crack at it, and then Jalen Brown's three felt like it was off balance.
00:04:35It felt like it had no chance at all in going in.
00:04:37It went in, and at that point, it was like all the momentum shifted, because the Pacers
00:04:41had the game won, and they gave it away.
00:04:44When you give a game away like that in the last 20 seconds, it feels like even if it
00:04:48goes into overtime, there's nothing good that's going to happen to you.
00:04:52Our guy, Stadhol, just texted me, said both teams tonight had a 98% chance to win the
00:04:57game in regulation.
00:04:59Neither team won it in regulation.
00:05:00That's pretty crazy.
00:05:01Those things are always so off and off.
00:05:05They put their fun to just look at, and be like, oh man, 99% chance.
00:05:08Unless you're a Falcons fan.
00:05:09Yeah, unless you're a Falcons fan.
00:05:13I thought the Pacers were going to come out flat in this game, because they just played
00:05:17a game seven on Sunday.
00:05:19Two days rest, or one day off, and being like, all right, now you got to jump into the Celtics.
00:05:25They just kept fighting, kept making shots.
00:05:27They're just keep shooting.
00:05:29They cooled off towards the end, but there was a moment in this game where they were
00:05:32shooting like 58% again, insane.
00:05:37They look at least like they're in this series, maybe.
00:05:39They should have won this game.
00:05:41Their game seven was also like half of the game seven, because they put that away early.
00:05:45It's not like they had to fight for an entire game against the Knicks.
00:05:50I was surprised that they were able to hang in there for as long as they did.
00:05:53I thought at the end of this game, when the Celtics ended up winning, I thought that the
00:05:59Pacers might be able to build off it.
00:06:01Then I just thought for a little bit longer, and this seems like the most demoralizing
00:06:05loss possible for the Pacers.
00:06:07It also was weird, because if you remember the last sequence, I thought it was going
00:06:11to happen on the Derrick White rebound, where he had that incredible rebound and was just
00:06:15out hustling everyone, and they kick it out, and Jason Tatum misses a shot, and then the
00:06:20Pacers get the ball back, and you're like, now it is officially over.
00:06:23The thing about the Pacers is they're really good offensively.
00:06:25They can score a shitload of points, but if it's a close game, they panic.
00:06:31They just smash the panic button.
00:06:32They freak out, and their coach was terrible taking his timeouts.
00:06:36Rick Carlisle didn't do shit in the last minute of that game that he should have done.
00:06:40I also think Pascal Siakam, he got stuck in this spot.
00:06:44Jalen Brown can't hit free throws.
00:06:45Hank, you've been talking about it all year.
00:06:48It bothers you.
00:06:49You get scared when he goes to the free throw line.
00:06:53In that situation, I'm not a big follow-up three with eight seconds left, and more like
00:06:57follow-up three with five seconds left and under, but when Jalen Brown gets the ball,
00:07:03it felt like Pascal Siakam was about to foul, and then he realized, oh shit, he's going
00:07:06to shoot, and then didn't get a hand in the face, and then you get that, which was an
00:07:10incredible shot by Jalen Brown.
00:07:11It was great.
00:07:12Jalen Brown, he hit the shot.
00:07:13He had two free throws at the end of the fourth quarter, and he kind of forced a turnover.
00:07:17And he went left.
00:07:18Yeah.
00:07:19He was dribbling with his left hand.
00:07:20What happened-
00:07:21Gutsy, gutsy win.
00:07:23What happened to Jason Tatum in the fourth quarter?
00:07:25He scored 10 points in overtime, which is the most points-
00:07:28I said fourth quarter.
00:07:29I mean, he missed an open shot.
00:07:31Shooters are going to miss shots.
00:07:32Yeah.
00:07:33He, you know-
00:07:34He did get the-
00:07:35He was awesome in the-
00:07:36Jalen Brown had a bad beginning in the fourth quarter, like in that middle period where
00:07:39the Pacers kind of took the lead.
00:07:40That was, he had a bad turnover, bad couple shots.
00:07:43I think a couple turnovers.
00:07:45Jason Tatum missed a couple shots.
00:07:47They brought it back.
00:07:48This is the ultimate game for the Celtics, too, because they got choked to an inch of
00:07:53their life, and then they were able to breathe through it, maintain their composure.
00:07:57Mazzullo's doing this, and he's probably loving every second of it on the sidelines.
00:08:00Yeah, it was a loss.
00:08:01It felt like a loss.
00:08:02Like, the players felt like they lost it.
00:08:04They had that feeling of like, oh, fuck, I can't believe we lost it at home.
00:08:07We had the lead.
00:08:08We choked, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
00:08:09Been trying not to do that.
00:08:10No, but you're right.
00:08:11A wake-up call and a win is a pretty good wake-up call.
00:08:16Yeah.
00:08:17The only thing you could say positively for the Pacers is that this same thing happened
00:08:20to them in the Knicks series.
00:08:22Yeah.
00:08:23Game one, they got screwed, and that was a very winnable game, and they still won that
00:08:27series.
00:08:28Well, we were saying if the Pacers had won this game, Boston loses every game two across
00:08:32all sports, and then the Pacers haven't lost at home since, what, March 18th?
00:08:37March 18th.
00:08:38Yeah, it's been a long time.
00:08:39So you were staring down the barrel of a sweep if you didn't win tonight.
00:08:43Now we're on the other side of the barrel.
00:08:44Yeah, now you're on the other side of the barrel.
00:08:45Now who's got the gun?
00:08:47Our good friend John Feidelberg, I thought, had the best tweet about Jason Tatum.
00:08:50I love fights because whenever the Bruins get bounced from the playoffs, he just switches
00:08:54to Celtics.
00:08:55He said, after watching one Tatum game, I'd like to loudly agree with people who think
00:08:59he's the best player in the league.
00:09:01I also agree with people who think he's a bum.
00:09:03I think that's put perfectly.
00:09:06Yeah, that's Carl Anthony Townsend's last tweet.
00:09:08Jason Tatum is just how you look at him.
00:09:09Yeah.
00:09:10Hank, here's the thing.
00:09:11Jason Tatum's really good, but he's also a star player that, like, that's what happens
00:09:14to star players.
00:09:15He had 10 points in overtime.
00:09:16I understand the fourth quarter.
00:09:17Star players get criticized.
00:09:19If Luka puts a dud tomorrow night, we're going to talk about Luka putting up a dud tomorrow
00:09:23night.
00:09:24But still be like, oh, he's the best player in the world.
00:09:25I mean that-
00:09:26I just said Jason Tatum's a fucking incredible player.
00:09:30But it's always the but.
00:09:31It's always Jason Tatum.
00:09:32You know what?
00:09:33You know why?
00:09:34All right, I'm-
00:09:35No, no, no.
00:09:36I'm-
00:09:37He's incredible.
00:09:38I'm running this through the Hank translator right now.
00:09:39Hank is getting so defensive about this because Jason Tatum has never won anything.
00:09:43That's why he's defensive.
00:09:44Nothing but success.
00:09:45But if he had won-
00:09:46Hank-
00:09:47If Jason Tatum was, like, an NBA Finals MVP and you were questioning what he did in the
00:09:50fourth quarter, Hank would be like, yeah, he's got to show up there.
00:09:53But because he's Hank's guy and hasn't won anything yet, Hank has to be like, you shut
00:09:58your mouth.
00:09:59He's my special baby.
00:10:00I think Jason Tatum is really fucking good.
00:10:03If you have a really fucking good player, I just want him to take over games.
00:10:07And, like, ice the game out overtime.
00:10:09Overtime was great.
00:10:11Fourth quarter, the reason why the Pacers were even in that spot was, like, there was
00:10:15multiple times he was like, Tatum, do it.
00:10:17Go take it.
00:10:18He did it.
00:10:19That layup he hit where T.J. McConnell was basically trying to tackle him was all strength.
00:10:23There you go.
00:10:24Was that-
00:10:25I feel like you just only listen to the bad things I say about him.
00:10:27It's not you.
00:10:28It's just everyone.
00:10:29Yeah, but also, you remember that turnover?
00:10:30I'm not going to say it.
00:10:32I can't say bad things.
00:10:33It was a bad pass off the picker.
00:10:34I can't even exist with Jason Tatum thoughts.
00:10:37Got to communicate better than that, Jason.
00:10:39I can't even exist.
00:10:40Hank, just when we talk about Jason Tatum, picture in your brain that he's already won
00:10:44an NBA Finals, and then try to absorb it through that filter.
00:10:47I think that's pretty fair.
00:10:48He hit 36 tonight.
00:10:50Ten points in overtime.
00:10:51What'd he do in the fourth?
00:10:52He hit 10 minutes where he didn't score a point.
00:10:56It's fine.
00:10:57They won the game.
00:10:58Who cares?
00:10:59That's what I'm saying.
00:11:01If you, before the game started, Jason Tatum, 36 points, 10 points overtime, Celtics win,
00:11:06discourse is somehow going to be he didn't show up in the fourth quarter.
00:11:08How is that possible?
00:11:10I just asked a question about the fourth quarter.
00:11:12I said, what about the fourth quarter?
00:11:13We're process guys, not results guys.
00:11:15That's facts.
00:11:16And you know that.
00:11:17I'm a bottom line guy.
00:11:18I'm a stat ticker.
00:11:19So if you guys hadn't won this game, what would you have said?
00:11:21It was bad.
00:11:23It was bad.
00:11:24Okay, that's fair.
00:11:25You know what?
00:11:26That's fair.
00:11:27That's a completely fair thing.
00:11:28I think Jason Tatum is really good.
00:11:29It would have been bad for, again, both of them played bad in the fourth quarter, but
00:11:33then Jalen Brown saved the game and Jason Tatum carried them in overtime.
00:11:37That's all you can ask from your two best players.
00:11:39All right.
00:11:40So game two, what do you think?
00:11:41Prediction?
00:11:42Blowout.
00:11:43Wake up call.
00:11:44Which way?
00:11:45Celtics.
00:11:46Oh, wait.
00:11:47Wake up call in a blowout?
00:11:48No, they've been woken up.
00:11:49Yeah.
00:11:50This was the perfect ending for you.
00:11:52It was a wake up call win.
00:11:55Those are very hard to come by.
00:11:56I know.
00:11:57Yeah.
00:11:58Really, really hard to come by.
00:11:59Yeah.
00:12:00That is truly when you have to be a bottom line guy, a results guy, is after a game like
00:12:03this.
00:12:04How many fucking wake up calls does this team get?
00:12:05Well, it's a wake up call every fucking series.
00:12:08The patients suck.
00:12:09You haven't played anybody.
00:12:10The patients fucking suck.
00:12:11How many times you're going to get?
00:12:12How many fucking times you're going to get woken up by a team that fucking sucks?
00:12:13Max, you've seen how Hank likes to sleep in.
00:12:14He needs several wake up calls.
00:12:15I'm done with it.
00:12:16Jason Tatum played like dick in the fourth quarter.
00:12:17He was horrible.
00:12:18And then they were finally like, yeah, we're playing the fucking Pacers.
00:12:19It's the fucking Pacers.
00:12:20It's like we spent the first 10 minutes of the show just like shaking up a carbonated
00:12:21bottle of Max and then just opened it.
00:12:22He's also sitting in it.
00:12:23He's like, I don't know what to do.
00:12:24I don't know what to do.
00:12:25I don't know what to do.
00:12:26I don't know what to do.
00:12:27I don't know what to do.
00:12:28I don't know what to do.
00:12:40He's sitting in memes and seats so we can't see him.
00:12:43I had no idea.
00:12:44And he's just, yeah, you're right.
00:12:46We just, we're just, what we just did is we just, we just fucked with Max.
00:12:50He's dead.
00:12:51He's dead.
00:12:52It was a slow mo video putting a Mentos in a Pepsi can and just being like, all right,
00:12:57here we go.
00:12:58And then he comes out and he thought, so what he just said.
00:13:03No, I mean, it's like, again, when you make it this far in the playoffs, you play more
00:13:06games.
00:13:07So you have more opportunities for wake up calls.
00:13:08That's just simple.
00:13:09That's a good point.
00:13:11Yeah.
00:13:12And Hank knows something about a wake up call.
00:13:13Yeah.
00:13:14Yeah.
00:13:15Sometimes you need several.
00:13:16Yeah.
00:13:17I mean, this is the first time you've played a team who actually has their best player
00:13:18or.
00:13:19Yeah.
00:13:20And what happened?
00:13:21We won.
00:13:22I guess.
00:13:23I guess.
00:13:24Well, actually no, I'm all fucked up.
00:13:25I'm all fucked up.
00:13:26Come back to it.
00:13:27Are you saying Jared Allen was, is the, well, Donovan Mitchell missed games.
00:13:30Yeah.
00:13:31He did miss games.
00:13:32Yeah.
00:13:33He did miss games.
00:13:34Yeah.
00:13:35You're back on track.
00:13:36All right.
00:13:37Should we, uh, that, that game seven Oilers Canucks.
00:13:39I want to say shout out Vancouver did not riot, did not riot.
00:13:43It felt like Vancouver was coming back though.
00:13:44It felt like they were, they were going to tie it up in the third period after they got
00:13:48the second goal.
00:13:49Yeah.
00:13:50It felt like it was going to happen that that barn was going to explode and it was the most
00:13:54dominating performance for the first 50 minutes of that game.
00:13:58Like the, the shots were out of control.
00:14:00The Oilers, every single time the Canucks got the puck in the Oilers zone, it was like
00:14:04they didn't get a good shot or they didn't get a shot period.
00:14:07And, uh, and like even the first period, like I know it was zero zero after one, but
00:14:13McDavid played five minutes and they killed a four minute penalty and they were just like,
00:14:18you could just see, you're like, Oh, those are so much better.
00:14:20But I, I agree like that, that last four minutes you're like, Oh shit, is this about to happen?
00:14:25Yeah.
00:14:26It felt like it might.
00:14:27But, uh, congratulations to Edmonton.
00:14:28Canada marches on.
00:14:29I'm just glad that we have a Canadian team that's this far.
00:14:32I want to see it.
00:14:33No matter what.
00:14:34I know.
00:14:35I know.
00:14:36Yeah.
00:14:37I mean, I've watched this entire series, whether the game's being played in Edmonton or in
00:14:40Vancouver, the Canadian, the fans seem just like way more amped up than most American
00:14:46fan bases.
00:14:4750 50 raffle.
00:14:48They walk in the door.
00:14:49It's like 600,000.
00:14:50It's incredible.
00:14:51It's nuts.
00:14:52They go absolutely apeshit for hockey.
00:14:53And I, I like watching it, so I'm glad.
00:14:55I hope they get to the, to the finals.
00:14:57And I, I kind of just for our own sake, I hope that Edmonton loses in the finals just
00:15:02for the storyline, the storyline, just for the story.
00:15:07Sorry, Canada.
00:15:08Oh, it's not who they play.
00:15:09If they play the Rangers, I don't think.
00:15:10Yeah.
00:15:11If they play the Rangers, I'm going to be probably rude for, although if the Rangers
00:15:14win, I will count that as like a Tom Wilson, Stanley cup.
00:15:16Yeah.
00:15:17Yeah.
00:15:18Ooh.
00:15:19Edmonton, Florida would be fun for people writing stories about how far they have to
00:15:22travel.
00:15:23Yeah.
00:15:24Edmonton to Dallas for the same conference.
00:15:25That's a sneaky long trip.
00:15:26Yeah, it is.
00:15:27Yeah.
00:15:28It's nothing I like more than talking about plane trips.
00:15:30Travel.
00:15:31Yeah.
00:15:32Yeah.
00:15:33We just, we just stumbled into Warren Sharpe's Twitter.
00:15:34Global warming, huh?
00:15:36Who's got the most miles?
00:15:37Uh, all right.
00:15:38Anything else before we do Hot Seat, Cool Throne?
00:15:41Like I said, we have two awesome interviews, Xander Shoffley and Brian Winhorse.
00:15:45Uh, anything else going on in the sports world today that we had that popped up?
00:15:49Antonio Brown.
00:15:50Oh, I guess maybe someone had that.
00:15:51Antonio Brown is bankrupt.
00:15:52Yeah.
00:15:53Sad day.
00:15:54Did you have that?
00:15:55All right, let's just do Hot Seat, Cool Throne because we got more sports to talk about.
00:15:58Hot Seat, Cool Throne is brought to you by our friends at Coors Light.

00:17:06Also, if you, if you load up a cooler, send us pictures of Coors Light.
00:17:09Yes.
00:17:10I just love looking at cool.
00:17:11Oh, I love it.
00:17:12Love it.
00:17:13Love it.
00:17:14Love it.
00:17:15Uh, okay.
00:17:16Hank, hot seat.
00:17:17Cool.
00:17:18Trump.
00:17:19My hot seat is Antonio Brown.
00:17:20Oh, why?
00:17:21What happened?
00:17:22Oh, he went bankrupt.
00:17:23Oh no.
00:17:24Player bankruptcy.
00:17:25So what's his career earnings?
00:17:26Let's look that up real quick.
00:17:27A lot.
00:17:28Antonio Brown.
00:17:29I'm going to guess.
00:17:3078 million.
00:17:3189 million.
00:17:32Okay.
00:17:33Let's see here.
00:17:34I'm going to guess 94 million.
00:17:35Cause he wasn't obviously like highly drafted.
00:17:36So he probably, he had to.
00:17:37Someone said 79.
00:17:38Yeah.
00:17:39I said 89.
00:17:4078.
00:17:41What is it?
00:17:4280.7.
00:17:43Ooh.
00:17:44Via his boat track.
00:17:45Ooh.
00:17:46Nice Hank.
00:17:47So he's, that means he doesn't, he spent $80 million.
00:17:48Well, half for taxes.
00:17:49Half for taxes.
00:17:50Half for taxes.
00:17:51Half for taxes.
00:17:52Half for taxes.
00:17:53Half for taxes.
00:17:54Half for taxes.
00:17:55Half for taxes.
00:17:56Half for taxes.
00:17:57Half for taxes.
00:17:58Half for taxes.
00:17:59True.
00:18:00Well, he played in Florida.
00:18:01Another 10.
00:18:02Well, only for a little.
00:18:03For a little bit.
00:18:04Very little.
00:18:05And he lived with Tom Brady.
00:18:06So he probably saved some money there.
00:18:0710% on agent fee.
00:18:08Yeah.
00:18:09So now we're down to, he's basically, he was broke the second he got.
00:18:11Pretty much.
00:18:12He played for free.
00:18:13He stopped playing football.
00:18:14I forgot he was on the Raiders.
00:18:15Yeah.
00:18:16He played for free.
00:18:17Yeah.
00:18:18Remember that?
00:18:19Yeah.
00:18:20The hard knocks.
00:18:21Hot air balloon.
00:18:22Yeah.
00:18:23So I hope that the bankruptcy court proceedings are like the last episode of Seinfeld where
00:18:24they just bring out every single person that he has not paid money to over the years.
00:18:28Like whether it's any home contractor, anybody he's had do like video work for him.
00:18:32It's like every six months for a while, people were just saying, yeah, I worked for Antonio
00:18:36Brown.
00:18:37I was a chef and he never paid me.
00:18:38And then he also sexually assaulted me.
00:18:40Yeah.
00:18:41I hope they just bring them out one by one in this hearing and have them testify for
00:18:44him.
00:18:45I also hope that CTE ESPN is not part of this bankruptcy.
00:18:47No, that's why he started CTE ESPN was so that those assets could not be touched by
00:18:52a personal bankruptcy.
00:18:53Got it.
00:18:54Yeah.
00:18:55So smart, savvy business move.
00:18:56Yeah.
00:18:57On BB's part.
00:18:58Yeah.
00:18:59No, it's, I feel bad.
00:19:00CTE ESPN.
00:19:01Yeah.
00:19:02I mean, he definitely has CTE.
00:19:03Do you remember when he was just like jacking off in a pool like a year ago?
00:19:07That was weird.
00:19:08It was really strange.
00:19:09Yeah.
00:19:10Really, really weird.
00:19:11He's successfully done so much weird shit in the last three years.
00:19:13Montez Perfect.
00:19:14That you completely forget about the next one that he does.
00:19:17Montez Perfect.
00:19:18That one hit.
00:19:19He really, that was kind of where you can point to it and be like, Ooh, that was, that
00:19:24was kind of where things changed.
00:19:25All right.
00:19:26Who's your cool throw?
00:19:27My cool thrown is Chet Hanks and white boys.
00:19:30Shit.
00:19:31That was mine too.
00:19:32White boys on the cool throne.
00:19:33White boys back up.
00:19:35White boys.
00:19:36What'd he say?
00:19:37Uh, he, well first he, his dad texts him asking about the Drake situation.
00:19:41Wait, who's his dad?
00:19:42Tom Hanks.
00:19:43Okay.
00:19:44What's he been in?
00:19:45Um, catch me if you can't.
00:19:48That's the one you go with with Tom Hanks?
00:19:49I feel like it's a saving private Ryan or Forrest Gump.
00:19:53Forrest Gump is the one, one.
00:19:54Big right?
00:19:55You've got man.
00:19:56Big is great.
00:19:57It's good.
00:19:58But what do you Philadelphia?
00:19:59What do you think?
00:20:00The number one, if you say Tom Hanks, Tom, the movie and Tom Hanks, Tom Hanks had nothing
00:20:03but success in the movie Philadelphia.
00:20:06Yeah.
00:20:07What, what would you say?
00:20:08The number one Tom Hanks, if you, if you pulled a hundred people on the street, would it be
00:20:11Forrest Gump?
00:20:12Maybe Castaway would sneaky be high.
00:20:14I think I, has he done any voices in a kid's movie because Toy Story, Toy Story.
00:20:18Yeah.
00:20:19Woody.
00:20:20Yeah.
00:20:21So it'd be Toy Story or Forrest Gump.
00:20:22I think you've got mail.
00:20:23Sleepless in Seattle.
00:20:25I think I'm probably Ryan would be big too.
00:20:27Yeah.
00:20:28People love catch me if you can.
00:20:29Goat it.
00:20:30Great movie, but he also is not the main character.
00:20:33Yeah, no.
00:20:36Goat it.
00:20:37Goat it.
00:20:38Uh, you think you could do that?
00:20:40Oh yeah.
00:20:41In the sixties.
00:20:42What about now?
00:20:43Probably not.
00:20:44There's, you know, it was so innovation.
00:20:46Yeah.
00:20:47Innovation.
00:20:48So easy to do crimes in the sixties.
00:20:49Oh dude.
00:20:50Uh, like a hundred years ago, could you just move across, move to the next town?
00:20:53You could murder anyone.
00:20:54Yeah.
00:20:55You could just fucking kill someone and just be like, all right, I'm out.
00:20:56Yeah.
00:20:57You just get on a horse and you go like 20 miles and no one knows you.
00:21:00Yeah.
00:21:01Wasn't he the first guy to get COVID?
00:21:02Who?
00:21:03Oh, he was one of them.
00:21:04Yeah.
00:21:05He might've been under.
00:21:06You remember when he was locked in that Australian prison and he got to pretend that he was hosting
00:21:09SNL on a green screen.
00:21:10I just remember that first night they said he had it and everyone thought like, oh my
00:21:15God.
00:21:16Yeah.
00:21:17No, it was interesting.
00:21:18Yeah.
00:21:19Yeah.
00:21:20It was like a triple whammy of the NBA getting canceled, Rudy Gobert and then Tom Hanks locked
00:21:22in jail in Australia.
00:21:24And that Georgetown St. John's game, the half that I was at halftime, I was eight oh and
00:21:29one that week I was on fire.
00:21:33He texted his son Chet and he said, big Maine.
00:21:36Hmm.
00:21:37It seems fake.
00:21:38You think so?
00:21:39You think there's some big Maine?
00:21:41I guess you have to talk like he's trying to relate with his son.
00:21:44He goes, big Maine.
00:21:45Can you explain the Drake Kendrick Lamar feud to me?
00:21:49And then Chet Hanks sent them like a two paragraph long text explaining it and he said, holy
00:21:54cow.
00:21:55Exclamation point.
00:21:56These are fighting words.
00:21:57People take inside who's winning.
00:21:58Uh, so that was funny.
00:22:01Okay.
00:22:02Tom Hanks is like, who's winning son?
00:22:04Yeah.
00:22:05Is there a score?
00:22:06Is there a score tracker I can keep up with?
00:22:08Uh, but then Chet Hanks came back the next day, posted Instagram, said, I've consulted
00:22:11with the heavens, felt westward breeze, walked outside of a strip club and saw my shadow.
00:22:17This will be a white boy summer.
00:22:18Hell yeah.
00:22:19I have spoken.
00:22:20Let's go.
00:22:21Let's go.
00:22:22I'm going to be a hashtag WBSO.
00:22:23What about city boys?
00:22:24Nothing about city boys.
00:22:25Are they up?
00:22:26They are now.
00:22:27White city boys.
00:22:28Okay.
00:22:29City boys up.
00:22:30White boys up.
00:22:31Did you just learn that?
00:22:32I did like eight hours ago.
00:22:33You remember when he dropped that correctly?
00:22:34Yeah, like two years ago.
00:22:35You remember when he put out that shirt?
00:22:36What the fuck?
00:22:37White boy summer was two years ago?
00:22:38But yeah, but Chet did back.
00:22:39So I need to, who made it city boys?
00:22:40No, but that was-
00:22:41City boys did.
00:22:42So bring it back city boys.
00:22:43I think it's like, I don't know.
00:22:44I think it's like, I don't know.
00:22:45I think it's like, I don't know.
00:22:46I don't know.
00:22:48I think it's like, I don't know.
00:22:49I think it's like, I don't know.
00:22:50I think it's like, I don't know.
00:22:51City boys did.
00:22:52So bring it back city boys.
00:22:53I think it's like-
00:22:54I just learned what it is.
00:22:55Bring it back, please.
00:22:56Some white boys are city boys, but not all city boys are white boys.
00:22:59Got it.
00:23:00And all white boys are going to have a good summer.
00:23:02Yeah.
00:23:03Remember that shirt that he put out that has the most racist font ever on the back of it?
00:23:07Yeah.
00:23:08It was like the calligraphy?
00:23:09Yeah.
00:23:10That was a great shirt that he did.
00:23:11Yeah.
00:23:12White boys.
00:23:13Do you remember that shirt though?
00:23:14I do.
00:23:15Oh yeah.
00:23:16I do.
00:23:17where he would just do burpees and then for some reason
00:23:19just like hit his like dick muscles.
00:23:21Yeah.
00:23:22Remember he'd hit like the V muscle every time.
00:23:26He tried to, I think he tried to sue us.
00:23:31Because of the Nick and KB thing?
00:23:33I didn't know, Nick and KB did something with him
00:23:36and then they got his number
00:23:37and then we called him on the yak.
00:23:38I think Tommy Smokes tried, like said something to him
00:23:42and he's like, I didn't know I was live,
00:23:44I'm gonna sue you guys.
00:23:46Sounds like he's got a fair grade.
00:23:48Yeah, I mean it was Tommy's fault,
00:23:49so if Tommy wants to get sued, he can get sued.
00:23:52Has he been in anything recently?
00:23:54He's in Your Honor.
00:23:55Yeah, he was good in Your Honor.
00:23:57Chet?
00:23:58Yeah, he played like a crack head.
00:23:59Yeah.
00:24:00Did a really good job.
00:24:01He was very good.
00:24:02White Boyz Up?
00:24:03City Boyz.
00:24:05White Boyz Summer, City Boyz Up.
00:24:08Got it.
00:24:09White Boyz Up.
00:24:12Does that play?
00:24:13I don't know.
00:24:14White Boyz Summer's better, yeah, I agree.
00:24:16White Boyz Up is, yeah, okay, good call.
00:24:18City Boyz Summer?
00:24:19Good call, yeah.
00:24:20I guess.
00:24:22You just let us know.
00:24:23Okay.
00:24:24We should ask Chet.
00:24:25Yeah.
00:24:27We'll have him on.
00:24:28We'll, all right, yeah.
00:24:30Yeah, we'll have him on.
00:24:31Great week.
00:24:32Sure, yeah.
00:24:33Yeah, all right, BFT.
00:24:35My hot seat is the guy who had Bryce Harper
00:24:38ask a girl to prom for him.
00:24:39Did you see that?
00:24:40Yes.
00:24:41Bryce Harper goes with a guy in Philly, right?
00:24:44Philly Kid?
00:24:45Goes to a girl's door, they knock on the door,
00:24:48and Bryce Harper helps this kid
00:24:50ask the girl to prom for him.
00:24:52The girl is just thrilled
00:24:54that Bryce Harper's on her doorstep.
00:24:56She says yes somewhere in there,
00:24:57and then after she says yes,
00:24:59she goes and immediately gives a big hug to Bryce Harper.
00:25:02Hi, Julia.
00:25:03I'm going to prom.
00:25:04I'm going to prom.
00:25:06Jake wants to ask you to prom,
00:25:07so I found out about your prom over there.
00:25:12Okay, so are you going to prom with him?
00:25:14Yes.
00:25:15Awesome, there you go.
00:25:22It was interesting because I guess mission accomplished,
00:25:25right?
00:25:26Yeah.
00:25:27You got Bryce Harper in there,
00:25:27but now, did she say yes
00:25:29just because she wanted to give Bryce Harper a hug?
00:25:31Yeah, I mean, you can't bring Bryce Harper
00:25:33to like your crush's house.
00:25:36Right.
00:25:37Be like, please go on a date with me.
00:25:39Please have Bryce Harper,
00:25:40like objectively very good looking guy,
00:25:43really good at baseball,
00:25:45even though the Phillies have been playing
00:25:46the Savannah Bananas every night.
00:25:50And then just be like, yeah, but it's me.
00:25:52You're going to prom with me, not Bryce Harper.
00:25:53Yeah, you don't want to stand next to somebody
00:25:55way more attractive than you
00:25:56when asking such an important question.
00:25:57Right.
00:25:59Right.
00:26:00I don't know, but I guess it worked, so good job.
00:26:03Yeah.
00:26:03Max, what do you think about this?
00:26:06Weird?
00:26:06No, all-time good guy, Bryce Harper.
00:26:09Philly just appreciates Bryce Harper,
00:26:11and obviously, she was thankful for Bryce Harper
00:26:14to come and be part of her promposal,
00:26:17so she was saying, thank you, Bryce Harper.
00:26:20This is something I'll remember for the rest of my life,
00:26:22and now I'm going to go spend the rest of my time
00:26:24with this lovely man who got Bryce Harper
00:26:26to come to my doorstep.
00:26:27Wishing it was Bryce Harper.
00:26:29No, that's not true.
00:26:29Wishing he was Bryce Harper.
00:26:30That's not true.
00:26:31Bryce Harper is just a very good guy,
00:26:33and Philly respects good guys.
00:26:36Okay.
00:26:37Have you ever had-
00:26:38And the Phillies are playing really good baseball.
00:26:41Who do they got next week, the Trenton Thunder?
00:26:43They're playing the world champs,
00:26:44the reigning world champs right now.
00:26:46Oh, let me see.
00:26:47They're pretty good.
00:26:48What they're, all right, the reigning world champs.
00:26:51Well, yeah, now they're under 500
00:26:52because they lost to the Phillies.
00:26:53Oh, okay.
00:26:54All these teams lose to the Phillies,
00:26:55and they go under 500.
00:26:56Yeah, yeah.
00:26:57Baseball, Major League Baseball has a Philadelphia problem.
00:26:59All the teams are bad
00:27:00because the Phillies keep beating all of them.
00:27:02Correct.
00:27:02I don't, I think the Phillies are very good.
00:27:05Like, Max has not been able to say,
00:27:08like, good win Phil's without also saying,
00:27:11what are the losers gonna say?
00:27:13I mean, well, that,
00:27:13every time anyone posts anything about the Phil's,
00:27:15it's just they haven't played anyone's,
00:27:16it is crazy to have-
00:27:18Isn't it so annoying when people do that, Max?
00:27:20You can only fucking play the teams in front of you.
00:27:22Oh, fuck.
00:27:23Oh, shit.
00:27:24But, yeah.
00:27:25Hank, he got you when he said Jason Tatum played like dick,
00:27:29but now you're back.
00:27:31And he also didn't.
00:27:33I said in the fourth quarter.
00:27:34And he was also 25.
00:27:36Oh, so they have the Rangers, the Rockies.
00:27:39That will be good.
00:27:42They haven't played a team over 500 since opening weekend.
00:27:44How is that possible?
00:27:46Or since the opening series.
00:27:47The, I don't know.
00:27:49And they still don't until June.
00:27:51When a team loses to the Phillies,
00:27:52they get beaten so badly.
00:27:53They get demoralized and then they lose all their confidence
00:27:56and they can't go on and win any more games.
00:27:58There's only four teams above 500 in the NL right now.
00:28:00Yeah, but still.
00:28:01So, it's not really their fault.
00:28:02But they're playing the Rockies, the Giants,
00:28:05and the Cardinals coming up.
00:28:08Yeah.
00:28:09Yeah, I don't know what you want me to say.
00:28:11Okay, but all-time good guy.
00:28:13All-time good guy, love Bryce Harper.
00:28:15Bryce Harper's a great guy.
00:28:16Great guy.
00:28:17Still kind of a weird move to have somebody else come in.
00:28:20Want him to come on the show.
00:28:20It's not a weird move.
00:28:21It's more of like a dumb move.
00:28:23Yeah.
00:28:24Yeah.
00:28:25A short-sighted move.
00:28:26Like, have Bryce Harper come and visit.
00:28:29Be like, hey, will you go to prom with me?
00:28:31If we go to prom together,
00:28:32I'll have Bryce Harper come to your house.
00:28:34Yeah, that's good.
00:28:35Or-
00:28:36Just dangle it like a carrot.
00:28:37Or just have Bryce record a video.
00:28:39Yeah.
00:28:39Be like, hey, will you go to prom with this guy?
00:28:41Yeah, yeah.
00:28:42I'll hit a dinger for you if you do.
00:28:43I like that.
00:28:45My cool throne is Marvin Harrison Jr.
00:28:49Because he is engaged in a big legal dispute right now.
00:28:52I don't know if you've seen the ongoing dispute with him,
00:28:54but-
00:28:55I saw a headline.
00:28:56You can't, if you're a Cardinals fan or anybody else,
00:28:58you can't buy a Marvin Harrison Jr. jersey yet.
00:29:02And the reason for this
00:29:02is because he never signed with the NFLPA.
00:29:05And the reason for that is,
00:29:07back in college, he was approached,
00:29:09a lot of players get approached by fanatics
00:29:12when they're in college,
00:29:13and they are asked to sign their rights over
00:29:15for like, autograph sessions, merch, things like that,
00:29:17because college players can do that now.
00:29:20Marvin Harrison Jr. said,
00:29:21no, I'm not gonna sign this right now
00:29:22because I think my name is gonna be so big
00:29:25when I'm a rookie that it's gonna be worth more
00:29:28than you're gonna offer me as like a college sophomore.
00:29:30Which is probably accurate, probably smart.
00:29:33So he didn't sign that then,
00:29:34and then they asked him to sign the NFLPA thing
00:29:37so they could now sell more of his merch.
00:29:39He said, no, I wanna figure this out
00:29:41and do more negotiating on it.
00:29:43And now fanatics is suing Marvin Harrison Jr.
00:29:46so that they can start selling his jerseys.
00:29:49So they claim that Marvin Harrison Jr. signed a term sheet,
00:29:54which is just basically a piece of paper saying like,
00:29:56I intend to do this, not a legally binding contract.
00:30:00They claim that he signed that before the draft
00:30:02and that they should be allowed to sell it.
00:30:04But the bottom line is,
00:30:05you're not gonna be able to buy Marvin Harrison Jr. jerseys
00:30:09in stores for a very long time,
00:30:10and he's probably not gonna be in video games either
00:30:12until he gets this all sorted out.
00:30:14But once he does,
00:30:15he's probably gonna get paid a shitload of money for it.
00:30:17Smart by him.
00:30:18Very smart by him.
00:30:19And again, I'm taking Marvin Harrison Jr.'s side
00:30:21in this 100% because his dad is Marvin Harrison Sr.
00:30:25And I would not want to be engaged
00:30:27in any sort of dispute with that family.
00:30:29They're a great family.
00:30:30Yes.
00:30:31So, but it does seem like he's figured out,
00:30:33oh yeah, maybe we shouldn't sign these contracts
00:30:35when we're college sophomores,
00:30:37if we are planning,
00:30:38if we're expecting to get drafted highly in the NFL.
00:30:40Signing like a five-year deal when you're a college
00:30:42sophomore, not the smartest thing in the world.
00:30:44Was he at the rookie thing
00:30:48where like everyone was in their jerseys running around?
00:30:51It was like the first round picks.
00:30:54Let me see.
00:30:55Marvin Harrison Jr.
00:30:56Probably not based off of.
00:30:57Yeah, this.
00:30:58I'd like to go in the trust tree for a second.
00:31:02Can I say something with full trust and can't be clipped?
00:31:09This is something I'm gonna have to get over,
00:31:10but it's just years and years and years of this.
00:31:16The minute Caleb Williams put in on the Bears uniform
00:31:19and they had him like running around as a quarterback,
00:31:21he lost all his swag.
00:31:23Yeah.
00:31:24And that's the Bears uniform.
00:31:24You have to overcome the entire.
00:31:25You gotta figure out how to overcome
00:31:28the Bears quarterback uniform.
00:31:29The entire vibe around it.
00:31:31Right.
00:31:32People were tweeting about it like,
00:31:32dude, this guy's got no swag anymore.
00:31:34I was like, shit, I kind of agree.
00:31:37I think he needs to do a visor,
00:31:38maybe some kind of cool arm sleeve.
00:31:41I don't know what it is,
00:31:42but it scared me because it was like,
00:31:44again, it's not Caleb Williams,
00:31:46it's the Bears uniform that scared me.
00:31:50Yeah, there's only so many things you can do.
00:31:52Well, it's just like I can't envision someone
00:31:55dropping back in a Bears uniform
00:31:56and throwing it down the field.
00:31:58What about pink shoes?
00:32:00That would be cool.
00:32:01Pink shoes, maybe.
00:32:02Yeah.
00:32:02That's a good idea.
00:32:03Marvin Harrison Jr. was invited to,
00:32:04did not attend the rookie premiere.
00:32:06Hank, speaking of which, did you see that photo?
00:32:10Any thoughts on your guy trying to steal a couple inches?
00:32:14No, respect.
00:32:15You gotta, it's.
00:32:16Did you see that?
00:32:17Yeah, yeah.
00:32:17You gotta take every inch in this league.
00:32:19Yeah.
00:32:20That's true.
00:32:21It's a game of inches.
00:32:22Al Pacino taught us that.
00:32:22Don't tippy-toe shame.
00:32:23He's one of the best NFL coaches of all time.
00:32:25It happens.
00:32:26But yeah, so the rookie premiere is weird.
00:32:29They just stand out on a field, right?
00:32:31And then they're just like,
00:32:32look, they're wearing their new uniforms.
00:32:33Yeah.
00:32:34That's it.
00:32:35That's all it is.
00:32:36Yeah.
00:32:37They like run around a little bit.
00:32:38Yeah.
00:32:38The NFL monetize anything.
00:32:39Yeah.
00:32:40Yeah, and everyone just, yeah,
00:32:41and then everyone just like,
00:32:42and then Dove Kleinman tweets something.
00:32:44Oh, did you guys see the fake news
00:32:45going around about Joe Burrow?
00:32:47There's fake news about Joe Burrow.
00:32:48Is it the hair?
00:32:49The hair, yeah.
00:32:50The hair went like mega viral and it was just,
00:32:52it was made up.
00:32:54Why did anyone think that was real?
00:32:55I never for a second thought it was real.
00:32:55I saw it.
00:32:56Wasn't he spotted at a UFC fight like two weeks ago,
00:32:58and he had-
00:32:59But it's just still, like,
00:33:00that was the fakest photo ever.
00:33:01He has longer hair,
00:33:02but it's that,
00:33:03they literally just took Anakin Skywalker-
00:33:05Yeah, right.
00:33:05Yeah.
00:33:06I don't know why anyone thought that was real.
00:33:08I don't know.
00:33:09He looked like an early 90s sitcom actor.
00:33:11Yeah, or like a hair metal band guy.
00:33:13Yeah.
00:33:14But then there was also the clip-
00:33:15If he had a mullet, that would be fucking sick.
00:33:17That would be sick.
00:33:18There was also the clip of Mahomes
00:33:19showing up to the first day
00:33:20and people saying he looked fat.
00:33:22I don't think he looked fat.
00:33:23He looked powerful.
00:33:24I, he also,
00:33:26I feel like Mahomes,
00:33:27you can't call Patrick Mahomes fat
00:33:30when you have three Super Bowl rings.
00:33:32Whatever he's doing is working,
00:33:34so just let him do it.
00:33:36Like, that's not a guy,
00:33:37you can't,
00:33:38you say,
00:33:38oh, a guy looks fat showing up to camp
00:33:41if they're like a second year player
00:33:43that had a disappointing first year.
00:33:45He needs to be sitting next to Andy Reid
00:33:47for all these pictures.
00:33:48What are we talking about?
00:33:49Patrick Mahomes fat,
00:33:50and he's not fat.
00:33:51And he's gonna play his way into shape.
00:33:52That's what, that's what,
00:33:53that's what training camp's all about.
00:33:55Yeah, like Eddie Lacey,
00:33:56when he showed up that time,
00:33:57he was fat.
00:33:58He was big.
00:33:59Yeah, he was fat.
00:34:00China food.
00:34:00That was fat.
00:34:01This is not fat.
00:34:02Yeah, and even if he's fat,
00:34:03you have the whole summer to run around
00:34:04and lose a couple pounds.
00:34:05Agreed, and he also wasn't fat.
00:34:05He just,
00:34:06he looked-
00:34:07He had a tight shirt.
00:34:08He had a tight shirt.
00:34:09He had a shirt that,
00:34:10he needs to do me and Max's shirts.
00:34:12That we can, you know, do this.
00:34:13The Instagram shirts, yeah.
00:34:15We're just pulling on our shirts constantly.
00:34:17I'm getting a lot of those right now, Max.
00:34:19All the time.
00:34:21And also, the best part about the shirts
00:34:23you buy on Instagram,
00:34:25that hide your boobs, allegedly.
00:34:27If you buy one shirt,
00:34:29you also buy 7,000 emails for the next year.
00:34:34And you can't unsubscribe.
00:34:35They figure out a way through it.
00:34:36And they're for other like fat-related products?
00:34:39They just, they just got you.
00:34:40They just got you.
00:34:41That's what you're signing up for.
00:34:42All right.
00:34:43My hot seat is Angry Birds.
00:34:47Angry Birds.
00:34:48You guys remember Angry Birds?
00:34:50Yeah.
00:34:51I replayed it like six months ago.
00:34:51Yeah.
00:34:52Angry Birds.
00:34:53So this one was crazy because I-
00:34:54Is it like a game that you can finish?
00:34:56Yeah.
00:34:57There's a bunch of levels.
00:34:59What happens when you win?
00:35:01You win.
00:35:01Yeah.
00:35:02So, I don't know why,
00:35:04this was at the top of my Twitter this morning
00:35:06when I woke up.
00:35:08Very weird.
00:35:09Angry Birds account,
00:35:10which has 700,000 followers,
00:35:12said, we sincerely apologize for an unfortunate incident
00:35:16that occurred on our account.
00:35:18Recently, in an inappropriate post,
00:35:20was accidentally reposted from the account.
00:35:22This was a genuine mistake.
00:35:23We deeply regret any harm it may have caused.
00:35:26Huh.
00:35:27Streisand effect.
00:35:28I need to find out what was said.
00:35:29So here is what they retweeted.
00:35:31This is the Angry Birds account.
00:35:33The game.
00:35:35This is from Jelly Quee,
00:35:39said, I used to jerk off to Angry Birds.
00:35:41When I was about 13, I loved Angry Birds.
00:35:43I had every game and bought every toy they had.
00:35:45One day I was playing Angry Birds
00:35:47when all of a sudden the big red bird turned me on.
00:35:49I couldn't stand it.
00:35:50I was going crazy.
00:35:51I decided to pull.
00:35:52And they retweeted that.
00:35:54I did not have Angry Birds on the bingo card.
00:35:57I see no problem in retweeting that.
00:35:59That's somebody that loves your game.
00:36:02Like if this podcast made people so horny
00:36:04that they had to jack off to it.
00:36:05It's so funny.
00:36:06I would retweet all those endorsements.
00:36:08Yeah.
00:36:09It's just like,
00:36:11why are they even apologizing?
00:36:12Because then I immediately was like,
00:36:13what did Angry Birds do?
00:36:16Some kid admitted that he jacked off to Angry Birds
00:36:18when he was 13.
00:36:19Who cares?
00:36:20But yeah, Angry Birds.
00:36:21Remember Angry Birds?
00:36:23It's a fun game.
00:36:24It's way.
00:36:25They have it at Topgolf though.
00:36:26Remember we beat that?
00:36:27We beat Hank in that.
00:36:27That's right.
00:36:28I think there was a movie.
00:36:29Oh, that's right.
00:36:30Yeah, they did make a movie out of it.
00:36:31Was it good, Jake?
00:36:32I didn't see it.
00:36:33That was one of those movies that came out
00:36:34like three years after the game was popular.
00:36:36What's your favorite bird from the games?
00:36:39I don't, I was a Tiny Wings guy.
00:36:41I still play Tiny Wings.
00:36:42I know, he's a good one.
00:36:43Tiny Wings is elite.
00:36:45I think I like the red one.
00:36:46The red one's the standard.
00:36:47I honestly don't remember the different birds.
00:36:49Do you remember?
00:36:50The yellow one's the boomerang.
00:36:52The big black bomb one, that did a lot of damage.
00:36:55Yeah.
00:36:56On the levels.
00:36:57Do you guys remember Flappy Bird?
00:36:58Yeah.
00:36:59The guy got so stressed out that he took it down?
00:37:03Yeah.
00:37:04Because everyone was getting mad at him?
00:37:05I don't remember that.
00:37:06Oh yeah, he deleted the game.
00:37:07And there was like a Flappy Bird 2.0.
00:37:09That was a big thing.
00:37:10Yeah.
00:37:11Temple Run.
00:37:11He was getting like, it was like a really,
00:37:13really hard game.
00:37:14And he was getting death threats.
00:37:16And it was like the most popular thing of all time.
00:37:18And he just deleted the app because he was too stressed out.
00:37:23Do you guys ever play the running T-Rex thing on Google?
00:37:26Like when you don't have internet connection?
00:37:27You know how like a T-Rex shows up and it's like,
00:37:29oh, we don't have internet connection?
00:37:31Did you know that's a game that you can play?
00:37:32No.
00:37:33That's pretty cool.
00:37:34Yeah, if you hit space bar,
00:37:35you like just run through all these levels
00:37:37and you jump.
00:37:38Oh, that's awesome.
00:37:38It's actually a great game.
00:37:40I play Tiny Wings on like every flight still.
00:37:42Really?
00:37:44I never got into those games.
00:37:45I was the old school.
00:37:45I was the only one.
00:37:46I mean, Snake was the greatest game ever created.
00:37:48Brick Breaker, probably, I don't know,
00:37:51a year of my career.
00:37:53My former career was Brick Breaker, just trying to beat it.
00:37:56And then I found out that when you beat it,
00:37:58you just go back to level one.
00:37:59It just goes faster.
00:38:00That was a bummer.
00:38:01And then Snood.
00:38:02Snood rocked.
00:38:03On the computer.
00:38:05What was Snood?
00:38:06No, Snood was good.
00:38:07I remember that when I was very young.
00:38:08It was like the blue guys that you had to shoot.
00:38:10You had to shoot.
00:38:11Actually, when he was very young.
00:38:14How young?
00:38:16I was probably like.
00:38:17Yeah, it's an old game.
00:38:18I'm old, right?
00:38:18What do you want me to say?
00:38:19These guys don't know about Microsoft Pinball.
00:38:21You know Snood.
00:38:22About the one that came on the space computer.
00:38:23Oh yeah.
00:38:24Oh yeah, Pinball rocked.
00:38:25Yeah, yeah, Snood rocked.
00:38:26Yeah, but yeah, the one that came on like every PC.
00:38:28Yeah, I would play that when the internet would go out.
00:38:32That and try and like every, I don't know,
00:38:36like two months, you'd get so bored.
00:38:38You'd be like, maybe Solitaire's fun.
00:38:40No, it wasn't.
00:38:42Solitaire's great.
00:38:43And when you win, the cards explode.
00:38:44No, Solitaire's not fun.
00:38:46The other Microsoft one where you just flick around.
00:38:48Yeah, I didn't know how to play that,
00:38:50but I would just like.
00:38:50Oh, the one where there were bombs.
00:38:52Like you had to figure out.
00:38:53I didn't know the strategy, but I would just.
00:38:55I would do it too.
00:38:56Oh my God, this just fucking brought back memories.
00:38:58Did you guys ever play the game where the guy,
00:39:00you were the guy skiing down the hill
00:39:02and then eventually a monster would run out?
00:39:04Doodle jump or something?
00:39:05No, no, this was like a addicting games or something.
00:39:09It was like mini.
00:39:10Addicting games is the best.
00:39:11No, it was like, would you draw the line?
00:39:14Remember that one?
00:39:14Oh my God, this is going to piss me off.
00:39:16You would basically do like, you would try not to crash,
00:39:19but no matter what, eventually like the,
00:39:23how do you say, abominable?
00:39:26Abominable.
00:39:27Abominable snowman would come out and just grab you.
00:39:31And that would be it.
00:39:32What was that game called?
00:39:34This might be a Mount Rushmore.
00:39:35I fucking loved that game.
00:39:37Best non-console games.
00:39:39Ski free?
00:39:41I don't know.
00:39:42I'm looking at a, I think it might be ski free.
00:39:46Yeah, it was ski free.
00:39:47Did you Google it?
00:39:48Yes.
00:39:49Yeah, there's the monster that would come out.
00:39:51He would grab you.
00:39:52Ski free was awesome.
00:39:54Oh man, I might have to play this game.
00:39:56Yeah, this might be a Mount Rushmore.
00:39:57Did you guys ever?
00:39:58Non-franchise console games.
00:40:00Like no Madden, no like.
00:40:02Yeah, Java Cafe, addictinggames.com.
00:40:04Did you play QWOP?
00:40:06Oh, that game sucked.
00:40:07The Runner?
00:40:08Yeah, you had to get all his body parts.
00:40:10If you can make it three meters with that runner,
00:40:12you're a god.
00:40:13With the keyboard?
00:40:14Would Backyard Baseball work?
00:40:16No, Backyard Baseball, I feel like that's too much,
00:40:19too similar to a console.
00:40:20And that was like a game you'd buy in like a store,
00:40:22I think.
00:40:23Yeah.
00:40:24No.
00:40:25Or like, you had to buy, ah.
00:40:27No, I think you did have to buy it.
00:40:28Yeah, I think you had to buy it.
00:40:29I think you had to buy it.
00:40:29You had to buy.
00:40:30CD-ROM.
00:40:31You had to get a CD for it.
00:40:32These games, you didn't have to get a CD for.
00:40:34Max Dirt Bike is the other elite, elite addicting games.
00:40:36Max Dirt Bike was a good one.
00:40:37Max Dirt Bike was great.
00:40:39We had one that all of them were blocked
00:40:42on our school computers, except for like.
00:40:44Slap the Monkey.
00:40:45Math, like it was like math games or something.
00:40:47Oh, The Rocket?
00:40:48Cool Math for Kids.
00:40:49Cool Math for Kids.
00:40:50And we would do Lemonade Stand, I remember.
00:40:52Crushed Lemonade Stand at school.
00:40:54Oh, I mean, The Goat with the TI-83.
00:40:56Drug Wars.
00:40:57Oh, yeah.
00:40:58Oh, yeah.
00:40:59That's so good.
00:41:00Holy shit.
00:41:01That was Grand Theft Auto.
00:41:01I sold so many Ludes.
00:41:03Yes.
00:41:03Mario Teaches Typing.
00:41:05Yeah, Mavis Beacon.
00:41:06Mavis Beacon.
00:41:07Good day.
00:41:08Yeah.
00:41:09Carmen San Diego.
00:41:10Yeah.
00:41:11Yep.
00:41:12Hot.
00:41:13Damn, hot.
00:41:14Oh, hot for sure.
00:41:15Agreed, Hank.
00:41:15Mavis Beacon, hot?
00:41:17No, I think Mavis Beacon was like an old goose.
00:41:20I think she was like an elderly goose.
00:41:22So it could be hot.
00:41:24How do we get here?
00:41:25Oh, Angry Birds, yeah.
00:41:26So yeah, Angry Birds had to apologize
00:41:28because somebody jacked off to them when they were 13.
00:41:31My cool throne is the Los Angeles Chargers
00:41:35because Jim Harbaugh is starting the process
00:41:39of changing the culture.
00:41:40Our friend, Sam Schwartzstein, reminded us
00:41:43or told us the story when we had him on
00:41:46about how when Harbaugh got to Stanford,
00:41:47he said, I am going to have to eliminate all traditions
00:41:52and things you guys do because you're such losers.
00:41:55I have to figure out what makes you losers.
00:41:58The Chargers had no music at OTAs.
00:42:01So Harbaugh took away music.
00:42:02That is maybe the first thing he saw and was like,
00:42:06is this why they're losers?
00:42:07We will find out.
00:42:08You have to earn your music.
00:42:09Yeah.
00:42:10I like that.
00:42:11I like that.
00:42:12No music, just pads.
00:42:12Whatever was happening before was not working.
00:42:14So everything's going to be different.
00:42:16It's a sound strategy.
00:42:17You guys are losers.
00:42:18Let's figure out why.
00:42:20So yeah, the Chargers, they're going to be good.
00:42:23Harbaugh will be in an AFC championship game
00:42:27over under four and a half years.
00:42:31Under.
00:42:32I think it's like, I'd set it at four.
00:42:35I think he'll do it in the third or fourth year.
00:42:37I think it's three.
00:42:38Yeah.
00:42:39Yeah.
00:42:40AFC championship game.
00:42:42Harbaugh, be there.
00:42:44We'll be there.
00:42:44All right, Jake, finish this off.
00:42:46My hot seat's the chain gang.
00:42:48Our friends on the sidelines might be losing their jobs
00:42:50this football season.
00:42:51No.
00:42:52Because tonight the NFL announced it'll run a trial
00:42:56throughout the preseason for electronically
00:42:57measuring first downs.
00:42:59Yeah, this is bad.
00:43:00And if it approves through the preseason,
00:43:02this is really bad.
00:43:03So this is bad and here's why.
00:43:05Every time you watch a game, you're like,
00:43:06I can't believe we're using sticks and a chain.
00:43:08That's what makes all the ball.
00:43:09It's a billion dollar business to figure out
00:43:11where the ball is, if it's a first down or not.
00:43:14I don't give a fuck.
00:43:15The chain and the stick is awesome.
00:43:18It gives you, it's like another play.
00:43:20It's a free play that you get.
00:43:21So if you're close, if your team's close to get a first down
00:43:24and you're like, oh, I don't know,
00:43:25they bring the chain out there and you get a first down,
00:43:27the ref signals it when they put the thing down,
00:43:30you feel like you just gained a yard right there.
00:43:32That's a huge win.
00:43:34Also, if you're rooting for the team that's on defense
00:43:36and you get what you think is a stop,
00:43:38you get to celebrate it because you get to hold your fist up
00:43:41and be like, yeah, we stopped you.
00:43:42And then the chain comes out.
00:43:44No, they didn't get it.
00:43:45That's another stop.
00:43:47It's another stop.
00:43:48It's one of the weird things about football
00:43:49that makes no sense at all.
00:43:51And if we were starting football from scratch right now,
00:43:54there's no chance in hell that there would be
00:43:56three old guys with sticks and a chain
00:43:59that run out on the field to measure things.
00:44:01It would be electronic
00:44:02if we're starting football from ground zero.
00:44:04But that's what we love about football
00:44:06is the weird shit, right?
00:44:08Yeah, no, this is bad.
00:44:10Yes.
00:44:10We need Chinese or Russian hackers
00:44:14to hack the electronic ones.
00:44:17Yes.
00:44:17We need something to happen to malfunction.
00:44:20We can't lose the chain game.
00:44:22Fly like an EMP drone over the electronic system.
00:44:25Make it fuck up.
00:44:26We can't have this.
00:44:27We can't have this.
00:44:28Hopefully the NFL has people
00:44:30and maybe our take's bad.
00:44:31Maybe people don't like our take.
00:44:32Maybe people don't even know this.
00:44:33No.
00:44:34I think I'm right.
00:44:35PFC, our take is correct.
00:44:37It's something that you would never see
00:44:39in a modern game that was invented,
00:44:41but it makes it feel so much more real
00:44:43because there's human beings that are doing it
00:44:45and not a fucking AI system that's doing it.
00:44:47Think about the J.J.Van Clowney hit.
00:44:49That's not cool if we don't have the chain game
00:44:52coming out and doing the thing.
00:44:53Yeah.
00:44:54Yeah, there's-
00:44:55Who was the guy?
00:44:56What was the-
00:44:56Nate's territory index card.
00:44:57The index card.
00:44:58Yeah.
00:44:59We don't have to do that anymore,
00:45:00but it still happened,
00:45:02and it happened because of the chain game.
00:45:03Yeah.
00:45:04Yeah, this is bad.
00:45:06It is.
00:45:07Very bad.
00:45:08I hope they don't change it.
00:45:09I really hope they don't change it.
00:45:10Yeah, I mean, they're doing it pre-season.
00:45:12The anticipation.
00:45:13All right, I might boycott some of the pre-season.
00:45:17No.
00:45:18The last game.
00:45:19Last game.
00:45:20They don't play anyone.
00:45:22Maybe.
00:45:23Yeah.
00:45:23But it's football.
00:45:24Yeah, but that last game always-
00:45:25At that point, we're just starved for-
00:45:26But remember, that last game always happens
00:45:28when there's real college football playing.
00:45:30I'm gonna boycott the second quarter
00:45:32of one of the games in week three.
00:45:34Okay.
00:45:35All right.
00:45:36You have our demands.
00:45:3724 hours to respond to NFL.
00:45:40My cool throne is getting hit by foul balls.
00:45:42Usually it's a bad thing,
00:45:44but this Blue Jays fan,
00:45:45she took a 110-mile-hour foul off Bo Bichette's bat.
00:45:48Do you guys see the pictures?
00:45:49Yeah.
00:45:50I have a bad take about this.
00:45:52But Bob is selling 110 cards of her,
00:45:57and the damage is crazy.
00:45:59She took it like a champ.
00:46:01I have a bad take about this.
00:46:02Was she injured?
00:46:03She has a black eye, and she had a giant-
00:46:06She had a huge hematoma
00:46:07that was swelling out from her forehead.
00:46:09It was massive.
00:46:10She looked like that, was it Thug Rose
00:46:12that lost that UFC fight?
00:46:14What was she wearing?
00:46:15What do you mean, what was she wearing?
00:46:16It was crazy.
00:46:17It was crazy.
00:46:17Where was she sitting?
00:46:19Oh my God.
00:46:20Yeah, it was crazy.
00:46:22Oh my God.
00:46:24Where was she sitting?
00:46:27She looks like JFK.
00:46:31All right, I'm gonna keep my bad take.
00:46:32There it is.
00:46:33Okay.
00:46:35Yeah, it was crazy.
00:46:35Tops is selling her card.
00:46:36Is there a video of the foul ball?
00:46:39I thought it was kind of lame to beg for a ball after.
00:46:42I mean, look at that.
00:46:43I did, I just, yeah, but I don't know.
00:46:44I just saw it, and I was like, okay, that sucks.
00:46:48She should've gotten a ball in the moment.
00:46:50Yeah, I mean, someone should've probably come over to her.
00:46:51Right, right.
00:46:53But then to wait a day and be like,
00:46:54hey, I didn't get a ball, give me a ball.
00:46:57Yeah, it's just common.
00:46:58I don't know.
00:46:59It's common courtesy that if you catch that ball,
00:47:01if it lands next to you after bouncing off her head,
00:47:04you treat it like it's an athlete throwing a ball
00:47:07to a child in the stands.
00:47:08You catch it, and you give the ball
00:47:09to that person that got hit in the moment.
00:47:11Yeah, she should've gotten the ball in the moment,
00:47:13but once the moment passes, it's like, hey, guess what?
00:47:17No ball.
00:47:18I don't let her earn it.
00:47:18I don't like her being on a baseball court.
00:47:20I don't like free, you don't get the free ball.
00:47:24She also got a ball in her head.
00:47:26Jesus Christ.
00:47:27Also, her name's Liz McGuire, like the show.
00:47:29I'll say this, she is way tougher than I am
00:47:31because I would fucking,
00:47:34I would've had a stretcher take me out.
00:47:35No chance I would've stayed there.
00:47:37It looks like she has a baseball,
00:47:39like the baseball went under her skin
00:47:40and is attached to her forehead.
00:47:42Where did she get hit?
00:47:43Where is the video?
00:47:44Also, where did, yeah, where was she sitting?
00:47:47I need to know where she was sitting.
00:47:48Wait, wait, wait, I didn't even get the ball.
00:47:50Lady who eventually got the ball
00:47:51that ricocheted off my face wouldn't give us the ball.
00:47:53That woman's the worst woman ever.
00:47:55Okay, that woman is the worst woman ever.
00:47:57You have to give the ball.
00:48:00Would the Section Channing give her the ball?
00:48:02Wait, so this-
00:48:03All right, I'm back on Liz's side.
00:48:04You know what?
00:48:05You know what, though?
00:48:06Here's the thing.
00:48:06She shouldn't have tweeted the Blue Jays.
00:48:08She should've found that lady's at and ended her life.
00:48:12So this lady, Liz, gets hit in the head
00:48:15with a 110-mile-an-hour ball,
00:48:18and she stays at the game for the rest of the game?
00:48:22As another woman takes the ball and leaves,
00:48:26as the Section Chance give her the ball.
00:48:29So what would you have done?
00:48:30Would you tweet the next day being like,
00:48:32hey, I got hit in the head, can I have a ball?
00:48:34I would, I honestly think I would've just tried
00:48:38to find the woman who stole the ball
00:48:40and just try to end her life.
00:48:41Yeah, it doesn't seem like she's begging for the ball.
00:48:43The tweet was-
00:48:44You let me hook me up.
00:48:46Yeah, if you read the tweet, it was like,
00:48:48hey, can you hook a girl up?
00:48:49Pretty good way to do it, but yeah,
00:48:50I think her anger, if she has any,
00:48:53should be reserved squarely for the woman
00:48:55that absconded with the ball.
00:48:57Yeah, I would've been like, I'm gonna find you,
00:48:59no matter what.
00:49:00Walked around the streets with a cudgel until you saw her?
00:49:01Yeah, like, you're fucking done.
00:49:05Also, where did she get hit?
00:49:07Because I know where she got hit in the head,
00:49:09but where was she sitting?
00:49:10Because there's nets everywhere now.
00:49:13How do you get hit with a 110-mile-an-hour?
00:49:15Maybe it was like a deep foul ball line drive outfield,
00:49:17like those back sections in foul territory.
00:49:21I don't know if those are netted.
00:49:22I'd like to see a replay of the play.
00:49:24Same.
00:49:25Because I just, I would like to see what,
00:49:27you know, did she try to make a catch,
00:49:30miss it, totally fair?
00:49:32Was she not looking?
00:49:33I don't know.
00:49:35I have her side.
00:49:36I just wish she had tried to strike vengeance
00:49:40with this woman, this scumbag who took her ball.
00:49:42That's a bullshit thing.
00:49:45That's a crazy fucking, that's a crazy hematoma.
00:49:48It's so big.
00:49:51Is this it right here?
00:49:53That, I haven't seen a hematoma like that since,
00:49:59since Rockman, the boxer, remember that one?
00:50:01No, it's like, there was one in UFC a couple years ago.
00:50:04Was it Thug Rose?
00:50:04Yeah.
00:50:06Foul ball.
00:50:07I don't think we're gonna get the video.
00:50:09Yeah, I mean.
00:50:10What if she just was drunk and fell?
00:50:11A lot of the broadcasts don't pan to foul balls
00:50:14unless they're close to being in fair territory.
00:50:17Yeah.
00:50:18What if this never happened and the Blue Jays,
00:50:20she's like a marketing plant.
00:50:22Oh.
00:50:23And the Blue Jays are giving her a ball
00:50:24to get all the good headlines.
00:50:26And that thing on her forehead is all stage makeup.
00:50:28We're on the internet too much.
00:50:29Yes.
00:50:31Yeah, all right, so my final ruling is,
00:50:33I back Liz McGuire.
00:50:36I wish she had not asked for a free ball.
00:50:37I wish she instead had tried to end this person's life.
00:50:41That's fair, right?
00:50:42Mm-hmm.
00:50:43Yeah.
00:50:44Or no, it would have been better if she asked the Blue Jays
00:50:47to find that woman.
00:50:48Yeah, hey, I got hit in the head.
00:50:50I didn't get the ball.
00:50:51Unfortunately, somebody else caught it.
00:50:53Is there any chance that you can have her killed?
00:50:55Yeah.
00:50:56That would have been good.
00:50:57All right, so yeah, that's the final answer
00:50:58is that her tweet, she should have said,
00:51:01when she said, can you hook me up?
00:51:03It should have been, can you hook me up
00:51:04with all the information of this fan
00:51:07so that we can end her?
00:51:08Yeah, with her home address, her work address,
00:51:11and a semi-automatic pistol.
00:51:13Yeah, okay, so good hot seat, cool throne, guys.
00:51:17Let's get some interviews.

00:52:47Okay, we now welcome on a very, very special guest.
00:52:50Fresh off his first major victory,
00:52:52the PGA champion Xander Shoffley is joining us.
00:52:56The trophy is in his background.
00:52:58It looks great.
00:52:59I also want to say, Xander,
00:53:01your hat tan line is starting to look
00:53:03a little bit better, too.
00:53:06When you won the, we want to talk about everything,
00:53:08but when you took off your hat,
00:53:11did you know in the back of your head,
00:53:12you're like, oh, this is,
00:53:13I've been playing a lot of golf in the sun recently
00:53:15and I'm like a Stewart Cink out here.
00:53:19Damn, I didn't know I entered that legendary status.
00:53:24Yeah, I'm made of wear.
00:53:25Don't worry, I don't get away with much with my team.
00:53:27So, my caddy told me he was, I took my,
00:53:31or he shaved my head, and while he was shaving my head,
00:53:33he was like, damn, dude.
00:53:34I was like, what, what?
00:53:38It was perfect.
00:53:39I mean, that's always, that always happens
00:53:40with a major champion, too.
00:53:41It's like something, they win,
00:53:43and then everyone's like, oh,
00:53:44how can we roast his outfit or something
00:53:46just to make ourselves feel better?
00:53:47But I want to go back to 18 and that putt.
00:53:52What were you thinking before that putt?
00:53:54And were you like, this is, you know,
00:53:57it was obviously not super far,
00:53:59but what was going through your head
00:54:01when you're lining up that putt and about to hit it?
00:54:03Yeah, I was nervous.
00:54:04I mean, it was a bad spot.
00:54:05I walked up, I saw left to right.
00:54:08I saw like left edge, left center.
00:54:10I kept reading it and I saw like right edge, right center.
00:54:13And then I was like, this is not good.
00:54:16You know, and then I was like, I can't call Austin in.
00:54:18It's gonna make me like doubt myself more.
00:54:20So, I kind of was, I just, I was like, screw it.
00:54:23I need to commit to this.
00:54:24And so, I actually didn't take that much time
00:54:25because I was like, the more, the longer I look at this,
00:54:28the more stuff I'm gonna see.
00:54:28So, I was nervous.
00:54:30I just ended up hitting it pretty straight.
00:54:33I actually, my putting coach texted me.
00:54:35He's like, he pulled it.
00:54:35And I was like, thanks, man.
00:54:38He's right.
00:54:39You know, I watched it.
00:54:40I mean, I've watched that putt now like six times
00:54:42and it looks like it's gonna miss every time.
00:54:45Yeah.
00:54:46Yeah.
00:54:47Yeah, it ended up being a fantastic putt under pressure.
00:54:49And the shot, I think it was two shots before that
00:54:51where you're standing in the bunker,
00:54:53your feet are in the bunker and you're hitting the shot.
00:54:56It's elevated.
00:54:57You and your caddie had a little talk before that shot
00:55:00and the mics picked up some of it.
00:55:02And it sounded like your caddie was saying,
00:55:04yeah, you know what?
00:55:05If you end up hitting that into the bunker,
00:55:06that's not a bad shot.
00:55:08It's a good place to be.
00:55:09And I thought I saw you give him a look like,
00:55:10hey, don't say that it's okay
00:55:12if I hit the shot into the bunker.
00:55:14But when he's guiding you through that shot,
00:55:16like, are you angry with him in the moment
00:55:18for being like, don't even introduce
00:55:20the concept of a bunker to me.
00:55:21No, no, he was talking about that middle bunker.
00:55:24He was like, cause I was like, you know,
00:55:25I want to aim really far right.
00:55:26And I was like, if I hit it on the right side of the green,
00:55:29no problem.
00:55:29And then he was like,
00:55:31actually hit it on the left side of the green.
00:55:32It's easier.
00:55:34And I kind of looked at him.
00:55:34I was like, you know, is it?
00:55:35But then I was like, I don't know if I should, you know,
00:55:37I don't want to think that hard.
00:55:38One of my goals was to keep it simple.
00:55:40So, you know, he's my caddie.
00:55:41I pay him to give me good advice.
00:55:43And so he gave me good advice.
00:55:44So I aimed kind of, I aimed far right,
00:55:47obviously cause I'm hitting like a baseball stance,
00:55:49golf shot, but I pulled it left of that middle bunker.
00:55:53And then luckily it didn't go into that left bunker
00:55:56cause I would have been a hard up and down.
00:55:56Yeah.
00:55:57And as you're playing that hole,
00:55:58is the thought in your head,
00:56:00like I don't want to get into a playoff
00:56:02where the playoff hole will be a par five
00:56:04and I'm going up against Bryson.
00:56:06A hundred percent.
00:56:07I mean, absolutely.
00:56:09Actually, I didn't even know.
00:56:11The playoff is actually an aggregate.
00:56:13It's three holes.
00:56:14Oh, oh.
00:56:15Yeah. I know.
00:56:17That and that's, yeah, that's just way more pressure.
00:56:19So, I mean.
00:56:20It's just, it's just a lot.
00:56:21Yeah. I mean, the momentum would be like, you know,
00:56:22he birdies the last hole.
00:56:25I mess up the last hole and don't clutch up.
00:56:28And then here I am like in a playoff,
00:56:30like where I feel like I shouldn't be.
00:56:32So I just was in like a seize the moment situation.
00:56:36And luckily that ball lived in.
00:56:37Yeah. Could you tell,
00:56:39was there anything that you could tell that was different
00:56:41about this last round?
00:56:42Cause you obviously you're unbelievable golfer
00:56:44and you've been in these big moments
00:56:46and come just short a bunch, but like that last round,
00:56:50I thought the, the bogey on 10,
00:56:52when it like the leaderboard switches and it's like,
00:56:55that's the moment where you're like,
00:56:56Oh, is this going to fall apart?
00:56:58And then you come back and go birdie, birdie could,
00:57:00was there something different about Sunday that you just like
00:57:03had a confidence to you or some, some feel to it?
00:57:05Like this is mine.
00:57:07Yeah, no, for sure.
00:57:08I mean, I, I, I had that sentiment, you know,
00:57:11I was, I was good all day about committing,
00:57:14like staying in my process, you know, all that nonchalant,
00:57:16all that cliche stuff.
00:57:18But I get to 10 and I'm kind of like, ah,
00:57:21I don't know how I want to hit this chip.
00:57:22And then I ended up hitting the chip.
00:57:23I didn't really want to hit.
00:57:24And then I F it up and I make bogey and I, you know,
00:57:27I get to 11 and I was like, I need to hit a good shot,
00:57:29hit a great shot.
00:57:30I get up to the putt and I look up to the board and it says
00:57:33I'm in second.
00:57:34And I was like, damn, you know, I was like,
00:57:36how am I in second?
00:57:37Like one hole ago I was leading, now I'm in second.
00:57:39So everyone, I knew everyone was birding ahead of me.
00:57:42And the big difference was, was, was just that.
00:57:44I mean, I, I had this overwhelming feeling of sort of not,
00:57:48not, not today, you know, like I I've been in this spot
00:57:51too many times in the last two years where I've sort of,
00:57:54you know, curled up a little bit and got a little like
00:57:58defensive.
00:57:58And so I just said, screw it.
00:58:01Like I need to, I need to earn this.
00:58:02I need to win this.
00:58:03I need to stay aggressive because guys are making birdies
00:58:05and I need to be one of those guys.
00:58:06And so that's what I did.
00:58:07Yeah.
00:58:08Did you do anything different for breakfast or,
00:58:09or for your meal,
00:58:10like a quick snack during your round that,
00:58:12that maybe switched up the vibes for you this time?
00:58:15No, just, it was,
00:58:16it was a lot of self-talk vibes that were different.
00:58:19Yeah.
00:58:20Just like confidence building stuff.
00:58:21Like, yeah, I mean, I always, yeah,
00:58:23I always am like pretty, pretty confident.
00:58:25I always am pretty like, you know,
00:58:28comfortable in, in these spots, but I just,
00:58:31something was, something was different this time around.
00:58:33I really felt like it was my time.
00:58:35It was like, it was my time to shine.
00:58:36Like after last week happened,
00:58:38it was a big letdown for me.
00:58:39You know, I, I got beat, he played way better than I did.
00:58:42I didn't give him any pressure.
00:58:43It was that kind of, it was like those last seven holes
00:58:45were like to be in a, in a final group on Sunday
00:58:48and to have like the first nine holes feeling
00:58:50like you're going to win the tournament.
00:58:51And then like two holes later,
00:58:52you're playing the last seven holes feeling,
00:58:53feeling like you have zero chance to win a tournament
00:58:56is like an awful feeling when you've pretty much
00:58:58like led a tournament for the entire week.
00:59:00So I know that feeling
00:59:02and I really didn't want to have that feeling again.
00:59:03So I just, I had to sack up.
00:59:05Yeah. And then, then you celebrate
00:59:07and you, it looked like a pretty fun celebration.
00:59:09I saw you drinking out of the trophy.
00:59:11I feel like you have to do that.
00:59:11What was the first thing that you poured into the trophy?
00:59:14Austin poured some cheap champagne into it
00:59:17and everyone was yelling at him and I looked around
00:59:19and I'm like, where are we going to get nicer champagne?
00:59:22And everyone's like, ah, right.
00:59:23So we all just ended up drinking it.
00:59:25It was like Andre?
00:59:27I don't even know.
00:59:28It was, it was started with a K.
00:59:30I have no, I mean, I was, I was drinking.
00:59:32They, a member at Valhalla was nice.
00:59:34He gave me cigars.
00:59:35He gave me whiskey.
00:59:37It was, it was a night where I don't, I normally,
00:59:40I normally don't drink too much, but you know,
00:59:42it had to be done.
00:59:43Yeah. Yeah.
00:59:44All right.
00:59:45I got a dumb question for you.
00:59:46And don't take offense to this,
00:59:47but do you feel like you robbed us a little bit
00:59:50of being the guy who can't win the big one
00:59:53as like media people?
00:59:54We love being like, oh, that guy can't win the big one.
00:59:57You kind of won the big one a little too early.
00:59:59I need another like five years.
01:00:01You want me to, you want me to bathe in my own shit
01:00:04for another five years?
01:00:05Yeah. Yeah.
01:00:05Because that's our favorite storyline, huh?
01:00:07Great golfer can't win the big one.
01:00:09Phil was like that for a long time.
01:00:10Yeah. Did you, did you kind of, Sergio?
01:00:12Yeah. Did you rob us?
01:00:13Yeah. You know what?
01:00:14I did.
01:00:15Yeah. Sorry.
01:00:16Maybe apologize.
01:00:17I don't know.
01:00:17I mean, you're, you're honest.
01:00:18At least you're, at least you're honest, you know,
01:00:20you're in this line, you're in, you're in this line of work
01:00:22and you're one of the honest ones to say that, you know,
01:00:24everyone else is like, oh, I'm so happy for you.
01:00:27Yeah. Yeah.
01:00:28They're thinking in the background,
01:00:29the back of their head, they're like, oh,
01:00:31we had so many more stories.
01:00:32Like, you know, like we could have done a big, you know,
01:00:35feature on Zander being like, can Zander win the big one?
01:00:38Now that you robbed them, you took food off their table.
01:00:41Yeah. Listen, Dan Marino has,
01:00:43has served that role very importantly, I would say,
01:00:45for NFL media for, for the rest of his life, right?
01:00:48Like the amount of stories,
01:00:50the amount of things that people got to say now it's like,
01:00:52okay, yeah, Zander, I guess, I guess he proved us wrong.
01:00:54Now we actually have to be creative
01:00:56and do something interesting with our job
01:00:57and try to actually dig into something deeper behind the,
01:01:01besides the fact that this guy just hasn't won a major yet.
01:01:04Yeah.
01:01:05Yeah. I mean, now he's got to go talk shit
01:01:06about someone else.
01:01:07Well, I just realized we played ourselves
01:01:09because I was thinking like, who's the next,
01:01:11can't win the big one guy.
01:01:12And we'll just say that guy will win a big one.
01:01:15No, it's not him.
01:01:16No, he's talking about Max.
01:01:19Yeah. He's going to win a big one.
01:01:20He's going to win a big one.
01:01:21Do you think Max has what it takes to win a big one?
01:01:23Of course.
01:01:24I mean, I think if you're,
01:01:25I mean, if you're a top player in the world,
01:01:26I think all those guys, I mean, you just,
01:01:29I am like, I can do an interview on close calls.
01:01:31So like, I, I know better than anyone else
01:01:34what it's like to just sit on the other side of the fence,
01:01:36like with pretty much your entire body over.
01:01:38And you're just like, what, what,
01:01:40why am I not on the other side of this thing completely?
01:01:43And so, you know, you just,
01:01:44you need some things to go your way.
01:01:45You need a good break.
01:01:46You need to be in the better wave.
01:01:47Like all those small things add up.
01:01:49And then at the end of the day,
01:01:49like you just need to really take advantage of the moment
01:01:52and, you know, put yourself in the position in enough time.
01:01:54So like, like I said, I mean,
01:01:55I know that better than anyone else.
01:01:56You're going to, you're going to,
01:01:58I kept saying knock, knock, knock on that door
01:02:00until you fricking bust that thing down.
01:02:02I just need to, I need a damn battering ram to do it.
01:02:05Yeah. And what you did on Sunday was incredible
01:02:07because it felt like, you know,
01:02:09Big Cat talked about when you,
01:02:10when you lost the lead momentarily
01:02:12and then Bryson hits his ball off a tree
01:02:15and it bounces perfectly into the middle of the fairway.
01:02:18I heard about any birdies.
01:02:19I heard about that.
01:02:20Yeah. That, that to me felt like, OK,
01:02:22the gods are just stacked against Xander right now.
01:02:25You see that stuff.
01:02:26Yeah. Like when I won the Travelers,
01:02:27I hit this ball like out of like towards out of bounds
01:02:30and it hit and then hit off like, you know,
01:02:32there's like a fence post like every four feet.
01:02:34It hit off one of the fence posts and then kick back in play.
01:02:37And I'm like, that was my break, you know, like from the golf gods.
01:02:41But then, you know, I hear about Bryson doing this
01:02:43and it's like, I'm sure everyone watching was like,
01:02:45oh my gosh, like this is his break.
01:02:47Like this is what you need to win a tournament.
01:02:48So it's fortunately, you know, fortunately went my way.
01:02:53Yeah. Have you gone back and watched your final round yet?
01:02:56No, I haven't.
01:02:56I've just seen the putt, you know, six times now, I think.
01:03:00Yeah, I would do that.
01:03:01I would do that if I were you.
01:03:02I would just sit there
01:03:02and watch my entire championship winning round.
01:03:04Yeah. Sit on the couch like everybody else.
01:03:06Yeah, for sure. For sure.
01:03:07I mean, you don't you don't seem like a guy that would do something like that.
01:03:10But when a championship,
01:03:13I would just have it be playing on loop forever for the rest of my life.
01:03:16Yeah. Yeah.
01:03:18Walk in my house and you have to watch the final round.
01:03:20You have no choice.
01:03:22Yeah, man.
01:03:23Download the MP three of the of just the announcers.
01:03:26And I just have in my car all the time.
01:03:27Yeah. Yeah. Oh, I would be a terrible champion.
01:03:30Yeah. Xander, I saw a winner.
01:03:33Yeah. I got a question about your dad, who seems like an all time figure.
01:03:37He's your swing coach, been your swing coach your entire life.
01:03:41That's that's nice of you to give him a job.
01:03:43He also I read that he watched or he didn't even watch you win this tournament.
01:03:48He was in a shipping container in Hawaii because he's building a family compound.
01:03:53So that alone, like what what happened there?
01:03:56And then I have a follow up question.
01:03:58Yeah. So a lot of that is true.
01:04:01He's been my coach for forever.
01:04:03I actually I actually ended up hiring Chris Como in November.
01:04:07We've been working together since November of last year.
01:04:10And so I've known Chris for quite some time.
01:04:13I had a mutual friend that kind of introduced us
01:04:16way back. And so my dad knows Chris pretty well.
01:04:18Chris did like a little golf channel thing with us when he was working with them.
01:04:21And so my dad just felt comfortable.
01:04:24He was like, you know, I don't you know, he's always going to be,
01:04:27you know, he's always gonna be my dad.
01:04:28But in terms of like the golfing capacity,
01:04:30he sort of passed the torch over to Chris and he felt like, you know,
01:04:33there's no need for him to be there if, you know, I'm there with,
01:04:37you know, the rest of my team.
01:04:39So he is he is definitely a character.
01:04:42His nickname is the ogre.
01:04:43Yeah. We can get into why that is.
01:04:45But why is that? Yeah.
01:04:47Tell us. It is pretty self-explanatory.
01:04:51But all right. So here's so how is the ogre, though?
01:04:53I've seen pictures of him.
01:04:54He's always wearing like linen and cool hats.
01:04:57He seems like he's like right out of a Tommy Bahama like catalog.
01:05:01Yeah. But he's the ogre.
01:05:03He's the I mean, the ogre is is more of a
01:05:05a he he he he handles
01:05:10he handles conversations and tough,
01:05:14tough, I guess, situations in an ogre fashion.
01:05:17You know, he's he's not afraid to to get he's enough to get in your face.
01:05:21Yeah. Like put it like that.
01:05:23He was like he was like that growing up, too.
01:05:25So he's been consistent on that front.
01:05:26Well, so that was my other question, because I heard this story.
01:05:29And it's a hilarious story.
01:05:32Your dad was your swing coach or is your swing coach your entire life?
01:05:35And he would not let you watch your own swing
01:05:39until you were 17 or 18 and even threatened your friends to be like,
01:05:42if you show him a video of his own swing, like you're going to be in trouble.
01:05:46Yeah. Is that true?
01:05:48Yeah. Kids are like, you know, kids are like,
01:05:51I'll be like, dude, like, come on, let's let me like,
01:05:53I need to see what's going on.
01:05:54Like, you know, I don't feel good about this.
01:05:56And they're like, yeah, no, sorry, man.
01:05:59I can't get someone else to do it.
01:06:00That's incredible.
01:06:01So why did he not want you to see your own swing?
01:06:04He just was like, you know, there's no he's like, one,
01:06:07you're not going to know what you're looking at, too.
01:06:09He's like, you're going to try and be too perfect.
01:06:11So he's like, what's the point in you looking at your swing and, you know,
01:06:14you know, making you want to lose your frickin mind.
01:06:16And so he's kind of right.
01:06:17You know, sometimes I look at my swing now and I'm like, luckily,
01:06:20you know, I have Chris to talk to about my swing in the videos.
01:06:23But sometimes I look at my swing and I'm like, I mean, it looks fine to me.
01:06:26And they're like, no, you're doing that wrong.
01:06:28And I'm like, I mean, I guess you're right.
01:06:30Like, I didn't see that. But sure.
01:06:31So we just let the pros handle that.
01:06:33Yeah, that's that's a smart move.
01:06:35Like when you're 16, 17, your swing is built up in your mind's eye.
01:06:39You have it like pictured in your own head what it looks like.
01:06:42And then if you see it, it's like hearing the sound of your own voice.
01:06:45And you're like, oh, my God. Yeah.
01:06:46It's like you see yourself running.
01:06:48You see yourself getting interviewed.
01:06:49You see yourself throwing something.
01:06:50You feel like you're Jason Bourne in this situation.
01:06:54Do you see a clip of it?
01:06:55And you're like, wow.
01:06:57Yeah, I got a lot of work.
01:06:58Yeah. People are roasting me online for my back swing.
01:07:01I got to fix something. So it looks better.
01:07:02Yeah, I just love the idea that he told all your friends,
01:07:05like, do not show him his own swing.
01:07:07And you're just walking around being like, will someone let me see my swing?
01:07:11I did see a picture of him.
01:07:13He's got your gold medal, or at least he did.
01:07:15Does he still have it?
01:07:16Yeah. Yeah. So, I mean, I have this.
01:07:18I got this puppy right here just for the just for the moment.
01:07:20It's going to go back to the West Coast.
01:07:21My parents are like the safe keepers of my trophies.
01:07:24And so they're going to I'm they're probably going to party way harder
01:07:27than I did with this thing.
01:07:28They're going to go around town in San Diego
01:07:30and let everyone drink out of it, if I had to guess.
01:07:32I love that. Yeah.
01:07:33Your dad posted kind of a kind of a thirst, trappy picture of him
01:07:36wearing the gold medal, just wearing like a swimsuit flexing.
01:07:40Yeah. Your dad's strong as shit.
01:07:41It's a speedo. Yeah.
01:07:43He's you know, he's got that old man strength.
01:07:46Yeah, I don't know how I feel about it anymore.
01:07:48He's getting he's going to turn 60 this year.
01:07:50So I'm sure I can I could take him at some point.
01:07:52I got this is another dumb question for you.
01:07:54It's something that we're planning on doing here
01:07:55because we saw John Daly's round on Thursday where it was reported
01:07:59that he smoked two packs of cigarettes, had a couple of cokes.
01:08:02And I think four Snickers bars.
01:08:04We're going to try to do the John Daly challenge.
01:08:06Do you think that's possible for us as a podcast to smoke 40 cigarettes?
01:08:11And and obviously the two cokes is fine.
01:08:13Max takes care of that in about five minutes.
01:08:15And the Snickers bar, do you think it's possible for a nonsmoker
01:08:20mere mortal not named John Daly to accomplish that feat?
01:08:23One hundred percent.
01:08:24I mean, it just depends on what's on the line.
01:08:26Nothing, right?
01:08:27Yeah, yeah.
01:08:28Just us embarrassing ourselves.
01:08:30Just the ability to say a lot.
01:08:31Yeah, that's a lot of cigarettes.
01:08:33I don't know.
01:08:34Usually when someone tells me I can't do it, I usually get it done.
01:08:36So it may take me may take me longer than others.
01:08:40But, you know, if you tell me I can't smoke 40 cigarettes in a day, I mean, I
01:08:43I might need an IV and a hospital treatment after that.
01:08:47But I think I think three or four of you guys can can rip through some heaters.
01:08:50Yeah. OK, yeah.
01:08:53Did you have a chance to talk to Scotty at any point this weekend?
01:08:55Because he kind of he kind of cucked you a little bit
01:08:58with the storylines being like, I got arrested and you just won your first major.
01:09:03Did you have any chance to talk?
01:09:05It was the craziest story.
01:09:06Yeah. Yeah, I did.
01:09:07You know, I he was he handled it really well in Scotty Shuffler fashion.
01:09:12I mean, he's he's a he's a good dude.
01:09:14As soon as I saw it, I mean, I won.
01:09:15I thought it was a prank.
01:09:16And then I saw it on the news.
01:09:17I was like, holy smokes, this actually happened.
01:09:19And then he's you know, I hope he comes out.
01:09:22It feels like he's going to come out like, OK, from all of this.
01:09:25It feels like things are going to get dropped.
01:09:26I don't know.
01:09:27But he's he took it like a champ and we're all giving them, you know,
01:09:32we have like a we have a group chat, you know, with our physio, our team or crew.
01:09:36It's like me, Gary, JT, Jordan, Scotty, Pat.
01:09:40We all share the same physio.
01:09:41So the boys were heckling Scotty a little bit.
01:09:45You know, just just just enough.
01:09:47Yeah. You got to change the picture of that group chat to the to the mugshot.
01:09:51Obviously, that happened.
01:09:54Yeah, that's good.
01:09:55I actually think that's what I want my boys to do.
01:09:57If I if I got arrested for not a really serious thing, just being right.
01:10:01Yeah. Let's roast.
01:10:02That's how you know you have real friends. Right.
01:10:04Right. So, yeah, I was thinking that the day that he got arrested,
01:10:08it was actually tougher for everybody else playing, not Scotty,
01:10:12because Scotty is riding off the adrenaline.
01:10:14It's fun to get arrested sometimes.
01:10:16And you're like, OK, sweet. Let's go to the golf course.
01:10:18Whatever. I'm out. I'm relieved.
01:10:19Everybody else is playing, thinking like, holy shit,
01:10:22I can't believe Scotty Shuffler got arrested for felony assault on a police
01:10:25officer like that.
01:10:26That screws with everybody else's brain out there to reverse psychology there.
01:10:31Yeah, yeah. Maybe. I mean, he and I mean, he should he played.
01:10:34He shot 66 coming out of jail.
01:10:35So, I mean, it's like it's pretty crazy.
01:10:38It's legendary. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
01:10:40I mean, I don't think anyone else can say that.
01:10:41No one else on tour has been able to do that one.
01:10:43So, I mean, he's he's he's definitely he's he's at the top of the mountain
01:10:46for several reasons.
01:10:47All right. I got another dumb question for you.
01:10:48Have you seen real bros of Simi Valley?
01:10:52No. Oh, all right.
01:10:53I know the main character Zander.
01:10:56It's actually Zander is how he pronounces it.
01:10:59But that's like that's one two of Zander's.
01:11:01I don't really know any others.
01:11:04Yeah, I guess that's why I've heard some guys yelling my name,
01:11:07yelling Zander. And I just I knew it was from something.
01:11:11And I just I my one of my roommates was from Simi Valley.
01:11:13So I guess I'm not too surprised.
01:11:15Yeah. Yeah. You got to watch it. It's very, very funny.
01:11:18It is. How did you make that decision to go by Zander, not Alexander?
01:11:22Well, my dad's German.
01:11:24If you've never heard him speak, so.
01:11:26My name is Alexander, but like when he would yell at me as a kid,
01:11:30it just sounded like Sanda, you know, like a German dude.
01:11:35I never realized how aggressive my dad's accent is
01:11:37until all my friends are like, dude, your dad's like really German.
01:11:42Just grew up listening, being yelled at by this dude.
01:11:45And then all of a sudden, you know, removed from him.
01:11:46I'm like, yeah, he does sound pretty weird.
01:11:48I'm not going to lie. Yeah, it's an awesome name.
01:11:50It's like very unique and cool. Yeah. Yeah.
01:11:53Yeah. I mean, easy. You know, X is nice.
01:11:55It's simple. Yeah.
01:11:57Throw the X going. Give it to you. Yeah. Did you?
01:11:59Yeah. Did you have?
01:12:01I would imagine you go online after whatever, after you party and everything.
01:12:07Did you have just a million people being like,
01:12:09I bet on you every tournament and finally did it for me?
01:12:12Because I feel like that was like a lot of people were like, yes, I've always.
01:12:16There's there's like a huge Zander crew that was like, he's going to do it.
01:12:20And that was their moment as well.
01:12:22I don't I actually I don't really have social media.
01:12:25So I have it, but I don't see I don't have any of my passwords.
01:12:29I don't see anything smart.
01:12:31But yeah, I mean, people will tell.
01:12:33I mean, I had like a I had like a 12 year old kid
01:12:36yell at me while we're playing, like, you're going to choke.
01:12:39I like I remember I was kind of walking and nobody just keep my head down.
01:12:43But I remember in my head, I was kind of like,
01:12:45what the what did you say?
01:12:47You know, where is your father?
01:12:49Yeah. What's going on here?
01:12:51So I can imagine, you know, I think I haven't won in such a long time.
01:12:55All the people that were betting on me,
01:12:57I feel like I hit this curve where it's like everyone was betting on me to win.
01:13:01And then everyone's like, this guy's never going to win.
01:13:03And so they just stopped betting on me.
01:13:05And then as soon as they stopped betting on me, I win.
01:13:07And now everyone's like, God damn it.
01:13:08Yeah. The true believers.
01:13:10There's some true believers out there.
01:13:11So shout out.
01:13:13Yeah. The OGs know who they are.
01:13:14Yeah. You know, there's some quitters along the way.
01:13:16And that's fine, too. Yeah. Yeah. That's funny.
01:13:18So I read that when you got married in your wedding,
01:13:22you dressed your dogs up in formal attire for the wedding. Is that true?
01:13:26Yeah. I mean, you think that was my idea?
01:13:32Like, are we just talking tuxedos or did one wear a dress or what?
01:13:35Yeah. I got an Aussie Labradoodle and a Frenchie.
01:13:38And my guy, my Frenchie, he looked like a stud in his tux.
01:13:42Dude, we PFT and I went.
01:13:43So I have a coffee company named after my dog.
01:13:46And we give some of the money to where I rescued her in Chicago.
01:13:50And every year there's a thing called the fur ball
01:13:53that it's literally like a black tie affair.
01:13:56And people bring their dogs in like dresses and tuxedos.
01:14:00Yeah. It's a crazy long dresses that like follow the dog around.
01:14:03It's it was awesome. It's nuts.
01:14:06But like you might have to have your dogs.
01:14:08They got the tuxes. Yeah.
01:14:09Yeah. No, I don't know.
01:14:10He's a little chunkier than he used to be.
01:14:11So I don't know if it's going to fit.
01:14:12But that's that's brutal.
01:14:15He tries to fit in the like, I can't fit in this anymore.
01:14:17That plays if it's a Frenchie, a Frenchie, like trying to squeeze
01:14:20into a way too tight tuxedo. Yeah. Yeah.
01:14:22That would be a funny look. Yeah. Yeah.
01:14:23That does play. It's a nice touch for a bulldog. Yeah.
01:14:26All right. Well, this has been awesome, Xander.
01:14:28I got one last question.
01:14:29It's a rollback question.
01:14:29RHOBACK dot com promo code take 20% off your first purchase.
01:14:34Q-Zips, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts, rollback dot com promo code take.
01:14:38I it's a longer question, but your your story is really cool
01:14:42because you weren't like coming out of high school.
01:14:45You weren't like one of these guys that everyone was talking about.
01:14:48And you end up going to a school that's not like known for golf.
01:14:51Like when you when you're like coming up and going through
01:14:55the qualifying and everything.
01:14:56Was there ever a moment where you're like this?
01:14:58This is I'm I'm just so far off because I even read a story
01:15:02about how when you were in college, your golf coach,
01:15:06like one of your first years, put you up against Patrick Cantley
01:15:09when you played UCLA.
01:15:10And he was like, I just want him to see like what the difference is,
01:15:13how far he has to go.
01:15:15And the story goes that you shot like a 76 and he shot a 63.
01:15:19So well, oh, you shot higher than 76 or 78.
01:15:23Oh, shit. But like that's it's a very cool story
01:15:25because it doesn't feel like you were one of those guys
01:15:27that was anointed from this this young age.
01:15:30But now you're one of the best golfers in the entire world.
01:15:33So in that process, was there a moment where you're like,
01:15:35this is I'm never going to make it?
01:15:37Yeah, I mean, 100%.
01:15:38I mean, I like I think because of everything you've just said,
01:15:41I just had this chip on my shoulder my whole career.
01:15:43And, you know, I am a firm believer.
01:15:45If you look at all sports, there's always, you know, the walk on type guy.
01:15:49You know, I had I was pretty I was I was a good amateur.
01:15:52I just, you know, wasn't my class is ridiculous.
01:15:54If you just look at the class of 2011 golfers, I mean,
01:15:57I can name like 15 guys that are all on tour that have won basically.
01:16:01And it's like that's just ridiculous to have a class where everyone's that strong.
01:16:05But yeah, I mean, I think coming out of college,
01:16:08my senior year of college, I went to Q school and I failed in second stage.
01:16:12I missed second stage by six shots.
01:16:14And so I was like, you know, I've been working my whole life,
01:16:16you know, like 21 or yeah, I turned 21 my senior year.
01:16:19So I was like, OK, like this is what I really want to do.
01:16:22And then so I go I go to Q school
01:16:25after I graduate, I end up getting through
01:16:28because a guy misses his putt on the last hole to let six of us in.
01:16:32And I was one of those six guys.
01:16:34So I get in on the number.
01:16:35Then I go to Corn Ferry Webcom at the time.
01:16:38I do my time there and I'm like one hundred and fifteen on the points list,
01:16:42like losing my card.
01:16:44And then like I rattle off like, you know, three, four top fives
01:16:48at the end of the year.
01:16:50And then I finished twenty six on the money list,
01:16:52missed out by nine hundred dollars to get my tour card.
01:16:55And I'm like, oh my God, this is frickin, you know, like I feel good.
01:16:58You know, this is this is not it.
01:17:00So then I go to the playoffs.
01:17:01I get my cards at the playoffs.
01:17:03And then I, you know, then I get on tour and I'm like, you know, same,
01:17:06same shit, different tour.
01:17:08I'm playing all year long.
01:17:09I'm like one hundred and thirtieth on the on the FedEx Cup
01:17:12because I haven't done anything.
01:17:14And then I Monday qualify for the U.S. Open.
01:17:16And I finished tied fit.
01:17:18And that just like vaulted my entire career from that moment.
01:17:21And then I ended up like I secured my card at the Travelers
01:17:23a couple of weeks later.
01:17:25And then I ended up like winning Greenbrier.
01:17:27And then my life just changed.
01:17:29So also it's like but until that moment, like until I secured my card
01:17:33at Travelers, I mean, I had I don't know where I had more relief,
01:17:36like on 18 on Sunday when I made that putt and like I put my arms up
01:17:40and I was so relieved or when I, you know, got my card at Q School
01:17:45or when I was able to secure my card at Travelers and then to win a Greenbrier.
01:17:50I mean, those are all like and to me, it was cool
01:17:52because it all they all just kind of stacked up, you know, they all stacked up.
01:17:56And I just kept going.
01:17:57And, you know, it's like, you know, you see other sports stories
01:18:00that are kind of like that.
01:18:01You know, it's like you don't really get your shot, but then you do get one
01:18:04and then you just take advantage of it and then you just can't look back.
01:18:06It sounds to me like you're like one of the greatest
01:18:09like procrastinator slash under pressure guys where you're like,
01:18:12I'm not I'm going to start playing my best golf right when I need to.
01:18:16Even the PGA where it's like, all right, enough.
01:18:18People are like, oh, Xander's never going to win.
01:18:20Now I'm going to win one.
01:18:21So you've got to put a little pressure.
01:18:22It's like then you just become the best golfer in the world.
01:18:25Yeah. I mean, I'm saying San Diego born and raised pretty late back.
01:18:28So maybe you're right.
01:18:29Maybe I need to get a little East Coast like energy into my veins.
01:18:33Yeah. So where do you go from here now that it's hard to have a chip
01:18:35on your shoulder right now?
01:18:37You're the hottest thing in golf.
01:18:38So what's how do you motivate yourself now?
01:18:41There's a chip on my shoulder.
01:18:43I don't think I don't think it's ever going to leave.
01:18:45Charlie Hoffman was trying to tell me there's no chip on my shoulder
01:18:47like a couple of years ago.
01:18:48He's like, you know, he's like, you don't have a chip on your shoulder.
01:18:51And I was like, I couldn't even give him shit
01:18:53because I don't know if you guys know Charlie Hoffman is.
01:18:55But he would have he would have given me shit about how he was right.
01:18:59You know, like he's just he's just he's just that guy.
01:19:01So it was funny.
01:19:03I was playing in Dallas and Charlie Hoffman's like,
01:19:05you don't have a chip on your shoulder anymore.
01:19:07And I was like this mother, you know what I mean?
01:19:09End up shooting like 62 in the final round to finish like tight fifth
01:19:13because I wasn't playing very well at that time.
01:19:15This is like two years ago.
01:19:17And I didn't text him because I knew if I text him, he would have been like,
01:19:19you're welcome. I told you. Yeah, right.
01:19:21Yeah, for sure.
01:19:22You know what I mean?
01:19:23So it's just winning one is is is a dream come true.
01:19:27And it's something I've always want to do.
01:19:28But I've always envisioned myself winning more than one.
01:19:30So Scottie Scheffler is at the top of this mountain that I've referred to before.
01:19:34And, you know, I think.
01:19:37When you're the number one player in the world, then you start out,
01:19:39you have to reassess, you know, what's going on and how to motivate yourself
01:19:42because you pretty much accomplished everything you'd want to accomplish.
01:19:45Yeah. But for me, you know, I'm the second best player in the world,
01:19:48which is an awesome accomplishment somewhere I've never been.
01:19:50But I'm so far behind Scottie Scheffler
01:19:54that it's like I just have to keep my head down and keep running.
01:19:57Yeah. Well, no, no felonies, though.
01:19:59Good point.
01:20:01Yeah, I mean, but yeah,
01:20:04for golf, though, you know, golf is such like a like a professional sport.
01:20:08Like Scottie's got four.
01:20:10He's from Highland Park in Texas or wherever.
01:20:11He's got more street cred than all of us.
01:20:13I know he's a bad boy.
01:20:15It is crazy that this is going to end up being like, oh, Scotty, like,
01:20:18you know, that's kind of cool.
01:20:19He gets he gets like one of his ears pierced.
01:20:21Golf. Yeah, it's golf.
01:20:23Like every other sport.
01:20:24You're like, oh, shit.
01:20:25Like, is he going to be able to make it in the season?
01:20:27And then now it's like, oh, he's a badass.
01:20:28Yeah. Yeah.
01:20:30Neck tattoo. He's going to be.
01:20:32You guys are. Yeah.
01:20:33You got a little teardrop on the teardrop.
01:20:35Yeah. You guys are just sitting around, you know, this beautiful country club
01:20:39being like this guy is just telling the story for the hundredth time.
01:20:41He's like, oh, yeah, they told me to stop and I didn't stop. Yeah.
01:20:44Oh, that also the chip on your shoulder.
01:20:50You just said it.
01:20:51The chip on your shoulder is people saying you don't have a chip
01:20:53on your shoulder. Yeah.
01:20:55So, yeah, you're a chip on the shoulder guy for sure. Yeah.
01:20:58Yeah. It's got a I mean, I'm aware it, man.
01:21:00It's there. It's not coming. I love it.
01:21:03Well, Xander, thank you so much.
01:21:04Congrats again, man.
01:21:05It's an awesome story.
01:21:06And best of luck the rest of the year.
01:21:09Appreciate you guys. Thanks for having me on.

01:23:42Okay, here he is, Brian Winhorse.
01:23:45Okay, we now welcome on a friend of the program, recurring guest, very special guest.
01:23:50It is Brian Winhorse from ESPN.
01:23:53You can listen to him on The Hoop Collective.
01:23:55Brian, actually, I'm going to do it from the start.
01:23:57You're going to be mad at me for doing this.
01:24:01We got to get Wendy's book.
01:24:02He told me not to do this.
01:24:04But I'm doing it as a friend.
01:24:06Looking to see if I have one.
01:24:07Yeah, we got to get Wendy's book.
01:24:08He's close to passing the advance so he could start.
01:24:12You know, that's when the real money comes.
01:24:14Yeah, I was listening to his podcast.
01:24:16He said it. He was a little ashamed that he said it.
01:24:18I was like, you know what? I'm just going to let's get it going.
01:24:20So the book is Return of the King.
01:24:23LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers.
01:24:26And we need you to we need people to buy it.
01:24:29And I also need an update.
01:24:30How strong is LeBron right now?
01:24:32Is he still so strong?
01:24:34So strong.
01:24:35Beyond just strong.
01:24:38So strong.
01:24:38OK, good.
01:24:39How does that work if we if somebody buys the audio version?
01:24:42Is there an audio version of it?
01:24:43Yeah, it counts.
01:24:44So I mean, like, you know, I've written, you know, just I appreciate.
01:24:48First off, Dan, I appreciate that. Yes.
01:24:50You know, thank you very kindly.
01:24:51It's always appreciative of you and your audience.
01:24:54That that book was the best New York Times bestseller.
01:24:57But, you know, the way it works is, you know, there's a certain line
01:25:00and we've been dancing on that line.
01:25:01The book's out seven years. Right.
01:25:03I've subsequently written another book also on LeBron
01:25:06that also was a bestseller.
01:25:10But I was just making a joke on my pod that I need the Lakers to win again
01:25:13because the last time the Lakers won in 2020, we had a night,
01:25:17you know, because normally you write a book about LeBron
01:25:19winning with the Cavs, about the championship, you know, by 2019
01:25:23when he's in L.A.
01:25:24That book ain't selling anymore. Right.
01:25:25All right. We're doing overseas sales.
01:25:28Then when he won in 2020 with the Lakers, you know, it's pure and mid COVID.
01:25:33People were like, oh, yeah, I'll take this LeBron book.
01:25:35And we had a nice bounce.
01:25:36So, you know, the Lakers, you know, get knocked out in the playoffs
01:25:38is is just hampering my chance to get past the advance, which is, you know.
01:25:43Yeah, maybe maybe you guys write a book and it would fly past the advance.
01:25:46But some of us, you know, have a harder time to do that.
01:25:48Well, let's get let's get our audience to buy the book.
01:25:51Maybe if we get past the events, you'll tweet out an update on LeBron's strength.
01:25:54Be like just, you know, breaking news.
01:25:56LeBron's still so strong.
01:25:58I think that's a fair
01:26:01deal that I can run past various agents.
01:26:04If you want us to help out with to really goose the numbers a little bit,
01:26:07we'll just report that you said on part of my take
01:26:09that LeBron is going back to Cleveland.
01:26:11Oh, and then now there's a sudden interest in LeBron's career in Cleveland.
01:26:15So what are the chances that Dan Gilbert gets on the phone,
01:26:18gets the band back together?
01:26:20Two boys riding again as one.
01:26:22Yeah. So this is how it went.
01:26:24LeBron went back to Cleveland.
01:26:28For Mother's Day.
01:26:29OK, I love it.
01:26:32I love it. But yeah, yeah.
01:26:34Wendy did not ask me to do that.
01:26:35I'm doing that because I love Wendy.
01:26:37So Dubai. All right.
01:26:38So let's talk some basketball.
01:26:41I want to start with we'll get to the Pacers Celtics series,
01:26:44but I want to start with the Mavs and the Wolves, because I think we,
01:26:48you know, all of us watch that game on Sunday night and saw what the Wolves did.
01:26:51And we were shocked with the fact they came overcame a 20 point deficit in Denver
01:26:57for this matchup, though.
01:27:00How do you see it going?
01:27:01I feel like people are forgetting the Mavs are also a very good team
01:27:04and kind of anointing the Wolves already.
01:27:07I think they're the better team, the Wolves.
01:27:08But do you think like how do you see this matchup playing out
01:27:11in this series playing out?
01:27:13First off, you guys are you guys is infatuated with Ant Edwards is
01:27:18as I am. I mean, I know that's that's a that's a Vogue take now.
01:27:21Like everybody says that.
01:27:22But like last year, I went to
01:27:27to a team USA on this month long trip to Abu Dhabi and Manila.
01:27:33I spent a month with Ant Edwards in Abu Dhabi and Manila,
01:27:36and he had never been overseas before.
01:27:39And in all honesty, he
01:27:42he later said that he kind of felt a little bit nervous about
01:27:47being on that team because, you know, he didn't know where his place was.
01:27:50And I mean, it can kind of be nerve wracking if you know.
01:27:53But this this amazing thing happened with that team.
01:27:58Steve Kerr
01:28:01kind of saw him as a six man.
01:28:04They were like, I think we're going to bring Ant off the bench.
01:28:07And he came to Ant before the play before they played.
01:28:11He's like, hey, you know, in Team USA, sometimes star players come off the bench.
01:28:15You know, Dwayne Wade in 2008, the Redeem team.
01:28:18Dwayne Wade came off the bench because, you know, Kobe was a starting two guard.
01:28:22And Ant was like.
01:28:24I was cool, but I didn't see Kobe on the roster. Right.
01:28:27And by this, maybe the third
01:28:32exhibition game, because they played like five exhibition games.
01:28:36Steve Kerr was like, yeah, actually, he's our best player.
01:28:40And so watching that process, I like walked away from that.
01:28:45Totally convinced Ant was going to have a great season.
01:28:48And so to see him do this has been awesome.
01:28:52And so I have no doubt at all that he is going to come
01:28:56into this conference finals with no fear.
01:28:59And he is not going to be, you know, influenced by the moment. Yeah.
01:29:03But I am a little bit worried about the rest of the Wolves with that.
01:29:06There was. Yeah. Yeah.
01:29:08I was just going to say there was a very funny moment where it was Cat and Ant
01:29:12after the game where they they were asking him,
01:29:14you know, usually have to lose in the playoffs to figure out how to win.
01:29:18And he said, God damn, how much do you want us to lose?
01:29:21Lost a lot in the playoffs already.
01:29:23Like, how much do we need to lose before we can win?
01:29:25And I get the feeling from Ant like he's definitely he has.
01:29:29He seems to have the mental makeup to not shy away from big moments
01:29:32and to be a guy that will step up.
01:29:33He has the dog, as we've said, he is a dog.
01:29:37But then you worry about a guy like Carl Anthony Towns, who he will play
01:29:41like for one half like a dog and the other half like a cat.
01:29:45And then you're like, how do you put this together?
01:29:47I'm not so sure.
01:29:48So the question is, does he have could he be the guy?
01:29:51Could he just put the team on his shoulders throughout a seven game series
01:29:55and be the best player on the court when you have a guy like Luca on the other side?
01:29:59Yeah, this is like they haven't been to this part of the playoffs for 20 years.
01:30:07Like 20 years.
01:30:08I mean, they hadn't won a playoff series for 20 years.
01:30:11I mean, so like this year they put out a press release at the end of the season
01:30:15about how they sold out the season, the Timberwolves did.
01:30:19And they sold out the season because they I think.
01:30:24And if this is wrong, I'm going to get through.
01:30:26I'm going to get in trouble. This is wrong.
01:30:28But I think they like covered up a couple of sections with like tarps
01:30:33and they sold all the available seats.
01:30:35This is like I remember when I first started going to Miami years ago,
01:30:39like when Dwayne Wade got there,
01:30:42they had sectioned off the up the highest deck of the arena.
01:30:47I don't know if it's second or third deck.
01:30:48The idea of the Wolves being this good,
01:30:53like they had closed off part of their arena for games, right?
01:30:56That's where the that's where the Wolves were. Yeah. OK.
01:30:58And so now they're in the conference finals.
01:31:01And so like calling them the favorite in the conference finals like is wild.
01:31:06Yeah. And you know, it's amazing.
01:31:08You know, I thought was was such a.
01:31:11Indication of the way Ant looks at the game.
01:31:14He wore the microphone in game seven.
01:31:17Now, what I mean, you know,
01:31:19obviously they want him to wear the microphone every game.
01:31:22And I think it's kind of like an unwritten rule that the star players
01:31:26kind of got to wear the mic at least once in the playoffs.
01:31:29Maybe they make you wear it once in the finals if you get there.
01:31:32The players usually don't want to wear that.
01:31:34And if they wear it, they'll wear it like early in a series.
01:31:36It's like, hell, yeah, give it to me.
01:31:38Game seven on the road.
01:31:40I'll take that. Mike, put it right here. Yeah, here.
01:31:43And I know that that sounds weird that I would focus on that.
01:31:46But that meant that before the game was like, yeah, I'm not worried at all.
01:31:49Yeah. Go ahead and record everything.
01:31:51I say, go ahead and record my trash talk, too, while I'm at it. Yeah.
01:31:55And so they haven't done it before.
01:31:57But his it's his leadership and his belief.
01:32:03I don't know, maybe he can carry the best thing because Luke has been there.
01:32:07Lucas, you know, been, you know, over in Europe.
01:32:09I know people don't give Europeans any credit,
01:32:11but go try to win a road game like in the EuroLeague,
01:32:15where in some of those places there's little there's fires
01:32:19and they have to have a police escort for the referees.
01:32:22And there's people are lighting coins on fire and throwing them down to the bench.
01:32:26And they have to, like, not let the visiting fans
01:32:29into the arena or have the visiting fans leave.
01:32:33And go tell me, yeah, the level of basketball is the same as the NBA.
01:32:36Luca won everything there was to win in Europe by the time he was 19. Right.
01:32:39So I'm not Kyrie has obviously played a ton of big games.
01:32:45There's less mystery for the Mavericks than there is for the Wolves.
01:32:49And so when you have a favorite.
01:32:52And what is the number?
01:32:53Do you guys know what the number is?
01:32:54I don't know what it is.
01:32:55I think it's it's not it's not it's not severe.
01:32:58It's like I think the Wolves are like minus 140 or something.
01:33:01OK, so it's not crazy.
01:33:03But yeah, they are the favorite.
01:33:05But yeah, you're right.
01:33:05Like the I so I've been on a little thing where I'm probably
01:33:09going to end up picking the Wolves.
01:33:11But I think that people have a perception of the Mavericks
01:33:14that is not what they have been doing in the playoffs
01:33:17and the cohesiveness of their team and their role players stepping up.
01:33:20And here's one that I would like you to maybe explain.
01:33:24Everyone just says Luca's defense stinks.
01:33:26I feel like he's been playing better defense than his reputation.
01:33:30And it's kind of one of those things that it's going to take a little bit.
01:33:32He's not a leader defensively, but especially the team defense.
01:33:35The Mavs have been playing has been a lot better than people assume.
01:33:39So when we get to this series, people are like, oh, man,
01:33:42this is going to be a lot harder for both teams to score
01:33:44because we know about Minnesota's defense.
01:33:46They were the number one defensive team for the last six weeks of the season,
01:33:49which is one of the most amazing things that we saw happen
01:33:53in the in, you know, over the course of the season.
01:33:56And the Mavericks fans are really pissed off that Luca,
01:34:00I think he got one or two MVP votes.
01:34:03They're like really pissed off that that the team didn't get more credit
01:34:06because they went 16 and two to finish the season.
01:34:10But, you know, it's most valuable player of the year.
01:34:13You know, that's, you know, not that he was terrible before, but that,
01:34:15you know, you can't disregard everything else.
01:34:17But the way that Luca had.
01:34:21There was a couple of times in their first round series
01:34:24where, like, I felt like Luca had never played defense.
01:34:27I'd never seen him play defense like that.
01:34:29Now, in this last series against Oklahoma City, his knee was bothering him.
01:34:33I don't think he was quite as able to dig in as he was against the Clippers.
01:34:38But there was like there was like one game against the Clippers.
01:34:41I can't remember was game two or three where I was like, oh, my God,
01:34:44Luca's like making game changing defensive stops.
01:34:49And they got him doing that the last quarter of the season.
01:34:52I can't imagine if you were a Nets fan.
01:34:56To watch what Kyrie is doing.
01:34:58Yeah, like he is the perfect teammate.
01:35:00He is creating no distractions.
01:35:03He is playing defense.
01:35:05He is like bringing people together.
01:35:08Like even if you're KD, you're KD out in Phoenix.
01:35:11You're like, wait, wait a minute.
01:35:13What is going on?
01:35:14And I don't know.
01:35:15Maybe it's just a Kyrie is like 32 now and he's not 28.
01:35:19But like this is the Kyrie that's a dream teammate.
01:35:22Even LeBron like LeBron was.
01:35:25Now, whether LeBron actually would have followed through on it.
01:35:27I don't know.
01:35:28And maybe Kyrie knew that.
01:35:30But like LeBron said on the record in front of people
01:35:34that he wanted Kyrie to kind of be this guy, he was willing to
01:35:37sort of shepherd him into it.
01:35:39I do think LeBron kind of saw him and Kyrie going for a while.
01:35:45That was impossible.
01:35:45Kyrie was like 25. Right.
01:35:47This version of Kyrie and this version of Luca is not what we have seen before.
01:35:52So, yeah, the Mavs, the Mavs can win it all.
01:35:56The Wolves can win it all.
01:35:57And that's why this could be interesting series.
01:36:00The other thing is.
01:36:02Two really good defenders that are underrated, Jaden McDaniels.
01:36:05I don't know. He's got 130 million dollar contract.
01:36:07He might be and he might not be underrated.
01:36:10He's awesome.
01:36:11And he's going to be on Luca that matchup.
01:36:13And then Derek Jones, Jr., who makes the NBA minimum,
01:36:17was available for anybody to sign,
01:36:20had was in Chicago there last year and just didn't work out as the Bulls.
01:36:24The Bulls thought they took him from Miami.
01:36:27They thought he was going to be like like this kind of player for them.
01:36:29He never by the end, he wasn't even playing.
01:36:32He is like them putting him in the starting lineup,
01:36:35like with about 20 or 25 games to go, help trigger Dallas
01:36:40being really good on defense.
01:36:42Well, he's going to get Ant, you know.
01:36:44And so those two matchups, Jaden McDaniels on Luca and Derek
01:36:48Jones, Jr. and other people will help.
01:36:50But Derek Jones, Jr. on Ant, that's going to be a big part of that series.
01:36:53Yeah, you are.
01:36:54You're always at the forefront of reporting on what teams are eating
01:36:58the best dinners together and having the best productive dinner meetings together.
01:37:02I remember you wrote an article about the Spurs legendary dinners.
01:37:05You told us about the the is in the Heat Celtics series last year.
01:37:10A dinner kind of galvanized the team
01:37:13this postseason.
01:37:14What teams are the closest off the court?
01:37:16I'm I'm behind.
01:37:18I don't have I think the closest off the court with the Knicks, by the way.
01:37:21Oh, yeah. Yeah.
01:37:22Well, they play those guys watching the Eclipse together.
01:37:24Yeah, yeah.
01:37:26Did they? I missed that.
01:37:27Yeah, they did.
01:37:28That's together. Yeah.
01:37:29Can I just say something about the Eclipse real quick?
01:37:31Yes. Go off.
01:37:32I was really negative and skeptical about the Eclipse,
01:37:36mostly because I was really annoyed I had to travel around the Eclipse
01:37:40and it was causing me a lot of problems.
01:37:42I was going to Ohio
01:37:45because my mom was having knee surgery on the day of the Eclipse.
01:37:49So she scheduled it like, you know, she was having a knee replaced.
01:37:52She scheduled it, you know, months in advance.
01:37:54Obviously, the Eclipse was known years in advance.
01:37:56I didn't know.
01:37:57And my sister was like, hey, maybe we should reschedule her knee surgery
01:38:01because it's in the Eclipse.
01:38:02I was like, what?
01:38:04We've been waiting for this surgeon for five months.
01:38:06We're not rescheduling the freaking thing.
01:38:08Yeah, that's a crazy take from your sister.
01:38:10Yeah, that's a great. Thank you. Thank you.
01:38:14So anyway, I was really kind of annoyed
01:38:17because in my hometown of Akron, like in Cleveland,
01:38:21it was like, you know, center of the totality.
01:38:23Yeah. You know, and I'd seen eclipses before and I was like, oh,
01:38:27come on, people like, what are we talking about?
01:38:30So I didn't actively try to get into the totality.
01:38:34I found myself there and.
01:38:38So I got the glasses, whatever, and I went outside,
01:38:40literally went outside the orthopedic hospital on the veranda
01:38:43to watch this totality eclipse.
01:38:45And it was one minute away from the totality.
01:38:48And I was like, OK, this is mildly interesting.
01:38:52I would look out the window.
01:38:53It is not worth traveling thousands of miles.
01:38:56And then that totality thing happened and I was like, oh,
01:39:02this is actually pretty remarkable.
01:39:05And literally in the moment that the totality happened,
01:39:08however, it was long, like four minutes or whatever.
01:39:11I get a call from the the nurse like, oh, your mom's been
01:39:15because we were like she had got her knee done.
01:39:17We were waiting for her.
01:39:18She was waiting for us in her in the hotel.
01:39:19And they're like, oh, your mom's in room 516.
01:39:22She's looking forward to seeing you.
01:39:24I was like, yeah, hold on. Hold on.
01:39:27Yeah, I'll get back to you.
01:39:28You know, she's just out of surgery.
01:39:30You know, yeah. Like, hold on.
01:39:31I actually came for the eclipse.
01:39:33The surgery was just a coincidence.
01:39:34We got a totality going on.
01:39:35Yeah, man.
01:39:36Change. I can see how that was team building.
01:39:38Yes. Yeah. Yeah.
01:39:39Team building of the totality.
01:39:41I could honestly see Kyrie Irving
01:39:43becoming a whole new man after an eclipse.
01:39:45Yeah, I could see him experiencing that and being like, you know what?
01:39:48This is post totality Kyrie.
01:39:50I'm going to be a good teammate.
01:39:51I'm not going to say I am making a note to ask ESPN stats and information,
01:39:56which is the greatest asset at ESPN.
01:39:58Yeah, people think that it's like Stephen A.
01:40:00Or it's like the the studios.
01:40:03The greatest asset at ESPN is the stats and information group.
01:40:07You can this is a secret that no one will ever tell you
01:40:12like these games where they're end at like two in the morning or whatever.
01:40:16And you got to be on get up like you roll out of bed.
01:40:19You got two hours sleep and you've got this packet of information
01:40:23from stats and info week we get on there.
01:40:27You know, the the Mavericks were shot
01:40:3066 percent coming off pin downs in the last 12 seconds of the shot clock.
01:40:36And that was a big difference in the game.
01:40:38They're the greatest. Yeah.
01:40:40I'm having stats and information.
01:40:42I'm giving them an assignment to look up Kyrie post eclipse.
01:40:45Yeah, I like if there's like one that number might be amazing.
01:40:49Yeah. If there's one thing that's changed, because I do feel like
01:40:52kind of a more serious level like Kyrie, he is.
01:40:55He's learned over the years, I think, not to
01:41:00he's learned the hot button things that he can't say to the media. Right.
01:41:04He can have whatever conversations he wants with his friends.
01:41:08But it feels like he's not bringing that drama as much as he used to.
01:41:13Yes, for now, without question, especially since there's things
01:41:18in the world that he could definitely comment on that would be controversial.
01:41:21Yes. So and by the way, now that I think about it,
01:41:26Dallas was like part of the totality.
01:41:29Yeah, right. I'm telling you, I think something flipped.
01:41:31Look it up. Look it up.
01:41:33He you have you have potentially identified something incredible.
01:41:36We got a reverse werewolf Kyrie.
01:41:39All right. So this is good. I can't wait to see the stats.
01:41:42I got a question for you.
01:41:43This is not Brian Windhorst opinion.
01:41:45This is GM's opinion.
01:41:47So it's a two part question.
01:41:49Rank the players all say all contracts equal.
01:41:53You know, you call up a GM who they would want over everyone else.
01:41:56Yeah. Luca Tatum and Halliburton.
01:42:00So that's the first part.
01:42:01And then I have a second part of that question.
01:42:03Luca Tatum, I think they probably take Luca
01:42:08because he's six, eight,
01:42:11and he can be such a difference maker in a single game.
01:42:15And then Tatum and is interesting
01:42:18because the ant defends man like this is the thing
01:42:22like when I see people rank these players.
01:42:27It's two ends of the court. Yeah.
01:42:28And not only does Ant defend, he wants to defend.
01:42:32This is the one thing I don't know anything about college basketball.
01:42:36I don't have time or I don't have bandwidth to study it.
01:42:41I do watch the tournament,
01:42:43which is not a responsible way to evaluate college players.
01:42:46So I would never come out and say it's a John Paxson way to set up for the draft.
01:42:51Yeah. The guy from Connecticut, Klingon, the center. Yeah.
01:42:57The thing that blew me away about him
01:42:59when I watched him was that he wants to play defense.
01:43:02What I mean by that is he like busts his ass to get into position.
01:43:08You can tell what happens on that end of court.
01:43:11He he feels personally responsible for.
01:43:13And that's one of the reasons why, to me, he is an exciting player
01:43:18because not only is he seven foot whatever with like a seven foot.
01:43:22I think Gavone said seven foot nine inch.
01:43:26I think I think Gavone said his standing reach is nine foot seven.
01:43:30So basically, if he gets on his tiptoes, he can probably touch the rim. Yeah.
01:43:34It's one thing to have that and then not want to play defense.
01:43:36I've seen plenty of players like that.
01:43:39You know, I've seen seven I've seen seven foot three guys
01:43:41who only want to shoot threes.
01:43:43Seriously, they have no interest in going into the paint.
01:43:46This guy wants that.
01:43:47And so that's why when I see Ant, not only does he first have to get super
01:43:51long arms, even though he's not super tall, he's like six four.
01:43:54He's got really long arms.
01:43:56He wants to defend.
01:43:58And that's the thing about Tatum.
01:44:00One of the things that happens at ESPN is that, you know,
01:44:02we always have these parlor games, you know, for first take.
01:44:06Who is the best duo?
01:44:08Who's the best guy to build around?
01:44:10Who would you pick to start a team with?
01:44:12And I am always going to default to the guys that play both ends.
01:44:16And Tatum plays both ends.
01:44:18And that's why a lot of people, I think, would pick Tatum.
01:44:21But Ant plays both ends and he wants it.
01:44:25Yeah, he wants the ball.
01:44:27He wants the microphone.
01:44:29Honestly.
01:44:30I would I was so impressed with him wearing the microphone.
01:44:34I microphone got if I was if I was in these drafts meetings,
01:44:38you know, I was listening to guys talk about what they got, what they got asked.
01:44:41But I know this is a big thing at the NFL Combine.
01:44:43This is a thing that's been going on for years.
01:44:47I would start asking potential top picks.
01:44:49Would you wear a microphone for this?
01:44:52I love this.
01:44:52I could just see it.
01:44:53Yeah.
01:44:53Brian, when you're sitting in like, you know, a front office,
01:44:57like a set of money ball and you got the during the Utah Jazz thing
01:45:01and be like, will you wear a microphone game seven?
01:45:04Right. Like you got the coach over there going, how would you execute this pin down?
01:45:10And you got, you know, the general manager going like,
01:45:13you know, what's your most embarrassing moment?
01:45:15You know, well, you know, the first time you were alone
01:45:19in the back seat of a car with a woman.
01:45:21What did you do? Yeah.
01:45:22And then I would be like, they get to me and I'm the guy like,
01:45:24you know, the consultant who's like, you know, got some sort of B.S. thing.
01:45:27Would you wear the mic in game seven on the road?
01:45:30That's that's what that would be.
01:45:32OK, that's my question.
01:45:33See you guys later.
01:45:34What about this?
01:45:34Do you think that that Jason Tatum is such a coward that he made sure
01:45:38that his team had home court advantage so he would never have to wear
01:45:40a mic on game seven on the road?
01:45:43Absolutely. I think there's no I think you should absolutely go with that.
01:45:46Take a look. Yeah.
01:45:49We're going to get back to win horse in a second.
01:45:50He's brought to you by Chevy.
01:45:51As everyone knows, this is a Chevy truck podcast up and down through
01:45:55and through the greatest trucks ever built.
01:45:57And our good friends over at Chevrolet have been a big part
01:46:00of the part of my take story throughout the years.

01:46:07It got us there safe and sound.

01:46:23For years, Chevy's been there for us and we're there for Chevy.
01:46:26I personally drive a Chevy. I love a Chevy.
01:46:28I love the Silverado.
01:46:30More importantly, it's the best truck that you can ever buy for tailgating.
01:46:33It's got unstoppable grit, legendary capability.
01:46:37It's dependable. It's commanding.
01:46:39If you're behind the wheel of a Chevy Silverado,
01:46:41you're going to absolutely fall in love with it.
01:46:43Just take it for a test drive.
01:46:44I'm sure that you'll love it if you're looking to get a truck
01:46:47or you're thinking about becoming a truck guy.
01:46:49Check out the all new Chevy Silverado.
01:46:51Check it out. Chevy truck grit.
01:46:53Build your own Silverado at Chevy dot com.
01:46:55Like so many other AWLs have done for do it yourself projects,
01:46:59road trips, off road adventures, tailgates, whatever your thing is.
01:47:03It all starts with a Chevy truck.
01:47:04And now here's more Windhorse.
01:47:07Yes. All right.
01:47:08So that's Celtics Pacers series.
01:47:10The Celtics are really, really good.
01:47:12Like I know that they have not played.
01:47:13Thank you for saying that.
01:47:15Well, it's it's it's it's unfortunate the Celtics play in a conference
01:47:18that is not good and they are a lot better than everyone.
01:47:23I they're very, very good.
01:47:24They very well could win the title.
01:47:26I would probably they're the favorites right now.
01:47:29Is there any chance the Pacers can win this series?
01:47:31And if they do, how does what what has to happen?
01:47:34It's so tough to say that there's no chance
01:47:36because I've seen the Celtics play in the playoffs these last few years.
01:47:41As I wrote in my 2009 book,
01:47:43what was the name of that book again?
01:47:45This what's going on right now reminds me of.
01:47:49In 2009, the Cavs won 66 games.
01:47:52They went eight.
01:47:53No, the first two rounds of the playoffs obliterated the first two opponents,
01:47:57but weren't like amazingly impressive.
01:47:59They just they got through the series.
01:48:01They had to wait nine days.
01:48:03And they played Orlando Maddy, Orlando Magic,
01:48:05who had just got off a seven game series with the Celtics.
01:48:08Same situation.
01:48:09Orlando wins on a Sunday afternoon
01:48:12and comes to Cleveland to play the number one seed.
01:48:15Sixty six wins.
01:48:15Celtics have 64 wins and the Cavs weren't ready for it.
01:48:20Now that Orlando team was not the sixth seed.
01:48:22They were, I think, the three seed.
01:48:24I think they won like 57 games.
01:48:26It's not exactly apples to apples.
01:48:27But I remember about that game is the magic hit the floor
01:48:31like they had been driving in a race going 100 miles an hour.
01:48:34And the Cavs hit the floor like they were slowly merging on
01:48:37like grandma looking over their shoulder with the turn signal on.
01:48:40And so that's one thing I'll say about this is that the Pacers have been playing.
01:48:46Meaningful, every game matters, basketball,
01:48:49even back into the back end of the regular season, because
01:48:52they were trying to get that 60.
01:48:54They didn't want the seven and go into the play in.
01:48:57And that's why they haven't lost a home game in two months.
01:49:00I think the last home game they lost was like March 18th,
01:49:04because all those games they had to win.
01:49:06And when you're when you're the sixth seed,
01:49:08you can't be losing a home game in the playoffs and think you have any chance.
01:49:12And so they haven't.
01:49:13They've got their approach to all those home games.
01:49:15Seriously.
01:49:15The other thing is, it seems to me like the Pacers fans don't sell their tickets.
01:49:20So, you know, the Knicks have a huge fan base.
01:49:22We saw them.
01:49:23And I know Philadelphia and Indiana, it's different.
01:49:25But, you know, I think there's not a lot of Knicks fans, Chicago area or whatever.
01:49:29When when when the doors opened up for game three, like all of a sudden,
01:49:33like the first 20 fans that came down to the court were Knicks fans.
01:49:36I was like, oh, boy, here we go again.
01:49:38Nope. That whole that whole crowd was was that gold, yellow,
01:49:41whatever you want to call it.
01:49:42That place is hard place to play.
01:49:44So I know that the Pacers are much more in rhythm than the Celtics
01:49:48because these two series that the Celtics had,
01:49:51they were not exactly put the the metal to the gas to the floor series.
01:49:56The Celtics have had time off and the Pacers are awesome at home.
01:50:00So. I do think this is not going to be a pushover,
01:50:05the Celtics are going to have to play. Yeah.
01:50:06And in the same sentence, same paragraph, I'll say
01:50:11the Pacers are there in large part because the teams that they played
01:50:14were so banged up, no Giannis, then Dame got hurt.
01:50:17Half the Knicks got hurt and they were already missing Julius Randall.
01:50:21I want to honor the Pacers in the same way as saying that
01:50:25they were the beneficiary of not playing a team like the Celtics to this point.
01:50:28Yeah, good answer.
01:50:30I think that's valid.
01:50:31That's valid because they did.
01:50:32They took care of business and the Knicks weren't necessarily
01:50:35like an easy out for them.
01:50:36That was a seven game series and they gave them all they could handle,
01:50:39even with the depleted roster.
01:50:41But I do feel like the Pacers, they can score.
01:50:44And the Celtics, they have a couple of games.
01:50:47It feels like every series for the last few years
01:50:49where they just forget how to shoot, where they can't make a shot.
01:50:53And if you do that, sometimes PFT, sometimes they don't dribble.
01:50:56Yeah, they forget how to dribble. Yeah.
01:50:58And if you can't if you can't dribble or shoot,
01:51:00the Pacers are going to outscore you. They'll be able to do that.
01:51:03So it's true.
01:51:03I feel like I feel like the Celtics should win this series.
01:51:06They should win it easily.
01:51:07But I wouldn't be shocked if the Pacers took too often.
01:51:10Yeah, I think that's a fair thing to say.
01:51:12The other thing is like the Celtics.
01:51:16They just.
01:51:18They've cost me so much time
01:51:21with my family the last two years.
01:51:25What I mean by that is they've had so many series that should have been over
01:51:29and that they messed around in when I could have come home in between series.
01:51:33That's when you as a as a media member, that's when you get acutely aware
01:51:38of every thing that happens in a game.
01:51:40And, you know, getting getting down three
01:51:43over to the to the heat and then winning three in a row and then losing game seven.
01:51:48If I was a Celtics fan.
01:51:50I don't know if I'd have been able to recover from the experience of that series,
01:51:54you know, and and so that's the thing.
01:51:57They never do what you expect them to do.
01:51:59Yeah, yeah, no. Yeah.
01:52:01There are two losses.
01:52:01This this playoffs have been like blowout losses,
01:52:06which we had, which had you scratch your head.
01:52:08But then what do they do?
01:52:10They just dominate the team after that.
01:52:12And it's like that was never even a doubt.
01:52:14They're so much better than the Cavs in the heat.
01:52:16Well, it's game twos, right?
01:52:17You're Boston Sports.
01:52:18Boston Sports in general cannot win a game two in a series.
01:52:21That's what Hank's been saying.
01:52:22So he's worried about game twos.
01:52:23All right. So, yeah, I like your answer, though, with the Pacers
01:52:27playing meaningful games, you know, the last two months.
01:52:29The Celtics have been on cruise control.
01:52:31I still think they're going to win this series somewhat easily.
01:52:33But that is a wrinkle.
01:52:35I had a question for you about.
01:52:38So I did a bad job probably explaining it on our show on Monday.
01:52:42But the Mavs proved the tanking works
01:52:46with Derek Lively playing incredible in game six.
01:52:50I remember the NBA media and everyone being like pretty upset
01:52:53that the Mavs were blatantly tanking when they still could.
01:52:55Luca was pissed off. Yeah.
01:52:57They still could have made the playing game.
01:52:58Is is the league going to now overreact to this?
01:53:01Because if I am a big believer, if your team doesn't have a chance
01:53:04to win a championship, think about the future.
01:53:07Don't think about playing in a playing game and getting one more home home
01:53:12court, you know, set sale for the owner.
01:53:15Think about the future.
01:53:16And that's the Mavs did. And they did it. And it worked.
01:53:18Yeah. And so Luca had in the closeout game against the Thunder,
01:53:22Luca had a couple of like alley oops to Derek Lively.
01:53:26And he kind of had like this sly smile at the end of the game
01:53:29in the postgame press conference.
01:53:30He was like, I'm actually pretty happy that the Mavericks got Derek Lively.
01:53:34Right. Which was his sort of I mean, it was already obviously well-known,
01:53:38but it was sort of his little like wink.
01:53:39Like, I guess it was worth it.
01:53:41Here's the thing about the NBA.
01:53:42You can tank.
01:53:45Just don't just don't say you're tanking.
01:53:47That's when you get in trouble.
01:53:48You know, when you say that you're tanking is when you get in trouble.
01:53:50And, you know, I think there have been a fine or two over the years.
01:53:55I think the Mavericks even got hit with it because I think Mark Cuban,
01:53:58like in an interview, someone said, well, we tanked.
01:54:01They don't care.
01:54:02They just, you know, you know, it's like it's like
01:54:06they didn't care that you rested the players.
01:54:09They just wanted you to like announce it in the in advance
01:54:12or sometimes not even say that they were resting.
01:54:15It's about perception that you don't need.
01:54:18Like, you don't need to bring in like a hundred thousand dollar consultant
01:54:23who's got, you know, three management degrees
01:54:25and 50 years of experience fixing distressed companies
01:54:29to get the idea that looking at how the NBA rules work and have suggesting
01:54:33tanking, you know, go tell the the San Antonio Spurs that tanking doesn't work.
01:54:38Right. Yeah. Excuse me. Yeah.
01:54:40They got Tim Duncan and they got Victor Wim and Yama
01:54:43by blatantly tanking in both situations.
01:54:45Yeah. So of course.
01:54:47And but not only that, but they the Mavericks.
01:54:51The one of the big problems the Mavericks had last year
01:54:53was that they were after the Kyrie trade is that they were ridiculously top heavy.
01:54:56They had those two guys and that's it.
01:54:58And Nico Harrison, who's their GM and Mark Cuban, who's involved
01:55:01with those kind of things,
01:55:04they really got creative in in ways to
01:55:09get a couple of extra guys to fill this roster out.
01:55:11And one of them was tanking to get Derek Lively.
01:55:13And by the way, they did a draft night trade.
01:55:16They they not only tanked.
01:55:18They did their work on the scouting end and correctly identified
01:55:21that Derek Lively was the guy that was going to fit perfect for them.
01:55:24And then when they and then they got their information by other teams
01:55:27and then when they got to draft night, they saw an opportunity
01:55:30to move back in the draft and maneuver a little bit
01:55:33and still get the guy that they wanted.
01:55:35And those assets helped them later on.
01:55:37They did a deal with Sacramento and they got kind of creative.
01:55:41And it's actually kind of fascinating.
01:55:42This trade deadline trade they made with Oklahoma City.
01:55:46They needed they needed an extra first round pick.
01:55:49They only were allowed to trade one because they traded a bunch of stuff
01:55:52for Kyrie. They needed they wanted.
01:55:54Well, they really wanted to trade for Kyle Kuzma.
01:55:56But Kyle Kuzma said he didn't want to be a maverick.
01:55:59And the Wizards actually allowed him to veto the trade,
01:56:02which is one of the most amazing stories of the NBA season.
01:56:07And they went on the record.
01:56:09Michael Winger, their team president, won the record and said,
01:56:11yeah, we we went to Kyle Kuzma and said, you want to go to Dallas?
01:56:14No. OK, see you at practice tomorrow.
01:56:17It was like they thought they were going to trade for Kyle Kuzma.
01:56:20But they made this trade with Oklahoma City where they traded a pick swap
01:56:25like in 2030 for a first round pick.
01:56:29And they used that pick to trade for P.J.
01:56:31Washington.
01:56:33I'm like, look, I'm not even blaming the Thunder.
01:56:34They that pick swap in 2030.
01:56:37Who knows where Luke is going to be?
01:56:38That might end up being a top five pick.
01:56:40I know.
01:56:41But P.J.
01:56:42Washington splashing threes on the Thunder when they enabled that trade
01:56:48may be a little bit harder for breakfast to go down in the morning.
01:56:50But they did a great job in Dallas to manufacture getting Derek Lively
01:56:55because they very easily could have been in like
01:56:58in and out of the playoffs and not had that pick manufacturing
01:57:02how to get a P.J.
01:57:03Washington.
01:57:04Gafford was sort of the backup deal when when Kuzma said no,
01:57:07but they did do that trade.
01:57:08They did acquire that player.
01:57:10And they've added three rotation players.
01:57:14One year to the next, like three rotation players on a conference finals team.
01:57:18Like that's not easy to do.
01:57:20And without without sacrificing either of their two top star players.
01:57:24So, yeah, Lively was part of an overall strategy
01:57:27by Nico Harrison, who, you know, is there is their GM or president?
01:57:31Whatever his title is, was really good work.
01:57:33Yeah, it's fascinating. Yeah.
01:57:35Yeah. It's crazy to go back and look how everything came together
01:57:37and they played it exactly perfect.
01:57:39And lively. So he's so fun to watch.
01:57:41He's so high energy on defense.
01:57:42He gets the boards.
01:57:44He does like all the dirty work.
01:57:45So I got a fun parlor game for us.
01:57:47You were talking about the the first take parlor games.
01:57:50Who is the best third option on any of the remaining teams?
01:57:54If we're doing if we're doing it like that, saying, OK, that
01:57:58the role players are going to be the difference in the playoffs.
01:58:00Who's the question? Third one is a good question.
01:58:02Thank you. I like it. Thank you. Yeah. Thank you.
01:58:05I don't care.
01:58:06I don't think you would make it to first take
01:58:08because we don't care about third options on first take.
01:58:10We only care about, you know, about seven different guys
01:58:12and about four different teams.
01:58:13Well, you guys do the Batman, Robin.
01:58:15Yeah, I mean, Rob, which is an important conversation to have.
01:58:17We don't do Alfred.
01:58:19Alfred doesn't make it. Yeah.
01:58:20I make the cut. Pardon my take, Alfred.
01:58:23Yeah, let's do the Alfreds. No, Alfred. Yeah. OK, got it.
01:58:27Really? Actually, really good question. Great question.
01:58:29You don't even have to answer.
01:58:30That was just. Yeah. Yeah, we're done.
01:58:32You keep telling me how great it was.
01:58:33Porzingis is Alfred there.
01:58:36Wait. And we don't know whether how good he's going to be.
01:58:39Wait, is Porzingis your Alfred?
01:58:42Yeah. You don't think so?
01:58:44I don't know, Robin. I think Derrick White.
01:58:47Derrick White has been so good.
01:58:49It's maybe it's just because Porzingis has been injured.
01:58:53But when Derrick White is going,
01:58:55that Celtics team feels like it has a different gear.
01:58:57He's playing like an Alfred. Right.
01:58:59I'll give you that. That's right.
01:59:00And Porzingis has been injured. OK, that's fair.
01:59:02I think they need Porzingis to be the Alfred. OK, that's fair.
01:59:06Yeah. But White has played like an Alfred.
01:59:08Yeah. He's a of all the classic Alfreds.
01:59:11Yeah. There have been more of a classic, more classic Alfred
01:59:13than Derrick White this year. I think not.
01:59:15Derrick White actually has been he he had a few games we played, but like Batman.
01:59:19Pooh, you know, you're not kidding. Superman.
01:59:20Yeah. So, you know, he did something interesting.
01:59:23They offered him a contract extension last fall,
01:59:26which I don't know how much they offered him.
01:59:28He turned it down.
01:59:30He's the contract he's on right now is like it's it's good,
01:59:33but like he is so much better than that.
01:59:35He totally like kind of bet on himself.
01:59:37And maybe it was a no brainer. Turn it down.
01:59:39Like, I don't know what the numbers were.
01:59:41Then he had this awesome season.
01:59:43Boston's got to pay him. Yeah.
01:59:45Like it's like so. So Jason.
01:59:48So Jalen Brown's 300 million dollar contract starts next year.
01:59:52It was signed a year early.
01:59:54Tatum is already qualified for his 300 million.
01:59:58Actually, actually, Jalen Brown's came in a little below 300.
02:00:01It was like 288.
02:00:02I think Jalen or I think Jason Tatum's is going to be
02:00:05about like 308 or something like that.
02:00:09So they're going to sign him.
02:00:10He's good. They're giving him 300 million. They have to.
02:00:14You got to pay Derek White, by the way.
02:00:16That's going to be an expensive team.
02:00:19I think Porzingis is your number one, Alfred.
02:00:22I think so. But.
02:00:26You know, like.
02:00:28PJ Washington was pretty important.
02:00:31He was big Alfred. He was a big Alfred.
02:00:33OK, Alfred. Yeah, I'm going to stick with Porzingis.
02:00:36OK, final answer. All right.
02:00:37What about what about the the Wolves, Alfred?
02:00:39Who's the Alfred that needs some?
02:00:41Because, you know, you'd think it would be a however you look at it, Rudy,
02:00:44your cat, but it could easily be a Jaden McDaniels.
02:00:48Yeah, I think McDaniels is big.
02:00:49But, you know, Nikoli Jokic, who is not somebody
02:00:53who I would say is effusive about too many things.
02:00:57You know what? He basically gave Mike Conley
02:01:02Valentine. Yeah.
02:01:03After getting eliminated.
02:01:04And also, you always congratulate the opposition when you lose,
02:01:08but you're not in the mood when you're sitting up there
02:01:11and you're thinking about your season being over.
02:01:14He took the time to basically completely applaud Mike Conley.
02:01:20And so while Conley is not going to put up 25 a game normally,
02:01:26he gets them organized because, you know, that team gets a little wild.
02:01:30You know, cat starts having possessions where things go a little crazy
02:01:33and goes a little off board.
02:01:35And Conley always does the right thing.
02:01:37Sometimes it's to get the ball and immediately pass it.
02:01:40He has the ball in his hand for two tenths of a second,
02:01:42because that's the right thing to do.
02:01:44Sometimes what he does is he gets the ball and he's like, OK,
02:01:47you go over here, you get over there.
02:01:50Rudy needs a touch.
02:01:51Rudy's getting frustrated.
02:01:52He's blowing steam a little bit.
02:01:54We're going to give Rudy Gobert a touch
02:01:56because it's going to help us on the defensive end.
02:01:57Mike Conley, I think, is there probably their third.
02:02:02Like Jaden McDaniels is more important, I guess,
02:02:04because they got to use him on Luka.
02:02:06But Mike Conley playing well and being healthy and doing his job,
02:02:09I think is third most important.
02:02:11And the games he didn't play this postseason,
02:02:13they did look like a much different team.
02:02:15They looked they looked way worse. Yeah, it's organized.
02:02:17It said that he was like, well, they're like, what's the adjust?
02:02:20He's like, we got we didn't have Mike Conley.
02:02:21It feels like the Timberwolves have several Alphards like Nas Reed.
02:02:25Oh, you could be an Alfred, too. Wow.
02:02:27Why? I love Nas. Nas Reed's awesome.
02:02:29Yeah, so much fun.
02:02:32And he that he that stretch he had in game seven
02:02:34was like a two minute stretch
02:02:36where he completely dominated the game on both ends.
02:02:38Like it feels like he has that every other game where it's like,
02:02:42oh, this game was just decided by Nas Reed.
02:02:44Just outplaying every man of the year.
02:02:46Yeah. Yeah. And he is so strong. He's so strong.
02:02:49There's you know what? There's a lot of super subs.
02:02:51You know, you know, you're talking about Alfred.
02:02:53Talk about super subs.
02:02:54I don't know. Work on your cartoon.
02:02:56Yeah. For that. Yeah. I don't know.
02:02:58T.J. McConnell. Yep.
02:03:00Guy is amazing. I mean, just watch T.J.
02:03:04McConnell play. It's just amazing.
02:03:06Peyton, Peyton Pritchard. Yeah.
02:03:08Who is an absolute pest when he comes in the game for Boston.
02:03:14You got Nas Reed defensive or a sixth man of the year.
02:03:18And Derek Lively comes off the bench.
02:03:22I mean, super subs like and by the way,
02:03:25that's one of the reasons why these teams are here.
02:03:26And because they have good pensions.
02:03:28You forgot Luka Garza.
02:03:30Luka Garza, by the way. Yeah.
02:03:33That dude is freaking ripped.
02:03:35If you see his dad, his dad's big, too.
02:03:38I don't want to mess with his dad. Yeah.
02:03:40I mean, that guy is even in a league where you see.
02:03:46Freak athletes, because
02:03:48with all due respect, like NFL players and baseball players. Oh.
02:03:52The freak athletes are in the NBA. Yeah.
02:03:55I mean, the players are not taking us.
02:03:57There's certain NFL players that are credit, incredible athletes.
02:04:01Like, for example, when I sit next to Shannon Sharpe on the set of first take.
02:04:05I look at him, he's like 50 something years old.
02:04:07I'm like, how the hell did anybody ever tackle him?
02:04:12Yeah. Ever.
02:04:13But even amongst the freak athletes with the NBA,
02:04:16where you've got these six foot ten guys who are ripped.
02:04:20Luka Garza stands out.
02:04:22Yeah, he's buff.
02:04:24And I loved it when, you know, it's like whenever you get Luka Garza minutes,
02:04:27you're like, all right, Timberwolves are rolling.
02:04:29So it's, you know, you've got a match.
02:04:31He's not quite Darko Milisic Victory Cigar, but I could I could see that.
02:04:37I would never say that to him.
02:04:38No, no, no, no.
02:04:39Please, no, please enter the game.
02:04:42Allow me. Yes, yes.
02:04:44All right. Well, Wendy, I had one last question for you.
02:04:46I you don't do predictions, by the way.
02:04:47When he doesn't do predictions, which I respect.
02:04:49I mean, sometimes I get like tricked into it.
02:04:51So maybe you're going to trick me into it.
02:04:52But I prefer not to. Yeah, you.
02:04:54I mean, like I said, I listened to you and Bond Thompson McMahon.
02:04:58And you you actually did
02:05:00accidentally predict that the Nuggets were going to win that series.
02:05:03By the way, shady business on that particular thing,
02:05:08because we have a group chat.
02:05:10We talk about the show before the show.
02:05:12I'm sure you guys maybe send a text to each other.
02:05:14Oh, yeah. No.
02:05:15And I said Nuggets are going to win the series like when it was two one.
02:05:20And they took that.
02:05:22You don't bring the group chat.
02:05:23Oh, yeah. Your different rules.
02:05:25Everything is said in the group chat here is said out loud.
02:05:27You know, it's fair game. Everything.
02:05:29That's why our pre-podcast conversation.
02:05:31Yeah. Yeah.
02:05:33Listen, there are no.
02:05:34I mean, we got when Hank takes a nap every other day, we tape him doing it,
02:05:38taking a nap like everything. I see.
02:05:39No, I got it. Yeah, I got it.
02:05:41Yeah. We're on the record all the time.
02:05:43So our pre-podcast conversations on text are basically just like,
02:05:46what do you guys want to eat for dinner? Yeah.
02:05:48And then and then if Hank tries to jinx one of our bets.
02:05:51So you're saying I got to take the L.
02:05:52Not only that, I made a prediction that wasn't meant to be public.
02:05:55That turned out to be wrong.
02:05:56Yeah. You can't make that prediction.
02:05:58Yeah. Yeah.
02:06:00Wherever you make the prediction, it still counts.
02:06:02Because that tells me that you do make predictions.
02:06:03You just don't want to public. Yeah.
02:06:05You don't want to get the backlash if you're wrong.
02:06:07So you have to be about that life on and off the court.
02:06:10Yes. Busted. OK. All right.
02:06:12So my last question, the rollback question,
02:06:15RHOBACK.com promo code take 20% off your first purchase.
02:06:19Q-Zips, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts, rollback.com promo code take.
02:06:22You don't make predictions.
02:06:24But if we were to see
02:06:28a text message on a group chat from Wendy, he would have said
02:06:32with the final four set, this team's going to win it all.
02:06:36Again, this is not a prediction.
02:06:38If Boston doesn't win, it's a terrible missed opportunity.
02:06:42OK. I like that way you spend it because that's not a prediction.
02:06:46Because like who is like Boston?
02:06:48First off, they've been here a whole bunch of times,
02:06:49like six or whatever conference finals in the last like nine years.
02:06:53LeBron's not in their way.
02:06:55The Warriors are not in their way.
02:06:57Giannis, who they had to go seven a couple of years ago,
02:07:01and they only won that series really because Middleton got hurt.
02:07:03Giannis, they didn't make it there because he was hurt.
02:07:08The team that the only team
02:07:09that handled them all year long in a regular season was the Nuggets.
02:07:12You know, I think they lost three games in Boston.
02:07:15Nuggets came in there and handled them.
02:07:18They're gone.
02:07:20Like, I'm not saying that, you know, Luca is a pushover and is a pushover.
02:07:24I'm not, you know, disrespecting the Pacers, but if you're going to win the title,
02:07:28how you got home court, you're playing the sixth seed again
02:07:32with all due respect to the Nuggets or the Pacers.
02:07:36They're the sixth seed.
02:07:37You're playing the sixth seed in the conference final.
02:07:40You know, if you're not going to win 18 banner 18,
02:07:45that's the whole thing about Boston, Boston, L.A..
02:07:47They both got 17 banners.
02:07:48They both won 18.
02:07:50When is it going to happen?
02:07:51Like, I mean, yeah, they've got an injury to Porzingis.
02:07:54But look at the other teams.
02:07:55Other teams have also had injuries, you know, so.
02:07:59It's sitting there in Boston's lap.
02:08:01They got to take it.
02:08:02Also, they haven't had to work.
02:08:04They hadn't had to stress the last half of the last quarter of the season.
02:08:07They haven't really had to stress in these playoffs.
02:08:10Like there's just there's just no assuming health.
02:08:14They got nothing to they got no excuses.
02:08:16OK, so you're saying it's now or never.
02:08:18Good, good non prediction.
02:08:19But I get what you're saying.
02:08:20Championship window closing on the Celtics if they don't.
02:08:23You know, I will say this this year and next year with where the Celtics
02:08:27salaries are, because you look at who they're paying.
02:08:30They're going to have three guys making 300 million porzingis.
02:08:34What he's making, they have to pay Derek White.
02:08:35They just extended Drew Holiday.
02:08:37They are not the the Clippers.
02:08:39Their ownership does not have one hundred and twenty billion dollars.
02:08:43They cannot. Historically, they cannot pay unlimited amount of luxury tax.
02:08:48Their team is set up.
02:08:49This particular group is set up for this year and next year.
02:08:53Then I think they will have to potentially retrofit a little bit.
02:08:56Doesn't mean they're not going to have Tatum and Brown in there.
02:08:58But if they're going to win it, it's it was even if they were playing
02:09:0186 version of the Celtics or the 97 Bulls or whatever,
02:09:06it was going to be this was going to be their prime, prime these two years.
02:09:09So even more amped up.
02:09:112024 and 2025, I'm sorry, are where the Celtics have to hit it.
02:09:15And this is this is a great opportunity right now.
02:09:18OK. All right. Seize the day.
02:09:19All right. Well, Wendy, you're the best.
02:09:21We appreciate you as always.
02:09:23Go buy a book so we can get an update on LeBron's strength.
02:09:26Thank you so much.
02:09:27And we'll see you on TV and hear you on podcasts.
02:09:31How strong is Luka Garza?
02:09:33That is he's so strong. He's so strong.
02:09:35I think you said so buff. Yeah, he's buff.
02:09:37That's different and strong, by the way.
02:09:39Yeah, I one tends to go with the other.
02:09:41But Luka Garza, I'm just telling you, man,
02:09:45don't bleep talk Luka Garza. OK.
02:09:49That's good. Good, lasting advice.
02:09:50And tell us about Kyrie's eclipse stats, too.
02:09:52Yeah. Let us know.
02:09:53Even if I'm going to get back to you on that.
02:09:55I'm like one small part of his game, if that's all that it takes.
02:09:57That's taken enormous leaps.
02:09:59And we'll just run with that zone of totality.
02:10:01That's what they should call his cheering section in Dallas.
02:10:04The zone of totality. I love it. I love it.
02:10:06All right. Thank you so much, Wendy.
02:10:08Take care, guys.
02:10:11We got part of your take coming up, Max, going in this ad read,
02:10:14you had a take that I think actually could be on part on your take.
02:10:16What is it?
02:10:18The EA Sports College football franchise, best franchise in all video games.
02:10:21I would agree with that. I agree.
02:10:23That's a solid take.
02:10:24So this entire segment is brought to you by EA Sports.
02:10:27Very excited. We saw the trailer.
02:10:29The trailer dropped on on Friday.
02:10:30Credible. It was awesome.
02:10:32I love that there was allegations of maybe trolling Ohio State.
02:10:36This is college football.
02:10:37It's the most college football thing ever, where you can drop a video game
02:10:40and the trailer for it makes people mad because their team wasn't featured enough.
02:10:43And this is why I mean, this is why it's the best game,
02:10:46because it's the most passionate fan bases and an incredible video game.
02:10:50Put them together as nonstop content.
02:10:53Great times. Great times.
02:10:54College Football 25 coming out.
02:10:56They have a new feature campus IQ gameplay, all new composure system,
02:11:00player wear and tear, home field advantage and diverse play styles
02:11:04across 134 FBS teams through Dynasty.
02:11:07You can create a coach like Doug's.
02:11:09You can upgrade their abilities.
02:11:11You can establish your staff, then recruit the best talent
02:11:14either straight from high school or direct from the transfer portal.
02:11:18Preorder the MVP bundle.
02:11:19You can get College Football 25 and Madden NFL 25
02:11:23plus can't miss rewards in both.
02:11:26Check it out.
02:11:27Order the MVP bundle.
02:11:28You can preorder that right now and you get College Football 25 and Madden NFL 25.
02:11:34Max, is that your best take ever?
02:11:36It might be.
02:11:36No, it might be.
02:11:38Yeah, I can't wait for this game.
02:11:39I cannot wait for this game.
02:11:41All right, Hank, pardon your takes.
02:11:43Hey, guys.
02:11:44Hey, Hank.
02:11:45I have sports theory about the PGA.
02:11:47Oh, I have reasons to believe that Scotty was set up to be arrested.
02:11:51If you look at the PGA numbers the day before, it was extremely down
02:11:55and they've been down all season.
02:11:56That's a little editorial I added.
02:11:58Oh, so. Oh, that was Liv, Hank.
02:12:01It's just a fact.
02:12:03They paid a cop to tell Scotty the wrong information.
02:12:05The police department knew what time he'd be coming in and what car he would be in.
02:12:09I believe it was set up for a large number of views the next couple of days.
02:12:12Zander, a PGA stand, was given the opportunity to make a great story,
02:12:16which he did.
02:12:17The story doesn't add up.
02:12:18I'll be doing more investigating to that subject.
02:12:20Have a great day.
02:12:20I like this. I like this a lot.
02:12:22False flag arrest.
02:12:23Look up Operation Northwoods.
02:12:25We have a history of this type of stuff.
02:12:28What happened in Operation Northwoods?
02:12:29The CIA was trying to have people hijack airplanes and then crash them
02:12:33and then blame it on the government of Cuba.
02:12:35So we'd invade Cuba.
02:12:36Oh, and then John F.
02:12:37Kennedy said, no, we're not going to do that
02:12:39because we're not going to murder our own citizens.
02:12:41And then the CIA killed him.
02:12:42Oh, but yeah, same thing.
02:12:45Same thing.
02:12:46Same thing happened with Scotty Shuffler.
02:12:47Cuba arrested Scotty Shuffler.
02:12:49History doesn't necessarily repeat itself, but sometimes it rhymes.
02:12:52I like this take a lot.
02:12:54I mean, that was a story that took over the entire Internet
02:12:59that like casual fans, sports fans had to have seen.
02:13:04It led everything.
02:13:05And Scotty winning would have been boring for the sport.
02:13:08Right.
02:13:09So they're like, what if Scotty winning with a felony?
02:13:12Well, like, how do we get him to not win?
02:13:14Well, that wasn't why he didn't win.
02:13:16He didn't win because he just didn't have his caddy on Saturday.
02:13:18Also, Jeff, the craziest story ever.
02:13:20Jeff Darlington.
02:13:21He's an NFL guy. Yeah.
02:13:23He happened to be there.
02:13:24Oh, to be the one that saw this. Interesting.
02:13:27That is interesting, isn't it?
02:13:28Maybe Schefter, because, you know, Schefter's in the Illuminati.
02:13:31He probably was like, I'll throw you a bone, Jeff Darlington.
02:13:34Mm hmm. You can have this one.
02:13:36Well, I was thinking that if it was a PGA reporter,
02:13:38if it was someone esteemed like true and Rappaport that was there,
02:13:42you would never go along with anything like this. True.
02:13:44But you call in a hired gun from the from the outside.
02:13:46Darlington's your patsy.
02:13:48He brings you in.
02:13:49Now you've got to report front and center video evidence.
02:13:51Why did it take an hour for Jeff to release the video
02:13:54that he took of Scotty getting arrested?
02:13:56Have you thought about that one?
02:13:57He had the video before he had the tweet, but he put the tweet out first.
02:14:01Then an hour later, put out the video.
02:14:03Was it edited? Yeah.
02:14:05He had to send it back to Bristol.
02:14:06Yeah, this all makes sense.
02:14:08I like it. Yeah.
02:14:09Good. All because they're scared of Hank and the live boys.
02:14:12It's good take an idea that will write all that is wrong with this country.
02:14:17Oh, prison league basketball is televised and in ranked bracket.
02:14:22Winning team is freed from prison.
02:14:24Yeah. OK. Yeah.
02:14:25In. Yeah, sure.
02:14:26100% in. What I heard was more sports.
02:14:30I'm actually shocked that Mr.
02:14:32Beast hasn't figured out a way to, like, do like a free the prisoners.
02:14:35I got a thousand prisoners and I see which one could stand for the longest.
02:14:41Like that. Doesn't that feel like something he's maybe working on?
02:14:44Like squid games? Yeah. Yeah.
02:14:47I could see it.
02:14:47I built a giant horse and I put a bunch of soldiers inside of it.
02:14:51And now we're wheeling it up to Moscow, Russia to see if they accept this gift.
02:14:55Yeah, I could see it for sure.
02:14:58I have a question that should have happened a few weeks ago.
02:15:01Oh, but do you think when a player is surrounded by a bunch of other four
02:15:05or five star prospects that it hurts a player's potential growth?
02:15:09One school that specifically comes to mind is Alabama.
02:15:12Outside of wide receiver running back, they historically don't have great
02:15:15NFL showing despite being drafted high.
02:15:18I am not an Alabama hater.
02:15:20That's also not true.
02:15:21But there are many situations I think what he's talking about is
02:15:23quarterback standouts, Bama, Ohio State, Clemson, et cetera,
02:15:26that don't perform well in NFL offensive linemen and quarterbacks stick out.
02:15:29Particularly. Yeah.
02:15:30So quarter, I guess you could say in recent history, Alabama,
02:15:35your mouth's big cat. No, I know.
02:15:36Ohio State. Yeah.
02:15:38Ohio State forever.
02:15:39The quarterbacks don't pan out.
02:15:41Maybe it's because they've got great receipt.
02:15:42They don't have to work on the small details as much as the guys that
02:15:46that don't have all that talent around them.
02:15:48But then how would you explain Joe Burrow?
02:15:51It's a fair point.
02:15:52LSU. Right.
02:15:54He had great receivers.
02:15:55Justin Jefferson.
02:15:57Like he had incredible receivers around him.
02:15:59But they're not traditionally a quarterback.
02:16:01No, but I'm saying like, how would you explain a guy like that who is good
02:16:05in in college with incredible talent and then also good in the NFL?
02:16:10He was actually the double threat.
02:16:11He was LSU and Ohio State. Yeah.
02:16:15No, this is a regular take.
02:16:17I kind of agree with it because you guys get if you're
02:16:20if everyone is always open, it's going to be easier and harder to great.
02:16:23But what about quarterbacks that go to maybe not as good of a program
02:16:27and they play worse competition?
02:16:30So it's easier for them because they're not playing as good defenses.
02:16:34Josh Allen.
02:16:35Jay Cutler was really the best example of this.
02:16:37Yeah. Cutler at Vandy.
02:16:39Caleb Williams didn't have great receivers gets to the NFL,
02:16:43but he's still used to playing against SEC defense.
02:16:46It turns out that it's just hard to pick quarterbacks.
02:16:49Yeah, probably.
02:16:51All right, last one.
02:16:52The NBA season should start in December and final should finish
02:16:55first week of August. Yes.
02:16:57Fully indoors, so the weather doesn't matter.
02:16:59It fills the void of no major sports in July and early August,
02:17:02and it'd compete with NFL viewers for less than two months
02:17:06or for two less months. Everybody wins.
02:17:08I don't think it should go to August
02:17:11because like when you're in July, you don't you want to be sitting inside
02:17:14watching like sports the whole time.
02:17:17If it's the NBA, if it's like the conference championship.
02:17:19But I am a big proponent of starting it like 60 game season
02:17:23started on December 25th.
02:17:25Remember the year the lockout year? Yeah.
02:17:26Started. That was awesome.
02:17:27It's good. Best schedule.
02:17:28What if it was the NHL that did that?
02:17:31That way you get to go to hockey games in July.
02:17:33It's nice and cool in there.
02:17:35Yeah, I just think that the like July is very hard.
02:17:39Yeah. To get people to watch.
02:17:41So, yeah, I am.
02:17:44I think every sport outside of football should do smaller seasons.
02:17:49Like 60 games in the NHL and the NBA, it feels like it would be
02:17:53you just have more at stake.
02:17:55MLB should be like 120. Yeah. Yeah.
02:17:58Yeah. We'll just because that's really and you can't do 18 games
02:18:02or 17 games like they do in the NFL.
02:18:04But that's why the NFL part of the reason why the NFL is so highly rated
02:18:09and so widely popular is every single week matters.
02:18:12There's only 17 of them.
02:18:15I can't imagine that.
02:18:16What are the average like ticket gates for NBA games in the month of November?
02:18:22Still, I mean, in big cities, probably still very deep.
02:18:25They're still making enough money where the owners will never agree to.
02:18:27Yeah, no, they'll never shorten.
02:18:28Yeah, because also that's less TV revenue. True.
02:18:32Like if anything, they'll probably do more games.
02:18:34Maybe some double headers.
02:18:36Yeah, double headers.
02:18:36That'd be that'd be sick.
02:18:37Double header NBA game would be awesome. It'd be great.
02:18:40Yeah. Load management city.
02:18:41Tibbs would love some double headers or just have it be like have have
02:18:46like a week where it's like every team plays.
02:18:50They play double headers and also every single day
02:18:53like they do a full tournament for five days straight.
02:18:56Yeah. Just knock out 15 games. Yeah, that would rock.
02:18:58That's what they used to do in UFC, too.
02:19:00Yeah. It would just be like you have to keep fighting this entire weekend.
02:19:03Yeah, I do think the NBA should.
02:19:06I actually think one thing the NBA could fix most
02:19:10for the most of the NBA season, it's what, like three games a week. Right.
02:19:14If the NBA should do a consistent.
02:19:18Call it Tuesday, Friday or whatever you want to do, where it's like
02:19:21these are the two days that everyone plays so people can start
02:19:25getting their schedules around it, where it's like, I don't know
02:19:28how it would actually work out if there's enough games.
02:19:30But like if you had an actual day where it's like
02:19:32these are the days that are played Tuesday, Friday.
02:19:34You know, you're going to get to see like the entire full slate of NBA.
02:19:38I think that'd be cool.
02:19:39It's like in football.
02:19:40You know that the games are going to be on Sunday and then Mondays
02:19:44and then sometimes Wednesdays and then every Thursday
02:19:47and then also some Friday, Friday and Saturday, Saturday late in the season.
02:19:51Yeah, they make it very easy for correct for football fans
02:19:54to know when the games are.
02:19:54There's only six to seven days. Yes.
02:19:57Except for COVID, though, there was a there was a Tuesday night.
02:20:00We have Brazil Friday this year.
02:20:01Week one. Brazil Friday.
02:20:03Yeah. And the Black Friday last year.
02:20:04Let's go. Birds. Yeah.
02:20:07What was that? Let's go. Birds.
02:20:08The birds played Brazil.
02:20:10How do you think the bird season is going to go this year? Great.
02:20:14Why? Why are you? Why do you say tough division?
02:20:16Are you worried at all that?
02:20:21You got the guy.
02:20:24What is this? It's too early.
02:20:26It goes it goes directly from Embiid season to junior season.

02:21:30And like Big Cat said, he wants a big Philly guy.
02:21:32And Max said back to Hank like, OK, but I don't really know when that's going to

02:22:40It's easy to do.
02:22:41Good job, Hank.
02:22:42Forty six. Jordy, 40.
02:22:43Dude, really happy for you.
02:22:44So fucking easy to do, right?
02:22:46Wow. Max, did you take anything from that?
02:22:49Like that was Hank just showed you how fucking easy this is?
02:22:52I know he showed PFD and I, it's really easy.
02:22:54Showed you. I know you showed Hank.
02:22:57Were you sure? Yeah, I didn't like that.
02:22:58You're showing me.
02:22:59Are we showing Max how easy it was?
02:23:01I mean, Max is one of those things.
02:23:02He's just a loser.
02:23:03Yeah, right. Exactly.
02:23:04It's fun to win in his face, but it's also like he's never going to get there.
02:23:06Right. He's never going to get it.
02:23:08I have. You know that he's never going to get it.
02:23:10I have gotten it. No, no, you haven't.
02:23:12No, you haven't.
02:23:13And I got in New York before you did.
02:23:15But does it matter?
02:23:17Like 46 has come up a lot.
02:23:19Easy. I just started picking it.
02:23:20Yeah. Hank, that wasn't even you didn't even react.
02:23:23It's good. Let's go.
02:23:24Good luck. Numbers. Third time.
02:23:25I'm part of my balls.
02:23:26Dot com. 20 sucks.
02:23:27Hank is a fucking beast at this.
02:23:29Good work, Hank. Yeah.
02:23:30Max, just what?
02:23:32PFT. Hank, real quick.
02:23:35How did you do that?
02:23:37You know, how do you do it?
02:23:40I just I just picked two numbers that were good luck, you know,
02:23:43reminded me of some friends and those are their lucky numbers.
02:23:45So I combined Joe Biden. Yeah.
02:23:47Yeah. And you just you just said the number, right?
02:23:50Yeah. Forty six.
02:23:50And then PFT, we can learn.
02:23:52The number came up.
02:23:53It just popped right up.
02:23:55We can learn from this.
02:23:56Did you say that was impressive?
02:23:57I've been saying it. OK.
02:23:59No, I was like, your reaction has me very confused.
02:24:01Max, you're talking.
02:24:02I just it's like I've already won before.
02:24:05I know, you know, I'm now, you know, Max, you're talking a whole lot right now
02:24:09for someone who's not mad.
02:24:11I'm not mad. I'm just I mean, it's something we can learn on.
02:24:14Learn from learn from learn from.
02:24:16Listen, Max, I don't give a fuck about the lottery machine,
02:24:19because either again, you're talking a lot.
02:24:22Jesus Christ, Max.
02:24:23I don't give a fuck about it. It's just numbers.
02:24:26It's going to happen eventually.
02:24:27It's just statistics for me.
02:24:28So I'm not concerned at all about it.
02:24:29That's why I'm not forcing myself to nod my head a lot and say,
02:24:33yeah, I'm going to get this.
02:24:35PFT, you're going to get this.
02:24:36You're not going to get it because you're so nervous about it.
02:24:39You're going to fight yourself out.
02:24:40The lottery ball knows it's like it's like a dog.
02:24:42They smell the fear.
02:24:43They don't want anything to do with Max hates dogs, too, right?
02:24:47That was so good, Hank. Thank you.
02:24:48You're the fucking man. Thank you, Max.
02:24:51Maybe wake up tomorrow and be like, how can I be more like Hank?
02:24:55Well, actually, no, that wouldn't be waking up.
02:24:57Maybe sleep in tomorrow and be like, how can I be like more like Hank?
02:25:01Love you guys.
02:25:08Max just came in here.
02:25:08He's like BFG, I saw how rattled you were.
02:25:11I had no idea what he was even talking about.
02:25:13He knew exactly what I was talking about.
02:25:14He's trying to play this cool guy thing.
02:25:16But inside, he's freaking out.
02:25:17I'm not freaking out at all.
02:25:18You want you want to know why I'm not freaking out?
02:25:20Because it's a fucking lottery ball machine with random numbers in it.
02:25:24And so you just pick one and eventually you're going to get it.
02:25:26It's not. Look, look how nervous you are.
02:25:29No, I'm good. Yeah.
02:25:32I'm actually beginning to think that you're not going to get it.
02:25:34I'm going to get it because it's easy.
02:25:36Like, I don't give a fuck.
02:25:37I mean, it's one in 100.
02:25:39Yeah, literally one in 100 chance.
02:25:41Were you about to look in there to see if 20 was in there?
02:25:43Well, you are right underneath is 30.
02:25:45I was like, fuck, was 20 like the next one up, but it was 30.
02:25:49Oh, I mean, you are 30.
02:25:50I mean, guess what? You are right.
02:25:53No, I'm not. I'm good.
02:25:55Yeah, you are. I'm good. I'm good as fuck.
02:25:58I mean, people forget memes hasn't got it in either studio.
02:26:01Memes never got in here.
02:26:02He's never got it in New York either.
02:26:05How come he's not storming around like a little headcase like you?
02:26:08Because he doesn't care.
02:26:11Oh, memes doesn't care because it's a stupid lottery ball machine.
02:26:15Yeah. And it'll happen eventually.
02:26:16Don't say it's stupid.
02:26:17It is. It is stupid.
02:26:19You're giving it too much power.
02:26:20You're putting the lottery ball machine on a pedestal.
02:26:22It's not stupid. It's not a stupid lottery.
02:26:23You're putting it on a pedestal.
02:26:25I mean, it's literally on a pedestal.
02:26:27Max, I want you to look at it.
02:26:28That machine is on a pedestal.
02:26:29I want you to look. No, it's not.
02:26:31I don't really know what a pedestal is.
02:26:32This entire thing is a pedestal.
02:26:34Yeah. And the balls are on the pedestal.
02:26:36Yeah, the balls are on the pedestal.
02:26:38You're focusing too much on the pedestal.
02:26:39You're focusing too much on the balls and not enough on the machine.
02:26:43It has just enough to do with it.
02:26:44I want you to picture the lottery ball machine like a beautiful woman at a bar.
02:26:48Okay? And then think about how you would approach her.
02:26:51How do you do it so well, Pug?
02:26:52How do you open?
02:26:53I don't think. Just pick.
02:26:55Yeah, exactly. That's how it is.
02:26:5799 Pug.
02:26:58So, yeah, just like play it cool.
02:27:00Play the machine cool.
02:27:01Right now, you want it too bad.
02:27:02That's your problem.
02:27:04And he can sense that.
02:27:06You look desperate.
02:27:09Yeah, 20's a bad number.
