00:00 Miami's top four experienced edge rushers.
00:03 They returned 26 and a half sacks from last season combined.
00:07 You'd be hard pressed to find a better unit in the entire country.
00:10 >> Yeah, no doubt.
00:11 And that's why I kind of caution people when they look at these players,
00:16 this guy could do this or this guy could do that.
00:20 What I think the intention was is to have enough depth where they could
00:24 interchange these guys and not lose much.
00:27 That's what I think has happened in any team that has depth.
00:32 Because you're gonna get a kid, like you said, Marquis Lightfoot or
00:36 McConaughey or one of those guys like that.
00:39 It'll end up with two or three sacks at the end of the year.
00:42 And then you and I are gonna be talking next year and say, well,
00:45 he had two or three, he had three sacks last year.
00:48 Then you said, but you know what, he only played a part time.
00:51 And that's what the whole thing is, is you're not gonna have one guy with 25 sacks.
00:55 Most teams that have that one guy that has 16, 17, 18, 19 sacks,
01:00 then that means you don't have a cohesive unit across the front.
01:06 And this is what Miami with Bane and these guys like that,
01:08 I think Barrow's gonna make a huge difference.
01:11 I think he's gonna be the type of guy that's gonna lighten the load,
01:14 especially for Ruben Bane.
01:16 I mean, the guy's got experience and he's a really, really good player.
01:20 And with the addition to some of these other really good prospects,
01:24 individually, they're gonna do well, but
01:27 that all adds up to what the team's gonna do.
01:30 >> You covered Ruben Bane so closely when he was at Miami Central.
01:34 You probably covered him since he was a kid, knowing you.
01:36 You probably knew Ruben when he was like seven, eight years old.
01:40 Blue is the most comprehensive,
01:42 offers the most comprehensive coverage of South Florida athletes.
01:46 Coming off of that seven and a half sack season that he had last year,
01:49 12 and a half tackles for loss, phenomenal true freshman year for Bane.
01:53 How much of a jump Blue do you think he can make in his second year?
01:57 >> Well, obviously he's worked real hard.
01:59 He's gotten bigger, he's gotten stronger, and
02:01 with the addition of the people around him.
02:04 And that's what I always emphasize.
02:06 There's a lot, HB Blades is a perfect example.
02:09 If you put him out on the island, he may not be as good as some of the other
02:14 linebackers, but you put him with other people who are playmakers, and
02:18 then suddenly the roof falls off.
02:21 And I think that's what Bane's gonna do.
02:22 He's gonna be benefited that he's gonna get a lot of one on one coverage.
02:27 You're not gonna be able to double team him as much with some of the other talent.
02:32 And that's the good thing.
02:33 And he's gonna kind of like really be able to kind of freelance and
02:38 do what he wants and not have to worry about a center coming over or
02:42 a tackle blocking down on him.
02:46 So he's, yeah, he's definitely gonna benefit more than anybody on that
02:50 defensive line because he's already got them massive talent.
02:54 Now he's gotta have an opportunity, not have two and
03:00 three guys on him at every play, especially with all the talent Miami has around him.
