00:00 So I will be number one on the ticket, Tim Parilovic's number two, Peter Vincent number three,
00:05 Steve Dale number four and Mark Jefferson number five.
00:08 We're all very passionate, we're very committed,
00:12 we're excited to be out there and hearing from the community to find out in this period
00:16 between now and when the election happens, what is important to the people in our community
00:21 so that we can be ready to make as many changes as we can.
00:24 One of the things I've learnt this term of council is that nothing happens quickly,
00:29 I'm proud of a lot of things that we have achieved but the strategic planning type things I'm talking about,
00:36 they take years to get into place.
00:38 So the sooner we can get out there and find out what it is that people want and need from our city,
00:45 I think the better placed we are.
00:47 My family moved to Wagga 12 years ago and sort of from day one we've been pretty actively involved in this community.
00:55 It's a place that we love, I've never felt more at home or more connected to a place.
01:00 As a federal candidate in the past for Labor, I've really spent a lot of time fighting for additional funding for our schools.
01:07 That's so important.
01:08 Another thing that's really close to my heart and is something that I've spent quite a few years campaigning on
01:13 is to make sure we have appropriate palliative care, especially public access to palliative care in Wagga.
01:19 I think it's fair to say that what people really want out of their council and their councillors
01:23 is they want people who are hardworking, they want people who are engaged and who are approachable.
01:28 And I think that's something that we all really bring to this ticket.
01:32 It's really important as well, council has to be an organisation that not only is future focused,
01:38 it needs to be accountable to the people.
01:40 And I think it's really important there that councillors make themselves available to the community.
01:46 That's why we're running really early.
01:48 We were out last weekend, we'll be out again many times over the coming months.
01:53 To be in public places, available for people to talk to us and share their vision, their hopes
01:57 and make sure that they give us the detail on what's happening in their neighbourhood
02:01 so that we can be advocates for them.
