Scarlett Johansson Alleges OpenAI Stole Her Voice for 'Sky' Conversational Model

Scarlett Johansson claims OpenAI used an AI named "Sky" a voice that sounded too similar to her own without permission. "Sky" and was part of OpenAI's ChatGPT conversational model launched last week. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman had approached Johansson last September to license her voice, and again just before ChatGPT's launch, but she declined both times. Johansson has since hired legal counsel and sent OpenAI two letters asking for transparency around how they created Sky's voice. OpenAI has now taken down Sky's voice, but denies it was meant to imitate Johansson and says the voice actor was hired independently before any contact with Johansson.
