00:00 Being directed by Francis is like, it's very spontaneous.
00:03 At times you'd come into work and he'd be very like,
00:06 "Well, let's just try this," and very experimental,
00:09 and we'd improvise a lot,
00:10 and you didn't really know how the day was gonna go,
00:13 or like, what was gonna pan out,
00:15 and that was quite challenging at times.
00:17 It's very exposing, it's very vulnerable.
00:20 Yeah, you kind of come up against yourself a lot,
00:22 and your ego a lot,
00:24 and your, you know, desire to be right or to be good.
00:27 This whole experience has been like nothing I've ever had before.
00:31 I just had no concept of how crazy it would be,
00:34 how exciting it would be, how many people there would be.
00:37 I was like, "Oh," it was like quite overwhelming.
00:39 I felt really proud.
00:40 The standing ovations, I've watched many a video of them.
00:44 I knew that this was something to expect.
00:46 And so the idea of a whole theater of people,
00:49 like, staring at you, clapping,
00:51 yeah, it was definitely something, and I was like, "Okay."
00:55 Like, just the slightly awkward person that I can be.
00:57 Obviously, wearing custom Chanel is new for me,
01:02 and I loved every second of it.
01:04 I felt so elegant, it was wonderful.
01:07 But there comes a time when people no longer believe in it.
01:12 I actually saw a screening about three or four weeks ago in London.
01:16 It's a lot to take in on one viewing, or two viewings even.
01:19 So many detailed ideas in there to process.
01:23 Like, some of the wonderful one-liners and comedic moments.
01:27 Yeah, I was so proud of everybody.
01:29 My draw to Julia,
01:31 she has a real kind of coming of age in a way.
01:34 Like, she's this person who's been living a very frivolous life,
01:39 like, just partying, not really having any direction.
01:41 I mean, I definitely had my years doing that,
01:44 but I always kind of knew what I was trying to do.
01:46 I have a lot more agency than maybe Julia does,
01:49 and she has had to be brave and courageous,
01:52 but in a very sort of quiet way.
01:55 I really just resonated with that, as I think everyone does
01:58 when you get to a certain age and you step out into the world,
02:01 you live your life, you have experiences.
02:03 And I think we can all relate to that.
02:05 Giancarlo Esposito, he really put his arm around me and was like,
02:10 "I'm Papa now, you're my baby girl."
02:13 I think he really embraced me in such a beautiful way.
02:17 It was quite easy for me to, like, be in that emotional space.
02:23 And sometimes I have songs for specific characters
02:26 that my character interacts with, or I have it for a specific scene.
02:31 I don't want to impose that on another actor.
02:33 I was like, "Giancarlo, I have this song.
02:36 If you are open to hearing it, how did this man guess the song?"
02:40 I didn't even say it.
02:42 It really just demonstrated how immediate that, like, kind of...
02:47 connection was and chemistry was as father and daughter.
02:50 And I couldn't believe that he knew the song.
02:54 And it was... yeah, amazing.
02:58 He guessed the song!
