00:00half of the people in their 50s, you're not quite there yet.
00:03I will be if I don't get some sleep.
00:05But they struggle to get a good night's rest, Sarah.
00:07I know, it's so awful.
00:09And two in five said that they feel more anxious as a result as well.
00:12And I can understand that,
00:14because, you know, when you're not sleeping, it all self-propagates.
00:17There are a few things that one can do to try and help manage your sleep.
00:19So, number one, breath work.
00:21So, ensure that you're trying to breathe
00:26in this method called coherent breathing,
00:28where you breathe in for six seconds
00:29and then you breathe out for six seconds.
00:31So, that's five breaths per minute in total.
00:34Your sleep posture is also really important.
00:35So, try the dreamer pose.
00:37So, that's where you lie in a side position,
00:39in a kind of semi-foetal position with your knees bent up.
00:43And this puts less pressure on the spine.
00:47And if you then put a nice pillow in between your knees and ankles,
00:51that will help the pressure further.
00:53Yeah, and on your left side is supposed to be better than on your right.
00:56Yeah, there's some thought or process that says
00:58that actually that allows the blood flow to the kidneys and the IVC,
01:02so different blood vessels, so the organs flow better.
01:05But I say, you know, whatever you're comfortable in, really.
01:08Whatever gets you to sleep.
