00:00 Why we're here today is to show our opposition to what's going on.
00:03 Council has notified, as short as half an hour ago,
00:06 that they intend to press ahead with making our members redundant
00:10 and reduce the capacity of this service.
00:12 It's not right, it's not good enough,
00:14 and it's going to lead to a degradation of this Council and this community in the long run.
00:18 I'm happy to see...
00:19 But when we're talking about axing all three youth workers,
00:24 all of them,
00:26 we've got to ask the question,
00:28 who came up with these ideas?
00:30 Because our elected councillors tell us it wasn't them,
00:34 and in fact they were given an undertaking that it wouldn't happen.
00:37 I suspect the Commission is going to be looking at some of these things soon as well.
00:42 Uniontown will not wear this.
00:45 We don't like seeing workers getting badly treated.
00:48 We don't like seeing workers getting shafted from an employer
00:53 that's supposed to be accountable to the community
00:55 that is being served by these workers.
00:57 It's not going to happen.
00:59 We'll stand by them and their union until they win,
01:03 and until Shell Harbour wins.
01:05 Thank you.
