00:02:52 and the Minnesota Timberwolves shocked the world and take down the defending champion
00:02:58 Nuggets with an incredible game seven performance. Holy shit PFT. Oh I should have said also
00:03:04 congratulations to Hank Boston Celtics are NBA champs. Yeah because the Nuggets are out
00:03:09 the only real competition that they had. So congratulations Hank that's very big for you.
00:03:15 Congrats Hank. You're not worried about the Pacers at all right. No. Yeah. Come on. Yeah
00:03:18 I didn't think so and you're not worried about the Mavericks not worried about the Wolves.
00:03:22 No I'll be watching the Mavs Wolves with some intensity. So watching these games I've started
00:03:27 to come around maybe just because I'm hanging out with Hank too much but I see his point
00:03:31 when he says you guys just hate me for existing. And it's true. We do hate you for existing
00:03:38 but your entire existence is very infuriating. You understand that. That's true. That's also
00:03:43 true. I just I just exist and people choose to be infuriated. I think I can only control
00:03:47 myself. You just exist and throw looks. Yeah again it's like I have to look like I have
00:03:53 to look places. And then if you know you see you get mad at me for not talking and then
00:03:58 when I talk it just enrages you. But holy shit the Timberwolves down 15 at half. They
00:04:03 played like dog crap in the first half and then the second half it was like the Nuggets
00:04:07 forgot the Monstars talked to him at halftime I guess. I want to know what that halftime
00:04:11 speech was like what adjustments they made on both sides because the Nuggets went from
00:04:15 looking unstoppable and the Wolves looking like trash to the complete opposite second
00:04:20 half of a total 180. Nothing was falling for the Nuggets. Defensively the Wolves were just
00:04:25 swarming him. Yeah. And they also the Yoke is taking what he ended up taking 10 threes.
00:04:31 Yeah he just kept shooting because he was like they have to start falling. They can't
00:04:34 that can't be in the game plan. The Wolves I like in terms of impressive series wins
00:04:40 the way this one went down because obviously they go up to 0 and everyone crowns them and
00:04:46 then the Nuggets remind everyone that the Nuggets and they go back 3 2 and you thought
00:04:49 like OK that's it. Like it's series over. The Wolves are dead. Friday night they absolutely
00:04:54 kill the Nuggets. And then even tonight when they're down 20 points early in the game and
00:05:00 you're like there's no chance this team is just not ready yet. And they just kept fighting
00:05:05 just like Anthony Edwards didn't have his best game kept fighting Nas Reed was just
00:05:11 that that stretch he had where he was like a couple free throws block assists dunk like
00:05:17 he just just absolute electricity put into the to the Timberwolves team and they take
00:05:23 down the champs. Be real careful out there if you're typing Nas Reed with your auto correct
00:05:28 or guy Marquis Noel from Kansas State he had he felt victim to this like 10 minutes ago.
00:05:33 He just said like Nazi played a great game. Oh no. He said G.G.'s. Not Nazi G.G.'s buddy.
00:05:40 But it was it was a full team effort from from the Wolves because if you told me going
00:05:44 into game seven that Anthony Edwards would have the Kobe six for 24 which is that was
00:05:51 that his famous stat line from the game seven they won. I'm pretty sure it was six or 24
00:05:56 from the field. I'd be like no chance the Wolves win this game. Well here's a fun stat
00:06:00 about Anthony Edwards. So when he's held below five points in the first half of the game
00:06:05 the Timberwolves are seven and one this season. Damn pretty crazy. That's the formula. So
00:06:09 you just got to not score just have him not score at all in the first half. But you're
00:06:13 good. But like even Carl Anthony Towns is goofy ass that that one that one moment where
00:06:17 he couldn't inbound the ball and he just started he looked like he was going to like run up
00:06:22 to the ref and be like stop the game fully not even just call a timeout. You didn't call
00:06:25 a timeout. Anthony Edwards will do something every game that makes you scratch your head
00:06:29 and Carl Anthony Towns. Yeah. Carl Anthony Towns will do something in every game that
00:06:33 makes you scratch your head and say like how how is this guy still having a job in the
00:06:37 NBA. And then he'll do something every game where you're like oh this guy's one of the
00:06:41 best basketball players on the planet. Yeah. But he was yeah I mean he was getting tough
00:06:44 rebounds. He was you know he scored like I'm just I couldn't be more impressed with the
00:06:49 Wolves. This series was just it was the anti Minnesota series because Minnesota sports
00:06:55 fans have been through hell and back and up to 0. They were they were starting to be like
00:07:01 maybe this is different and then down 3 2. They're like nope. Same old Minnesota Timberwolves
00:07:05 same old Minnesota sports. And then in this game specifically being like a no show in
00:07:09 game seven can't believe we got our hopes up. Boom you look up and they win the game
00:07:15 somewhat convincingly because they were up 10 with like three minutes left and it was
00:07:18 over in the Nuggets building. They win three games in Denver. I mean what what what a performance.
00:07:26 They're they're for real. Pretty good. They're for real Hank. I am not. No I'm not saying
00:07:30 they're not. I love the after the game the second the whistle blew first shot. Not not
00:07:36 the real team owner not the coach dealing with a torn patella not a crying fan in the
00:07:41 stands that made the long trip from Minnesota. A rod a rod a rod first boss man. When I think
00:07:46 Timberwolves I think Alex Rod winning winning culture. But yeah shout out Minnesota fans.
00:07:53 This has to feel like it has to feel almost bizarre and like it wins the joke going to
00:07:58 happen. Yeah because you have the young star and it felt like this series slipped away
00:08:04 and it didn't. And now you're on to the Western Conference finals for the first time I believe
00:08:08 since like 2004 when they had Kevin Garnett and their last time that they were in the
00:08:13 their only other time in the Western Conference finals. It's awesome. You know shout out Minnesota
00:08:18 sports fans. It's been a long time to have a team that you're like that. It's again it's
00:08:23 the opposite Minnesota sort of sports where every other team they've had. It's always
00:08:27 been like they'll end up losing. This team is just a bunch of dogs. You're like no maybe
00:08:31 they won't. Yeah they're fun. They are the game that you look forward to watching. Yeah
00:08:35 I'm bummed that the series is over actually even though we didn't have a whole lot of
00:08:38 really close games. I was just looking forward to these games because you didn't know who
00:08:43 was going to win Friday night was was like that was the biggest joke of a game ever.
00:08:48 They all have kind of been jokes. Yeah I guess it's the most lopsided seven game series where
00:08:51 both teams were lopsided. Also the Nuggets Wolves Jersey mismatch tonight was probably
00:09:00 the most profound there's ever been because I don't know what the fuck. Burn that Nuggets
00:09:04 Jersey never wear it again. Is it there. Is this the zip code. I don't know. It's like
00:09:07 it's the it has the 80. Yeah. Oh my God that's even worse. So they'd rather have this purple
00:09:14 row. Yeah I'd rather have the zip code. They put it on their court obviously but like that
00:09:19 put it on the jerseys and having the really dark blue ones. You got to have something
00:09:22 more intimidating. And then you let that's not a game seven uniform that's a game to
00:09:25 uniform and then you let the Wolves walk in with their awesome clean throwbacks. Yep.
00:09:31 And they just that was over right then even though it wasn't even the first half was just
00:09:35 all Nuggets. Yeah. Yeah. So Hank you got to be feeling it. I'm excited. I'm excited for
00:09:41 the next few weeks. Yeah. Well so who you got facing is the Indiana Pacers. I want to
00:09:48 start this because I want to start it by saying talking about the Pacers because that ESPN
00:09:53 broadcast who was something else. I've I didn't even know that they were like if you're if
00:10:00 you tuned into that game you would not have known who the Knicks were playing today because
00:10:05 they even at the end of the game like Doris Burke sounded like she was going to cry having
00:10:10 to be like the Pacers are about to win this game. Mike Breen I get because he's the Knicks
00:10:14 regular play by play guy and he's a Knicks fan. But the beginning of the game started
00:10:19 with Tyrese Halberden Jalen Brunson walking through the tunnel and then Stephen A. Smith
00:10:27 also walking through the tunnel like he was a player it before tip off they did they kicked
00:10:33 it to Stephen A. Smith who gave a Knicks pump up speech with Spike Lee. You would never
00:10:40 have guessed the Indiana Pacers were playing in this game and then at halftime the Pacers
00:10:44 are winning they're playing a great game and then at halftime they just talk about what
00:10:48 a tough guy O.J. and nobody is which credit to him for playing. But then Bob Myers just
00:10:52 lectures America on on what an outstanding feat of strength this guy is pulling off tonight.
00:10:57 I wrote down the quote because Malika Andrews asked Bob Myers at halftime what stood out
00:11:01 to you for the Pacers and he wrote he said back well starting with O.J. couldn't go and
00:11:07 then went on to talk about O.J.'s like no no the question was about the Pacers. So the
00:11:11 Pacers deserve the credit here. They went into the Mecca in a game seven and dropped
00:11:16 a hundred thirty just did not miss 67 percent from the field. They like this team. Yeah
00:11:23 their defense is great but their offensive like when it clicks they have so many dudes
00:11:27 who can score and like T.J. McConnell again every time he comes off the bench like holy
00:11:33 shit Tyrese Halliburton was awesome. It was just they took it right to the Knicks completely
00:11:38 took the crowd out of the game and their teams down 0 2 in a series have I think won the
00:11:45 series 7 percent of the time and home teams in a game 7 win 75 percent of the time. The
00:11:53 Pacers just buck both those trends and it was the best shooting performance in a game
00:11:57 seven on the road in NBA history. It's what they shot 67 67 percent 67 percent from the
00:12:02 field is insane. Yeah. All 16 of the ESPN analysts before the series picked the Knicks.
00:12:08 The Pacers use that on their Twitter after. And so the Pacers deserve all the credit.
00:12:12 They deserve the shine that ESPN just did not give them whatsoever. I think Rick Carlisle
00:12:17 is right. Yeah. For the small market. Well actually in New York it's not called a small
00:12:21 market it's called a bodega. Yeah that's true. Get that straight with a cat. Yeah. Cat sitting
00:12:25 in like a box of old like Twix. Yeah. Yeah. Usually there's a Ritz container like a box
00:12:31 of Ritz crackers that was from the 1980s. Yeah. If you the beauty of a bodega is if
00:12:35 you go like past the first two or three things that are on the shelf you can see one that's
00:12:41 like oh shit. Was this a war ration. Yeah. Vienna sausages. Yeah. Yeah. Everything neither.
00:12:46 But. But the Pacers like full team performance. Everyone was everyone scored they had all
00:12:51 five starters were in in double digits in actually the lowest starter was miles turn
00:12:57 at 17. So and then TJ McConnell put in 12 from the bench. And yeah I know that you shouldn't
00:13:04 be worried about the Pacers Hank but the Pacers do have an offense that like when they get
00:13:09 hot and they run they play a weird style of basketball that could sneak up on you. Not
00:13:16 worried they could they could maybe sneak in a game. OK. Yeah I mean I agree with you
00:13:21 the songs you win the series but I'm just saying given some shine to the Pacers. How
00:13:24 do you feel about Tyrese Halliburton being. It seems like he's embracing the role of a
00:13:28 villain but to me the best villains aren't the ones that have to be like you know what
00:13:32 I'm going to embrace the role of villain a real villain just doesn't give a fuck and
00:13:35 they're a villain. Yeah I didn't like that he did the too small to do Smith bright on
00:13:39 Friday night behind his back and then pretended to pick his nose because you got to do the
00:13:43 too small with full full. Well the too small is a hate crime. Yeah. People of my stature
00:13:48 but I'd have no I have no problem with him wearing the Reggie Miller choking shirt after
00:13:52 the game. Yeah that's good. Like the Knicks were talking all the shit as you saw in the
00:13:55 media. Everyone was picking against you guys. Nobody was really respecting the Pacers. So
00:13:59 yeah talk all the shit once it's over. But a guy like that when he loses that's he doesn't
00:14:04 have that same. I don't know. Do you know I'm trying to say about like people who anoint
00:14:08 themselves as a villain. Yeah. First people who are just naturally. Well I think he's
00:14:11 kind of hated. You think. Yeah I think he's hated in the fact that when he's good he's
00:14:16 great and then there's some moments where it's like what is he doing out there. Yeah
00:14:20 just running in circles. But you've got to give Tyrese Halbert and credit. It's his first
00:14:25 playoffs and he's made it to a conference finals. Joel has never done that. That's pretty
00:14:32 good. It's very good. People are obsessed with it with Joel Embiid. You're obsessed
00:14:37 with Joel Embiid. Well I mean yeah I I'm the one who brought this up. Tyrese Albert and
00:14:43 has made the conference final before Joel Embiid is his first playoffs. Don't care.
00:14:48 Cat to cat. Oh yeah. Well it's not his first playoffs. No I know but but he's made it.
00:14:52 He has made a conference finals before Joel. So who do you say with Anthony Edwards. So
00:14:58 who's a better big man. Rudy Gobert or Joel Embiid. Be honest. If I'm being honest. It's
00:15:06 true. One's made a conference final. By a ton. By a ton. But yeah the Pacers. So so
00:15:12 the Knicks went out so sad. Well they they died as they lived with another heartbreaking
00:15:18 injury. Yeah. Jalen Brunson broke his hand. I heard that Tom Thibodeau actually sat on
00:15:24 it at halftime. We got to figure out a way to blame him. Yeah. This one as well. Here's
00:15:30 the thing. Two things can be true at the same time. The Knicks had incredibly bad injury
00:15:36 luck in these playoffs and you can be excited if you're a Knicks fan about the future because
00:15:41 Jalen Brunson is a up and coming superstar. I said it up and coming. Not there yet but
00:15:46 a superstar in the making. Knicks fans also should understand that they have to get laughed
00:15:52 at because all they do is talk shit and they had the we want Boston chance and the Bing
00:15:57 bongs and the after every game the interviews and then you just lost game seven at the Mecca
00:16:02 to the Indiana Pacers and Spike Lee pretty much crying in the front row afterwards. That
00:16:07 was tough to watch. Like I think I don't know. I mean maybe I'm maybe maybe most Knicks fans
00:16:13 aren't means what you're a Knicks fan. Memes by the way is going through the playoffs of
00:16:18 hell because he's an Islanders and Knicks fan and hates the Rangers who are maybe going
00:16:25 to win the Stanley Cup. We'll talk to PK Suban about that. But what do you think means you
00:16:30 think it's fair or do you think Knicks fans are in their feels about people talking shit
00:16:35 back to them because I saw a lot of that being like oh we're so injured we're so injured.
00:16:40 You guys talk a lot of shit for not being in a conference final since 2000. Yeah I think
00:16:45 everybody's just in their feelings right now. Yeah. Fair which is fair. That's how sports
00:16:49 work. I think I think both sides are overreacting with Knicks fans are like our Pacers fans
00:16:53 are saying well Knicks fans keep using the injury card on everything and then Knicks
00:16:58 fans get pissed off at that. And I think the truth is in the middle where it's like your
00:17:02 team was your team had devastating injury. Yeah. No you were all hurt. Yeah. It's a valid
00:17:07 excuse but it's still definitely an excuse. Right. And it's also you talk a lot of shit
00:17:11 along the way. You got to expect it to come back at you when you end up losing especially
00:17:15 game seven at the Mecca. Yeah. And that was I mean that crowd like they the Pacers just
00:17:21 took it right to him. Hank are you sad you don't get to play the Knicks. It doesn't really
00:17:25 matter. I would like to I would like to shut the Knicks fans up and just sweep them real
00:17:29 quick but they would have just played the injury card anyway. So yeah this will get
00:17:35 the in season tournament revenge game. Yeah. Yeah. But Knicks fans do you think they're
00:17:39 going to be rooting against the Celtics. Are they going to be able to bring themselves
00:17:42 to root for the Pacers. I don't think there's they don't have that hate. They don't really
00:17:46 care. I mean the Pacers have more of a rivalry to watch basketball. They do. The Pacers and
00:17:51 Knicks have more of a rivalry than the Celtics in the next. That's true. But I feel like
00:17:55 people from New York just don't want to see people from Boston succeed. It's true. Here's
00:17:59 a weird stat. Now the Pacers have been to the Eastern Conference Finals a bunch of times.
00:18:05 You know they went to the NBA Finals in whatever it was 2000 but 1994 they went to the Eastern
00:18:11 Conference Finals 2004 they went to the Eastern Conference Finals 2014 they went to the Eastern
00:18:15 Conference Finals 2024 Eastern Conference Finals. So let's put in a reminder for 2034
00:18:21 make sure that's in there. Sounds good. There have been other times though but still that's
00:18:25 kind of cool. I'm going to bet so many shit coins on that game. Yeah. I'll be so rich
00:18:29 from those. I'm happy for the Pacers. I mean they got a young fun team. But Tyrese Halberd
00:18:35 and what. Me too. I'm happy for Tyrese Halberd and Tyrese Halberd and Jason Tatum Luca or
00:18:42 Anthony Edwards one of those four is going to win their first ring. That's pretty cool.
00:18:46 Very cool. I got a passing of the torch of the NBA. I'm not saying those are all in the
00:18:50 same level. Which player do you think is the best out of that group before you just named.
00:18:54 I would still say Luca. I would like Hank to answer that question. I would like Hank
00:18:59 to answer that question too. I'd say Tatum. Is better than Luca. More experience. OK.
00:19:05 How. He's played longer. Nothing but success. Nothing but success. I mean they've more playoff
00:19:11 games. I mean Luca played overseas and then played here. I mean it's close it's close.
00:19:16 It's a 1A 1B situation. Luca is very good. But so if you ride with Celtics got a call
00:19:23 from the Dallas Matt Mark Cuban who still somehow owns them tomorrow and said hey we
00:19:27 want to trade Jason Tatum for Luca straight up. Do the Celtics hang up that phone call.
00:19:34 I don't know what they would do. I'm not sure. OK. I would pick up that call. I would pick
00:19:39 I'd take that call out there to entertain the call. Yeah you would answer it. OK. We
00:19:43 should talk about the Mavs. That was an awesome awesome game 6. The shot making at the end
00:19:50 of the game was just like just such high level back and forth. And also the Thunder. I feel
00:19:56 like the Thunder blew. I don't know like four or five different 15 point leads during that
00:20:01 game. They just kept on getting these huge leads and the Mavs kept coming back and the
00:20:06 Mavs Kyrie Irving. Fun fact is 14 you know in closeout games which is a weird way to
00:20:13 say it because he's lost elimination games but not game sevens. No he has lost. No no
00:20:19 it's it's within a little time to win three. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Closeout games. OK. It's
00:20:24 not lost. So that's cool. I guess. Yeah. Listen the Mavericks are good. I know that there's
00:20:29 some rivalry baked in between the Mavericks and the Celtics. Kyrie did step all over lucky
00:20:34 the leprechaun. Yeah it's gonna be a big time lucky revenge series if you're lucky enough
00:20:37 to make it through the Pacers Hank. I would be I would be worried about whoever came out
00:20:41 of the West to be honest. Yeah. Yeah it'll be a fair it'll be a fair fair fight. This
00:20:47 game was awesome though. Derek Lively was incredible and Derek Lively. Fun fact goes
00:20:53 back to last year when the Mavs got fined seven hundred fifty thousand dollars for tanking
00:21:00 the final two games. Now teams tank all the time. They got fined specifically because
00:21:05 they were like hey we're tanking and they said it out loud. But they tanked for a specific
00:21:09 reason because if they had stayed at the 11th spot in the standings they would have had
00:21:17 an eight and a half percent chance of keeping their pick because they would have. It was
00:21:21 a trade that they would have to lose their pick. They tanked. They ended up having a
00:21:25 seventy nine point eight percent chance of keeping their pick. They get the 10th pick.
00:21:30 They trade the 10th pick with the Thunder at 12 and they take Derek Lively. So they
00:21:36 traded Derek. The Thunder technically took Derek Lively at 12. They get Derek Lively.
00:21:42 Derek Lively was the difference in that game. He had 15 rebounds. His rebounding is everywhere
00:21:46 and his defense is awesome too. He's a good role player on the Mavericks. They've got
00:21:49 a couple of those guys. P.J. Washington. I don't I think it's disrespectful to call him
00:21:53 a role player at this point. He's I mean he he got a little bit cooler the last two games
00:21:59 but he still hit the big shots when he needed to because he was there was a couple of games
00:22:02 where he was scoring like twenty five points hitting every three. Yeah I just I just wanted
00:22:06 to remind people because I remember specifically last year people were very upset at the Mavericks
00:22:11 because I think they started tanking when they technically were still alive for the
00:22:16 play in. Yeah they didn't want that. I'm a big proponent for a team to do that because
00:22:20 the plan is a joke as someone who gets hurt by the play in every single year. They created
00:22:25 the play in to give the illusion of playoffs to all these teams. The Mavericks made the
00:22:29 right decision. They got a good big young guy who can help Luca in his prime win a title
00:22:37 this year instead of trying to make and probably failing to get in the play in. And then if
00:22:42 they're in the plan probably failing to get in the playoffs and even if they're in the
00:22:46 playoffs losing to the Nuggets and trying and then yeah then trying to sign like a free
00:22:50 agent or trying to lure another guy in there to make a super team right. Get a good role
00:22:54 player taking work sometimes that was the heat where the heat in the play were in the
00:22:58 playing game. But what seed would they have been last year. What do you mean. So there
00:23:02 were the eight seed last year right. Yeah they were in the place. Yeah they lost the
00:23:06 first one and they OK and they beat the ball seven if there was no play they would have
00:23:10 been the seven. So they are alumni of the play in tournament but they did not benefit
00:23:13 from the expanded play in field. Correct. Yeah correct. They didn't they didn't end
00:23:19 up like oh a team all the way from the play in. Yeah. This is it was a weird ending of
00:23:23 this game to where they had the free throws at the end. Yeah. And so he makes two of them
00:23:29 misses a third one intentionally with two and a half seconds left. Chet looked like
00:23:32 he was in disbelief after the game was over. He could not believe that they lost that game
00:23:35 was close. Well Chet I like Chet the Thunder have a very promising future which is also
00:23:43 a scary thing to say to the Thunder fans because they had a promising future before they traded
00:23:47 James Harden. Chet you need someone else out there to help with Chet because he is not
00:23:55 like what he had like three rebounds. He's not a traditional big. I actually think you
00:24:00 want to hear this one. I think the Thunder should draft Zack Eaddy interest twin towers
00:24:06 into a careful grant a little little little this little that. Yeah. You know that's it.
00:24:11 You got the nimbly three point shooting skinny center and then you got a little bit more
00:24:19 of a traditional center and Zack Eaddy DJ Burns. I like. Yeah. Why not get you get a
00:24:24 big boy and get a college all star team. I like it. I don't hate that idea. So you're
00:24:27 off the Kevin Durant to the Thunder train. No I'm still on that. Him and him and and
00:24:32 Chet saying next to each other look very very funny. I'm still on that. I actually think
00:24:36 that the I think Kevin Durant wants that. I don't know if the Thunder want. If I'm a
00:24:40 Thunder fan I don't know if I'd want that either. Yeah. But the Thunder have a bright
00:24:44 future. I'm I am. I don't know why everyone has written off the Mavs. It feels like everyone
00:24:49 just assumes whoever wins the Wolves Nuggets was going to beat the Mavs quickly. I think
00:24:54 the Mavs are going to give again when you have the best player. Anthony Edwards is very
00:24:59 very good. I still think Luca as of right now is better. And if you have the best player
00:25:04 in a series you have a puncher's chance every single time every single time. They're not
00:25:08 out of it. No I think it's gonna be a good series. I think the Mavs Mavs played really
00:25:12 good defense against Thunder. They have some really good role players. If you get them
00:25:17 to a closeout game Kyrie Irving literally does not lose those. Again I feel like you
00:25:23 know I feel like touting the closeout game stat is weird when you've when you like got
00:25:28 injured and your team lost. When was the last lost in five to the to the Warriors because
00:25:33 they technically didn't have a close. Also also some of those closeout games are on the
00:25:37 bronze statute too. Correct. So when was the last time that Kyrie Irving made it this far.
00:25:42 It had to be when he was with the Cavs. They well they won. They won. They beat the year
00:25:48 that he got hurt. They won the first round match and then they he got hurt before the
00:25:53 series against the Bucs in the second round that they took the Bucs to seven and Kevin
00:25:59 Durant stepped on the line. You know for the three pointer. Yeah. But yeah the closeout
00:26:04 game stat is it sounds awesome but then you're like wait but you've lost series. But I don't
00:26:08 think he's been to the Western Conference finals the last. Yeah. No. I don't know the
00:26:13 playoffs I think was probably like 2018 2017 a long time ago. Where was it was the farthest
00:26:20 he made it with the Celtics. No he got hurt. Yeah. He got hurt and he was out. So yeah
00:26:25 it's been a long time probably. But he's 14 0 and closeout games. You want to let everyone
00:26:29 know that. Yeah. 14. That's the important stat. 14 0 and closeout games doesn't count
00:26:33 the losing in five to the Warriors. That doesn't count because you never chance to close out.
00:26:38 Yep. You just get him to a closeout game and he'll win that shit. So you guys all have
00:26:45 the wolves in how many. I got wolves in seven. Oh OK. So I can I can deal with I would have
00:26:50 the Lakers in five if they had made it this far. Yeah. Lakers probably would have beaten
00:26:55 I mean the Lakers would have beaten this these nuggets. Yep. These nuggets are not those
00:26:59 I gave seven nuggets. Yes every shot. Yep. Well game seven second half nuggets. Yeah.
00:27:04 Yeah. Lakers smoking by the way going back to the Knicks real quick real leader move
00:27:10 which I love from Jalen Brunson. Someone asked him was like given everything this season
00:27:14 you know the growth you guys have had how far you've made it was as a success. He said
00:27:19 no love. OK. That's good. I love that answer. I like that shit. I got my abs and seven abs
00:27:25 and seven. I'm starting to believe in the Mavs. I don't know it's just an end that game
00:27:31 six as good as the end of the game was. If you're an NBA hater the first half you would
00:27:37 have had a lot of material because Luca has never been more annoying to the refs than
00:27:42 he was on Saturday night. I don't know if you saw he was getting kicked out of the game.
00:27:46 I don't know if you saw the foul. I think it was the foul against P.J. Washington. Luca
00:27:50 called the foul before P.J. even hit the ground. Yeah he had that call before the ref did.
00:27:56 He was turning his head on slow mo as it was lightning fast reflexes to call foul for a
00:28:01 ref. Also I can't believe we didn't open up the show with this bad job on our part. This
00:28:05 is very important. Speaking of of the Knicks this day 35 years ago Jordan scores 40 at
00:28:13 Chicago Stadium in Game 6 of Eastern Conference semis to beat the Knicks in my check collection
00:28:19 is the phone bill he paid that day. Oh Darren Ravel. That's you. That's awesome. That's
00:28:24 huge. It's literally a bill. Yeah. He paid his phone bill but he has it. He has it that
00:28:30 same day. Yeah. He's quite a weirdo. Yeah. We're just the weirds. All right. So Hank
00:28:36 give us a Celtics Pacers series prediction as well. Celtics in five five. OK. So that
00:28:46 would easily cash my under four and a half losses that I said before. Yeah I could see
00:28:52 maybe going six but definitely not seven. OK. And Chris Hopps can be back. Yeah. Well
00:28:58 said it's it's imminent right. His return is imminent. Yeah. That's huge. Less than
00:29:04 several. That's what we're down to now. Yeah I think Celtics Mavs would actually maybe be
00:29:08 the funnest matchup. Yeah that would be fun because you get to go to Dallas. I didn't
00:29:16 think about that. Yeah. That's crazy. Yeah. More on that later when we have Mr. Bing Bong
00:29:20 on Jerry O'Connell. We should probably talk about the PGA Championship. Yeah. Let's talk
00:29:25 about what happened on Friday morning. Yeah. So we record part of my take. Go to sleep.
00:29:31 Wake up in the morning. First thing that I saw. Tweet alert. Jeff Darlington reports
00:29:36 that Scotty Sheffler has been arrested outside of Valhalla. And I don't know about you guys
00:29:42 but when you saw it what was your first reaction the same as mine which is like this is simply
00:29:47 not true. My friend I read it as Scotty Sheffler killed a man. Same. That's how I read it.
00:29:52 There was for the first 30 seconds that I had my eyes open. Yeah. I was like Scotty
00:29:57 Sheffler ran over someone. Holy fucking shit. Did you really. You thought it was Scotty
00:30:01 Scotty Sheffler just pulled a Tony Stewart. Yeah. I was like this is crazy. I saw the
00:30:06 mug shot and I was yeah I was like half asleep. I was like Scotty Sheffler arrested person
00:30:11 died from car accident. I was like oh my God. Yeah. Oh because it got lumped in. Yeah there
00:30:15 was a yeah. No that was a pedestrian fatality right in the morning. So I read that whole
00:30:19 thing together and that's what I thought. I was like oh my God this is crazy. It's it's
00:30:23 the wildest golf story maybe ever. Well Tiger Woods happened. Yeah. I would. Tiger Woods.
00:30:31 There was a lot of wild. You could do Tiger Woods part one Tiger Woods part two. I wouldn't
00:30:37 say it was the craziest but I think it's you know you just did. You just did your RG three.
00:30:41 No no no. But wait but wait. I guess the craziest sports story ever. Everyone's like dude Aaron
00:30:47 Hernandez. It's not. But why it might be up there for craziest golf. I'm not talking about
00:30:51 just the getting arrested part because obviously Tiger hasn't beaten just in terms of quantity.
00:30:55 Yeah. That one. But in terms of who you would expect this from. Yeah. Waking up to see Scotty
00:31:01 Sheffler has been arrested the morning of a PGA championship and thrown in jail and
00:31:05 charged with a felony assault on a police officer. And it's Scotty Sheffler. Yeah. That's
00:31:11 the crazy part. But Tiger Woods was Scotty Sheffler. No but he wasn't like. Yeah he was.
00:31:18 He wasn't like Scotty. Yeah he was. Mr. Super super squeaky. Yeah he was. I don't. Not to
00:31:23 the same extent. Tiger Woods got the Thanksgiving with with the car and everything. He was like
00:31:31 the perfect guy. No one knew that any of that shit was going on but Scotty is just so very
00:31:36 much I think you're forgetting how like squeaky clean Tiger Woods was. I remember. I do know
00:31:41 that he had a great image back in the day for sure. I remember it. I remember Tiger
00:31:44 Woods. It's been so long that we've been the other Tiger Woods that it clouds who the original
00:31:49 Tiger Woods was. He was like a break. I remember like reading stories were like brands are
00:31:54 coming themselves like because this gift from the heavens of Tiger Woods who's never done
00:32:00 anything wrong. He was born to play golf. Yeah but Scotty is in terms of just everything
00:32:04 that you've seen from on if it's the full swing behind the scenes documentary his interviews.
00:32:09 Oh it's shocking. He's like he's like a very boring. Yeah. Very nice guy. Yes. That's why
00:32:14 him getting arrested was no. Holy shit. It was shocking. I just remember so vividly when
00:32:19 Tiger Woods that whole thing happened I was like what he's done and he does what in a
00:32:23 Perkins restaurant. Yeah. Well you know the text is coming out. Yeah. Credit to Scottie's
00:32:28 lawyer by the way for it. I don't know how this normally works for regular Americans
00:32:32 but if you get arrested for felony assault on a police officer do they usually let you
00:32:37 out in two hours so you can make a tee time. So I think that police officer might have
00:32:41 been a little embarrassed with who he arrested after the fact. I would think so. I think
00:32:46 he might have not realized he was arresting the number one golfer in the world and then
00:32:50 after was like yeah but he dragged me on the ground in my pants ripped because reading
00:32:57 that police report there's just no way that Scottie Sheffield would've been let out like
00:33:03 30 minutes after. Yeah. It said I think the police report the officer's pants valued at
00:33:08 eighty nine dollars were damaged beyond repair which by the way if you read that if you just
00:33:12 know we'll buy those he will buy those. I would actually buy those. I'd wear those the
00:33:17 way that it's well you can't because they're beyond repair. Yeah we'd find a way. He massacred
00:33:22 those pants. They are the most destroyed pants in America right now. And but if you read
00:33:27 that that police report and just take it at the text value of it he might have shit his
00:33:32 pants. Oh. It didn't say like the pants were torn. It didn't say the pants got run over.
00:33:38 It said the pants are damaged beyond repair. This officer might have shit his pants and
00:33:44 destroyed his own pants. And then now Scottie Sheffield is getting arrested because he made
00:33:49 a police officer poop in his pants. That would be awesome if he pooped his pants after the
00:33:53 fact like the whole thing goes down. Yeah. Then he should arrest him. And then and then
00:33:57 is like sergeants like hey you realize you just arrested Scottie Sheffield and then he
00:34:01 shits himself. Yeah. And there's a few golfers on tour right now where it's like this guy
00:34:06 got arrested for doing that. Then you'd be like OK that sounds I guess not totally crazy
00:34:11 is it still crazy. Like if you told me John Daly Yeah. Did this I'd be like OK yeah fair
00:34:15 enough. Phil yeah Phil. I'd be like yep something something happened. But the Fox is a little
00:34:21 bit of a bad boy. I don't think you'd get arrested but it wouldn't. I wouldn't be like
00:34:24 what. Yeah but it'd be cool if you did. He would be he would be definitely a cool way
00:34:28 to get arrested. Great mugshot from him. The fact that Scottie then shot a 66. Yeah. Yeah
00:34:33 that was pretty impressive and he almost eagled the first hole. I thought that. So I thought
00:34:37 that he was going to go out there and shoot lights out in his first round because I don't
00:34:41 know if you guys have ever been arrested but the way it kind of goes is none of us have.
00:34:46 Yeah. Yeah. What do you mean. Oh the dog thing. Yeah I've been arrested three times. The same
00:34:53 and dogs spent a couple nights in a slammer. Oh yeah. You got you for Brady for. No but
00:34:59 like legitimately what happens is you get let out of jail in the morning and then you're
00:35:03 like that's pretty fucking cool like you're kind of feeling badass. And then the next
00:35:07 day is when all the repercussions and the thoughts about your future. Did I really screw
00:35:12 this up. Start to sink in. So he's he's riding off the high of all the adrenaline of breaking
00:35:17 the law because that's a cool feeling. Yeah. And then and then on Saturday how the fuck
00:35:23 I still don't think like so Scottie Sheffer got arrested on Friday morning. It was an
00:35:28 all time Internet moment. It was crazy. Goes out and shoots a 66. I know this is nuts to
00:35:36 say but I'm just gonna say it. I still think that the fact that his caddy skipped Saturday
00:35:40 is a bigger story. That's so crazy to me. He sucked on Saturday. He's a system golfer.
00:35:46 Ted Scott is the is the system. He's the reason why Scottie so yeah. And that one shot that
00:35:50 he had that ended up behind the fence. Yeah. I would love to have my cat either for that
00:35:54 one. I would love to not be Scottie's best friend who's on his bag being like this guy
00:35:57 like what the fuck do I do. I don't fucking know dude. Yeah. Why didn't you. Why did you
00:36:01 just have your caddy FaceTime his son. Call over another rules official please because
00:36:04 I don't know what to tell you what to do. Dad like I don't want to say it cost him the
00:36:08 tournament but Saturday was bad for him and he shot great again on Sunday when Ted Scott
00:36:13 came back. What did Scottie end up shooting with Ted Scott on his bag. It was probably
00:36:18 insane when he was like six under today. Yeah. I mean I that was a very unfortunate graduation
00:36:25 timing. You know it's really should have. Sky's you've got enough money should just
00:36:29 paid for the graduation to be on Monday. That would not be a great flex. Not a bad idea.
00:36:35 Just be like hey guys what I really love about the timing of all this though is Xander softly
00:36:39 wins. Yes. But it's majorly overshadowed by Scottie Shuffler getting arrested. So now
00:36:45 we can continue with our running theory of Xander softly will never win a major can't
00:36:50 win the big one is we'll all forget about this one. This was the Scottie Shuffler tournament
00:36:53 yes Scottie Shuffler shot a 67 66 73 and a 65. So if you just say that he shot a 67 which
00:37:03 was his worst score with Ted Scott on Saturday he he still wouldn't have won the tournament.
00:37:10 OK. That makes me feel better. Yeah but vibes he probably would have gone super low on Saturday.
00:37:14 Yeah. But Xander incredible performance by Xander especially because like he did have
00:37:21 to earn it. The the the moment in the back nine when he lost the lead for a minute I
00:37:29 think he had a bogey and then he had like great shot after great shot and even in the
00:37:33 end when he was playing a little safe with like three holes to go but he actually had
00:37:38 to birdie 18 to win the tournament was awesome and Xander softly he I know will keep going
00:37:45 with the he can't win the big one. But he was the only player in the top five world
00:37:51 rankings without a major championship. He had made 25 major cuts in his career in those
00:37:57 25 major cuts he made he had 13 top 10 seven top fives and four second or third place finishes.
00:38:04 He was like the guy ready to do it like the he he had been so close so many times in playing
00:38:10 such good golf. So I mean and short kings very short king. Yeah I've said that bunker
00:38:16 that's totally normal. That's above average. He could be anywhere from 5 7 to that's a
00:38:20 by age. You're not lumping 5 10 guys with a short kings. Well I mean he's listed at
00:38:25 five listed so he's like he's like Ronnie he's between 5 7 and 5 8. He's like Brian
00:38:29 is so was it on 18 that he had to hit that shot standing in the bunker the ball on the
00:38:33 lip of the bunker. That was a super hard shot. Yeah. And so he had to respond big time. Bryson
00:38:39 played Bryson got so lucky to bouncing it off a tree having it land in the middle of
00:38:43 the fairway. Yeah. And I had never noticed this about Bryson before. Maybe you guys have
00:38:47 you know every golfer has the yardage book that they put in their back pocket that giant
00:38:51 book. And so his name is Bryson DeChambeau. He has two middle names. One of them starts
00:38:57 with an A. So he just has the word bad sticking out of his out of his pocket. He has two middle
00:39:03 names. He's got two middle name. How far does that work. I don't know. I think the second
00:39:05 the first one starts with like the letter L. So he just doesn't acknowledge that one.
00:39:09 Wait. Oh that'd be funny. He was bald. It was bald. Yeah. No it's I think it's glad
00:39:13 I think it's B.L.A.D. but he's just walking around with bad sticking out of his ass. Do
00:39:18 we like Bryson now because I kind of do. I was really warm. I can't. So yeah. Here's
00:39:21 what happened to me. I'm rooting against Xander Shroffley simply for the narrative of Corra
00:39:26 and Shroffley not being able to win a major. And I find myself rooting for Bryce on Sunday
00:39:32 on the back nine. I'm I'm invested in every single one of Bryson shots. And it was a very
00:39:37 strange feeling for me. I did do something he because I said a couple weeks ago like
00:39:42 I watch his YouTube videos and I found myself liking him more. And I think he birdied one
00:39:46 of the first few holes and he like walked off and looked at the camera like he was like
00:39:49 doing a YouTube videos. Yeah. He said that after. So it's like so for my major championship
00:39:54 dude. My Bryson the the fact that I like him now I've wrestled with this because I had
00:40:01 the same feeling PFT where I was like I think I even tweeted I was like am I rooting for
00:40:05 Bryson right now. I think I am. Brooks squash the beef definitely helped us get there. I
00:40:11 do think he also has gone a little bit of the J.J. Watts story arc where if you're so
00:40:17 beyond corny and like do everything for the camera if you can just dial it back a little
00:40:23 and be somewhat normal person will immediately just be like you rock. We've got to drive
00:40:27 in him to produce all this content. Right there. So someone asked him about that Hank.
00:40:34 Someone said you had some really big moments on the course this week we're celebrating.
00:40:37 How have you kind of embraced being a true showman on the course and celebrating those
00:40:40 big moments. He said Yeah it's actually funny. YouTube has helped me understand that a little
00:40:44 bit more. When the moment comes knowing what to do what to say how to act is really important.
00:40:49 You know when I was younger I didn't understand what it was. Yeah I would have a great celebration
00:40:53 and whatnot but I didn't know what it meant and what I was doing it necessarily for. Now
00:40:58 I'm doing it a lot more for the fans and for the people around and trying to be a bit of
00:41:01 an entertainer that plays good golf every once in a while. So he did that answer. He
00:41:05 did that for us. Yeah. He. Thank you. He is. Come all the way back around where he's like
00:41:10 I'm I can't just be so like weirdly standoffish and corny. I have to be a little bit of a
00:41:16 human being and it works for him now. Like I feel like he's come into his own. Did you
00:41:21 also see the clip where he threw the ball to the little kid in a adult grabbed it and
00:41:25 tried to run off and he stopped. This is the middle of the tournament stopped and was like
00:41:29 get back here right now and made the guy give the ball to the little kid. Yeah. Ravel did
00:41:34 not want to give that ball away. No. That rocks. Right. I like Bryson. How I. OK. I'm
00:41:40 not ready. I'm not ready to say that that I like him just because it's a weird feeling.
00:41:44 It's like my body's confused watching him. It's like wait. I always thought that I've
00:41:47 not liked watching this kind of stuff and now it's on I'm like wait is my body telling
00:41:51 me I kind of like it a little bit. Yeah. And so it's a very confusing time but it was.
00:41:56 I'm closer to liking Bryson than I've ever been. I'm very sexual. Maybe it's Bryson is
00:42:01 like an IPA. Oh you drink an IPA when you're 22. Yeah. And you're like this is gross. And
00:42:08 you get a little older you're like oh this is kind of nice different flavor. Yeah. Yeah.
00:42:12 I'm not I'm not opposed to it. Yeah. I don't want I don't want more than four or five.
00:42:16 I don't think I'm going to go up to him and thank him for all the content that he puts
00:42:20 out and tell him that I like to do online. If I ever saw him I definitely would. Just
00:42:24 to say it's getting closer just to say that getting closer. Yeah. Bryson damn. Is he the
00:42:29 only guy who went to live and became cooler. Brooks Brooks Brooks Brooks was already cool
00:42:35 but he's so cool. But like he didn't have there's nothing he he does make some cool
00:42:39 he's already the coolest. I'm saying Bryson went to live like everyone goes has gone to
00:42:44 live and it feels like they've taken a ding in terms of public perception. Bryson somehow
00:42:50 has beaten that. Yeah. John Rahm is a shell of himself. He did not make the cut. What
00:42:57 story is Greg Norman. Is he. Everyone loves him now. Oh yeah he was probably there. Remember
00:43:01 his hand with. He hurt his hand from shaking so many hands at a guy. Yeah. Yeah. People
00:43:05 probably coming up to him. So he's gotten more. Yeah. His image has improved. Yeah.
00:43:09 Blocky didn't make the cut either. I didn't finish dead last. Blocky Tiger. Blocky being
00:43:14 all over TVs during this tournament was so funny. That was. Yeah. I kind of wish that
00:43:21 had never happened. No. That whole one that is all what was cool. Yeah. Yeah. The colon
00:43:28 one was cool. All right. Yeah that was cool. Yeah. So Tiger. Blocky Tiger not looking so
00:43:33 great. That's tough. It's tough watching him out there. Also for guys like us who love
00:43:39 the course. What a fucking pussy Valhalla is. Yeah. Got absolutely demolished. Found
00:43:45 some. What. From Justin Ray one of the best in the business when it comes to golf statistics
00:43:51 just gives us that lowest combined score to par by field PGA Championship history. Twenty
00:43:59 twenty four Valhalla two hundred and fourteen under par. The next 1995 Riviera 40 over par
00:44:07 for the field. Wow. That's crazy. Wait what course is that. Riviera. Forty over par 40
00:44:15 over all the scores combined. Yeah higher field respect the best ever by the field in
00:44:21 a PGA Championship before this year was 40 over. That's insane. Two hundred and four.
00:44:25 I mean think about it. The. Let's see I'm scrolling down the 72nd position was was under
00:44:34 par. Braden Shattuck went minus one and he finished 72nd by himself. That's nuts. It's
00:44:42 embarrassing. It's easy. We were arresting the best players. Yes. So they're arresting
00:44:46 the best only defense they have. So it's an important question. If you're a real golf
00:44:50 fan you're asking yourself this this morning should should the PGA Championship ever come
00:44:54 back to Valhalla. You're arrested the number one guy in the world. Your course got its
00:44:58 pants pulled down but it was a great finish. It was a great fit and they have great finishes
00:45:03 there was a great finish and no I got no other end. Guys had to walk miles on Friday. Yeah
00:45:11 I think it was Willie Z and a few others they had to get out of their car and just walk
00:45:14 to the clubhouse. Who says these guys aren't athletes. Yeah. Can I also just say one thing
00:45:20 about the golf broadcast and just watching these champs these majors which you know watching
00:45:26 major golf is awesome. It's the best when you have a weekend. I already know what weekend
00:45:32 the U.S. Open is. It's the best. Can they just stop trying to like will Rory down our
00:45:39 throats. The guy isn't like yeah he competed St. Andrews he was close there. It feels like
00:45:45 every major we watch Rory is you know teeing off early on Sunday he makes a couple good
00:45:51 shots they try to show us like we'll look out for Rory. Yeah. What do you mean look
00:45:55 out for Rory. He was 10 strokes off the lead. I think you become a lookout for this guy.
00:46:00 It's usually early in your career. If you win a few tournaments early then you're just
00:46:04 going to be talked about for the rest of your life. Like if you're out there oh Rory's lurking.
00:46:08 He finished nine strokes off the lead and they were showing him like down the stretch
00:46:14 being like man if he strings together a couple birdies here he could be in the clubhouse
00:46:18 seven strokes off the lead. Yeah they're always going to do that for like Rory. It's just
00:46:23 every time speed to speed the lead. But Rory it feels like it's just way too much and it's
00:46:28 just come on. I don't need I want to see the live shots. Don't let me miss a live shot
00:46:32 because you're trying to tell me that Rory could you know get six consecutive hole in
00:46:38 ones and then still be three strokes off the lead. They're playing a lot of old clips of
00:46:42 him winning there in what 2014. Yeah. So the tie into the course was important for them.
00:46:48 They want to highlight him as much as possible. But when they show those clips it really hammered
00:46:52 home. He doesn't look like the same golf that he was back then. No look out for Rory. Look
00:46:57 out for Rory. Rory lurking. I'm going to keep you know what. I'm good. I don't need to look
00:47:01 out for him anymore. I'm going to keep looking out for him. I'm going to remain vigilant.
00:47:04 You're going to stand back and stand by. Yeah I'm not done with him yet. All right. Anything
00:47:08 else before we do who's back of the week sees the gray one the preakness kind of a disappointment
00:47:16 because we wanted to see a triple crown and maybe an asterisk with Mystic Dan. Yeah. It
00:47:22 was it would have been good for the sport. Yeah it was. Randy Moss nailed his pick on
00:47:26 Friday. Shout out Randy. He did. If you listen to Randy he gives you the picks on Friday
00:47:30 and they always hit. Yeah. And yeah it was a great sports weekend all around. All right.

00:48:55 back a week. Who's back the week is NASCAR fight. Oh yeah. Two is great. Yeah. Late Sunday
00:49:02 night. Who was it. Kyle soprano Kyle Bush rowdy and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. They're calling
00:49:11 him a wrecky Stenhouse Jr. Yeah I'm assuming it's because one of the guys drove the other
00:49:15 one off the road. Well here's the crazy part about this fight. If you haven't seen the
00:49:19 video the fight it's awesome. I think everyone in the world hates Kyle Bush and every time
00:49:25 I don't but I'm saying like all the other NASCAR drivers do every time Kyle Bush gets
00:49:30 in a fight it takes me a second. I'm like is this Joey Lugano. Yeah. And then I'm like
00:49:34 no wait no it's not Kyle Bush. But Ricky Stenhouse crashed and I think the second lap. So he
00:49:43 waited around for one hundred ninety eight laps to fight Kyle Bush after the race. Respect.
00:49:49 So so you're waiting that long. You have to throw up and then and then they had a confrontation
00:49:54 and Stenhouse was just having a it looked like they were having a conversation. It was
00:49:58 just like talking to each other. And then at one point something snapped in Ricky's
00:50:02 brain he's like fuck it I'm just gonna throw hands. And it looked like he got two shots
00:50:05 and didn't knock him down. You got to knock him down. Yeah. Yeah. I would like to see
00:50:10 in and Kyle didn't fight back so I don't know if he knew that a punch was coming or not
00:50:14 but he does have a punchable face. Well some of the other guys like some of the other team
00:50:17 members came in and they were they were fighting after the cruise started. That's my favorite
00:50:21 part. It's great because it does feel like NASCAR has a special level of bad blood in
00:50:26 all these fights because they see each other every weekend. They're wrecking every weekend.
00:50:31 Yeah these other guys just hopping in just grabbing an awesome fight. I would hire an
00:50:35 MMA guy to be in my garage. Yeah. Ask our driver just like ready to unleash him at any
00:50:39 second. Kyle Busch does have a punchable face. Do you guys do the same thing where you're
00:50:43 like is that Joey Logano. I think it's Joey Logano because I'm like I would like to punch
00:50:47 Joey Logano. Yeah. I think it's just every time I see someone getting in a fight I'm
00:50:51 like oh here comes Joey's Logano getting punched again. Yeah. Whenever something bad happens
00:50:55 to somebody on the Internet my first thought is usually I hope that happened to Joey's
00:50:58 Logano. Yeah. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. might be just I mean he was born to be. That's a NASCAR
00:51:04 name through and through. I'm sure his dad. I'm sure NASCAR people are gonna be mad at
00:51:09 his name. Sure. He's like fourth generation NASCAR. His name is probably actually just
00:51:13 Ricky. Yeah. Also I read Ricky Bobby. Yeah. Ricky. But Stenhouse and a junior. Well down
00:51:20 in her heart. Yeah. A Ricky or a junior. Yeah. No you're proving my point. Yeah. Yeah. I
00:51:27 got it right. Right. Right. I wait. Hold on. I'm gonna look up Ricky Stenhouse and make
00:51:31 sure let's see how many how many lines of Stenhouse's. I don't know. I'm sure there's
00:51:38 probably many. It was a good fight though. It was good. Love a good scrap from the boys.
00:51:42 Yeah. Great. My who's back the week is interns. We're finally doing it. We're going to post
00:51:48 the the link for people to apply to be our PMT summer intern this summer. Oh boy. Looking
00:51:57 for someone in Chicago local. And there's a just fill the submission form. There's there's
00:52:03 place of put in videos and your resume stuff like that. I'll probably do interviews the
00:52:07 next couple of weeks and then start after basketball ends. OK. What are we looking for.
00:52:13 I don't know. That's what I'm excited to find out. Shorter fat. No. Oh you can't say that.
00:52:19 They can be they can be any size short and fat would be great. Smaller smaller than me
00:52:25 or wider. Yeah. We can't say sizes. OK. Strike that from the record. We would like a very
00:52:33 qualified plus qualified young man or woman or older or older to say young. Yeah. Also
00:52:41 yeah you're right. Old they could be old or middle aged. Submit some content that you've
00:52:46 done submit some content. Yeah that's what we there is a video submission so it's like
00:52:49 if you're just going to email us with like please hire me I would love you will be like
00:52:52 you won't even get a second. We're not going to look twice. Yeah. But if you also anyone
00:52:57 have made videos do make videos or have built a following on your own like it could even
00:53:03 be a couple thousand people that that does get you a little bit more of a look because
00:53:09 it means that you're actually creating content you can't just be like hey I'm my friends
00:53:13 think I'm funny I should be on the show. Yeah. And also it's not going to be necessarily
00:53:17 on the show like like it's not like hey we're hiring someone to just sit on the show and
00:53:23 hopefully you'll be our best friend but you might not be. Yeah. Think about listening
00:53:25 to this right now is the start of your own personal championship DVD. Yeah. From here
00:53:30 on out especially if you're a shorter fat person or young old. No you can't. Max are
00:53:36 you going to cut that. I don't know. I I'm legally saying you could be any size any size
00:53:44 literally any size. I can say it again I'm not going to say it again. I'm not going to
00:53:50 say it again. You just can't be you can't be like really really good looking. That's
00:53:56 you. I think we could say that. Like I would really really good looking like come on dude
00:54:00 go get another job. Yeah. Don't don't work with us. We're fucking mutants unless you
00:54:04 have a good following and you make good content. No no we can't hire someone who's like super
00:54:12 good look although what if they started dating Beyonce. Anything else. No it's my respect.
00:54:18 Nothing else about the interns. No we'll post the links apply and then try and get it done
00:54:23 the next couple of weeks. All right. 50. My who's back. Max just keeps shaking. I would
00:54:31 do the gym go. Don't shake your fucking head. Why are you shaking. Don't shake your fucking
00:54:35 head. Not a dime back. What's your issue Max. I have no issue. I just know there's legal
00:54:40 issues with me saying that we want short and fat people which isn't which is not true.
00:54:45 It's something you could say but I would never say it. It's called satire. It's a big time
00:54:49 sets are now I've actually boxed myself out. We can't hire a short fat person like I've
00:54:55 fucked myself. I like my my who's back in the week is shorts. Oh short season. My other
00:55:03 who's back in the week is sex. You almost got me. Well shorts are back. Yeah they are.
00:55:08 Weather's so nice. So I'm wearing shorts. I was waiting for big cat to just go. What
00:55:13 about that. Shorts and fats both. My other is back in the week is sex stories from the
00:55:18 Olympics. That's how you know the Olympics are about to happen. Oh shit. I forgot the
00:55:22 limit. Yeah. This is how I found out. OK. Actually the New York Post put out an article
00:55:26 about the beds that they built at the Olympics this year. They hired the same people from
00:55:30 Tokyo 2020 when they built the sex proof beds because of covid and they're like we can't
00:55:34 have athletes fucking. So they build these collapsible beds that are like stacked on
00:55:39 cardboard boxes essentially. They can support one person's weight as long as you're not
00:55:43 too fat. This is your you're right. Like this is how the Olympics just let us know they'd
00:55:47 just something about sex. Yeah it's usually like they've airlifted in 500 tons of condoms.
00:55:53 That's another big story. But this this is the second time in a row we're getting the
00:55:57 sex bed story. So they're all they're making the athletes sleep in single beds and they're
00:56:01 built on these like cardboard frames so it can't really fit two people space wise. And
00:56:06 even if they try to then it would collapse. Yeah. So I'm sure they'll figure out their
00:56:11 way around it. They'll probably just fuck everywhere else in the room. Yeah I mean it
00:56:15 is. These are the most athletic people in the world. I don't think they need a bed to
00:56:19 have sex. People that need a bed to have sex are people like like normal people like us.
00:56:23 Yeah. Like if you don't have a bed like you're going to wake up in the morning your back's
00:56:26 going to be thrown out. Right. But these people can they can do it anywhere. Yeah I mean it's
00:56:30 the horniest collection of people in the world. Yeah. Because they're all insane shape and
00:56:34 young and they've been training for this moment the minute their moment is over they're like
00:56:38 what are we going to do. We're going to eat McDonald's and have sex. Yeah it's honestly
00:56:41 great. Yeah. Good for them. Good for them. All right. My who's back the week I was going
00:56:45 to say fights in general because the NASCAR fight but we also had a heavyweight fight
00:56:49 on Saturday. I don't know if you guys were able to tune in but it was awesome. Tyson
00:56:53 Fury lost. You sick beat him in 12 rounds. It was an awesome fight because Tyson Fury
00:57:00 did his classic Tyson Fury where he was out basically cold on his feet in the ninth and
00:57:06 then still fought the rest of the fight and was close to winning it. But the right the
00:57:11 right fighter won but it was just Tyson Fury is just fun to watch fight because he just
00:57:17 throws and you never know when he could be knocked out and then totally be fine the next
00:57:22 round. Yeah I love it. So I didn't watch the entire fight. I did watch the highlights of
00:57:26 the fight including the walkouts which you said won that. Yeah it's down. And in the
00:57:30 ninth round I saw somebody posted a video that was filmed in their own living room of
00:57:35 their television. So that one didn't get posted. That one didn't get taken down online so I
00:57:40 was able to watch it and it was impressive because Tyson Fury he gets not it's a knockdown
00:57:46 but he never actually hit the ground. He gave him a standing eight. They give him a standing
00:57:49 eight count and then he came back and survived that somehow if you can get knocked out on
00:57:52 your feet and then continue to fight for another two rounds you should almost get the win.
00:57:58 It was incredible to watch because he was in music was awesome and just like kicking
00:58:03 his ass in that ninth round. But still Tyson Fury I mean he's done it many times before
00:58:09 he's like the one fighter when you watch. I chose my words carefully I was like Tyson
00:58:13 Fury is in deep water because I knew he's the type of guy that if you're like Tyson
00:58:17 Fury is done. Yeah he'll come back and he'll just knock someone else out him in eight years.
00:58:22 Yeah they just they get they just need to get knocked around a little bit but it was
00:58:26 a great fight. I think it was Tyson Fury's first loss. So now there's an automatic rematch.
00:58:30 I like that. But now you say his undisputed. Yes undisputed. Yes. He has them all. He's
00:58:35 beaten everyone. And then Tyson Fury a little bit. Maybe not the nicest thing when he's
00:58:40 just like oh yeah you sick. He's Ukrainian. They're at war so people feel bad for him.
00:58:45 That's why they voted for him. I don't think so. Yeah I think he kind of knocked you out.
00:58:48 I think he won. Yeah he won the fight. Yeah. All right Jake finish soft. My who's back
00:58:53 of the week is elite pitching. Oh we had elite pitching at Wrigley Field on Yoda in multiple
00:58:58 ways. Yeah. Paul Skeens on Friday. Oh you were good. I was sure. I said multiple ways
00:59:03 and my chronic chronological order. OK. Paul Skeens I think he struck out the first seven
00:59:08 batters. He's awesome. And then your guy showed a show to on Saturday. Yeah. One nothing walk
00:59:14 off. Yeah. Some people saying controversial but oh I mean yeah I mean Cody Bellinger definitely
00:59:21 hit it out of his hand. Yeah. I don't care. But I was needed to win. They can't hit for
00:59:26 shit. But yeah Paul Skeens Paul Skeens is really fucking. Yeah. I love it. I love it
00:59:31 when when young prospects step up and it's a big moment and they're better than you thought
00:59:35 they'd be. Oh yeah. Having a sick pitching prospect who I mean he was he won the national
00:59:41 championship last year and he's already up doing this. He's awesome. So what are the
00:59:46 rules on showed up by the way is under one year. I just want to say he's fucking phenomenal.
00:59:51 What are the rules on hitting the ball out of the catcher's hand. I would say that was
00:59:54 probably illegal but I don't care because it helped me. I would say OK that's fair.
00:59:58 Well it was a transfer so he tagged him and then he transferred it and then Bellinger
01:00:05 kind of knocked it out on the train wasn't like an A-Rod knocking out where he had to
01:00:09 go out of the way his hands were up to slide so it looked natural. Yeah I think that's
01:00:14 why they didn't overturn it because the ump was screened off from that but I can be honest
01:00:18 and say that yes he hit the ball out of his hand. Yeah. My rule of thumb on all plays
01:00:22 like these is did they call it. They reviewed it and they gave it to the Cubs. Yeah. So
01:00:28 they didn't call it. So they called them safe. Yeah. They reviewed it and then the Cubs won.
01:00:32 Yeah. So I think that's right. And the Cubs needed to win. My my son by the way today
01:00:37 I took him to Wrigley for five innings and he was like Dad there's a ticket lady. I was
01:00:42 like this is a proud proud moment. You tell him that's Chuck E. Cheese. I was just like
01:00:47 no he's the he's not Chuck E. Cheese. That's my daughter. He's he knows the 50 50 raffle
01:00:52 again we lost. He's a fucking mush. But still for him to be like hey there's the ticket
01:00:57 lady. Yeah. That's a pretty. Actually I think he said there's the ticket girl. And it was
01:01:02 if you've ever been to Wrigley everyone who works at Wrigley is 85 years old. I can't
01:01:07 believe we didn't put that together sooner that your daughter is just like you. You both
01:01:11 go places spend a lot of money on tickets that don't get you anything. Yeah. Well my
01:01:15 son was today with the ticket girl. Yeah. My my yeah my daughter Chuck E. Cheese. Yeah
01:01:19 but they both know what I'm saying. Yeah. You. Yes. And your daughter. Yes. Are the
01:01:23 same person. Yes absolutely. One hundred percent. Yep. She's a troll to big time troll trolls
01:01:30 trolls a lot. She trolls me a lot. OK. Should we get to our interviews. We got great interviews.

01:03:11 Now here's P.K. Subban. Okay we now welcome on a very special guest. You can see him on
01:03:17 ESPN for the Stanley Cup playoffs. He played many years in the NHL. It is P.K. Subban. P.K.
01:03:25 first of all thank you for joining us. We want to we have a ton of questions but I think
01:03:29 we have to start with the game that you will be in the broadcast studio for tonight as
01:03:37 we air this on Monday. Game 7 Canucks Oilers. So I guess the first question is who do you
01:03:43 have winning. And then if the Oilers don't win are we as fans allowed to say that McDavid
01:03:49 can't win the big one. Well first of all I picked Edmonton to win this series. I believe
01:03:54 in six. So I got to check my bracket for exact numbers but I had Edmonton winning this. And
01:04:01 you know I always bet on the players. So when I think of who am I going up against or who
01:04:06 am I going to watch play this round I'm saying Connor McDavid. This is you know he's had
01:04:11 a couple of cracks at this now. I have to feel that his best hockey is going to continue
01:04:16 to get better as the playoffs go on and we're going to see more and more of it over the
01:04:19 years. So I just think that their team this year coming down the stretch I thought they
01:04:24 were playing such great hockey. I had the confidence to say you know what I think Edmonton
01:04:29 win this in six. Now that it's in seven games and I've seen the Vancouver Canucks now go
01:04:34 you know lose their number one goaltender lose their number two goaltender have Susie
01:04:40 missed the game have guys in and out of the lineup guys banged up Elias Pedersen you know
01:04:44 kind of just woke up in game five right came alive came into the series really and is now
01:04:50 having an impact. I really think this is gonna be a tough game seven for Edmonton to win.
01:04:55 I believe that. I know that they had it all going on in game six but I think Vancouver
01:05:00 at home you know coached by Rick Tocant you know these guys you know they're going to
01:05:06 have to fight for every inch you know McDavid and dry side aren't getting any free passes
01:05:11 and Vancouver is definitely going to you know they're going to clean up the fact that they
01:05:15 took too many penalties in game six. So I expect them to be more disciplined but I'm
01:05:19 going to ride with Connor McDavid when it's all said and done. I'm going to say that I
01:05:23 think Connor figures it out finds a way to get his team over the hump and into a conference
01:05:27 final. Now if they do lose I think it's outrageous to think that Connor McDavid can't win a Stanley
01:05:35 Cup or isn't good enough to win one. I think people are insane for thinking that. I won't
01:05:39 even I will entertain it on your podcast because I know who you guys are. You guys have you
01:05:45 guys have my respect in this game and you guys obviously have earned a lot of people's
01:05:49 respect but for most people that talk about Connor McDavid I don't even have the discussion
01:05:53 with them about it because I see this guy's the best player that maybe we've ever seen
01:05:57 play the game skill wise. Yeah. Something he can do out there. So it's a team sport.
01:06:04 He's the ultimate team sport. You've got to have the horses to win. And I still don't
01:06:08 think that their team on paper is good enough to win the Stanley Cup this year. But it's
01:06:12 not always about what's on paper right. It's getting bodies healthy and elevating your
01:06:17 game at the right time. And I will speak for myself but I think I might speak for PFT as
01:06:21 well when I say that Connor McDavid is so much fun to watch. He's so good. He's the
01:06:26 best player in the sport. We believe all those things but we wouldn't be doing our job if
01:06:32 we didn't latch on to a very easy can't win the big one narrative. That's like the best
01:06:37 thing to do in sports is you can't win the big one. Just put it in NBA terms for me.
01:06:41 It sounds like he's the NHL version of Chris Paul. Yeah. Can't win. Well hold on. Well
01:06:49 no offense to Chris Paul. Love Chris Paul. Veteran guy grinded out the NBA played at
01:06:55 an elite level for a long time. Like I got nothing bad to say about Chris. But Chris
01:06:59 Paul but he's not in the same category as Connor McDavid in terms of impact in sport.
01:07:04 Connor McDavid like we're talking about putting the all time greats together. And who is the
01:07:09 most talented like Connor McDavid is coming out of that group. Like there's no one even
01:07:13 close that can do the things at top speed that he does night in and night out. Like
01:07:17 guys see if he wants to put up three four points a night he can. That may not always
01:07:24 result in his team winning a hockey game. That's what's that's why the Stanley Cup is
01:07:28 the hardest trophy to win. Right. Is it's not just about an individual taking over again.
01:07:33 I would go. I would say this if the Edmonton Oilers lose in Game 7 and Connor McDavid doesn't
01:07:39 show up on the score sheet or doesn't show to have been the best player one of the best
01:07:43 players on the ice then 100 percent. There's got to be questions asked about why whether
01:07:48 he and I didn't think in Game 6 he shot the puck enough. Yeah. You had three assists but
01:07:53 I've seen him be way more aggressive than that. So is he injured. Is he bagged up. Is
01:07:58 he 100 percent. I don't know. But we have to see his best game come Game 7 of the season.
01:08:03 He has to. And you know I give him credit though he's been extremely patient. He's been
01:08:07 a leader. He's really grown into that role. He hasn't tried to force the envelope. He
01:08:12 hasn't tried to do too much. It really looks like he's settling to how he has to play to
01:08:17 win in the playoffs. And I think that that's what we have. The people that know hockey
01:08:20 and watch the game we see those things. Yeah. Yeah. You can't you can't say that this guy
01:08:25 can't win. Well we know we can. I'm definitely going to because it's fun to say that. And
01:08:31 he hasn't has Chris Paul's been to a finals right. He's he did go to the finals. Yeah.
01:08:36 As Connor McDavid. So I mean we can say all these things. He lost to Yon again. We don't
01:08:40 want to. This hurts me. I like Connor McDavid a lot. I love watching him play hockey but
01:08:45 we wouldn't be doing our job if we didn't say this and we kind of got you in the argument
01:08:49 right there because you started saying like if he doesn't show up in Game 7 we got you.
01:08:53 We drug you down to the deck. I don't I don't give any players a free pass. Connor McDavid
01:09:00 at the start of the playoffs. I said OK I've seen this guy now four or five six years in
01:09:05 the playoffs where he's getting three four points a game but they're still losing. So
01:09:09 I'm saying that he's got to make adjustments in his game like Sidney Crosby did when Sidney
01:09:15 Crosby if you watch Sidney Crosby his career his game changed like three different times
01:09:20 man. He reinvented himself and added things to his game. That's why I still believe he's
01:09:25 the best all around player in the game today. But as far as skill and skill set goes that's
01:09:30 Connor McDavid and he's still learning how to do that. So it's difficult to become a
01:09:34 winner in this league. It's not just based on you. I think Edmonton has enough pieces
01:09:39 but does he have the team the full team to win a championship. I don't think you can
01:09:43 put that pressure on him. Listen he's going to put the pressure on the team he wants to
01:09:47 win. So he's going to say yes Stanley Cup or bust. But when you look at the National
01:09:51 Hockey League and teams to win the cup Edmonton's team on paper isn't where the Dallas Stars
01:09:56 were even the Vegas Golden Knights Rangers or Florida doesn't mean they can't win. You
01:10:01 know that's why you have the best player in the world. Then you have Leon Dreyfus is you
01:10:05 always have a chance when you have those guys on the ice. So I looked up. So we have the
01:10:09 time on ice per game conversation. Yeah sure. I looked up the time on ice for Connor McDavid.
01:10:13 He plays this year he played 21 minutes 22 seconds per game. That was his average. Nicola
01:10:19 Nicola Yoke itch plays 40 minutes per game. Oh wow. NBA. That's a lot. Why doesn't Connor
01:10:23 McDavid just play more. Oh Patrick Mahomes I think took every single offensive snap.
01:10:28 Well again the Chiefs will game in the Super Bowl. OK. Let me let me tell you why. So in
01:10:33 football and basketball you can run out of bounds. So Patrick Mahomes get chased by a
01:10:37 tight end. He's getting chased by a linebacker. He can run out of bounds. He doesn't have
01:10:41 to get hit. Where's Connor McDavid going. It was a door of tries to chase him around
01:10:46 the ice. He's in the bag anywhere. It's a good point. I looked. It's a fair point. So
01:10:50 I looked up Christian Pulisic minutes per game. He plays usually the entire game in
01:10:55 soccer. So wow. Yeah. Different sport. Yeah. And by the way two out of those three sports
01:11:02 you need football basketball and soccer. Well I'm going to tell you something right now
01:11:07 in terms of toughness we're not going to talk about soccer with hockey players not taking
01:11:11 it away from soccer but it's not even they're not even in the conversation. Football's in
01:11:16 the conversation. Different sport. Right. A whole lot more players less players in hockey.
01:11:21 Not only that you can't play the whole you can't play the whole game in hockey. Do you
01:11:25 know how hard it is to play hockey. Forty five second shifts all out going 30 miles
01:11:31 an hour blocking shots. Like it's a different game. So I don't think you can compare Patrick
01:11:37 Mahomes to Conor McDavid because he plays the whole time. Right. Right. Patrick Mahomes
01:11:42 won a lot of their championships. In terms of their impact. Yes. And their skill set.
01:11:47 Yes. But as far as like how much they're on the field or on the ice it's like apples to
01:11:51 oranges. We're done. We're done fucking. Welcome to part of my take. We did. That was a great
01:11:56 interview. You got me now. That was a great interview. You know what. I like it. Yeah.
01:12:01 Let's go. You showed some fight rings are off. Yes. Speaking of fighting. So we're hockey
01:12:06 fans I think we're probably the definition of casuals on this show but we love watching
01:12:10 especially playoff hockey. The one thing that I am always missing in playoff hockey is more
01:12:15 fighting and I just had an idea for a rule want to get your take on it. What if you just
01:12:19 said in the playoffs each team gets one fight per game and it doesn't get penalized. People
01:12:25 they don't want to fight the playoffs because they don't want to take a stupid penalty.
01:12:28 They want to put themselves in a position where they might get bounced in their seasons
01:12:31 over because they fought somebody. Why don't we just do one fight per game and it's totally
01:12:36 legal. You can do that. Go back and send your guys back to the bench afterwards. Your enforcers
01:12:40 skate off the ice and come back whenever but just one per game as like as like a free pass
01:12:46 leave fighting alone. If the players want to fight let them fight. I don't want to put
01:12:51 a limit on it. If guys want to fight let them go. Like the reality of the game is today
01:12:57 you need guys that can play. So if you if you end up going to draft in 22 guys that
01:13:02 can play first rounders that can play in different positions and they happen to know how to fight.
01:13:08 Great you're going to have a really skilled and tough team. It don't mean you're going
01:13:11 to win anything. So you know what I'm saying is we saw Matthew Kachuk and David Fasternak
01:13:16 fight in the playoffs. What's better than that. Seeing two stars go at it right. Like
01:13:21 you want to talk about it. I would have loved to see Kobe and LeBron duke it out in basketball
01:13:27 at some point in time. But that was never going to happen because in basketball they
01:13:31 don't let them fight. Right. So what I'm saying is hockey has that special element
01:13:36 to it that if the star players get when they get emotionally engaged and this is what we
01:13:41 love about the Stanley Cup playoffs is that in other sports I feel like you can play and
01:13:46 not be fully engaged in hockey. You can't take a shift off like you can't like you could
01:13:51 take you lose your focus for one second. That can cost you your season or it can cost you.
01:13:56 Listen it can cost you your personal playoff run. You can get hurt. Seriously hurt. We've
01:14:01 seen guys get hurt. So Stanley Cup playoffs is no joke. And when it comes to fighting
01:14:06 I love to see it in the game at the right time. And now every team usually has maybe
01:14:11 one guy that can go a heavyweight guy. I don't mind seeing him go once in a while but don't
01:14:15 put a limit on it. Let the guys go. You want to go. Let them go. OK. I like that. That's
01:14:19 a better idea. Yeah. OK. So we talked about the Oilers Canucks waiting for them as the
01:14:24 Dallas Stars who have looked really really good in these plans especially in the first
01:14:27 round. You know in talking to our hockey guys Witten biz they both said like the Knights
01:14:33 or the Stars could easily win the Stanley Cup. The fact they have to play each other
01:14:36 in the first round is crazy. But what is it about the Stars and the way they're playing.
01:14:40 Is it just the depth they have and they just can roll out the lines or what what what has
01:14:45 impressed you with the Stars thus far. Well what's impressed me the most is let's give
01:14:51 Jim Neal credit. I mean to build this team the way that he's built it. The credit has
01:14:57 to start there. And you know I took I started doing media not because I wanted to expose
01:15:04 the players. The players are the product. I want to uplift the players and celebrate
01:15:08 them. I'd probably be more inclined to be a little bit more judgmental and critical
01:15:13 of management coaches and GMs and stuff like that. But when I see a GM that has been consistently
01:15:20 making his team better every year and it's been a while Jim Neal's been added right.
01:15:25 And to see Dallas I've seen that team go through some some shift over some trades you talk
01:15:30 about Radulov and different guys. The Chushkin used to play that guys would come through
01:15:34 there and they just managed to draft so well bring in free agents slot them in at the right
01:15:39 place. So I think that this is a team that has been so well built from top to bottom
01:15:46 and Jim Neal deserves a lot of credit. Pete DeVore we know how great of a coach he is.
01:15:50 So now he's taken those pieces and he's getting the most out of them every night. But more
01:15:54 importantly it's structure it's discipline and it's giving everybody a role. Everybody
01:15:59 is important on that Dallas Stars team. When you watch them play everybody's embraced the
01:16:05 same way. And it starts with leadership. Jamie Benn has been at it for a long time and he
01:16:10 wants to win and you can see he's the right leader. You can see him physically whether
01:16:14 he has to step up and score a big goal he's doing it but it's their temperament for me.
01:16:18 And listen you have Joe Pavelski you got Ryan Suter on the back end. You got Jay Ottinger
01:16:22 and that was in the top five boys. It's just for me the main ingredient for them outside
01:16:28 of their veterans their experience. It's the young players. I mean Stan Colvin Wyatt Johnston
01:16:35 like steel like these guys have come in and made a huge difference without those guys.
01:16:40 They're not in the position that they're in right now. Those guys are bringing a tremendous
01:16:44 amount of energy and juice to that team that allows them to sustain that structure and
01:16:48 that playing style game in and game out like you watch Dallas. They're rarely out of a
01:16:53 game like when do you ever see them completely out of the game. They're in the mix because
01:16:57 they have a great balance of young and veteran players and it's the right mix right leadership
01:17:03 and it starts with the management at the top. Dallas has they're in a perfect spot right
01:17:07 now. I mean they got to be really really excited about the opportunity they have. Yeah yeah.
01:17:12 Yeah. Rest up a little bit. So sticking out West actually kind of a bigger picture question
01:17:16 for you. Do you think this is as big as hockey's ever been in the history of the sport.
01:17:23 I think it's a pivotal time. I think with the changing landscape in media and sports
01:17:29 in general there's just been a lot of changes over the past let's say six to eight years.
01:17:34 You know just in the world in general on the ship and you know live television and sports
01:17:39 is become right to the forefront and it's just continued to grow. And I think that has
01:17:43 opened up a lane for hockey because in my opinion since I played the game hockey is
01:17:49 probably the only professional sport that has like an immense amount of room for growth.
01:17:55 You know like we're just tapping in to what like people are just discovering our sport
01:18:00 in some ways. And it's crazy because there's an immense amount of history there. And that's
01:18:05 what people hang their hat on. That's what people want to celebrate is history. And hockey's
01:18:09 got a tremendous amount of rich history. So once we get people to just sit down and get
01:18:15 to know the game and understand the game and then you know once we get them that little
01:18:20 bit of like intrigueness we have. You know we don't lose our fans. We our fans stay hockey
01:18:26 fans stay their loyal fans. So I think that coming over to ESPN has definitely helped
01:18:32 using that platform and we're trying to do the best that we can to grow the game. But
01:18:37 make no doubt about it starts with the players and the product and starts you guys like Conor
01:18:41 McDavid the Jack Fuses of the world all these guys the Lafreniere's even Annette the goaltender
01:18:47 should start. It's just we have so many so much great talent in the game today from young
01:18:53 guys that are in the mid part of their career to the veterans like Crosby no that's good.
01:18:57 It's just a great mix and it's really entertaining to watch every night. Yeah. So can you explain
01:19:02 to us maybe some people out there that are relatively new to hockey. What is goalie interference
01:19:06 and why is it so hard to call. Well OK. So I get a lot of questions about officiating
01:19:11 and everybody makes a big deal out of it. You know I was one of those players that I'd
01:19:18 give it to the ref. You know I was always polite. Never swore at them like what. I was
01:19:23 always engaged emotionally. So I was very opinionated about certain calls. But the one
01:19:28 thing that I realize now is that one night I'll be sitting there watching and there'll
01:19:32 be a call and I'll be I'll sound off on a man like that's goaltender interference. And
01:19:36 then you know I'll do it. I noticed as a trend it's like every night I'm doing it. And it's
01:19:41 like we forget that like there's humans out there making these calls like it's not like
01:19:46 it's not automatic. And by the way it's so easy when you're watching the game to pick
01:19:52 it out like most of the time now what I'm watching I'm like man it's a tough job being
01:19:57 a referee in the National Hockey League in any sport. I'm watching the NBA NFL like we're
01:20:02 really really tough on the officials. And I think that because we have so many cameras
01:20:06 now we have social media we can replay we can break down slow things down. It just gets
01:20:12 more and more so. I try to pick my spots. I think if something's egregiously obvious
01:20:17 I call it out. But most of the time it balances itself out like what some games you're going
01:20:22 to get your power plays some games you're not those games that you're not getting it.
01:20:26 You got to work a little bit harder. But the reality is is that like we all know his players.
01:20:31 I'll give you an example. Vancouver and Edmonton the other night. I know we're talking both
01:20:34 under interference but Vancouver Edmonton I'm watching the game and I see Zidora right
01:20:39 going to the corner and let go of the stick to kind of let the player through so he doesn't
01:20:44 have to be as he moves his arm up. He grazes him in the head guy snaps his head back gets
01:20:49 a penalty Dakota Joshua same thing high stick in front of the net right accidental kind
01:20:54 of comes up boom. But here's what I'm saying. It's like OK those are soft calls. I don't
01:20:59 want to see those called but you got to know this in the fucking playoffs. Yeah you got
01:21:03 to have your stick down on the ice. You bring your stick up around anybody's head or shoulders.
01:21:08 You're at risk to get called in a game six or seven. I wouldn't even be taking that risk.
01:21:14 Don't make it a judgment call for the rest. And I think that sometimes the players got
01:21:18 to be smarter about how they play. And it's not always about going into the corner like
01:21:22 a bat out of hell trying to get the puck. Sometimes you got to be smart and be efficient.
01:21:27 Read the clock understand the timing of the game and don't put yourself in that position
01:21:31 because the rest got to make calls to you know so. But goaltender interference. Here's
01:21:36 what I say. I watched Conor McDavid last night. He cuts back and he kind of goes in behind
01:21:41 the defenseman to try to screen. If you're a player going to the net you cannot slide
01:21:47 in behind the defenseman. It's one of the dumbest things to do as a forward because
01:21:50 all the pressure is going to do is back up because he's entitled to that ice. He's going
01:21:54 to back up. You're going to hit the goaltender and anything that happens after that. Now
01:21:58 it's a 50 50. Yeah. Now you don't know like now. So you got to stay above the blue paint.
01:22:04 If you're a player and stay out of the crease. Yeah. Do not get in the crease. Once you're
01:22:09 in the crease whether you're pushed in. Doesn't matter. It's a judgment call for the rep.
01:22:14 And then I'm not going to argue with the rep whether he thinks it's goaltender interference
01:22:17 or not. You go to the net. You got to go to the net hard. You got to be responsible for
01:22:20 your body. And guys are so smart. They're so good at selling calls and you know selling
01:22:26 when somebody hits them. It's just a difficult time to be a referee. So you know it's a gray
01:22:31 line but I always say you can't touch the goaltenders. We have some of the best goaltenders
01:22:36 in the league. They got to be able to make the same. And it also I mean playoff hockey
01:22:39 is great because you do feel like to win a Stanley Cup and to advance in all these rounds
01:22:45 you have to get a certain amount of like the dirty goals the goals that are like you know
01:22:50 deflections and guys in traffic in front and just you know lucky tip ins and all that stuff.
01:22:56 So it's so much fun to watch and then you do get those 50 50 calls. I some of the stuff
01:23:02 that we've seen so far in the playoffs I know you had a take on the Sam Bennett Brad Marchand
01:23:07 punch. You thought it was OK because Brad Marchand has done enough in his past to maybe
01:23:13 get one going his way. I mean I like I like all kinds of stuff in hockey like that. No
01:23:19 you're shaking your head. No it was OK. No. I wasn't OK. You misquoted me. I'm not shaking
01:23:24 my head. You I want to be clear on that. But I heard so many people speak out on this and
01:23:30 say oh my God he gets a scumbag. He said that Brad Marchand deserved it. You know what I
01:23:35 say to those people. Like even if that was my intent so be it. I don't care about what
01:23:40 any of you think anyway. I wish I was still playing so I could go up against the Bruins
01:23:45 and run hell at TD Garden and all through Boston. But I'm not playing anymore. So I
01:23:50 got to call it real. Whether it's Brad Marchand whether it's Sam Bennett I'm calling it down
01:23:55 the middle in the way that I see it. I don't care. It has nothing to do with me playing
01:23:59 in Montreal. So people always want to tie me into that. And it's not that at all. So
01:24:05 what I said was yes. Yeah this is what I said. I said Brad Marchand has gotten over on hundreds
01:24:13 maybe thousands of players over his career. I've won a gold medal with Brad Marchand at
01:24:18 the World Juniors. And by the way like I would say to sit next to Brad because A I know him
01:24:25 personally. Love the guy. B I respect his game even though that we've gone head to head
01:24:30 a million times. So anything I would ever say I would say to his face Brad knows this.
01:24:35 And this is why I was so proud of him in the interview that he did because that's part
01:24:40 of the game. Yeah. Like you got to toe the line. And Sam Bennett in playoffs like Brad
01:24:46 said dude 100 percent you're trying to listen to me. You think that some of go look at some
01:24:51 of the highlights of my hits. You think I'm just trying to separate the man from the puck.
01:24:56 Absolutely not. I'm trying to make sure that he doesn't come down my side for the rest
01:25:00 of the series. Well you got to inflict pain to do that. And when you do that somebody
01:25:04 may get hurt. And here's the thing that I'm going to say. Playoff hockey at the end of
01:25:10 the day it's one moment you're here. The next moment you might be golfing. Guys are playing
01:25:15 to put food on the tables money in their pockets feed their families and more importantly live
01:25:20 out their dream of hoisting the Stanley Cup which by the way 700 plus guys dream dreamt
01:25:25 about that their whole lives to start the season. And it's going to come down to 25
01:25:30 guys that are going to you know fulfill that dream at the end of the season. So if you
01:25:34 think that guys are going to go out there and tiptoe around each other and aren't going
01:25:38 to look to take a shot at a dude if he's exposing he's a star player you're nuts. You're absolutely
01:25:43 nuts. And I don't want that out of the game by the way. I agree. No you're telling me
01:25:48 that I've never been shot before. You're telling me that Lukey Marshawn Tara boy
01:25:55 Jack Barrett Gregory Campbell John Thornton McQuaid you don't think that any of those
01:26:01 guys Chris Kelly you know when I was 19 or 20. That's what I love him for. That's a part
01:26:08 of the game. Yeah. Some days you're the dog some days you're the hybrid right. So you
01:26:14 got it. You got so fired up there PK. I think your headphones I think your headphones wait
01:26:18 wait talk again. Can you hear me now. Yeah you sound like you went underwater for a second
01:26:24 you got so fired up I liked it so much. Can you still hear me. It still sounds like you're
01:26:29 underwater. Oh my God. That was a great speech. All right. That's better. No but honestly
01:26:36 I like it. Keep going. Because because because I get really upset about it because people
01:26:43 try to take hockey and make it into something that it's not and it's never going to happen.
01:26:48 Like I'm telling you right now they have to take me off off the TV screen because I'm
01:26:52 never going to change my opinion. And it's because I know the players right. What the
01:26:57 players want. We want that element of it. Like I don't I don't care. When I watched
01:27:02 Don Cherry's highlight tapes my whole life. That's what I grew up watching by the way
01:27:06 I watched more of Don Cherry Rockham Sockham tapes and I probably did of NHL hockey games
01:27:11 growing up because all I wanted to do was play in the playoffs and have blood coming
01:27:16 down my head and raising a Stanley Cup and stitches and the bruise. Like that's what
01:27:20 you dreamt about. So for the average fan that sits and watches it that loves to put on the
01:27:26 sweater because they're from Dorchester or they're from Toronto or they're from New York
01:27:31 and they're from Staten Island and they're a fan of their team. That's great and all.
01:27:35 But these players they're the warriors that go out and do the job. They're the guys that
01:27:39 actually go out and take the hits and block the shots and get the stitches and lose the
01:27:44 teeth and get the concussions and the broken bones and deal with the pain and the aches
01:27:49 that they have to deal with for the rest of their lives. Right. And everybody else has
01:27:52 to do that in pro sports but they're not playing hockey. They're not playing on a frozen piece
01:27:58 of ice in a cage basically you know going at 40 miles an hour getting hit with frozen
01:28:03 pucks and high sticks and losing teeth. So the players want that because we're playing
01:28:08 for the glory of it. Yeah. That's why it's Lord Stanley. The glory of winning a championship
01:28:13 and being successful and having success in the playoffs is paying a toll and a price
01:28:19 and everybody wants to pay that price. Don't take that away from the players. You're taking
01:28:24 that away by trying to point out well this guy's a dog. Yeah of course he's a dog. They're
01:28:29 trying to get over on each other. They're trying to win. They're trying to. The best
01:28:33 part about that series was watching Sam Bennett and Brad Marchand shake hands. I mean it's
01:28:39 an F you to all those fans out there that try to take that component out of the game.
01:28:45 Yes. If you get caught doing it we got to talk about it. You get suspended you get in
01:28:50 fine. But if you don't we still got to celebrate it because that's those are elements of the
01:28:55 game that impact who wins and who doesn't. And I think it's important to have. It's always
01:29:00 been a part of hockey. It should always be a part of it. I'm happy I brought it up because
01:29:03 that fired me up. Yeah. Fire me the fuck up. You're talking about people trying to get
01:29:07 things out of the game what they're doing. You can watch the slow mo replays and you
01:29:11 can take it frame by frame and then you judge somebody's intent and what they're trying
01:29:15 to do based on this frame as opposed to what happened one millisecond before that. And
01:29:20 the games played on ice. You've got fucking razor blades on your shoes and like you said
01:29:25 you're going 40 miles an hour at somebody. Sometimes they try to legislate it by like
01:29:29 the smallest minor detail that they see on instant replay which I don't think that's
01:29:34 how that's not how any sport should be done. No. And by the way like it doesn't have to
01:29:39 be guys listen Stanley Cup final I'm playing out my dream. We're in Pittsburgh. Game 1
01:29:46 Crosby I would national. I score the first goal of the Stanley Cup final. It gets called
01:29:52 back on Philip Forsberg's alleged toe being off the ice and the goal gets called back.
01:29:59 They take away the event. The Pittsburgh scores three. We come back tie the game but we end
01:30:03 up losing right. We end up losing series. We had two goals called back. I'm never going
01:30:08 to complain about the officiating in any of those. It's never going to happen because
01:30:13 that's a part of the game. I'm sure there were other games through that stretch of hockey
01:30:17 during that last where we got some favorable calls. It's just the way it is. Yeah. So you
01:30:22 know I'm not going to sit and debate it every night with fans that want to try to take certain
01:30:27 things out of the game. This is hockey. I'm going to tell people again if you don't like
01:30:32 it go play pickleball go play volleyball go pick go ahead go play golf. This isn't the
01:30:38 sport for you. This is this is for people that love the fact that guys go out and put
01:30:43 their body on the line every night. They understand what's at stake when they take the ice especially
01:30:48 in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Yeah. Yeah. So how bad does it suck to block a shot in the
01:30:51 playoffs. Horrible. So worst thing ever. I never ever want to tell people that it's great.
01:30:57 It's not. It's not a fun part. That's why I have so much respect for players that do
01:31:02 it. And there's some guys who have to do it more than others. But everybody in the playoffs
01:31:07 has to block shots and anybody that tells you it's fun. There's nothing fun about it.
01:31:11 And I have respect for guys because when I played I was pretty much shooting pucks over
01:31:16 100 miles an hour every time I was shooting those one timers. And there were some guys
01:31:20 that never blinked to get in the way. And you know I've seen shattered hands tibias
01:31:24 fibulas shattered ankles everything you know. And it's just once again it's the price that
01:31:31 you pay to play. So to get an opinion from people on the outside that have never blocked
01:31:36 a shot try to tell people what should be going on on the ice. It's just I don't want to hear
01:31:41 it. All right. So in the east we talked a little bit about the Panthers Panthers Rangers
01:31:46 though. Who do you have winning this series. And I mean the Rangers like it felt like they
01:31:51 were headed towards an all time collapse with that game game six against the Hurricanes
01:31:57 and being having to go to a game seven like oh my God they're up 3 0 and maybe a game
01:32:00 seven Panthers look really really good. Who do you have winning and why.
01:32:07 So I'm going to pick the Rangers and I'm going to tell you why I have to get into this explanation
01:32:14 because it's detailed and it's very very important because it lines up the perspective of the
01:32:19 series of things to look for. I watched the game earlier this year. I was away on vacation
01:32:25 and was between Florida and the Rangers and Barkov I think was missing from that game.
01:32:30 I think Florida had Barkov missing maybe forcing was missing. The game ended up going into
01:32:35 overtime. Rangers ended up winning an overtime or shootout. And I watched that game. And
01:32:41 after the game the first thing that I said was you know Florida Panthers were the better
01:32:46 team. Like I thought they were the better team. They control play. They shrunk the ice
01:32:51 and the Rangers are going to have to be a whole lot tougher if they see Florida in the
01:32:55 playoffs. And I'm sitting here now watching a Rangers team that has battled through adversity
01:33:02 that has shown that their power play and special teams can get the job done. They've also shown
01:33:08 that our Tami Panarin is hungry for the moment not looking to shy away from it. Mika Zabinajad
01:33:15 has shown up when they've needed him to show up. He doesn't need to be Mika Zabinajad of
01:33:20 when he was 23 24 and dancing around the ice every shift but he's got to be there to facilitate
01:33:25 which he's got. They've gotten secondary scoring Barkley Goodrell that's up their defense.
01:33:31 This is where I want to talk about it. The Rangers have a deep bearing of Lingren and
01:33:36 Fox that has done very very well. It'll be interesting to see what they do with their
01:33:41 back end because this series is going to be just as much about matchups as any other. I
01:33:47 don't think the Carolina series and the Washington series was as important for the Rangers and
01:33:54 for Florida to match up. Probably more important for the Rangers than Florida. Florida just
01:33:58 kind of plays the same style but for the Rangers matchups are going to be key because if you
01:34:04 got Barkov and Matthew could chuck on a different line. I know Peter Laviolet likes to have
01:34:09 Lingren and Fox against the smaller speedier guys. That's what they did in Carolina. They
01:34:13 had Gensel and Jarvis against right. They had Lingren and Fox matched up against those
01:34:17 guys. So now he may have to change that up and once you start changing up those matchups
01:34:22 it's all matchups now. And I think that that's going to be the game within the game. I think
01:34:28 that home ice is going to matter who gets the last change at different moments. But
01:34:32 make no doubt about it to simplify it. This series is going to be played in the corners
01:34:38 and in front of the net. The Florida Panthers are going to take what rank the Rangers have
01:34:43 been playing on for the past two rounds. It probably feels like an Olympic size right.
01:34:47 And they're going to shrink it to like a backyard ring and they're going to make it feel that
01:34:51 way. And that's what Florida does. And if they do that to the Rangers and they're able
01:34:55 to do that for an extended period of time the Rangers will be in trouble. But if the
01:35:00 Rangers can play their game move pucks break out clean attack to the neutral zone draw
01:35:06 penalties play that wide open style that we've seen them play and they can grind it out.
01:35:11 But they're at their best when they're when they're attacking and their transition game
01:35:15 is quick and they three quarter ice the shit out of you. You know on the ice every turnover
01:35:19 is back up. They don't dust it off. They're not going to D to D. It's right back up to
01:35:23 the boards and they're right back at you. If they play that game they will have a ton
01:35:27 of success. And I hope they do. I'm I'm pulling for the Rangers. I'm 93 30 years. I want to
01:35:35 see it happen. This team's played good hockey all year. I've watched them closely. I want
01:35:39 to see them do it. But the Florida Panthers they're going to look to get that game going
01:35:43 and if they do the Rangers could be in trouble. So what do the Panthers have to do exactly
01:35:47 to counteract what love you. Let's going to be doing with the Rangers. How do how do they
01:35:51 counteract his chess move. Well Florida is going to play their game. So the same game
01:35:57 that you saw them play against Florida and I sorry against now Florida Boston the same
01:36:03 game that you saw them play in the first two rounds they're going to be playing that same
01:36:06 game against the Rangers. But there's going to be an emphasis on being physical on the
01:36:12 Rangers defense because this is where I think it's going to be tough for the Rangers. Carolina
01:36:18 in my opinion didn't have enough skill up front to put the puck in the right places
01:36:23 and make enough plays in tight to put enough duress on the Rangers. They had spurts of
01:36:28 it but they couldn't sustain it. You need to sustain it and have that timely pressure
01:36:34 like Boston Boston structure gave Florida a little bit more trouble but Florida Florida
01:36:40 didn't see their best game in that series. They were still like up and down teetering.
01:36:45 You're going to see the best Florida Panthers in this conference final. And you know if
01:36:49 you're the New York Rangers I don't think you're going to expect you know seeing getting
01:36:53 goals scored you know from the goal line and behind the goal line on the broadcast. I don't
01:36:58 see I don't see that happening too often if at all. So they're going to have to earn everything
01:37:04 they get. And you know but for the Rangers a big key is going to be attacking Florida's
01:37:08 defense. I mean Nicola has got to step up and play. This is a guy that played for them.
01:37:13 They know him well. They have to continue to attack him. Kulakov and Florida's defense.
01:37:18 You've got to make it difficult on those guys because they're not as skilled as the Rangers
01:37:22 players. They're not. So you've got to make it difficult on them. You've got to grind
01:37:27 to wear them down. But I think that the Florida Panthers to have success against the Rangers
01:37:33 they're going to have to shrink that ice which means a solid four check after he's got to
01:37:37 be above. They can't be giving up on bad rushes and their D got to be active. We saw what
01:37:42 happened when Carolina's D got active against the Rangers. It gave them trouble. So once
01:37:47 Brady Shea and Orlov started getting involved in the tack it gave them trouble. But it also
01:37:51 opened up room for New York Rangers transition game. So I think for Florida it's just playing
01:37:57 that frustrating airtight solid game. I listen to Barkov's interview that he had actually
01:38:04 just last yesterday. I think it was yesterday or today and he had said that you know for
01:38:08 them they want to think about defense first like they think defense first. They're not
01:38:13 even thinking about offense. It's defense first. And I think he's going to be the key.
01:38:17 If the Rangers can somewhat keep that guy at bay Barkov like he's a problem to handle
01:38:25 he's going to be very very difficult for them to handle. So they're going to have to keep
01:38:28 him at bay. Let me turn the light on. Yeah I'm pumped up for to watch more playoff hockey
01:38:35 with PK. Yeah. He does a great job of pumping you up. I'm also excited. Let's go. Yeah I'm
01:38:41 right. I'm right. I've been waiting all year. All right. So I got a couple of other questions
01:38:46 that maybe aren't going to pump us up. So true or false used to save all your farts
01:38:53 to use them on ice as a competitive advantage. I think I remember I think I remember quoting
01:39:02 that. That's not true. Have I probably dropped a few bombs on me. I mean maybe. I mean listen
01:39:09 back. We go back to the days when I was eating chicken farm. You know I don't need dairy
01:39:14 anymore. So I'm sure there was a couple nights where that dairy was wasn't you know it wasn't
01:39:20 working too well with my system if you know what I mean. OK. Yeah. Can you explain to
01:39:24 me the chicken farm thing. I love how much hockey players love chicken parm. Why is chicken
01:39:28 parm the dish that hockey players eat. Listen I'm a little bit jealous that guys get to
01:39:35 eat chicken farm like all the time. I never got to do that. I had to like like guys I
01:39:40 put on weight so easily during the regular season like it didn't matter how many minutes
01:39:45 I was playing like at my peak when I was burning like 3000 calories a game. I still had to
01:39:50 be on like a program like I could put so my pregame meal became super super tight as my
01:39:57 career came on. It was like sweet potato. It was like veggies. It was like chicken.
01:40:03 But ninety nine percent of the players they walk in a pregame meal. They got a crazy call
01:40:08 like cost like the biggest plate of pasta that you could imagine like two chicken breasts
01:40:14 crazy sauce cheese. And I'm sitting there eating like a rabbit. And like it's crazy.
01:40:19 I get super jealous because I'm like the food looks so good but I never get to eat it. So
01:40:25 when I started my career I was eating everything and it's just that's just what it is. Yeah
01:40:30 I love it. I love it. So you would drop bombs at the beginning of your career to get a competitor.
01:40:36 I'm sure there was a few. I'm sure I kicked out a few. All right. So my other question
01:40:41 was your name is Pernell. Why did you never go by Pernell. It's fucking awesome name.
01:40:48 Like was there ever a moment where you're like maybe I'll switch because Pernell is
01:40:52 like that's a unique cool name. So I'll tell you where Pernell comes from. It comes from
01:40:58 Pernell Whitaker who was a championship boxer. So my parents named me after him and Carl's
01:41:05 my father's name. So that's where we get PK from. But you know I was called Pernell until
01:41:11 like like till like kindergarten like grade two and then like it just switched to PK.
01:41:17 I don't know why it switched to PK whether I did it or my parents did it but it just
01:41:22 ended up getting switched to PK and that sort of stuck. I like PK because I don't know how
01:41:27 many PKs have you met. Yeah true. And penalty kill penalty kill. Yeah. Principles kid my
01:41:34 dad's you know principles kid. I got a few other nicknames for it but I don't know if
01:41:38 I could say it on the air. What is going back to Oilers and how good their penalty their
01:41:45 power play is as a defenseman. What is the key to stopping a power play that is that
01:41:51 good and like what are you what are you guys talking about before the series or before
01:41:56 a game being like this is what we have to do otherwise we're toast. We'll stay out of
01:42:00 the box like with Edmonton. You just got to stay out of the box. Some teams you just can't
01:42:06 like you can kill off one penalty. Let's just say one power play is a stupid one that you
01:42:12 have to kill off for the game. You'll kill that one off. You'll find a way to kill it
01:42:16 off. You know maybe they don't get in the zone for a minute. They get in. You get lucky
01:42:20 you get a couple blocks a couple clears. But David's tired. He gets off the ice. You're
01:42:25 good. But when you start giving them extra two or three power you just can't. So the
01:42:29 number one way to avoid having to deal with a power play is staying out of the box. So
01:42:34 and that's why people are so critical of the officiating because there's so many good power
01:42:39 plays like Edmonton. It's almost a guarantee that they're going to score or get a grade
01:42:45 A scoring chance where your heart's like you know what I mean in your mouth. So you want
01:42:49 to stay out of the box. But as a defenseman. Oh my God. I watched the way Vancouver killed
01:42:54 penalties. I loved it. They you know they they had that net front D hold as long as
01:43:00 he could in front of the net because it's an outnumbered situation. When you're against
01:43:03 Edmonton they're going to continue to put you in outnumbered situations around the net
01:43:09 as many different ways and as many times as they can for two minutes. That's what they
01:43:13 do. So you're constantly playing two on ones all over the ice. And because McDavid such
01:43:20 a good skater he can create that two on one anywhere he wants. So really it just comes
01:43:25 down to whether they're clicking or not against Edmonton. But for the defenseman it's stay
01:43:30 loose. Just don't get tied up. Try to anticipate some plays and get stay on your toes. But
01:43:36 you've got to take away the low ice. I would say this if they're going to beat you don't
01:43:40 let them beat you at backdoor tap ins and easy tap ins around the net. Let them beat
01:43:44 you from a bullsharp one shot or something from outside. You know like let them let it
01:43:50 have to go off two legs and into the net. You'll take that but you can't have the backdoor
01:43:55 tap ins to dry side and stuff. Yeah. It does feel like when you watch their power play
01:43:59 that is what they're doing is they slowly shrink it shrink it shrink it and then all
01:44:03 of a sudden it's like oh on the far side they have a two on one and there's going to be
01:44:06 easy goal. It's just like what slowly happens where there's nothing you can do. Passing
01:44:11 it around perfectly. Well it comes down to this. How do you contain
01:44:16 Conor McDavid. You can't. When he takes that puck and skates up top around the box all
01:44:24 he's doing is shifting players. So there's great areas in the zone that aren't covered
01:44:30 that can't be covered by the four guys that are out there. He skates up top and skates
01:44:35 into those zones and he puts you in a bind where you've got to make a decision. You've
01:44:39 got to take something away. And when you do he's finding the open option. That's why he
01:44:44 gets paid 14 million bucks a year. Twelve million at 30 because he does that continuously
01:44:49 every single night. Yeah. How do you know you flip the calendar to June. Oh yeah. Pretty
01:44:56 good. Hit him his driver. He's like go on bud. It's time to hit the course. We're just
01:45:00 going to run with this error because it is fun. You have to admit it's a fun narrative.
01:45:04 You do it with a sport like a rod. You can't win the big one. You have great narrative.
01:45:10 You have to do is you have to find them. Be the best player at an impossible sport to
01:45:14 play and then figure out a reason to say actually they're not good. Yeah they can't win the
01:45:17 big one. Yeah. You know I can't take myself there because I know how good he is. Yeah.
01:45:24 Yeah. Well as I know he's that good. But is he. It's OK. Can't win the big one. So buddy
01:45:30 nobody can win the big one like he does. People are saying he had an off year this year where
01:45:36 he was like hurt banged up like off here. How many points did he have. How many is this
01:45:41 100. How many cops. Oh geez. We're talking. We're talking rings. Yeah. OK. Well done.
01:45:49 Let's. If you guys want to talk cops then what we should do is I should come back on.
01:45:55 We should. We should look at Connor McDavid. How many years has he played. Eight nine years
01:45:59 in the league. OK. Let's look at the eight nine years. Let's look at the teams he's played
01:46:03 on and then we'll have a discussion on roster acquisitions trades. OK. Draft. Let's go. Let's
01:46:11 have a go. I know I know. PK PK we could do the whole thing right now. You ready. Here
01:46:15 we go. All right. Has Conrad David won the big one. I think we know. OK. So there is
01:46:24 a discussion. You can throw whatever advance analytics draft metrics you can throw anything
01:46:31 at it. It sucks because I love Conrad David like I why I when he came in and played against
01:46:36 the Blackhawks this year I was like I have to go to this game and I like watching him
01:46:40 play hockey is an out of body experience. He looks so much faster than everyone else
01:46:46 on the ice. But again we have to as our job say he can't win the big one. They said that
01:46:51 about Messi too you know and then Messi proved us all wrong and he won the big one. I won
01:46:54 the big one. Before I say that I would before I say that I would probably go through with
01:47:00 a fine tooth comb of management decisions in his tenure there. Yeah. And I would look
01:47:06 at the teams that were built around. Yeah. Again that would cause you have that much
01:47:10 talent. I'm going to tell you there were missed opportunities. Yeah. I could say that. I don't
01:47:15 have to go into the details of it. I can tell you this though. There are missed opportunities
01:47:19 with teams to go and acquire certain players drafting all of that drafting is the biggest
01:47:25 one. That's why I give Jim Neal his props because that guy went out and drafted properly.
01:47:30 He did his research. His scouts did their research. They drafted well and now it's paying
01:47:34 off dividends whether they win the cup or not. People notice how deep their team is.
01:47:39 They have tremendous depth because of drafting. So have the Edmonton Oilers drafted well when
01:47:44 they drafted Conrad David they drafted Nugent Hopkins. They drafted Darnell Nurse. They
01:47:49 drafted Bouchard. They drafted some really good players but there's a lot of other players
01:47:53 that didn't work out that they drafted as well. There's free agent signings that didn't
01:47:58 work out like that affects your team. You can't mess up in the draft. I'm going to do
01:48:02 that. I'm actually I'm looking at their draft history right now. Turns out they drafted
01:48:06 Conrad David who can't win the big one. That was the biggest mistake. That was the biggest
01:48:10 mistake. Which side you know what. I'm going to win the big one. Conrad's listening. Conrad's
01:48:15 listening. Just collect your checks. Fill your bank account. Your cup will come. Yeah.
01:48:19 If it doesn't we were right. I mean no no no. Even if he does win then we say we were
01:48:26 right. Yeah. Couldn't win the big one until he won the big one. And now he's a guy that
01:48:29 can win the big one. It's very. Who's your guy. Who are your guys in hockey. I want to
01:48:34 know who your guys are. I mean it's not Conrad David. Who's your guy. I am a Conrad David
01:48:39 fan. I'm a Blackhawks fan. I'm a Conrad Bredard fan who. Guess what. Conrad Bredard can't
01:48:44 win the big one. I'm a Capitals fan. I'll be honest. It turns out Alexander Vetchkin
01:48:49 he can win the big one. That's what I've always said about. That's what everyone said about
01:48:52 him. Well let's talk about that for a second. Yeah. Like like OK. I don't think David is
01:48:58 in this like are he and Ovechkin in the same boat in terms of they can't win the big. I
01:49:03 like no I don't know. He's only one that we got you all the way. Well hold on. We got
01:49:08 you all the way into the big one. I think Alex Ovechkin has played on much better teams
01:49:13 throughout his career than Conrad David has. I will say that. Yeah. He played he played
01:49:18 on a team that won the big one. Listen I I love like my guys Patrick and Jonathan Tate.
01:49:23 They won a big one right away. I think I think one multiple big one. I think PK is about
01:49:27 to fight us through this television screen. Well he just realizes we really did. We got
01:49:32 we basically were like want to go buddy. You're like I'm not allowed to go. And then we got
01:49:35 you to go. The comparison to Patrick comparing Conrad David to Patrick Mahomes doing that.
01:49:41 That was insane. Right. Because Patrick Holmes could win the big one. You're right. Well
01:49:45 yeah. Crazy. You have me in a bind with that. You knew you were going to have my balls in
01:49:48 a fight. That's why you guys took me. Yeah. All right. So who is going to win the big
01:49:52 one this year. Who do you have. Well I had Vegas winning it all. I had Vegas winning
01:49:57 it all. Same. I took a risk. I know I could have went with somebody out of the east and
01:50:02 my pick probably would have lasted a little bit longer but I went with Vegas because I
01:50:07 just felt that like on paper to have that many players that depth like I'm going to
01:50:12 take a chance that they're going to figure it out. They just did. They just they have
01:50:16 nine guys who had to get offseason surgery. They just weren't able to get their game going
01:50:20 and get 200 percent. So which happens. They'll be back. But now looking at it. Dude it's
01:50:28 difficult to not pick the Dallas Stars. Like how do you not pick that. Like what would
01:50:33 be a reason for not picking Dallas. Like when you look at their team and especially
01:50:38 the way they're playing from the coaching Pete the board to the stars up front they
01:50:42 have scoring depth up front. They have veteran presence. They have sandpaper. They have youth
01:50:46 they have speed. They have defense. They got sandpaper paper on their back and that Lundell
01:50:51 and Canada. You want to see those guys in the corner. Good luck. I don't. Jake Gottenger
01:50:56 if he plays out of his mind or plays 80 percent of what he's capable of the Dallas Stars are
01:51:00 going to be in every game and have a chance to win. So really it's going to be about how
01:51:05 are the Dallas Stars if they make it to the Stanley Cup final going to match up against
01:51:10 any team coming out of the East. And that's the question you have to look for. Yeah. You
01:51:14 know I don't know man. It's hard to pick. It would be easy to pick a Dallas but I think
01:51:22 the winner could be coming out of the East this year. That's what I think.
01:51:25 All right. All right. So I have one last question for you. It has been awesome. We'd love to
01:51:29 have you back anytime. It's a rowback question. RHOBCK dot com promo code take 20 percent

01:51:39 take without giving anything away because it hasn't been released yet. How was your
01:51:44 walk with Frank because Frank is our guy. He's a legend. I heard there's maybe some
01:51:49 old tweets that were brought up because obviously Frank's diehard season ticket holder for the
01:51:53 Devils. How to go from your perspective though.
01:51:57 First of all God bless Frank. He's the best. You know for people that are fans of his that
01:52:03 listen to him watch him follow him on Instagram. This guy in person is is a hundred times better
01:52:10 than whatever you would think. He's just salt to the earth just a great guy. Passionate
01:52:15 guy about sports. I was a little bit disappointed with Frank when I first got there because
01:52:19 he was so nice and so polite. I'm like Frank I didn't come on this walk for you to like
01:52:25 you know what I mean. Treat me nicely here like keep it real. And then he kept it real.
01:52:29 We got into some of the tweets but it was a fantastic. It was a fantastic day and I
01:52:34 think it's great. I think it's awesome what he's doing. Yeah it is. Really do. I love
01:52:39 what he's doing and I just hope that I get invited on another walk. But I think people
01:52:43 will love it. We got into some hockey stuff. We talked Devils a little bit. We spoke about
01:52:48 the greatest goaltender of all time. You know it's funny when you start throwing out sports
01:52:53 stuff though. Oh yeah. When I start throwing questions his way he now all of a sudden Frank
01:52:57 the Tank comes out and we had a lot of fun. So look out for that one. It was a good one.
01:53:02 That's awesome. All right. Get him on skates next time. Yeah. Out on the ice. Yeah. Let's
01:53:06 do that. But yeah. And we got to do this more boys. Yes. I got to get back on here. Let's
01:53:10 go. Yeah. Come come out Chicago. We'll show you. We'll show you what a real sport looks
01:53:15 like. We got a full basketball court here. We got lacrosse. Well listen if I come out
01:53:19 to Chicago it's been a while too. We got to hit it. We got to step out on the night on
01:53:23 the town for a night too and maybe a couple of barley sandwiches. I'm a tequila guy so
01:53:28 don't always hit the dealer. Yeah we got to do it. I'm not playing now. Yeah. I get you
01:53:34 some more going. Yeah yeah. Let's do it. But yeah there's been awesome. We'd love to have
01:53:37 you back on and you got us fired up about hockey and thanks so much. P.K. Appreciate
01:53:42 it man. No problem. And cheers to Connor McDavid winning the big one. There we go. We'll be
01:53:48 we'll have you on when he does which will be never. Thanks. All right. Thanks man.

01:54:31 O'Connell. OK we now welcome on one of our favorite guests in the entire world one of
01:54:37 our best friends. But it's under tough circumstances because the man in front of us right now Jerry
01:54:44 O'Connell the legend Jerry O'Connell. I don't think anyone has ever talked more shit before
01:54:51 a game seven about the next series than JLC did today to Hank. So we had to have him on
01:55:00 to maybe explain what's going through his head as his Bing Bong Knicks get bounced from
01:55:04 the playoffs in seven by the Pacers. Yeah tough guys. It was you know they fought hard.
01:55:12 They made it to game seven. It's been an incredible season. So many injuries. It was a lot of
01:55:18 fun. What I have loved for it to be you know Mr. Bing Bong versus Hank. I mean yeah I think
01:55:24 everybody was rooting for that. I do got to thank all the A.W.L. I have never had so much
01:55:29 social media traction as I have had. I went to go you know I have a busy life. I got kids
01:55:36 I'm here at my kids volleyball practice. I got things to do. I have responsibilities
01:55:42 and I was washing my car and I was like I got him before this game. Just give it to
01:55:46 cocky Hank. And I couldn't believe how well it did. But I mean it was a good run. You
01:55:54 know the Celtics look they would have never beaten the Celtics. It was just fun to get
01:55:58 in Hank's face. You know it's so funny. I would have thought I would have thought getting
01:56:05 oh there's my first um I would have thought getting under Max's skin was the most fun.
01:56:12 But really I just I live I live to get under Hank's skin. He's just such a complicated
01:56:19 I'm not cursed there's teenage girls. He's just such a complicated fucking guy. I just
01:56:25 want to get on. I want to get in there. There he is. So you know what. Listen I know it's
01:56:30 the end of the next season and that's it. But before I say goodbye to Mr. Bing Bong
01:56:37 for the year is it OK if just a couple just for a little bit I bring Mr. Bing Bong back
01:56:43 yeah I think for the road just right. Yeah. Is it OK just for the end of the season. I
01:56:49 mean now that it's all over and you've got to watch the paces versus the Celtics sleepy
01:56:56 like Mr. Hank in the morning. Hey what's up Mr. Snooze. There he is. Let me get into character
01:57:06 more. I'm an actor so Mr. Bing Bong. Hank. Boston sucks. Real fans. Ruins. Flopped it
01:57:17 all. Toy boats. Toy boats. Red leather yellow leather. Here we go. And Hank give me an action.
01:57:26 Bing Bang. Hanky. Bing Bang. There he is. Mr. Stand up Mr. Comedy. I saw your stand
01:57:38 up. You killed it. Just like your boy Aaron Hernandez. Yeah. In a ditch. In a ditch. Hey
01:57:50 Mr. Hanky. Mr. Sleepy time. You there. Here. I'm right here. Wide awake. There you are.
01:57:57 There he is wide awake. Look at him. Hey you got a golf simulator there at the Bosco headquarters
01:58:05 a golf simulator. Yeah. And you use it. Sometimes. Yeah. Maybe you should have used the Tiffany
01:58:12 Gomez simulator. It's just a snooze bot. That one didn't make sense. It's good. It's good.
01:58:25 It doesn't have to make sense. Hey Mr. Hanky. I hear you're trying to slam dunk a basketball.
01:58:31 Bing Bong. I am. Yeah. You got less hops than a can of Coors Light. Bing Bong. Hanky. Bing
01:58:40 Bong. With the little blue mountain you know it's blue. So you don't have to touch it with
01:58:45 your delicate fingers. You can see your fingies. Yeah. Fingies and tootsies. Tiffany Gomez.
01:58:52 Show us your tootsies. She covers them up with an emoji. You gotta pay extra. Bing Bong.
01:58:59 Tiffany. The one that got away. Yeah. She got away. You could have been hog hunting with her.
01:59:08 A helicopter. Shooting those innocent hogs. Show us your tootsies Tiffany. Hey. Oh. Hey.
01:59:19 Uh. Hey Mr. Hanky. Uh. I heard your boy is regretting that he did the roast
01:59:25 because of what it did to his family. Yeah. You wouldn't know what it's like to have a family
01:59:31 because you blew your chance with Tiffany Gomez. Bing Bong. You could have had a family. A bunch
01:59:37 of little hog hunters. Little wild boar hunters. Wow. From a chopper. Impressive. Bing Bong.
01:59:44 Missing animal. Didn't do nothing. You know what I'm picking on. Maybe Mr. Bing Bong's picking on
01:59:51 Hanky a little too much here. Oh yeah. You guys didn't even beat the Pacers. You know. This would
01:59:55 have been fun. Uh. It would have been a fun series. Oh there he is. Cocky. There he is.
02:00:03 Let's see it. He's leaning back. He's looking cocky. Yeah. It's true. The Knicks stunk up MSG
02:00:10 today. That happened. They stunk it up just like Jakey is stinking up that control room all the
02:00:16 time with his farts. Bing Bong. Jakey what you doing? You eating legumes or what? Bing Bong.
02:00:22 Look at you. I mean I look at that threesome in there you think you know Max he's the one
02:00:28 who's shitting himself not you. Hi Jakey what's going on with your ass? You gotta fix that. Bing
02:00:34 Bong. Oh Mr. Bing Bong. Yeah. I'm gonna miss Mr. Bing Bong. Sadly. We'll have to bring him back.
02:00:45 Oh my I really I miss him already. Yeah the Knicks. You guys are never gonna see the Knicks
02:00:51 blow it in Dallas just like Hanky blew it with Tiffany. You blew it. You blew it.
02:00:58 Show us your tootsies. I got a I got a question. Um was were the arm weights when you were walking
02:01:07 your dog you were you were lifting like old geriatric like 80 year old woman arm weights.
02:01:13 Was that a Mr. Bing Bong's arm weights or was that Jerry O'Connell's arm weights?
02:01:18 No I don't do prop work. Those were those were my arm weights. I'll have you know.
02:01:23 Wait hold on a second. Serve it up Charlie. Serve it up. It's my daughter serving.
02:01:27 Um hit with a ball here. Uh they're actually leg weights I'll have you know. They are not
02:01:34 arm weights. They are leg weights that I put on my arms and it's uh it's to keep it like
02:01:38 boom tight. Look at that. Yeah those arms. Hey you know I'm not done with you Hanky.
02:01:45 I'm not finished with you. Where is he? Where is Hanky? Hanky are you there? Right here. Yeah the
02:01:51 Bruins. I'm sorry about them. They prematurely left the playoffs just like you were premature.
02:01:56 What's up with Gomez? I gotta keep an eye on those teenagers. Yeah.
02:02:01 Jerry what does Mr. Bing Bong have planned for for next year? You like this Knicks team?
02:02:09 You want to make any additions? What could change?
02:02:13 You know I should answer that. I'm gonna I'm gonna get out of character and get back to Jerry.
02:02:17 I still wish KD was here man. We needed that one. We needed that one player you know. It's
02:02:26 just crazy. So we'll see what happens in the offseason. It was a great season. It was injury
02:02:30 ridden. It was um it was a bummer but you know what I think as you saw in the game today everyone
02:02:36 was really proud. I was really bummed that Jalen Brunson didn't get um clapped off. Didn't get
02:02:41 like his proper applause. He had to uh had to go into the locker room. Hey Mr. Bing Bong's back.
02:02:48 Hold on a second. Um you know Jalen Brunson's hand is more fractured than Hank and Tiffany's
02:02:54 relationship. Yeah the Knicks pieces that was knock down drag out fight just like uh Scotty
02:03:06 Sheffler this weekend. Shout out to first responders. Give them the tickets.
02:03:13 Oh man. Have you had Jerry yeah have you had any moments my last question. I'll do it right now.
02:03:24 Rowback question. RHOBAC. RHOBAC. Who is that one spelled. It's a crazy spell.
02:03:34 Provo code take 20 percent off your first purchase. Was there ever a moment
02:03:38 in the last couple of weeks where Mr. Bing Bong kind of slipped out while you're with
02:03:43 your family and your family looked at you like what the fuck are you doing right now dude.
02:03:47 No but um no I just I gotta tell you I Mr. Bing Bong has woken up something inside of me. I just
02:03:59 I'm a different man. I just find myself like if someone tries to like like if you're merging onto
02:04:05 traffic and like that second car tries to merge I'm like oh what's going on here.
02:04:10 It's just I gotta tell you everybody needs a little Bing Bong. Yeah. In their lives. Everybody
02:04:19 and I just want to say you know I'm gonna put Mr. Bing Bong to sleep
02:04:24 and Hank maybe you should take another trip down to Dallas. Show your friend who Mr. Bing Bong is
02:04:32 so you can rekindle your relationship and patch things up. Let's see those toes Tiffany.
02:04:38 I always think that Mr. Bing Bong might play better as as a loser like you're out but you're
02:04:45 still talking shit. Yeah. Yeah. I am a loser. What do you want. I'm like cowering in a corner of a
02:04:51 teenage girls volleyball gym. I'm gonna lie to my whole family. I have to change into my
02:04:57 Knicks jersey every time I come on your podcast. Go back into my my my a polo. I mean what do you
02:05:05 want. Yeah. Mr. Bing Bong is a loser. All right. Well Jerry we love Mr. Bing Bong has been a great
02:05:13 playoffs with you. Any last words for Hank or Max. No. Good luck in the postseason. Thank you. I mean
02:05:20 I guess we're all getting ready for tonight's game. I haven't even looked at the score. Have
02:05:23 they started playing yet. Yeah it's halftime. What's the score. Fifty three thirty eight nuggets.
02:05:30 Yeah. So I mean yeah look I mean I understand fan bases and all that stuff but look this is a
02:05:39 football podcast. Like now like let's get the great week. You know what I'm saying.
02:05:47 We get all of Hank's. Hot self fix. Let's hear those hot things. Thank you.
02:05:59 By the way Jerry we have not we have not planned great week yet but there's we've had some
02:06:06 preliminary planning. There's maybe a chance that you'll be on the RV with us for a little bit.
02:06:11 Maybe we'll be so much. That would be so much fun. And if you do come out to like
02:06:16 Oxnard or whatever to come see the Cowboys or the Rams practice out here in Thousand Oaks.
02:06:20 I know you guys are always looking for a place to watch hard knocks. Come over to my house.
02:06:25 Unless unless my wife was there and it's 90 day fiance night then we have to watch 90 day.
02:06:31 Sorry. But today it was really tough. We were watching Hacks which is a great show. It's
02:06:37 a really wonderful show streaming about a female comedian and a younger female comedian. And it's
02:06:44 very funny. So I got I got two quarters of the next game but I was watching my wife and it was
02:06:50 a really good game. I highly suggest that if you're looking for something to watch
02:06:53 with the family it's fun. A lot of fun strong females.
02:06:59 All right Jerry. We have to love you. We have to do hard knocks with you. Yeah we'll do hard
02:07:06 knocks. We'll do hard knocks. We'll build the whole trip around hard knocks with Jerry.
02:07:12 All right. One last time. One last time. Yeah. You know what I want to hear. Thank you. It feels
02:07:19 so good to say it. He's saying being. You feel the power. OK. I got to get out of here before
02:07:30 my kids disown me.

02:08:41 up. We have a I have a quick Monday reading for us. We should have talked about it came
02:08:47 late I believe Thursday night or maybe Friday. You know what I'll read it and you guys tell me who
02:08:54 wrote this. OK. Congratulations to Stephen Curry on winning his second P.B.W.A. Magic Johnson.
02:09:03 There it is. Magic Johnson award honoring a player who displays cooperation and grace in
02:09:08 dealing with the media and fans both on and off the court. By the way Steph Curry I had fun hanging
02:09:15 out with your mom last night at the Sparks home opener. Oh. Magic is like a test to see how he
02:09:23 handles the media dude. He's so like sweet and sincere. How can you say that part. I had fun
02:09:31 hanging out with your mom. That was like a Marlins man. Oh my God. Is mom still single. I believe so.
02:09:38 Magic had a lot of fun hanging out with her. By the way Steph Curry I had fun hanging out
02:09:44 with your mom last night at the Sparks home opener. Is there any person any public figure.
02:09:50 I'm going to be very delicate with how I say this. OK. Any public figure in America that you would
02:09:56 less like to see that tweet from the Magic Johnson about your mom. Nikki Smokes count as public.
02:10:03 I know public pubic. Yeah. Magic Johnson would be a tough one.
02:10:10 That'd be a really tough one. It's tough one. It'd be a tough one. Hmm. Hmm.
02:10:17 Yeah I think that's I think that's it. I think it's got to be magic. I also had I didn't even
02:10:22 read this article but we can just do a read a headline and just go off of it. The New York
02:10:27 Post posted something called the Gouda bad and ugly NYC law student addicted to cheese went to
02:10:35 nearly six thousand dollar per week rehab. Yeah that's good. That's good. Go to cheese rehab
02:10:41 cheese rehab. Yeah. What is it. What is cheese rehab. I don't know. Treadmill. Max have you
02:10:46 gotten your cheese by the way. I've not. OK. Oh Max speaking of cheese. Oh yeah. I have something
02:10:53 in here for a greater the greater or the slicer is a bad. Yeah. This bad boy is industrial strength
02:11:00 cheese and meat slicer. Is that is actually in here. Yes it's right there. Giant box right here.
02:11:06 I should come open it. You open it. Yeah. Open it up. By the way I do. Oh Max my ping pong ball.
02:11:11 I terrible shooting by me. We're done with that. No longer going to give up. This is last week.
02:11:16 Yeah this is the last week. I have a story I'm not sure if I should share it on the podcast. OK.
02:11:20 I guess give it a try. We'll take it for a spin. You guys ever sleepwalk. Yeah all time.
02:11:27 Thank you for sleepwalking. It's a weird since they talk. Yeah you do sleep talk. You sleep a lot.
02:11:34 Yeah. If Hanks walked into sleep you'd be in great shape. You sleep right now. No. OK. All right. So
02:11:40 Friday night. Imagine if it was like yeah. Friday night I stayed in a hotel. OK. I'm I'm in D.C.
02:11:47 right. And I go to bed at about I think 1230 1 a.m. a couple cocktails. I had a couple cocktails.
02:11:57 Nothing big. Nothing too serious. But I I wake up and I find myself in the hallway of my hotel.
02:12:04 Yeah. In my underwear and nothing but my underwear. And then I have to figure out
02:12:11 where I am what I'm doing there. Yeah. I go to my door. I obviously don't have my key on me
02:12:16 to get back in. So I have to walk down to the lobby. I'm on the first floor. I walk I poke my
02:12:24 head around the corner and I ask the people in the lobby. Hey I locked myself out of my room.
02:12:30 They're like no problem. They get the the whatever custodian or maybe sodium. Yeah.
02:12:36 Maintenance guy. They just make you a new key. Yeah. What are you talking about. No he's he
02:12:41 has a master key. OK. So he but they could have just given you another key. Well I did
02:12:45 saying in like a I did it in breakfast with old school keys. No it was like a master like the
02:12:51 the thing that he held up opened every door. The custodian key. Yeah. The master electronic. Yeah.
02:12:57 So he takes me back. And I the reason I didn't go to the front desk was because I'm in my underwear.
02:13:01 I didn't want to like be down at the front desk in my underwear. So I got it. The guy walks me
02:13:06 back lets me into my hotel room. I thank him I apologize. I go back to sleep. Two hours later
02:13:14 I wake up and I'm in the hallway again. Oh no. In my underwear. You got to lock yourself in. And
02:13:20 I'm locked. I'm locked out of my hotel room for the second time in about three hours. Yeah. And
02:13:25 I'm like what the hell is going on right now. I have to do the exact same thing and walk down
02:13:30 and be like hey I did it again. They get the janitor excuse me custodian and he walks me back
02:13:37 and he's like so a second time what's going on. I was like I honestly I have no idea. And then I got
02:13:42 back in and when I went back in the second time I latched the door. That's did the deadbolt. Yes.
02:13:47 That whole thing. Both times I think I was trying to find the bathroom because I had to go pee.
02:13:51 Ah and I just went out. I make sense. Front door of my hotel. Have you slept walk before.
02:13:56 Yeah but it's been years. Yeah. So I sleepwalk usually when I'm very over tired. I've done that
02:14:02 once. I lock the door every time I go to a hotel room for that exact reason. I'm gonna start doing
02:14:07 that. Yeah. You it's gotten better. It used to be like I would end up like you know like in
02:14:13 different parts of my house. Now it's more just like I I get up and I like kind of walk around
02:14:18 and like just mumble. Yeah. Wives like what are you doing. She said that I like will like talk
02:14:24 about like especially during football season when we don't sleep. Like I'll be talking about games
02:14:28 and stuff. But yeah it's a weird feeling. It might be from lack of sleep. I didn't sleep a lot on
02:14:33 Wednesday or Thursday night. Yeah. Always when I when I when I don't sleep I I I talk a lot and
02:14:38 then every now I I walk probably like once every couple of months. Yeah. The first time I woke up
02:14:43 in the hallway I was standing at my door looking at my door. And as you're fading back into
02:14:48 consciousness. Yeah. I'm trying to figure out what to do. I start knocking on my own hotel. Oh yeah.
02:14:53 I was like please let me in me. The it's good good that you you sound very similar to what I do in
02:15:00 that like I've never put myself in real harm's way because I know that that's a real thing. Yeah. Some
02:15:05 people will like be walking in like the street and shit. Yeah. I never really get past like the
02:15:11 first or second door. Yeah. I was in the hallway and immediately that's when I was like wait this
02:15:15 isn't right. That's fucking wild. This is two times I did twice. Yeah. It's crazy. The second time I
02:15:20 in there I was just like so freaked out the second time that you let me back in I'm like lock all
02:15:25 this shit up. Yeah. Don't let me do this again me. Yeah. I sometimes will put like stuff in front of
02:15:30 my if I know that I'm really overtired like especially on the road I'll put stuff like
02:15:34 booby trap my own door. Yeah. So like I'm gonna have to do that. Yeah. Because you know like oh
02:15:38 if I kick this bag it'll be like what the fuck. Yep. That's crazy though. Two times. Two times
02:15:44 shout out the custodian. The custodian janitor maintenance guy. I like custodian we got to bring
02:15:48 that word. Awesome guy. Max the cheese slicer. I was getting manhandled by this. Yeah. What is
02:15:56 going on here. Don't break it. Now you're just going to try to be a man about it and it's going
02:16:01 to go poorly. Max you're going to have to start slicing all our cheese now though. I'm going to
02:16:06 start bringing in blocks of cheese. This is pathetic. I like it. I like it really really thin Max.
02:16:11 This this thing is crazy. Look at this thing.
02:16:18 Let's go. Don't cut your finger off with that.
02:16:24 What's this cost? Don't worry about it. It was a spur of the moment purchase. It was a spur of
02:16:34 the moment purchase that I instantly regretted. Oh it's great. Shit. Yeah. Right here in the middle.
02:16:40 We're gonna we're gonna have you on Wednesday's show you're gonna have to cut some cheese for us.
02:16:45 Yeah and if Mr. Pear doesn't turn his shit around we got a guillotine. This is awesome Max. You got
02:16:53 to clean this dude. Oh this is great. Yeah. Fucking snap. Dude you can slice anything you want on that.
02:17:01 What about a bet? Someone sliced their fingers. That's what you should use for your pinky bet.
02:17:07 All right Max you're set to go. Big boy. Kind of a fat move to have your own cheese slicer.
02:17:16 What a fat ass. Yeah this fat ass has his cheese slice that we forced him to have.
02:17:27 We should just start buying Max like a moo moo. A life alert. Like Max. Damn dude.
