McDonald's just changed iconic Happy Meal menu and I got to taste test new items
Four new menu items are coming to Happy Meals as part of a McDonald's UK trial. And the team at the fast food chain invited us down to their Formby site - which incidentally is their biggest Drive-Thru restaurant in the UK - to sample the new menu ahead of its launch.

00:12 Now, clucky Happy Meal fans are in for a treat as a mayo chicken is coming to the Happy Meal.
00:17 However, I've had that before, so I went for the fish bites,
00:20 which are five bite-sized pollock pieces in a crisp panko breadcrumb coating.
00:25 They come with a choice of dip.
00:27 I did enjoy these.
00:28 I will say I am already a fan of the filet-o-fish,
00:31 but I think this is a really nice addition to the menu.
00:34 They now also have flavoured milk available in chocolate, banana and strawberry,
00:38 which is what I went for.
00:39 They're made with natural flavourings and no added sugar.
00:43 This was tasty.
00:43 It tasted just like their milkshake.
00:46 So if you're a fan of them, I'm sure you'll be a fan of these.
00:48 Now, it was a really warm day when I went along there,
00:52 and they have the McFreezy,
00:54 which is a frozen ice dessert made with fruit juice and puree,
00:57 available in either orange or mango and pineapple,
01:00 which is the flavour that I chose.
01:02 I did get a lot of pineapple flavour and not much mango,
01:05 but it was a really refreshing end to my meal.
01:08 And of course, it would not be a Happy Meal without the gift.
01:11 And how sweet is this?
01:12 They gave us a Grow Your Own Sunflower Kit for kids.
01:16 And I've got to say, it's been that long since I've had a Happy Meal.
01:19 It made me feel like a kid once again.
01:21 Now, these menu items are a trial that's happening exclusively in the North West.
01:27 And this regional trial will run from the 29th of May
01:30 and will last for 14 weeks ahead of a possible national launch next year.
