00:00 You live for the sake of contentment.
00:08 You are desperately looking around for contentment.
00:12 You don't get it here.
00:16 So you move to the next place.
00:17 You don't get it there.
00:18 You move to the next place.
00:19 You move to the next place.
00:20 You move to the next place.
00:21 And this continuous movement has created this infinite universe.
00:25 You get now why the universe is infinite?
00:29 Because your thirst is infinite.
00:34 Assume the universe were finite.
00:38 Were the universe finite?
00:42 How would you survive?
00:45 Let's say the universe had just space enough to contain only 10 objects.
00:53 We are assuming a finite universe with just enough space to hold 10 objects.
01:00 10 objects besides you.
01:03 You go to the first one.
01:05 What do you get?
01:06 Dissatisfaction.
01:07 You go to the second one.
01:11 Dissatisfaction.
01:12 And soon you find that you are testing the 10th one.
01:18 And what do you get here as well?
01:20 Dissatisfaction.
01:21 What will you do now?
01:22 How will you live?
01:24 You require an infinite number of objects just to survive in a psychic way.
01:31 In a psychic way.
01:32 So that you can console yourself that there is something else left to be tried.
01:41 Had the universe not been infinite, how would your hope have survived for so long?
01:51 For your false hope to survive, you will have to project an infinitely large and false universe.
02:05 Do you get this?
02:19 That's why the more your inner dissatisfaction grows, the more becomes the importance of
02:32 diverse objects in your life and vice versa.
02:37 Mind you, the more the prevalence and production and consumption of objects will grow, the
02:51 more the dissatisfaction in your life will grow.
02:56 Now do you see why neurosis has become so pandemic in the last 100 years?
03:09 When you relate it to the exponential rise in man's ability to produce and consume objects,
03:27 the more is our ability to produce and consume objects, the more terribly dissatisfied we
03:35 grow within.
03:39 And hence mental illness.
03:50 Remaining what man is, if he would someday come to a point of technological attainment
04:00 where he could colonize and exploit the entire universe, that would be his last day.
04:13 Because that would be the day the falseness of his hope-based existence would be brutally
04:28 and undeniably revealed to him.
04:36 Now everything is available for consumption.
04:39 No scope left for any future.
04:49 There is nothing that you can keep suspended for the future.
04:54 All is immediately available.
04:59 Pick what you may.
05:08 And horror.
05:10 You find that even this infinite abundance of choice fails to quench your thirst.
05:24 You will collapse.
05:28 Mind you, in a psychic way.
05:29 In a bodily way, you may still continue to move about, as most people do.
05:38 Were our bodies to reflect accurately and honestly the state of our minds, none of us
05:53 would have been able to walk firmly even for a distance of 10 meters.
06:09 Our legs would have shown up as cut, wounded, bruised, fractured, the way, exactly the way
06:25 our mind is.
06:28 Unfortunately for us, our bodies do not reflect the condition of our mind.
06:37 Mind is in deep trauma.
06:45 Mind is fractured and lacerated, cut upon cut.
06:54 And yet the body looks so healthy.
06:58 The skin is glowing.
07:03 And that keeps us in the illusion that things are almost all right.
