Plat, flat, plano, piano... tant de mots pour dire que l'étape du jour ne comportait pas la moindre difficulté. En effet, cette 13e étape du Tour d'Italie entre Riccione et Cento (179 km) ne comptait que 150 mètres de dénivelé positif. Un terrain parfait pour les sprinteurs, qui ont su s'exprimer avec la victoire du meilleur d'entre eux sur ce Giro : Jonathan Milan ! Parfaitement emmené par son équipe Lidl-Trek, l'Italien a été chercher sa 3e victoire d'étape sur cette 107e édition et conforte son maillot Cyclamen. Il a devancé sur la ligne Stanislaw Aniolkowski (Cofidis) et Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain Victorious). Tandis que Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) conserve sans problème la tête du classement général.
