00:00 I feel very privileged and honoured to win this award. I work with an amazing group of midwives,
00:10 healthcare assistants and support workers and doctors to provide the care that we do
00:14 and to be singled out for the Hazel McAllister Award is a huge honour. I worked with Hazel over
00:19 a number of years here in the Trust. She was a very respected and much loved colleague and to
00:24 have John and Amy and Corey here today to present this award to me means a huge amount.
00:28 It is great that Hazel has left a legacy and we now have this award in perpetuity
00:40 which acts as a catalyst for the midwives here. Well basically as a remembrance to Hazel and the
00:51 fact that she promoted the Royal College of Midwives and the fact that she also cared so
01:01 much about the mental well-being of her colleagues that it was very important. I think Hazel inspired
01:08 all of us as midwives. She was very woman-centred, she was very focused on everything she did,
01:13 she always gave her everything to her job and she was just the epitome of what an excellent
01:18 midwife should be. I'm absolutely delighted that Julie Dunlop has won the Hazel McAllister
01:23 Midwifery Award today. It's a very special award for her and a very special award for all of her
01:29 colleagues and those who have nominated her. I've been a midwife and a nurse for over 40 years and
01:35 I've always kind of been happy to be in the background. This makes me feel slightly uncomfortable
01:40 but I am very very honoured to be, my work to be acknowledged today. I'm hugely proud.
