00:02:22 This is the relay station at Rawhide Pass,
00:02:25 one of many strung along the 2,700-mile route.
00:02:28 Here, while a fresh team of mules was hitched to the stage,
00:02:31 the driver and passengers could wash, have some food,
00:02:34 and go on to the next station many miles away.
00:02:36 No good, Tom.
00:02:38 It ain't been no picnic for me neither.
00:02:40 I'm just getting mule skinner's ways.
00:02:42 And that don't include no bonus for learning you the business.
00:02:46 I've known your old man for 40 years.
00:02:48 There weren't nothing too tough for him.
00:02:50 That's why when he cracks the whip, men and mules just lay back their ears and take orders.
00:02:55 If any man was to talk to him the way I'm talking to you,
00:02:58 he'd poke both fists right in their whiskers.
00:03:01 Well, can't you even talk back?
00:03:07 Trouble with you, you just don't listen.
00:03:15 Here I've been trying for five, six months to learn you the business,
00:03:18 you're still shaving, taking a bath.
00:03:21 Well, it's no wonder them mules don't take to you kindly.
00:03:25 Here, what's your old man gonna think of me
00:03:28 if I send you back looking just as much of a dude as when you first come out here?
00:03:32 Well, doggone it, can't you say something?
00:03:37 Yes, Sam. Bugle's blowing.
00:03:40 Well, that's the trouble. You get me so riled up, I can't even attend to business.
00:03:44 Try him again, Billy.
00:03:47 Now do it like a lurchy, then come out and help me with them mules.
00:03:56 Now do it like a lurchy, then come out and help me with them mules.

00:04:55 Hello. You still here in the center of civilization, Tom?
00:05:01 I won't be much longer, Mr. Scott. I finally got my pardon.
00:05:04 Well, you're going back east, huh?
00:05:06 Yes, sir.
00:05:07 When?
00:05:08 In one week.
00:05:09 Well, you haven't half earned a business yet.

00:05:23 What's the baby's name, Miss Holt?
00:05:45 Kelly.
00:05:46 Kelly? I never heard that name before.
00:05:49 Short for California, Sam. Born there, wasn't she?
00:05:52 Placerville.
00:05:54 In a mining camp?
00:05:55 That's right.
00:05:56 Poor little thing. It's tough.
00:05:58 It's tough to be born anywhere.
00:06:00 A little more coffee, Miss Holt?
00:06:03 No, thank you. And please stop calling me Mrs. Holt. I'm Miss.
00:06:06 Miss Holt?
00:06:07 Yes.
00:06:08 Yes.
00:06:09 Have a little more coffee, Mr. Slade?
00:06:20 Coffee? This stuff tastes like burnt corn boiled in branch water.
00:06:25 Well, it could be. We don't run no fancy hotel here.
00:06:27 You couldn't get it down with a swig of whiskey.
00:06:30 Back whereever you came from, I'll bet you were glad to get a drink out of a sluice box.
00:06:34 Well, it didn't cost $200 in gold, it didn't.
00:06:36 That's the price of the stage ticket, Mr. Slade. The company throws the food in extra.
00:06:40 You call this food?
00:06:42 Mule boy here seems to like it.
00:06:44 Mule boy doesn't. But it's eat or starve, so I eat.
00:06:53 Just wait till I get back to Missouri.
00:06:55 I'm going to take it up with a fella I'm raised hot with him, whoever's running this here company.
00:07:00 Looks like trouble for old J.C.
00:07:02 J.C. can take care of any trouble that comes his way.
00:07:04 Who's J.C.?
00:07:06 J.C. Owens. His father, superintendent of the Eastern Division.
00:07:09 I'll give you his address in St. Joe if you'll throw in a couple of complaints from me.
00:07:13 See you in St. Joe, Mr. Scott.
00:07:25 (Sounds of struggle)
00:07:27 You just pulled in from the West?
00:07:47 Half hour ago.
00:07:48 You didn't by any chance see four men on the road?
00:07:50 Nope.
00:07:51 Who are you looking for, lieutenant?
00:07:52 A fella named Zimmerman.
00:07:54 Ralph Zimmerman?
00:07:55 Yeah.
00:07:56 I thought they had him in prison over at Huntsville.
00:07:58 He broke out the day before his due to get home.
00:08:01 Him and three others.
00:08:03 You didn't see him, did you, Todd?
00:08:04 No. And I don't want to, neither.
00:08:06 Figure they crossed over into Mexico?
00:08:08 No, they're after gold. Lots of it.
00:08:11 Found that out at La Mesilla where they held up Johnny Madden's stage.
00:08:14 Johnny drove through here just yesterday.
00:08:16 That's right.
00:08:17 Too much damage?
00:08:18 Plenty. Killed Johnny Madden.
00:08:19 Johnny Madden killed?
00:08:20 Yeah.
00:08:21 We're here to get you escorted as far as La Mesilla.
00:08:23 If you're ready to go.
00:08:24 I'm ready to go, all right.
00:08:26 But I got a responsibility.
00:08:27 My passengers.
00:08:29 You and little Callie will have to stay here, Miss Holt.
00:08:34 Why?
00:08:35 Company rule.
00:08:36 That's right, ma'am.
00:08:37 Company rule my foot.
00:08:38 I paid my fare.
00:08:39 It took all the money I could scrape up.
00:08:41 I won't do it.
00:08:42 I'm sorry. It's a company rule not to risk the lives of children.
00:08:45 If you're bent on going, I can't stop you.
00:08:48 But you'll have to leave the baby behind.
00:08:50 That's one responsibility I'm not allowed to take.
00:08:52 Leave Callie behind.
00:08:54 Jibber jabber.
00:08:55 That's up to you, ma'am.
00:08:57 Here, you.
00:08:59 Take her thing.
00:09:00 He'll do nothing of the kind.
00:09:01 I'm not staying here.
00:09:02 I'm afraid you are, ma'am.
00:09:04 Company rules.
00:09:05 Leave these things alone.
00:09:07 You leave me and my things alone.
00:09:15 I'm going in this stagecoach and the baby's going with me.
00:09:18 Stop her, Tom.
00:09:19 Just try and stop me.
00:09:21 I said stop her, Tom.
00:09:22 Well, grab her. Don't go in and grab her.
00:09:24 Let me go.
00:09:25 Take your hands off me.
00:09:27 I've got to get to St. Louis.
00:09:29 Let me go.
00:09:30 I've never been on that stagecoach.
00:09:32 Take your hands off me.
00:09:33 Let me go, you fool.
00:09:35 You'll make me lose my job.
00:09:37 Hurry up, Gil. Get them on out.
00:09:39 Let me go.
00:09:41 I hope you're happy with what you've done.
00:09:45 I'm sorry I hurt your arm.
00:09:46 Thanks for not breaking it.
00:09:47 Don't blame me, ma'am.
00:09:48 I'm only a hired hand here.
00:09:49 You'll only lose one day, ma'am.
00:09:51 You can go in on the stage tomorrow.
00:09:53 Tom, you take her things inside and I'll look after the mules.
00:10:00 Take it easy.
00:10:10 That's everything I own.
00:10:12 Thanks.
00:10:14 What are you doing?
00:10:40 I'm taking this room.
00:10:41 I'm sorry. This is mine.
00:10:42 Not tonight, it isn't.
00:10:44 I'm sorry.
00:10:46 I'm sorry.
00:10:48 I'm sorry.
00:11:17 Straight up coyotes.
00:11:18 Yeah, the kind with boots on.
00:11:20 Wait a minute.
00:11:23 Is there some place around here I can take a bath?
00:11:26 Yeah, the pitcher's full.
00:11:27 I said bath.
00:11:29 Come on.
00:11:33 You see that?
00:11:38 That what?
00:11:40 That what that Sam is pumping water into.
00:11:43 That's a horse trough.
00:11:45 Well, just don't use any soap.
00:11:47 The animals don't like it.
00:11:49 Is that where you take a bath?
00:11:51 No.
00:11:52 Don't you ever take a bath?
00:11:54 Now and again.
00:11:55 Back in the canyon, a hot spring.
00:11:57 That's more like it.
00:11:58 Mind if I borrow this?
00:12:00 Well, it looks as if you already have.
00:12:03 You sure you know how to use it?
00:12:04 I've seen them around.
00:12:05 Well, here.
00:12:07 In that case, you might just as well take this, too.
00:12:11 And you'll find my towel and my soap in my room.
00:12:15 Have a nice bath.
00:12:17 Where's she going?
00:12:27 Back in the canyon.
00:12:28 She's doing what you ought to do once in a while.
00:12:30 Take a bath.
00:12:31 Keep dry outside and wet inside.
00:12:33 That's what a man does in this country.
00:12:37 [horse whinnies]
00:12:39 What's that?
00:12:44 You hear anything?
00:12:46 No, I don't hear anything.
00:12:49 Where's your gun?
00:12:50 What do you think?
00:12:52 She took it.
00:12:53 [horse whinnies]
00:12:55 [footsteps]
00:12:57 [music]
00:13:16 Now, who are they?
00:13:20 Who could that be?
00:13:22 What are you going to do?
00:13:24 Keep a beat on him.
00:13:25 He'll find out who it is.
00:13:27 [music]
00:13:29 You the station keeper?
00:13:52 No, I just work here.
00:13:54 Where's the boss?
00:13:56 Oh, he's around.
00:13:58 Just the two of you work here?
00:14:00 I guess you're wondering who I am, huh?
00:14:06 Well, there aren't many strangers come along.
00:14:09 I've been wondering about you, too.
00:14:11 But I guess you're all right.
00:14:18 Deputy Sheriff Miles from Huntsville.
00:14:21 Oh, Owens is my name.
00:14:28 All right, Sam, you can come out now.
00:14:46 I hear they killed one of my best friends, Johnny Mann.
00:14:49 That's right.
00:14:50 Ought to be shot down like a mad dog, that Zimmerman.
00:14:52 Not a doubt about it.
00:14:54 Cooper said he's looking for gold.
00:14:57 Now stand still, Todd.
00:14:59 Get your hands up.
00:15:04 Get over against that wall.
00:15:06 Fire.
00:15:09 Face it.
00:15:14 Now stay that way.
00:15:16 Hiya, Sheriff Zimmerman.
00:15:43 Keep him covered.
00:15:44 Sure, Zim.
00:15:46 Is that everybody, boss? Just them two?
00:15:56 Don't know for sure.
00:15:57 Golly, it works just like Zim said.
00:15:59 We could have rode straight in.
00:16:00 Yes, take a look around outside.
00:16:02 Here, take this.
00:16:04 You reckon that I'll be needing firearms, boss?
00:16:06 Take it. Put our horses in the corral and hide the saddles.
00:16:09 Sure.
00:16:11 Take a look around for guns.
00:16:13 Grats.
00:16:17 Gracias.
00:16:18 All right, Todd, Owens, turn around.
00:16:32 Listen, Zimmerman.
00:16:35 I'll do the talking.
00:16:36 I gotta say something.
00:16:38 Now I want answers, and I want 'em right.
00:16:44 What time's the next stage, do you hear?
00:16:48 The one from the east.
00:16:50 What time?
00:16:51 Tonight.
00:16:52 What time?
00:16:53 About sundown.
00:16:55 What about the next stage from the west?
00:16:57 That's tomorrow.
00:16:59 What time?
00:17:01 Usually early morning.
00:17:03 Is that right?
00:17:07 I ask you, is that right?
00:17:10 Yeah.
00:17:12 Know how much gold it's carrying?
00:17:15 No.
00:17:18 You?
00:17:20 None. That shipment went through today.
00:17:22 You son of a...
00:17:24 I don't like to be lied to.
00:17:31 The westbound stage is due here at eight o'clock tonight.
00:17:34 The California stage comes through tomorrow noon,
00:17:37 and it's carrying close to a hundred thousand dollars in gold bars
00:17:40 consigned by the Crocker Mining Company in Sacramento
00:17:43 to the government mint in Wall Street, New York.
00:17:45 You both knew it because Johnny Madden told you so yesterday.
00:17:49 Take those, Zimmerman.
00:17:51 Hey, Zim, look.
00:18:02 You want to take me out to a barn dance?
00:18:04 Where did you get those things?
00:18:06 In there.
00:18:07 Where is she?
00:18:08 Thanks, Zimmerman.
00:18:09 Your wife?
00:18:10 No.
00:18:12 So she's yours.
00:18:14 Where is she?
00:18:16 Where is she, Owens?
00:18:18 Where's your wife?
00:18:20 I haven't got a wife.
00:18:22 I haven't got a wife.
00:18:24 [gunshots]
00:18:26 [gunshots]
00:18:39 [whimpering]
00:18:51 [whimpering]
00:18:53 [gunshots]
00:18:57 He won't hand us no more lies.
00:19:15 Where was you, Zim?
00:19:19 Using my head.
00:19:21 You ran out and left Owens.
00:19:23 Where is he?
00:19:26 You want I should take care of him, too?
00:19:31 If you had half a brain, you'd know we need Owens.
00:19:34 Sounds just like a baby crying.
00:19:39 I'll ring tail mark here for a dog.
00:19:43 [baby crying]
00:19:45 Look.
00:19:52 Look, it is a baby.
00:19:54 [baby crying]
00:19:56 [baby crying]
00:20:11 [baby crying]
00:20:13 Those are the men the troopers were looking for.
00:20:20 Why did they lock me in here?
00:20:22 They think you're my wife.
00:20:23 Your wife?
00:20:24 That's right.
00:20:25 What gave them that idea?
00:20:27 I don't know. I didn't say it. It was their idea.
00:20:29 Did you tell them different?
00:20:31 They didn't give me a chance.
00:20:33 Well, don't do it, then.
00:20:34 Why?
00:20:35 Well, it might save your skin and your baby's.
00:20:38 How?
00:20:39 I don't know, but as long as they've made a mistake, we might as well go along with it.
00:20:42 Whose skin are you trying to save? Ours or yours?
00:20:45 Well, mine, too.
00:20:47 Now, listen here, Miss Holt or Mrs. Holt or whatever your name is.
00:20:51 Those killers are after gold.
00:20:53 Gold that's coming through tomorrow on the stage from California.
00:20:56 I don't know what's in their crazy heads or what their scheme is,
00:20:59 but killing me right away isn't part of it or they'd have done that by now.
00:21:02 What's all this got to do with your telling them I'm your wife?
00:21:05 I told you I didn't tell them.
00:21:06 They just put two and two together.
00:21:08 Simple as that, huh?
00:21:10 You're not getting me mixed up in this.
00:21:11 I'm going out there and tell them I'm just a passenger on this line.
00:21:14 They're going to rob all the stagecoaches they want to,
00:21:16 but I'll do nothing to get Callie or me killed.
00:21:19 Now, you listen to me.
00:21:21 Your only chance of staying alive, at least as long as I do,
00:21:23 is to let them keep on thinking that you're my wife.
00:21:26 They need me.
00:21:28 The gold they want is on the eastbound stage,
00:21:30 but it doesn't come through here until tomorrow.
00:21:32 There's a westbound stage that goes through here tonight.
00:21:35 Sam's dead.
00:21:36 They've got to keep me here alive.
00:21:38 Now, you and the baby can stay alive just as long as I do.
00:21:42 That's all I've got to say, and you can do what you like.
00:21:45 Where'd you get this?
00:22:03 Why do you think Todd was running for the stable?
00:22:05 That's where Sim find it, by golly.
00:22:08 Old Sour Belly sure could have picked us off with this.
00:22:11 Give it to Grotz.
00:22:12 He won't leave it lying around where Owens can get his hands on it.
00:22:15 Meaning you can't count on me?
00:22:22 Now, let's get this straight.
00:22:25 I didn't pick any of you for this.
00:22:27 You just happened to be there when I made my break.
00:22:30 All right, you're here, and that's my bad luck.
00:22:33 By golly, Sim, I don't do nothing.
00:22:35 Oh, it's not you he's shooting at.
00:22:37 You Grotz, you're nothing but a big dumb coot that does anything he says.
00:22:42 And you, Yancy, you're a one-horse horse thief.
00:22:46 It's me he's griping at.
00:22:49 The first thing to do is to get rid of Todd's body.
00:22:54 Take care of it, Tevis.
00:22:56 You, Yancy, give him a hand.
00:22:59 Sure.
00:23:00 Come on, Bean Belly.
00:23:02 Come on.
00:23:03 All right, come out.
00:23:21 Grotz!
00:23:22 You must forgive me. He's just a big dumb animal.
00:23:37 Yeah, by golly.
00:23:38 What kind of an animal are you, letting them shoot down an unarmed man?
00:23:41 Kill or be killed, he was heading for that rifle.
00:23:44 Where's your gun?
00:23:49 My what?
00:23:51 Your revolver. You know what I'm talking about.
00:23:53 Can't you see he hasn't any?
00:23:55 Where's your revolver?
00:23:57 Well, Sam had it. You took it away from him, don't you remember?
00:24:00 Where's his gun?
00:24:01 He sent it to Tucson to have it fixed.
00:24:03 What was wrong with it?
00:24:05 The firing pin was broken.
00:24:07 That's a rotten thing to do.
00:24:16 Tevis!
00:24:18 Put that body on a pack mule.
00:24:22 Tevis has no respect for the dead.
00:24:33 And he just loves the living.
00:24:35 Why don't you let us bury him?
00:24:37 We won't run away. We'd hate to get shot in the back.
00:24:40 Go ahead.
00:24:42 If it'll make you feel any better.
00:24:44 She's all right where she is, Mrs. Owens.
00:24:47 If you want to go with your husband, go.
00:24:49 But the baby stays here.
00:24:51 Go with him.
00:24:57 Tell Tevis to let them bury him.
00:24:59 Yes, sir.
00:25:00 Stick close.
00:25:01 Yes, sir.
00:25:09 [coyote howls]
00:25:12 [coyote howls]
00:25:23 [coyote howls]
00:25:37 All right, back to the station.
00:25:39 Maybe they want to say some words.
00:25:41 Let them get it over with.
00:25:43 You take that shovel and get going.
00:25:45 It ain't fit to walk away--
00:25:47 I said get going.
00:25:49 Go on. Go on. Say the words.
00:25:59 May the Lord grant you everlasting rest and peace.
00:26:02 Come on. What are you doing? Preaching a sermon?
00:26:05 Where's my pistol?
00:26:07 It must be behind the water trough.
00:26:12 [music playing]
00:26:16 [music playing]
00:26:19 Just a minute.
00:26:45 Now, I want the next stage to come through and no questions asked.
00:26:49 But they'll want to know where Sam is, won't they?
00:26:51 And you'll tell them.
00:26:52 Go on to Tucson, Fort Yuma.
00:26:54 Make up your own story.
00:26:56 But make it good, so nobody gets suspicious.
00:26:59 Remember, Owens, you have two good reasons to be careful.
00:27:13 [music playing]
00:27:16 Company rules.
00:27:39 If they hadn't forced me to stay here, I'd be on my way to my job and we'd be safe.
00:27:44 Yeah, well, looks like we've both missed being on the right stage.
00:27:53 Where were you bound for?
00:27:59 I was taking Kelly to her father's spokes in Independence.
00:28:05 Where is her father?
00:28:07 He was killed in Gold Run three months ago.
00:28:10 Her mother, too.
00:28:12 Kelly isn't my baby. Her mother, Jeannie, was my sister.
00:28:17 Oh.
00:28:18 What happened?
00:28:22 We used to sing and dance on the Mississippi River boats.
00:28:29 Jeannie fell in love with a gambler.
00:28:32 He got the gold thief, you know, wanted to go out west.
00:28:36 She wouldn't go without me.
00:28:38 So we went from mining camp to mining camp.
00:28:42 Jeannie was pretty.
00:28:44 Johnny, her husband, was hot-tempered and jealous.
00:28:49 Every time a man so much as gave Jeannie a smile, there'd be a brawl.
00:28:53 One night, a drunken claim jumper took a fancy to her.
00:28:57 When the shooting was over, I was alone with Kelly.
00:29:01 I kept on working.
00:29:05 I saved up enough money to get us back east.
00:29:08 And?
00:29:11 And you end up in this mess.
00:29:14 I could get my hands on that pistol.
00:29:20 Buzz, just watching Owens like you told me to.
00:29:34 Keep away from her.
00:29:36 I ain't been cured of women yet.
00:29:40 Ain't had your medicines in.
00:29:43 Now let's get one thing straight.
00:29:45 Owens will take orders from us just as long as he thinks that's the only way he'll save his wife and kid.
00:29:49 You start anything and the whole thing blows up in our faces.
00:29:54 [footsteps]
00:29:56 Where did you get that coat?
00:30:06 Oh, oh, well I got it.
00:30:08 It's just a coat for that fancy pants passenger.
00:30:11 He took a whole carpet bag full.
00:30:13 Take it off.
00:30:14 Ah, well it's kind of pretty.
00:30:16 Take it off and bury it.
00:30:17 Bury it?
00:30:18 Yes, bury it. Get it all out of sight.
00:30:20 Don't you realize there's a whole stagecoach full of people coming through here soon?
00:30:23 Can't you get that through your simple heads?
00:30:25 I'm sorry, boss. I misfigured it.
00:30:27 Well, bury it.
00:30:29 Take it off.
00:30:33 Bury it.
00:30:35 Dig a hole out.
00:30:37 Bury it.
00:30:38 Bury it.
00:30:39 [whispering]
00:30:41 It's a pity to take a pretty coat out and bury it on a stage.
00:30:48 [singing]
00:30:50 [singing]
00:31:08 [singing]
00:31:10 [singing]
00:31:12 [singing]
00:31:16 [singing]
00:31:20 [singing]
00:31:26 [singing]
00:31:34 [singing]
00:31:36 [singing]
00:31:42 Clock stopped.
00:31:47 Usually does if you don't wind it.
00:31:49 What time is it by your watch?
00:31:51 I could tell you if I had it.
00:31:53 [humming]
00:31:55 [humming]
00:31:57 Yancey.
00:32:06 Yes, boss?
00:32:07 What time is it by his watch?
00:32:09 Well, let's see now.
00:32:11 Uh, just, uh, nine o'clock. Straight up.
00:32:21 [singing]
00:32:23 Have you got any idea what's holding up that stagecoach?
00:32:29 No.
00:32:30 Well, does it often come in so late?
00:32:32 Sometimes.
00:32:34 Sometimes they don't get in at all.
00:32:36 Well, what do you mean by that?
00:32:38 Johnny Madden's stage never got in, did it?
00:32:41 Boss! Boss, look! She likes it! She's singing!
00:32:45 [singing]
00:32:47 [laughing]
00:32:49 [humming]
00:32:51 Mrs. Owens, put your baby to bed.
00:32:55 She sure sings pretty, ma'am.
00:33:05 I'll call you when the stage comes.
00:33:16 [singing]
00:33:18 Have you thought of something?
00:33:39 Yes.
00:33:42 [phone ringing]
00:33:44 Here.
00:33:58 Try to get this to the stagecoach driver, but be careful.
00:34:00 Don't take any chances.
00:34:02 They'll be watching us every minute, and they'll shoot down everyone if anything goes wrong.
00:34:05 I'll try to get one to him, too.
00:34:07 Keep your ear to the door.
00:34:09 [footsteps]
00:34:11 [singing]
00:34:32 [dog barking]
00:34:38 What's that?
00:34:39 Ah, keep your pants on, Yancy.
00:34:41 It's just a lucky old coyote singing to his sweetheart.
00:35:07 She coming, I think. Listen.
00:35:10 Yeah, by golly, that's it.
00:35:13 That's it, all right. You know what to do.
00:35:15 Yes.
00:35:17 Tevis, don't worry about me.
00:35:19 Yancy.
00:35:20 Sure, sure, I know, boss.
00:35:22 [footsteps]
00:35:24 All right, come on out, both of you.
00:35:40 Yancy.
00:35:45 What's he going to do?
00:35:46 He'll look after the baby.
00:35:50 Now go with him.
00:35:52 Tevis.
00:35:54 Now wait a minute, Zimmerman.
00:35:55 She'll be all right, just as long as you don't make any mistakes.
00:35:59 Why can't I stay here with my husband?
00:36:01 Because I don't want you here.
00:36:03 He don't trust no woman, girly.
00:36:05 Go on, Mrs. Owens.
00:36:08 Go ahead.
00:36:12 Grats.
00:36:13 [footsteps]
00:36:15 Now remember, all Grats and Tevis have to hear is one shot.
00:36:25 Now grab that lantern and look alive.
00:36:28 Come on.
00:36:31 Get your hands off that.
00:36:39 I thought you wanted that stagecoach to go through with no questions asked.
00:36:43 Well, they won't even come in if they don't hear me blow this.
00:36:46 All right, go ahead.
00:36:47 But they better come in.
00:36:49 [horn honking]
00:36:56 [grunts]
00:37:00 [grunts]
00:37:01 [grunts]
00:37:03 [water splashing]
00:37:05 [baby crying]
00:37:17 No.
00:37:22 No, kiddie, everything's all right.
00:37:25 Your mama's just gone for a walk.
00:37:29 Uncle Nancy'll take care of you.
00:37:32 Go to sleep now.
00:37:36 That's right.
00:37:39 Go to sleep.
00:37:41 And when you grow up, kiddie,
00:37:45 never, never, never steal a horse.
00:37:50 [water splashing]
00:37:52 I think that'll fit all right.
00:38:14 Get it on there.
00:38:16 Let's see.
00:38:19 That's a pretty issue.
00:38:21 Let's see.
00:38:23 I'll make it, I'll make it.
00:38:26 I'll get it, I'll get it.
00:38:28 [horse whinnying]
00:38:30 Grants, you stay back where you can see Zim's signal.
00:38:37 [horse whinnying]
00:38:46 [grunting]
00:38:49 [dramatic music]
00:38:51 [grunting]
00:38:53 [grunting]
00:39:04 [grunting]
00:39:06 Hello.
00:39:17 Howdy, Tom.
00:39:18 Howdy, Tex.
00:39:19 Howdy, Luke.
00:39:20 Howdy, Tom.
00:39:21 Where's Sam?
00:39:26 Uh, Tucson.
00:39:27 Tucson.
00:39:31 Yeah, he had to go have his tooth pulled.
00:39:33 His face swelled clear out to here.
00:39:35 It's kind of unusual, ain't it, old Sam,
00:39:38 leaving here alone with them outlaws on the loose?
00:39:40 He's not exactly alone.
00:39:43 Well, I guess I'd better introduce myself.
00:39:51 Deputy Sheriff Miles.
00:39:55 Huntsville.
00:39:56 Oh, I thought it was kind of funny, old Sam,
00:39:59 would go off and leave Tom here alone.
00:40:02 You know, shorthanded.
00:40:03 No sign of them outlaws yet?
00:40:04 Nope.
00:40:05 Say, you're kind of late tonight, aren't you?
00:40:07 Yeah, I made us wait up until I was here
00:40:09 till Gil Scudrove in.
00:40:11 Just wanted to make sure we wouldn't run into no trouble.
00:40:14 Want me to give you a hand with the team, Tom?
00:40:16 No, I'll help him.
00:40:18 Much obliged.
00:40:19 Say, your face looks kind of familiar, Sheriff.
00:40:22 It does to a lot of people.
00:40:24 Say, you'd better go on inside.
00:40:25 Tom's got bacon, beans, and coffee on the stove.
00:40:28 Good, good.
00:40:29 Come on, Luke.
00:40:30 Come on, folks, let's eat.
00:40:31 Good.
00:40:32 I'm ready, boys.
00:40:33 The coffee is better here than it was at last.
00:40:35 Certainly glad to get in here.
00:40:38 Please come in.
00:40:39 Oh, yeah, I'll go.
00:40:41 Um, good night.
00:40:43 Good night, baby.
00:40:44 Little papa, huh?
00:40:46 All right, go ahead.
00:40:50 [dog barking]
00:40:55 [grunting]
00:41:20 Yeah, you know how long it's been since I seen a pretty face, girly?
00:41:26 Two years.
00:41:28 Two long years.
00:41:32 Had a jug they had me in up in Huntsville that didn't have no window.
00:41:37 I could hear the laughing and the music from the dance hall across the street.
00:41:44 Once I even got a whiff of perfumy, like yours, but I couldn't see.
00:41:52 No, sir, not for two long years.
00:42:12 Say, Tom, I keep thinking it's a funny thing Sam would go off and leave you alone.
00:42:16 Couldn't you yak that tooth for him?
00:42:18 Well, Luke, I told Todd I'd stick here until he got back.
00:42:21 I could use some more coffee, Tom.
00:42:23 Sort of left Tom here in your custody, huh, Sheriff?
00:42:26 Yeah, that's about the size of it.
00:42:28 Thanks, Tom.
00:42:30 You sure I ain't seen you someplace before, Sheriff?
00:42:41 Ever been to Huntsville?
00:42:43 Nope. Not inside.
00:42:46 I hear it's a pretty tough place.
00:42:50 Not tough enough to hold that fellow's eminence.
00:42:53 You don't know him, Sheriff?
00:42:55 I was in Huntsville the same time he was. Outside.
00:42:59 Well, I'd be glad to get some first-hand information.
00:43:03 Mr. Pickards with the New York Herald.
00:43:05 Oh, yes, Horace Greeley's newspaper. I haven't seen one in a long time.
00:43:10 He's making his trip to write up the Oval and Mail.
00:43:12 I'm almost sorry we didn't meet up with that gang you're after.
00:43:15 Make good copy.
00:43:16 Oh, please don't say such things.
00:43:18 Don't get nervous, Mama.
00:43:19 Sheriff's sitting here with us.
00:43:21 Yeah, I am, but...
00:43:22 This Zimmerman. Cold proposition, isn't he?
00:43:25 A pretty tough huckleberry.
00:43:27 What's he look like?
00:43:29 Oh, he's about my height.
00:43:31 Maybe a little more, a little less.
00:43:33 Smooth-shaven.
00:43:35 Straight nose.
00:43:37 Hair and eyes about my color.
00:43:39 He came from a pretty high-toned family.
00:43:41 Was going big guns in the banking business till he met that woman.
00:43:45 That so?
00:43:46 Well, that's been rumored that way.
00:43:48 Oh, it's the truth.
00:43:50 She was a Creole gal from New Orleans and a plenty good-looker.
00:43:54 Her name was, uh...
00:43:57 What was her name?
00:43:58 What business are you traveling for, Mr. Chickering?
00:44:01 Colts, Hartford, Connecticut.
00:44:03 Just one more question.
00:44:04 What crime were they going to hang Zimmerman for?
00:44:06 Murder.
00:44:09 He killed this Creole gal 'cause she was double-dealing him for some other young bucko.
00:44:14 Killed him, too.
00:44:15 Shot 'em both dead.
00:44:17 That right, Sheriff?
00:44:19 Well, from what he told me, they had it coming to 'em.
00:44:23 You almost sound as if you admired him.
00:44:26 Never underestimate your enemy, Mr. Figert.
00:44:30 It's a good way to keep alive.
00:44:32 Very interesting. Do you mind if I quote you?
00:44:34 No, not at all. Just so you spell my name right.
00:44:37 I hear Colts getting out some new army models.
00:44:40 That's what I'm taking to California.
00:44:42 Uh, Sheriff Miles.
00:44:44 M-I-L-E-S. Ben Miles.
00:44:47 Slickest line of guns you ever see, Sheriff.
00:44:50 Show 'em to 'em, Mr. Chickering.
00:44:51 I'll be glad to.
00:44:53 Fine.
00:44:54 Look, Tom, wanna have a look at a hometown newspaper?
00:44:59 Ain't but 12 days old.
00:45:01 Thanks.
00:45:05 What do you think?
00:45:07 It's way ahead of anything I've ever handled.
00:45:10 Good balance.
00:45:12 Yes, nice, smooth action.
00:45:14 You wouldn't wanna sell this one, would you?
00:45:19 I should say not. They're my samples.
00:45:22 Let's see that, Sheriff.
00:45:25 Oh, that's mighty slick.
00:45:27 (horse whinnies)
00:45:29 (horse whinnies)
00:45:31 (shouting)
00:45:33 (shouting)
00:45:35 (shouting)
00:45:37 (shouting)
00:45:39 Uh, was it an outlaw?
00:45:47 No, no, I reckon it was just a coyote run through the corral.
00:45:50 Well, folks, time to get to moving again.
00:45:53 Take a look.
00:45:56 Sheriff, did you have my revolver?
00:45:59 Why, I gave it to Davis.
00:46:01 Didn't I lay it on the table?
00:46:03 Well, I don't see it.
00:46:05 Here it is, right where Mr. Davis left it.
00:46:09 Thank you, Sheriff.
00:46:11 Come on, folks, get your gear together. We got a long ride ahead.
00:46:14 Well, nice to have seen you, Sheriff.
00:46:20 Thanks, same to you.
00:46:24 Stage is waiting, Tom.
00:46:26 (shouting)
00:46:40 (shouting)
00:46:42 (shouting)
00:46:44 (shouting)
00:46:46 (shouting)
00:46:48 (shouting)
00:46:50 (shouting)
00:46:52 (shouting)
00:46:54 (shouting)
00:46:56 (shouting)
00:46:58 (shouting)
00:47:00 (shouting)
00:47:02 (shouting)
00:47:04 (whistling)
00:47:06 (whistling)
00:47:11 (whistling)
00:47:13 What kind of a fool do you think I am, trying to swipe that salesman's gun?
00:47:28 I don't want to have to kill you, unless you make me do it.
00:47:37 (whistling)
00:47:39 Everything all right, Tim?
00:47:42 I tell you, I want a drink.
00:47:45 Where's my wife?
00:47:50 She coming with Tevis.
00:47:52 Tim, you can't leave her...
00:47:54 Tevis knows better than to lay a hand on her. Now get in there.
00:47:58 (screaming)
00:48:06 Vinnie!
00:48:08 Tom! Tom!
00:48:13 Oh, Tom!
00:48:17 Take him inside.
00:48:18 Yes, Tim.
00:48:20 Yancey, go with him.
00:48:28 Think I had to, boss.
00:48:31 (whistling)
00:48:33 Spitcat, ain't she?
00:48:38 I... I lost my gun.
00:48:44 Here it is.
00:48:48 Wanna bust my hand?
00:48:53 Get up.
00:48:54 Now look, don't get any wrong ideas.
00:48:56 I warned you, Tevis.
00:48:59 I'll... I'll kill you for this.
00:49:01 Get up.
00:49:03 You wouldn't kick me if I... if I had my gun.
00:49:10 You'd like me to reach for it, wouldn't you?
00:49:21 (beeping)
00:49:23 Well, I don't know. I had it and somehow or other it fell out.
00:49:50 But you still have yours, haven't you?
00:49:52 I...
00:49:54 Yes. I'd better get rid of it.
00:49:59 Good.
00:50:03 Do you think they'll let us go tomorrow morning after the stagecoach gets here?
00:50:07 Not a chance. They know that we saw them kill Sam.
00:50:10 We'll have to get out before it comes in.
00:50:13 (beeping)
00:50:41 Yancey, you'll stand watch till midnight.
00:50:44 Yancey.
00:50:46 Yeah, I heard you. I heard you. Sure.
00:50:48 Grotz, you take the second watch.
00:50:51 Yes, sir.
00:50:53 Tevis will relieve you at four.
00:50:56 (liquid pouring)
00:50:59 (liquid pouring)
00:51:01 (liquid pouring)
00:51:29 Can I fill this?
00:51:31 Yeah, go ahead.
00:51:33 Get your water over there.
00:51:46 I want drinking water.
00:51:48 (footsteps)
00:51:50 (liquid pouring)
00:51:58 (liquid pouring)
00:52:25 Can't you pour it in?
00:52:28 (liquid pouring)
00:52:31 (liquid pouring)
00:52:33 (liquid pouring)
00:52:36 (footsteps)
00:52:38 (footsteps)
00:53:06 Grotz, you... you better get some sleep.
00:53:09 Yeah, I'll see.
00:53:11 (beeping)
00:53:16 (lip smacking)
00:53:18 (horse whinnying)
00:53:20 Make me bury my coat.
00:53:25 (beeping)
00:53:27 (horse whinnying)
00:53:51 (horse whinnying)
00:53:53 (horse whinnying)
00:53:59 Boss, Tom!
00:54:01 (horse whinnying)
00:54:03 It's after me, boss. There's a great big lion out there.
00:54:06 Grotz, take his...
00:54:08 I ain't gonna stay out there alone.
00:54:10 Take his place.
00:54:12 Well, there was, there was.
00:54:14 A great big lion out there.
00:54:16 Go to bed.
00:54:18 Sure.
00:54:20 You better turn in, too.
00:54:22 It's your turn next.
00:54:24 Well, it was cold out there, too, boss.
00:54:28 It was... it made me bury my coat.
00:54:31 It was cold.
00:54:33 Well, there was a lion out there, too.
00:54:37 I... I'd seen it. It was...
00:54:39 It was following me right up to the house.
00:54:42 It's all right.
00:54:48 (horse whinnying)
00:54:50 (horse whinnying)
00:54:55 (horse whinnying)
00:55:05 (horse whinnying)
00:55:07 What's the matter?
00:55:25 The coyotes stopped howling. They helped to cover the noise.
00:55:28 (horse whinnying)
00:55:31 (grunting)
00:55:33 (horse whinnying)
00:55:43 (horse whinnying)
00:55:49 (snoring)
00:55:52 (horse whinnying)
00:55:54 (snoring)
00:55:57 (snoring)
00:55:59 (horse whinnying)
00:56:06 (birds chirping)
00:56:17 (horse whinnying)
00:56:21 (birds chirping)
00:56:23 (knocking)
00:56:27 I have to feed the stock.
00:56:39 Grotz.
00:56:42 Go with him.
00:56:49 (door opening)
00:56:51 (birds chirping)
00:57:16 Ah, no pitchfork. Use your hands.
00:57:19 (horse whinnying)
00:57:32 (horse whinnying)
00:57:34 (horse whinnying)
00:57:48 (horse whinnying)
00:57:56 (door opening)
00:57:58 (music playing)
00:58:06 What you got?
00:58:23 - It fell out of my pocket. - No, it didn't fell.
00:58:26 - What you got? - I tell you, it fell out of my pocket.
00:58:29 What is it?
00:58:31 Well, it's a letter from my father.
00:58:33 Put that down.
00:58:35 Back up. Move away.
00:58:40 (music playing)
00:59:07 My golly, pretty small letter.
00:59:10 Where you go?
00:59:20 - I gotta water the stock. - They got enough water.
00:59:23 We go back.
00:59:26 (music playing)
00:59:28 (music playing)
00:59:56 - Did you get it? - Shh.
00:59:58 - Did you get the gun? - No.
01:00:12 I didn't have time.
01:00:14 I had one piece of luck, though.
01:00:17 You stay here.
01:00:20 (footsteps)
01:00:22 - Yancey. - Yeah, boss.
01:00:43 Get up on that water tower and watch the road.
01:00:46 - Boss, I just got my... - Come on, come on.
01:00:49 Come on.
01:00:58 (footsteps)
01:01:00 Here's one.
01:01:02 (gunshot)
01:01:24 (footsteps)
01:01:26 - What is it? - It's the knife.
01:01:46 It flipped out.
01:01:52 It's right in the path.
01:01:54 They're bound to see it if they go around that way.
01:01:57 (baby crying)
01:02:05 No!
01:02:17 (baby crying)
01:02:44 - I've gotta take the baby out. - Where?
01:02:46 Where do you think?
01:02:48 (baby crying)
01:02:52 (baby crying)
01:02:54 (baby crying)
01:03:11 (birds chirping)
01:03:13 Just out for a walk, Garci.
01:03:39 Then take one.
01:03:41 Hey. Hey, look what the kid found.
01:03:48 Busted.
01:04:00 Busted, kid.
01:04:02 Wanna see me do a trick, huh?
01:04:05 (footsteps)
01:04:07 (gunshot)
01:04:12 I love kids.
01:04:17 Hey, you wanna see me do it again?
01:04:19 (baby crying)
01:04:21 Come on. You know what simps say.
01:04:24 (birds chirping)
01:04:31 (birds chirping)
01:04:33 Come on. Come on.
01:04:38 (birds chirping)
01:04:41 (grunting)
01:04:51 (grunting)
01:04:53 (grunting)
01:05:16 (grunting)
01:05:18 (clicking)
01:05:46 (clattering)
01:05:48 Tom, they must have heard it.
01:06:14 Well, you might tell your wife it's not easy to hear through that door.
01:06:19 I tried it.
01:06:21 So have we.
01:06:43 Stagecoach will be here in less than an hour, if it's on time.
01:06:46 Come on. Let's saddle up the horses.
01:06:49 Ow!
01:07:05 Here.
01:07:09 Use this.
01:07:12 (grunting)
01:07:14 Not in front of the house. Back of the house.
01:07:19 Yeah, Jim.
01:07:21 Yeah, that one.
01:07:30 (horse whinnies)
01:07:35 (bird cawing)
01:07:40 (bird cawing)
01:08:07 (bird chirping)
01:08:09 You better get back to the door.
01:08:36 No more grots. You've had enough.
01:08:38 Now, look, I want to...
01:08:41 Look, I want to go over everything for the last time.
01:08:45 We can't depend on Yancey. I'm going to leave him where he is.
01:08:48 And...
01:08:50 Are you listening, Tevis?
01:08:53 (glass shatters)
01:08:55 (glass shatters)
01:08:57 (grunting)
01:09:16 (grunting)
01:09:18 (glass shatters)
01:09:32 What is it?
01:09:37 The knife. I broke the knife.
01:09:39 I was afraid that was going to happen.
01:09:42 Sooner or later.
01:09:45 (grunts)
01:09:47 I can't budge it.
01:09:49 Now, Vinnie, see if you can squeeze.
01:09:53 I know.
01:09:55 Wait a minute.
01:09:57 All right.
01:09:59 Get your shoulder down a little bit.
01:10:07 That's right.
01:10:09 Go on.
01:10:14 (whimpering)
01:10:16 I can't.
01:10:43 (whimpering)
01:11:11 Why do you get yourself all worked up?
01:11:14 We've done everything we can.
01:11:16 Digging our hands raw like a couple of rats.
01:11:19 Letting him step all over us, ordering us around.
01:11:22 Mrs. Owens, go along with Tevis and grots.
01:11:25 No, the baby stays here.
01:11:27 Get a move on. Put the baby to bed.
01:11:29 Owens, get out the team.
01:11:31 Follow him. Tevis, grots, keep an eye on him.
01:11:34 Where are you going, Mrs. Owens?
01:11:36 Do this. Do that.
01:11:38 And we did it.
01:11:40 What else could we do? You can't argue with a gun.
01:11:43 And where did it get us?
01:11:45 We're still alive, aren't we?
01:11:47 Yes, we're still alive, and you know what's going to happen just as well as I do.
01:11:50 Well, sure I do.
01:11:52 Any minute now, they're going to take me out there to harness that team.
01:11:55 I'm their bait for a fine ambush, a turkey shoot.
01:11:58 Sure, I know what's going to happen.
01:12:00 Now, what do you want me to do about it?
01:12:02 Say, "I'm sorry, Mr. Zimmerman, I'm not working today"?
01:12:05 Not me. Sure, I took orders.
01:12:07 Sure, I let him walk all over me.
01:12:09 And why? Because I was scared.
01:12:11 Scared stiff.
01:12:13 I'm just like you, sister. I want to live.
01:12:15 I want to live just as long as I can.
01:12:17 Well, all right.
01:12:26 Up to now, we've been Mr. and Mrs., and she's been our kid.
01:12:30 I figured it was a good bargain for both of us.
01:12:33 But from here on out, maybe you can do better on your own.
01:12:37 Oh, what can you lose?
01:12:40 Maybe you better tell the Zimmerman who you are.
01:12:43 All right, Owens.
01:12:47 Just a minute, Zimmerman.
01:12:50 I've got something I want to tell you.
01:12:52 She and I-- No! No.
01:12:55 It was a good bargain.
01:12:57 It's still a good bargain.
01:12:59 Come on, Owens. Kiss her and get it over with.
01:13:05 I'll get the baby.
01:13:07 Help!
01:13:13 Help! Open the door!
01:13:17 Get in this doorway.
01:13:21 And don't leave it.
01:13:23 Come on.
01:13:26 No.
01:13:28 [panting]
01:13:30 [panting]
01:13:32 [panting]
01:13:35 [panting]
01:13:37 [grunting]
01:14:06 [birds chirping]
01:14:08 Grotz, get up there with Yancey.
01:14:18 Yes, sir.
01:14:20 The stage ought to show up any minute now.
01:14:22 Keep out of sight.
01:14:24 Yes, sir.
01:14:26 Now, before you start, Owens, take a look over there.
01:14:30 Take a good look.
01:14:34 He'll watch every move you make.
01:14:36 And if you want to see your wife and child again,
01:14:39 don't make any mistakes.
01:14:41 Now get going.
01:14:43 What kind of a man are you, Zimmerman?
01:14:47 Anybody can see that you're educated,
01:14:49 that you've had a good background.
01:14:52 I can understand the crazy thinking of a road agent
01:14:55 or a trigger-happy renegade,
01:14:57 but how a man could leave a woman and baby alone
01:15:00 with an animal like that,
01:15:02 I just don't understand it.
01:15:04 Do as you're told and nobody will get hurt.
01:15:07 You expect me to believe that?
01:15:09 You have no choice.
01:15:11 Look, let him go now.
01:15:15 Hide out.
01:15:17 Then I'll play your game with you to the hilt.
01:15:19 You can have my word on it.
01:15:21 I swear it.
01:15:23 When you get a little older
01:15:25 and some of the green wears off of you,
01:15:27 you'll learn never to trust anyone with anything.
01:15:30 Now get going.
01:15:32 And don't worry too much about what kind of a man I am.
01:15:36 Just keep your mind on your wife and your kid.
01:15:39 Now come on, let's go.
01:15:58 Callie?
01:16:00 Callie!
01:16:16 Callie!
01:16:27 Callie, come back here!
01:16:30 Callie!
01:16:34 Callie, come back here!
01:16:38 Callie!
01:16:40 Callie!
01:16:42 Callie!
01:16:52 Open the door!
01:16:56 Open the door!
01:16:58 Shut up in there! Shut up!
01:17:00 Open the door!
01:17:02 Shut up!
01:17:04 Shut up!
01:17:06 Shut up!
01:17:24 Shut up!
01:17:26 Shut up!
01:17:28 Shut up!
01:17:39 Tevis!
01:17:42 Have you gone completely loco?
01:17:45 Now wait a minute, Sam.
01:17:47 You don't know what happened.
01:17:50 Don't shoot.
01:17:52 She went haywire.
01:17:54 I couldn't let her run out, could I?
01:17:56 Honest, it ain't my fault, Sam.
01:17:58 I've been wrong.
01:18:00 I admit it.
01:18:02 But from here on, I'm taking your orders.
01:18:04 Take her in there.
01:18:06 Come on.
01:18:08 Come on.
01:18:35 Come on.
01:18:37 Now lock that door.
01:19:04 You killed Sam!
01:19:06 What for you killed Sam?
01:19:08 I'm boss now. From here on, I'm running this show.
01:19:10 You and your...
01:19:12 (gunshot)
01:19:14 (gun cocks)
01:19:16 (gunshot)
01:19:18 (coughs)
01:19:46 (gunshots)
01:19:48 (gunshot)
01:19:57 Yancey!
01:20:06 Yancey!
01:20:08 Keep your gun on him, Yancey!
01:20:10 Where are you, you yellow-bellied horsey?
01:20:12 Yancey, can you hear me?
01:20:15 (gunshot)
01:20:17 (gunshot)
01:20:22 (gunshot)
01:20:24 (gunshot)
01:20:37 (gunshot)
01:20:39 (gunshots)
01:20:42 (gunshots)
01:20:44 (water running)
01:20:47 (gunshots)
01:20:50 (gunshots)
01:20:55 (gunshots)
01:21:00 (gunshots)
01:21:05 (gunshots)
01:21:07 - Kelly!
01:21:23 (gunshots)
01:21:33 (gunshots)
01:21:35 - Stick your head out, it'll cool you off!
01:21:47 (gunshots)
01:21:51 You ain't no shot either, Owens.
01:22:00 Miss me a mile.
01:22:02 (panting)
01:22:05 What's the matter, Owens?
01:22:11 You losing your nerve,
01:22:12 or you running out of ammunition?
01:22:14 - I got enough.
01:22:16 And I got enough to hold you there until the stage comes.
01:22:21 What's the matter, Tevis?
01:22:24 You running out of brave talk?
01:22:27 (car horn honking)
01:22:32 (water running)
01:22:34 You hear that, Tevis?
01:22:36 I'm satisfied to sit it out with you.
01:22:40 - Kelly!
01:22:40 - Blow that thing again.
01:23:00 You don't think we'll have to sit it out?
01:23:03 Look at the gate!
01:23:05 (gunshots)
01:23:14 Tevis!
01:23:16 Thought you had me, didn't you, Owens?
01:23:21 (gunshots)
01:23:24 Tevis!
01:23:26 - Tevis!
01:23:27 (laughing)
01:23:29 - Put down that gun!
01:23:30 Walk towards me with your hands up!
01:23:33 (gunshot)
01:23:38 Kelly!
01:23:40 Stand up and throw down your gun
01:23:47 or my next shot won't miss her!
01:23:50 - That sounded like shooting to me.
01:23:53 (grunting)
01:23:55 - You got three seconds!
01:24:03 One, two.
01:24:04 Ha!
01:24:10 Drop that gun!
01:24:11 That's right.
01:24:15 Just keep her coming.
01:24:18 (car horn honking)
01:24:21 Ha, that's nice!
01:24:32 That's real nice!
01:24:35 Just keep her coming!
01:24:48 Let me see how much guts you got!
01:24:51 Keep her coming!
01:24:56 Keep her coming!
01:24:57 Don't yell at me now!
01:24:59 It ain't but a short piece to where you're going!
01:25:03 (gunshots)
01:25:05 (gunshot)
01:25:14 (screaming)
01:25:17 - What's been going on here, Tom?
01:25:43 - That pot walloper up there came running toward us
01:25:45 with this shoe in his hand.
01:25:46 Says it belongs to you, does it?
01:25:49 - He's an honest man, Jake.
01:25:51 It does.
01:25:52 - Will you tell me what in Jerusalem
01:25:53 you've been doing here?
01:25:55 - Learning the business, Jim.
01:26:00 Just learning the business.
01:26:02 - Yes, sir.
01:26:05 That's it.
01:26:07 The jackass male.
01:26:08 The shortest, fastest, back-breaking,
01:26:12 back-breakingest ride you could buy for $200 gold.
01:26:16 Meals included.
01:26:17 San Francisco to St. Louis in 25 days and 25 nights.
01:26:22 Yes, sir.
