Snowtown accomplice Mark Ray Haydon has interim supervision order imposed

Mark Haydon, an accomplice in the Snowtown murders, will remain under supervision and have his movements monitored even after his 25-year jail sentence concludes next week. The Supreme Court has granted the State Government's application to place Haydon on an "interim supervision order" following the end of his parole, ensuring continued oversight of his activities.

00:17Following an agreement between Hayden's lawyer and the Solicitor General, the Supreme Court
00:21ordered the 65-year-old be placed on an interim supervision order.
00:26Under that order, Hayden will need to adhere to parole-like conditions when he's released
00:30into the community, he'll have to live at a pre-approved address, wear an electronic
00:34monitoring bracelet and be home overnight.
00:37He's also banned from drinking and taking unprescribed drugs, travelling interstate
00:42without permission and speaking to the media.
00:45Hayden was one of four men charged over the Snowtown murders in which 11 people were killed.
00:50While Hayden wasn't found guilty of any of the killings, he was found to be involved
00:55in covering up the crimes and moving the bodies.
00:58Mr Hayden will be subject to these conditions upon release next week while the court decides
01:04on all the expert medical advice whether to make it an extended supervision order.
01:08Within days, Mark Hayden will leave the Adelaide Pre-Release Centre where he's been living
01:13while on parole.

01:20I think they're appreciative of any of the conditions, they're just pleased to have the
01:24interim order to make sure that he's monitored, his transition back to the community is monitored.
01:29Mark Hayden will return to court later this year.
