00:00 While there is still officially a severe thunderstorm watch in effect here
00:03 into parts of the Carolinas, the bigger threat that's developing is taking us into areas around
00:10 the Texas Panhandle, northern and western Oklahoma, now stepping onto a new severe
00:15 thunderstorm watch here. And as we show you the latest there, we're going to be able to show you
00:19 that new watch in just a little bit. But overall, the shape of that here does include a good chunk
00:25 of the northern and central part of Oklahoma and southern sections of Kansas as well. So, Melissa,
00:30 the threat continues into the night here with damaging winds, big time hail, and there is an
00:35 isolated transient tornado threat. But the risk here for these storms is going to be escalating
00:40 a bit tomorrow and on Friday as Houston, which has seen a little break from the recent rain,
00:45 the ongoing river flooding continues and is moving in your way. We're going to add another
00:49 layer. So we still have a lot of those severe weather threats tomorrow, hail, wind, damaging
00:55 hail, damaging wind potential and isolated tornadoes. But we will add the risk for flooding
01:01 as we head through tomorrow because we're going to be going over some of those areas that have had
01:05 just a lot of rainfall as of recently. So as we take you through time here, I just want to show
01:10 you what's going on across some of the southern, actually, sorry, I want to show you what's going
01:15 on across some of the southern U.S. as we continue to deal with basically more and more of some of
01:21 that wet weather across the south. So again, we've had this river flood levels that are in the minor
01:29 to moderate or even major flood stage. So that's where we've been keeping tabs on a lot of that
01:33 wet weather. And as we look across the south, we're still dealing with some of the flooding
01:38 potential here. So we have flash flood watches in place, flood, I should say flood watches in place
01:43 and flood warnings. That's some of those rivers there that are highlighted. So we do know that
01:48 this is going to be a continued problem as we talk about things. So your Thursday, as we start
01:53 things off, showers, thunderstorms still likely in a place like San Antonio towards Houston,
01:57 Dallas, a lot of wet weather out there. That's going to lower some of those numbers. We do have
02:01 severe weather potential, moderate even on the scale from Abilene towards Lake Charles. And
02:07 that's including that isolated tornado threat, hail threat. And then on top of it, as you work
02:13 your way east, there's widespread severe weather threat into Friday. And this is going to include
02:19 not only eastern Texas, but well into well to the east through parts of Alabama and the Florida
02:25 Panhandle. So as we go through time, there's the severe weather nature of the storms, hail,
02:30 wind, flooding, hail, wind and tornadoes. Then we have the flooding threat that's all on top of it.
02:36 And this is actually going to be one of those higher risks as we go throughout time. Here we
02:41 are watching the heavy rainfall breakout tomorrow, especially into the evening hours. Some of those
02:45 areas through eastern Texas, lots of rain possible with these thunderstorms as they continue to slide
02:49 east. And that may not be the end of it because the storm is going to generate more moisture out
02:53 of the Gulf of Mexico. So you can see more of those thunderstorms just kind of firing up,
02:57 sliding their way east and creating more problems. Rainfall accumulations throughout the south,
03:02 places like Texas to places like central Alabama, Selma, Alabama, Montgomery, Alabama.
03:08 It's four to eight inches of rainfall. So it is going to be a soaking time,
03:13 even south that towards the Gulf coast, there's still two to four inches of rain.
