00:00 I'm Conway Gittins reporting from the New York Stock Exchange.
00:02 Here's what we're watching on the street today.
00:05 Stocks saw a nice rally with both the S&P 500 and NASDAQ closing at record highs on
00:12 Wednesday.
00:13 This comes after cooler inflation data.
00:16 Consumer prices rose 3.4% in the month of April from a year ago, down from 3.5% in March
00:22 and in line with analyst estimates.
00:25 This report was welcomed news for investors as they eye interest rate cuts in the near
00:30 future.
00:31 In other news, Uber is trying to make it easier for customers to get to airports, stadiums
00:38 and other live events.
00:39 At the company's 2024 Go Get event, it revealed Uber Shuttle.
00:44 Uber said it will partner with local shuttle companies that will pick riders up and bring
00:48 them to where they need to go.
00:50 The shuttles will have anywhere between 14 and 55 seats and users can reserve up to five
00:56 seats as early as a week before they need to travel.
00:59 The user will then receive a QR code allowing them to track their shuttle within 25 minutes
01:04 of their scheduled pickup.
01:07 And while Uber did not reveal a pricing structure, it said it would be a "fraction of the price
01:12 of a normal Uber ride" and it won't be impacted by surge pricing.
01:18 Uber Shuttle will launch at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium before expanding later this summer.
01:23 The company also announced Uber Caregiver.
01:25 The new feature will allow caregivers to add family members to their profiles.
01:30 This will allow them to book riders or order supplies and groceries for their loved ones.
01:36 The feature will also allow for three-way chats between drivers, riders and caregivers.
01:42 Uber is looking to drum up business after softer demand led to a surprise quarterly
01:46 loss when it reported results a week ago.
01:50 And that'll do it for your daily briefing from the New York Stock Exchange.
01:53 I'm Conway Gittens with the Street.
01:54 Thanks.
