Emil Boc (b. September 6, 1966, cranberry, Cluj) is a Romanian politician. In local elections in 2004, was elected mayor of the municipality of Cluj-Napoca in 2008 and reelected to the post, with 76.2% of the vote.From June 25 2005 is chairman of the Democratic Party and, after merging with PLD , chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party resulting from this merger. Emil Boc is one of the promoters of the popular doctrine. Following desemării as prime minister, who forms the Government Boc received investiture vote in Parliament and sworn in before President Traian Băsescu 22 December 2008.
He is married with Oana Boc, lecturer PhD at the Faculty of Letters in Cluj.
