01:05the salary you can get abroad is higher.

01:0952% of the Filipino Gen Z

01:11are saying that they want to go abroad to work.

01:15It's based on a study by a health insurance provider.

01:19According to the study,

01:21most of the Gen Z were born in 1997-2015

01:26who want to experience new culture and personal growth

01:29that will increase their competitiveness

01:32and marketability in the global job market.

01:35Gen Z are considered to be fully digitally native

01:39because they grew up in the world of social media and smartphones.

01:43A clinical psychologist, Rainier Ladik, explains

01:46Since Gen Z is one of the generation

01:49that experienced technological advancement,

01:52it's easy to get information

01:55and see what is life outside of our country.

01:59Their personality of openness to new experiences of Gen Z

02:03motivates them to try something new.

02:07There are also economic reasons

02:09why Gen Z want to work abroad.

02:12They are looking for better-paying jobs

02:15because of the continuous increase in prices

02:18and not the increase in wages.

02:20It was also found in the study

02:22that more Gen Z are choosing to work independently.

02:26It gives pressure and anxiety to the Filipino Gen Z

02:30if they are working as a group or a team.

02:33The mere fact that their work will be observed and evaluated

02:38so they feel all the more anxious working with groups.

02:42Working in groups may not show the skills they have

02:45because what they see is always in groups.

02:48Gen Z also want to maximize their freedom.

02:52This includes the feeling that they can direct themselves

02:56and they could achieve this by working independently.
