00:10 The first professional 9-goal title was won by a Hong Kong-based Filipino pool player, Robbie Capito.

00:22 The Polish Q-artist, Mesko Fortunsky, won the race to 13 match that ended in a 13-10 score to advance to the 2024 UK Open Pool Championship.

00:35 At the start of the game, Fortunsky was able to post a 3-racks to 1 lead.

00:42 But Capito was sure that he would not be left behind and the game was already tied.

00:47 From the 4-all, Capito led the momentum and won 4-4 against Fortunsky.

00:54 Fortunsky was able to catch up and attack the 11-10 score.

00:59 But the 22-year-old Q-master won 2 consecutive racks to get a clean sweep of the championship.

01:10 Before this tournament, I've been in the Philippines, just training.

01:15 My dad passed away when I was very young.

01:19 He brought me into this sport.

01:21 I never let him see me get the trophy.

01:26 So I just hope that he's proud of me up there.

01:30 And also my friends and family that support me.

01:36 According to Capito, he hopes that after this victory,

01:40 the support of the Hong Kong government will return to their sport.

01:46 Because our support is going to be...

01:48 The support funds from the government is going to be cut by almost 90%.

01:54 So we have to rely on maybe working another job or just rely on the prize money.
