00:00 Hi I'm PC Leothra attached to the dog section in Nottinghamshire Police and this is police dog Russo.
00:05 So PD Russo was found walking the streets of Heathrow in London and he was placed in a rescue
00:13 centre down south where he was chosen to come on an initial few weeks assessment with Nottinghamshire
00:20 Police. It looked good enough and we've done an eight-week course and he's passed as a licensed
00:25 police dog today. So over the last eight weeks we've implemented obedience from the sit to the
00:31 down to the stand, agility work which is jumping over the fences, long jumps to criminal work where
00:39 he'll be sent to catch a criminal by the bite. Also stand out if somebody doesn't run out the
00:44 dog will stop and indicate on the person. Building searches we've taught the dog to track over
00:51 numerous miles he'll track to possible offenders that ran off from the incidents. It's been an
00:56 interesting eight weeks and it's picked you up really well. It's a real privilege to work with
01:00 police dog Russo. It's been an interesting eight weeks I've learned a lot as much as Russo has
01:05 learned a lot and I'm looking forward to starting a shift tomorrow on and afters and seeing what we
01:10 can achieve together as a team.
