OpenAI to Launch AI-Powered Search Product, Aiming to Rival Google Search

OpenAI plans to announce a new AI-powered search product on Monday that will compete with Google Search. The announcement date could be timed the day before Google's annual I/O conference, where it will unveil new AI products. OpenAI's search is an extension of its ChatGPT chatbot and will allow it to search the web directly and include citations. This would help ChatGPT provide more accurate and real-time information beyond its current integration with Bing. OpenAI has struggled to expand ChatGPT's user base beyond its peak of 100 million users last year.
