00:27 Well it's one of those bittersweet moments where we're marking a point in history
00:32 when Great Victoria Street Station eventually closes for the final time tonight.
00:37 This station itself has been here about 30 years but there has been a Great Victoria Street Station
00:42 going back to the mid-1800s so there is a lot of history in this area.
00:46 But at the same token we're making way for a brand new station which is
00:50 Transform, public transport in Northern Ireland.
00:52 Why has this station become inadequate? Why do they need to replace it?
00:56 Well this station for a lot of reasons, I mean it's quite compact from a passenger point of view.
01:01 Getting through the top of the station here into the main concourse is quite small.
01:06 We've tried to do our best to integrate it with bus whereas the new station would have a completely integrated concourse.
01:12 It will allow for twice the number of passenger journeys that we have at the minute
01:16 and also extend the platform to four platforms, the eighth platform.
01:20 It will also enable us to bring the Enterprise in here, there just isn't enough room for the Enterprise.
01:24 This will allow the original Great Victoria Street Station that used to have the Belfast to Dublin connection
01:29 will be bringing it up back again.
