The horse trapped on a roof due to flooding in Canoas, south of Brazil, was finally rescued by a joint team of firefighters and veterinarians on Thursday (May 9).

The horse had been at the place for at least 24 hours.

It was initially thought that a helicopter would be used to rescue him, but he was eventually tranquilised and brought ashore by boat.
