00:00 The internet's latest boyfriend, Nicholas Galatine, is opening up about his sexuality
00:04 and feeling conflicted over certain roles that have shot him to fame.
00:07 The 29-year-old told British GQ that while he identifies as straight,
00:13 taking on some roles within queer stories has left him with a sense of, quote, "perhaps guilt."
00:18 In the last few years, Galatine has starred as Prince Henry in Amazon Prime's gay romance,
00:23 Red, White & Royal Blue, as well as in Sky Originals' queer period drama, Mary & George.
00:28 "I identify as a straight man, but I have been a part of some incredible queer stories.
00:32 I felt a sense of uncertainty sometimes about whether I'm taking up someone's space
00:36 and perhaps guilt. At the same time, I see those characters as not solely their sexuality."
00:41 Galatine stressed an intention to separate himself from the parts he's taken on.
00:46 "I am Nick, and I'm not my role."
00:48 The actor also spoke about his relatively raunchy character career so far,
00:52 including on the recently released The Idea of You, in which he stars as an uber-famous
00:57 boyband member who falls for an older art gallery owner, played by Anne Hathaway.
01:01 "You don't see any bare-body parts. You don't get thrusting.
01:04 Hayes is kind of worshipping her. That aftercare scene was so sexy. Someone asked me once when I
01:09 feel most loving. Not to be too crass, but it can sometimes be after sex, because that's when you
01:14 shed all your vulnerabilities." Galatine also touched on feeling
01:18 constantly terrified of being objectified as his career ramps up.
01:22 "I'm not gonna ask you to cry me a river here, but it's been difficult being part of a conversation
01:26 that feels very much like I'm a cut of beef at a meat market. I think that being my defining
01:30 feature is something I'm constantly terrified of." For more on this story, head to THR.com.
