00:06As part of the back-and-forth exercises, the AFP responded to a phone recording

00:11between Westcom and a Chinese diplomat.

00:14It's easy to invent.

00:21Using the NC-212I cargo plane,

00:24the Philippine Air Force dropped supplies of food and other essential goods

00:28to the soldiers guarding Patag Island in the West Philippine Sea.

00:32In the pictures from the AFP Western Command,

00:35you can see how the box attached to a parachute was dropped.

00:39Patag Island is one of the shantytowns and islands

00:43with military outposts in the Philippines

00:45within the exclusive economic zone of the country.

00:47On April 27, the airdrop was conducted

00:49as part of the exercise of the U.S.-Philippines 2024 Balikatan Military Exercises

00:55in the Canlurang Karagatan ng Palawan.

00:58According to the AFP, the airdrop,

01:00aside from the ongoing raw remissions using the resupply ships of the Philippine Navy,

01:05We saw an opportunity to invent this in the Balikatan exercises as sort of a training.

01:11The National Security Council said that the airdrop

01:14is one of the alternative studies of resupply missions by ships.

01:20It is so that such missions are not put in danger

01:24in the middle of the Chinese ships' barricades and water cannons.

01:30the Chinese Embassy spread a phone conversation

01:35between the AFP Western Command

01:46In a statement, the AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Browner said

01:50that it is easy to invent transcripts and audio recordings using the latest technology.

01:56China is doing it just for fun

01:59with the aggressive moves of the China Coast Guard in the West Philippine Sea.

02:03But internal protocols are being followed when it comes to such talks.

02:34The DFA called it a false narrative

02:37or not a true story, the so-called agreement of China

02:41and everyone is being careful in believing in this.

02:45This tactic of releasing unconfirmed recordings

02:49is showing signs of fighting and confusion.

02:53In a statement, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said

02:57that the continued rejection of the Philippines that has an agreement with China

03:01is only damaging its credibility

03:04and will jeopardize the peace in the South China Sea.

03:08If it is true that the Chinese Embassy made a phone recording,

03:11former Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio said,

03:15it is a violation of the law of the country and the Vienna Convention.

03:19The Vienna Convention requires foreign diplomats in the Philippines

03:23to follow Philippine law.

03:26They cannot violate Philippine law.

03:29Now, if they violate, they may be immune from prosecution,

03:34but that's a ground to expel them.
