Supermarket Sweep (S1, Ep 43 - Nov 3rd 1993)

Today's happy shoppers are Cleve & Steph from Birmingham, Darren & Bob from Hull, and Carol & Simon from Manchester in an episode where there are more men than women in a first for Supermarket Sweep. Dale Winton hosts and starts off by asking one team "So which prison have you come from then?" in a startling opening. But don't worry - they are prison officers (I hope!) whose ambitions are to be filthy rich (bank robbery?). Out of the other teams, one has ambitions to be Sean Connery (much to his wife's hysterics) while on the other team one has an aversion to shopping! That'll be interesting come the Super Sweep, then. Despite one team taking an early lead in the quiz rounds, the other teams rally considerably to make it very interesting for the Super Sweep. But who will prevail to earn the right to go for the big cash prize, and could a points penalty sway the result at the points total?
