00:14 to know this is the newest boat of our fleet. It arrived here just a few weeks

00:25 Here's one cabin, rear cabin. On your journey to Braunston you will come
00:34 across the first of a series of seven locks which will take you uphill into a
00:40 village called Long Buckby. These are the windlasses that you use for winding
00:45 the paddles up and down to let the water in or out of the locks. If you go through
00:49 a tunnel you will need to put your headlight on. You can adjust that as you
00:55 need to. Under my feet is a water tank which holds quite a lot of fresh water
01:01 but it won't be enough to last you all the time. I would suggest that probably
01:06 at least every other day, if you don't want to do it every day, that you stop
01:10 sometime on a water point and just top up your water tank. Wherever you stop
01:15 they're the best things to use. Otherwise you can use these mooring hooks as
01:21 they're called. We have a lot of first-timers who come through. For the
01:25 majority of the canal the water isn't very deep. Because it was all dug by hand
01:30 and these are flat-button boats they don't need much water. Have a wonderful
01:34 time.
