Russian Agents Caught in Plot to Assassinate President Zelenskyy, Meant to be a 'Gift' to Putin for 5th Inauguration

Ukraine's security service says it has arrested several Russian agents who were plotting to assassinate President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other Ukrainian government officials. The alleged plot involved the Russian recruitment of two colonels within Ukraine's State Guard service, which protects top officials. The SBU claims the planned assassination was meant as a "gift" for Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of his inauguration to a fifth term on May 7th. Zelenskyy has said there have been at least 10 previous attempts to assassinate him since Russia's invasion began in February 2022.
