00:00I'm glad that you brought that up, because full disclosure, as a Commanders fan, I paid
00:06close attention to what they did in the draft.
00:09It seems to be a clean slate here, but I'd like to get your thoughts on Daniels and the
00:15Commanders overall.
00:17Jane Daniels, I think, has a higher fantasy upside this year than Caleb Williams.
00:21That might surprise a lot of people, but if things break right for him, I think you could
00:26carve that out.
00:27And the reason is the rushing ability.
00:30So they have him right now as somebody who is QB 18, 595 rushing yards.
00:36If that number jumps from 6 to 700, and those rushing TDs jump from 5 to 9, which is not
00:42absurd, or even 8, we could be looking at something very different.
00:46Because Caleb Williams is only, you know, right now projected as 100 more passing yards
00:52than Jane Daniels.
00:54He's got stuff to work with.
00:56Terrible core and very talented player.
00:57I think Eric Hall, in a tight end position, is somebody that people should really be paying
01:02attention to, because that's a guy you get in the fifth round of a Dynasty rookie draft,
01:06and I think he's going to play.
01:07He had a terrific showing in Iowa before he got hurt.
01:10So that's a guy that's flying very much under the radar there.
01:14So all of a sudden, the Commanders have set themselves up in a really good situation.
01:17Daniels is going to be the week one starter.
01:18I think there's no doubt about that whatsoever.
01:21But because of the rushing ability, he offers more upside, I think, in year one than Caleb
01:25Williams from a fantasy perspective.
01:27I'm not saying he might be a better quarterback, necessarily, but we're talking about fantasy
01:31points.
01:32With a quarterback who can use legs, it's very important.
01:33Now, two other assets to consider.
01:36Drake May right now is a QB 30.
01:38I think that's a holding pattern right now where you're waiting for him to be announced
01:42as the starter at some point, which it would make sense to just do that.
01:46Take the Band-Aid off.
01:47Let him start from day one.
01:49Let's start things over.
01:50I know they brought back Percet, and Percet's a very capable quarterback.
01:53I think there's a lot of other organizations that should have brought him in.
01:56But instead, he's with the Patriots.
01:58Maybe he'll start the first month of the season, and then Drake May will take over.
02:01We'll see.
02:02That would hurt him in terms of his abilities to produce in fantasy.
02:06But he's an interesting super flex pick, because at some point, he is going to play the most
02:09games a quarterback this year for the Patriots, barring injury.
02:122,600 passing yards is a projection.
02:15That's telling you they expect him to sit four to six weeks for now.
02:18That could change with a really good training camp.
02:21He has some things to work on.
02:22The footwork is the one of them, but footwork is something you can work on and fix.
02:26Arm strength, swagger, all the stuff that Drake May has, you can't teach.
02:31So he's got that in spades, and I think he's going to be a good quarterback.
02:33It might take a little bit longer.
02:35And then there's J.J. McCarthy, another guy who might sit behind Sam Darnall for a few
02:38weeks, and that's baked into these projections, too.
02:403,300 passing yards, QB 26.
02:43Why people are more excited about J.J. McCarthy over Drake May is one clear answer, which
02:49is Justin Jefferson.
02:50When you have Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and hopefully a healthy returning T.J. Hawkinson
02:56at some point, J.J. McCarthy has a lot of fantasy upside.
02:59So this is a fascinating year.
03:01Last year, I was warning everybody, super flex leads are going to be tough.
03:03A lot of rookie quarterbacks, second-year quarterbacks, guys that didn't have a lot
03:06of talent who were starting.
03:07And then the incredible amount of injuries where 70-plus guys started at quarterback
03:11last year.
03:12It's a lot.
03:13Now, J.J. McCarthy, Drake May, there are some options late, not to mention Daniels and Williams
03:19in the middle.
03:20So quarterback is healthy and fancy.
