Stuart Jeffery, Green Party leader, speaks from the Maidstone count
Transcript
00:00We've done fantastically well. We've gone from three green councillors to ten.
00:05We work closely with some green-minded independent councillors, so we have a
00:10green and independent group on the council. We've got four of those as well.
00:13So we've got a group of 14, a political grouping of 14, which I believe makes us the
00:18biggest group on the council, which is fantastic.
00:23Does that mean that you'll be leader then?
00:26Well, there'll be some negotiations this weekend, next week. We can't run the council on our own,
00:32so we will be working with another group or two. We don't know what that might look like.
00:39But in theory, that should make me leader of the council.
