00:00 Okay, I hate to break it to you guys, but I just don't want a false narrative out there.
00:06 Nia Su is not interested in rehashing her days at Abby Lee Miller's dance studio.
00:12 That's why the Dance Moms alum did not join her former co-stars JoJo Brooke, Paige, Kehlani,
00:18 Kendall and Khloe in the new Lifetime documentary special Dance Moms The Reunion.
00:24 Nia explains in an April 30th video on TikTok.
00:27 Okay, I hate to break it to you guys, but the reason is quite simple.
00:35 I just really didn't want to do it.
00:37 Yeah, it's pretty plain and simple.
00:39 I just didn't want to do it.
00:42 Some people think it was because I had sorority stuff.
00:44 Nope, I didn't.
00:46 Some people think it's because I'm in school.
00:49 I am in school, but it wouldn't have been an issue.
00:51 I just don't want to do it.
00:54 And that's a good enough answer and that's a good enough reason.
00:58 While Nia decided not to participate in the reunion, she still appreciates how much the
01:03 reality show changed her life's trajectory.
01:06 Any interview I've done, when someone has asked me about the show, I always say that
01:10 I'm grateful for it.
01:11 It's where I came from.
01:12 It's how I got my stars.
01:13 The reason why I have such an amazing life now.
01:17 Truly, I love my life.
01:19 I have a fabulous life and I'm truly enjoying it.
01:24 She also sets the record straight on where she stands with her fellow dancers these days.
01:29 I love the girls and I'm really happy for them.
01:33 I'm really happy that they get to share how they felt or their experiences.
01:39 But that's just something that I decided I didn't want to do.
01:42 And that's okay.
01:44 Her Dance Moms co-stars shared the same sentiment in an exclusive interview with E! News when
01:49 asked about the other girls who opted to skip the reunion.
01:53 I just feel like there were so many mixed emotions going into it.
01:56 I know you said you were automatically a yes, but I feel like for people from the original
02:00 team, we went through so much.
02:02 So it definitely took a little bit for me to process if I wanted to do it or not.
02:07 So I understand why not everyone wanted to because it's hard getting back into it and
02:11 dealing with this stuff.
02:12 I think I was really hesitant at first.
02:14 I was like, I don't even know if I'm ready for this.
02:17 And then honestly, I really reflected and I thought it's a really good way to say, to
02:20 close that chapter of my life and give my appreciation, show my gratitude to it, reminisce.
02:25 I mean, these are my closest friends.
02:28 Like we're sisters.
02:29 It's like an extended family.
02:30 And I just wanted to have that moment all together.
02:32 And now I just graduated.
02:34 We had that moment and now I'm like, okay, it's a new adventure.
02:36 So, you know, I think for all of us, I mean, I don't want to speak for everyone, but it
02:40 feels like a good, yeah, good closure.
02:41 It was very therapeutic.
02:42 Like, yeah, we cried like every segment.
02:43 Yeah.
02:44 There's a lot of tears, but also a lot of laughter.
02:45 Yeah, no, I think it was really fun for all of us to get back together and I feel like
02:53 it made us even closer now than we were before.
02:58 And I think of course we would love to have everybody there, but everybody makes their
03:02 own decision.
03:03 And, you know, I'm happy that we chose ourselves that we wanted to be there and, you know,
03:07 everybody can make their own choice and we chose to be here and there's nothing wrong
03:10 either way.
03:11 Yeah.
03:11 [inaudible].
