A CAR dealership has taken speed to the next level - by modifying high-performance sports cars like this incredible McLaren 720s. The supercars at Wheels Boutique, Miami have record-breaking speeds, all down to their expert modifications. Owner and car modifier Alejandro Enrique told FutureStudiosCars: “We had the record for the longest time for the fastest McLaren in the world. Miami has a huge market for super cars. There's a lot of people who own them and there's a lot of people who modify them. So, it just attracts us as our business to do a lot of supercars.” The car enthusiasts at Wheels Boutique have been improving high end sports cars and supercars since 1999. Most of their work focuses on mounting high performance wheels, high speed balancing and suspension upgrades. But with this McLaren 720s they went that little bit further, teaming up with Pure Turbos to make one of the fastest cars in the world - even faster. The $300,000 car has a top speed of 270 MPH and can do a quarter mile in 8.9 seconds – almost a whole second faster than the factory model.

00:00 Just looking at it you can tell it's something that's not ordinary from what you see every day.
00:04 Technology is way advanced.
00:06 This is a big turbo, highly modified car.
00:09 We wanted to push it as far as we could, continue to evolve them every day.
00:15 It's another level.
00:28 Sometimes a standard supercar just isn't super enough.
00:33 In a world where every microsecond counts, modifications are everything.
00:39 And Wheels Boutique in Miami have record breaking form.
00:43 We had the record for the longest time for the fastest McLaren in the world.
00:46 Miami has a huge market for supercars.
00:48 We just love them, we love playing with them. They're such great cars.
00:50 And why not, if you can.
00:54 Here we have our purple 720S. This is a big turbo, highly modified car, ready to race.
00:59 Technology is way advanced.
01:01 Just looking at it you can tell it's something that's not ordinary from what you see every day.
01:04 Powered by a twin turbo charged V8 engine, this $300,000 McLaren has a top speed of 270 miles per hour.
01:14 When you get the opportunity to get a car like this and really start messing with it and changing things here and there and testing them out,
01:21 it's another level of a supercar. And that's what we like to do.
01:25 The car was lowered about an inch from factory.
01:29 And this has our Anarchy three piece wheel.
01:31 This is what helps you achieve the speed on the track.
01:34 Mickey Thompson 19 inch tire with an HRE R101 lightweight.
01:38 This is a very light wheel.
01:40 Then you have your Novitec exhaust, which sticks out a little bit farther out than your factory.
01:45 It allows better air flow for the car.
01:47 We matched the orange striping to match the interior.
01:49 We did the turbos, the full exhaust.
01:51 We did the engine management.
01:53 We did filters.
01:54 The amazing thing about these cars are great out of the box.
01:57 So with minor little changes, they actually become spectacular.
02:01 And today this car is being put through its paces.
02:04 How fast can it go over a quarter of a mile?
02:07 The weather is not ideal today.
02:09 It's a little hot in Florida, but this car should technically run 990 quarter mile to an 899 quarter mile.
02:16 The McLaren's unfortunately can't do a burnout like most cars.
02:19 So there's no way to get the tires hot.
02:21 So we utilize the tire warmers to get the tires up to temperature.
02:24 It goes up to 160 degrees so we can go straight to the strip and make a good pass.
02:28 Hot tires means sticky. Sticky means fast down the track.
02:31 You look at the factory cars, people who test them out have done 950s, 940s.
02:36 We have actually ran an 897.
02:38 And numbers like these take some serious engine tweaks.
02:42 We've actually taken this car and taken it from the factory makes 700 horsepower to the wheels to 980 horsepower to the wheels.
02:50 So you're adding 280 more horsepower than it comes with.
02:53 When you're already at 700 to get to 900, it takes a lot to get there.
02:56 That's almost half a second faster than a factory one.
02:58 When you put it in speed, it's a lot of speed.
03:00 We love the car and then we wanted to push it as far as we could.
03:03 And then we are continuing to evolve them every day.
03:05 Something new comes out, we find out a new trick, we do stuff like that.
03:08 So it's never ending evolving with these cars.
03:10 Tires are optimum temperature.
03:12 Time to see what this baby can do.
03:16 [Music]
03:43 The car ran a 9489 at 150 miles per hour.
03:46 The car was quick tonight, but not as fast as it normally is.
03:49 The weather is not favorable for us tonight.
03:51 It's almost 98 degrees in sunny Florida.
03:53 Definitely it's a better car to see when the weather is cold.
03:56 But for the temperatures and 1800 DA, it was actually pretty good running tonight.
03:59 So if you're planning to take your McLaren into the record books, these are the guys to beat.
