Gareth McNab says new voter ID laws are discriminatory
Transcript
00:00I'm stood in my polling station having attended to vote. I don't have ID to present and I'm
00:09being refused my right to vote that I had until it was unjustly and unnecessarily moved
00:14by this government. I'm refusing to leave until I'm allowed to vote. I am being civil
00:22and courteous and not obstructing anybody else's right to vote. But even as I stand
00:25here there are people struggling to be able to vote because of this unjust and unnecessary
00:30change in the law. It's disproportionately impacting people on low incomes, people of
00:35colour, people with disabilities, young people who've never voted before. It's ageist, classist,
00:40racist and ableist. It's unnecessary and it's unjust and right-thinking people everywhere
00:47will want to challenge and resist unjust and unnecessary laws.
