Laser Tech To Give China’s Submarines Stealth-Speed Breakthrough? Western Experts Doubtful

  • last month
A team of Chinese scientists claimed to have found a way to make submarines almost silent and ultrafast. Researchers at China's Harbin University said they have found a way to use lasers to propel submarines. The technology is called “underwater fibre laser-induced plasma detonation wave propulsion”. According to the scientists, submarines could be coated in a web of minuscule optical fibres that emit laser pulses. Watch the video to find out more.
