00:00 A couple of months ago I tried the Beastie Burger Challenge at Sarah's place and unfortunately failed.
00:04 So today I've come to Slice in Sunderland where I'm going to be taking on their 24-inch pizza challenge.
00:09 Again I've been doing my preparations, I've been at my bike this week to burn off some of the
00:13 calories I've put on. I've not eaten since last night so I'm certainly getting very hungry
00:18 and whether I can take on a 24-inch pizza or not, well maybe time will tell. So it's time to go in and get
00:23 eating and hopefully I'm not putting off more than that too.
00:26 We've got a shop in Seaham, the original shop, and we sell it by the slice, pizzas by the slice.
00:30 And we had a few of the big lads come up and say "I could smash that whole pizza"
00:34 and had that a few times and then we said "well do you want to try it?" and that's where the first
00:40 challenge came about. So we had about nine people that did the first challenge and one mastered it.
00:46 And since then what's the success rate been like?
00:51 I've done three or four challenges now I'd say about 20% success rate. So a lot of people tap out
00:58 about after five or six slices.
01:00 Is there a strategy?
01:01 I've seen many strategies, some people kind of fold them up on top of each other like sandwich,
01:06 some roll, some do crust first, some are flushing it down with water but I think
01:11 whatever works for you.
01:14 Right so strategy for today with the Beastie Burger challenge I think I went off too quickly
01:18 and so I ended up really struggling in the second half. You do get more time to cover this one
01:22 and I'm also going to go for a Margherita pizza which is the basic and plain and simple one.
01:28 Apparently only five could have done this before and they all had Margherita so I think that's a
01:31 sensible choice. But obviously 24 inches not sure if I'll be able to do it but we'll just have to
01:37 wait and see.
01:37 Right I think I've gone for a bit of a changing strategy here so I was going to go for all
01:41 Margherita and that's got the highest success rate but just thinking about it a balance up you
01:46 know sort of not eating the same thing all the time and what I find the most appetising. Pepperoni
01:50 is my favourite so I'm going to go half pepperoni and half Margherita.
01:54 Oven's 500 degrees so nice and hot, take maybe three four minutes to do.

03:08 So that's due to the pizza all right but these crusts are going to be a problem.

03:15 Yeah it's a balance to see if you're trying as much now as quick as you can before your
03:19 body starts rejecting it or you pierce yourself and you don't get that situation.
03:25 My stomach's starting to say wait more pizza, you've had more pizza.
03:31 I was wondering how many time I've got me bite to burn this off.

04:09 beastie burger challenge but it's proven quite similar.
04:13 You get to a certain point whenever you're eating you get to a certain point your body starts um

04:20 There's a time when I just pushed through and kept going.
04:25 I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to do it.

06:10 So to keep going I wouldn't be making myself ill.
06:12 I'd say I've got through two thirds maybe three quarters of the push but.
06:17 There's no I was gonna get through those crusts nowhere.
06:20 And uh what do you got the point was there.
06:22 Just say enough is enough.
06:25 That's two eating challenges I've done now mine failed on two occasions.
06:28 I think it's maybe time to hand over to a new report on these food challenges.
06:33 so I gave it my best shot but the pizza beat us.
