ಹಾಸನ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ಮಾಜಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್‌ ವರಿಷ್ಠರಾದ ಹೆಚ್‌ ಡಿ ದೇವೇಗೌಡ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠೆಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ. ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗೌಡರಿಗೆ ಹೆಸರು, ಉಸಿರು ಕೊಟ್ಟಂತಾಹ ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಿಂದಲೇ..ಆದರೆ, ಹಾಸನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಿಂದಲೇ ಗೌಡರ ಕುಟುಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಂತರಿಕ ಕಲಹಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಹೊತ್ತಲಿ ಪಕ್ಷದ ನೆಲೆ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಹೊತ್ತಲೇ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ದೇವೇಗೌಡರ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸಿಲುಕಿದೆ.

Hassan district is a constituency of prestige for HD Deve Gowda, former Prime Minister and JD(S) chief. It is from this constituency that gave name and breath to Dodda Gowda..
