00:00 We'll start with Liverpool and look at the aims for the new campaign.
00:05 Obviously Arnie Slott will be coming in to replace Jürgen Klopp.
00:08 It's been spoke about, obviously not fully confirmed by the club yet.
00:11 But looking at this new sort of era,
00:14 you know, coming off the back of such a historic one with Jürgen Klopp,
00:17 what are their aims for the new campaign?
00:20 How can you see that sort of going?
00:22 It's a difficult one, really, because on the back of this campaign,
00:25 you'd be looking Liverpool back in the Champions League.
00:28 Now they'll be looking to challenge again if Jürgen Klopp is in charge.
00:32 But is it going to be a season of transition?
00:35 Well, I don't think that Poole maybe can afford that,
00:38 because this was supposed to be the transitional season
00:41 where they overhauled the midfield and brought in new players.
00:47 And they had to get the ideas across and said all along
00:50 that the Champions League would be the main aim.
00:52 And probably Poole have overachieved, have been in the title race for so long.
00:56 But the Buffs fans, they'll be wanting to get back
01:00 towards challenging for the title, ultimately, and for major honours.
01:04 I mean, third place in the Carabao Cup is a decent enough season,
01:07 but Liverpool, you know, they've seen Liverpool challenging for the Premier League,
01:11 going toe-to-toe with Man City, and they're seeing Arsenal do it now,
01:15 and they'll be thinking, "Can we get back into that position again?"
01:19 But it's going to take Arnie Slott a little bit of time to get his methods across.
01:23 Of course it is, it happens with every manager.
01:26 He's going to want to tweak a couple of things the way he wants to play.
01:30 Of course he will, that's just natural.
01:33 So how long is that going to take?
01:35 And, you know, will Liverpool have a difficult start to the season?
01:38 Going to be making up ground maybe?
01:40 And can they afford to do that?
01:43 Ultimately, I mean, look, Michael Edwards, you know,
01:45 the CEO of football for FSG, an incumbent sporting director,
01:49 if you choose, and FSG themselves will be laying down Arnie Slott's aims
01:55 before the start of the season or when he's coming in,
01:58 saying, "Year one, year two, year three," or even year one,
02:01 and then after that, you expect them to challenge for everything,
02:06 like Jürgen Klopp has, because Liverpool can't really afford to slump back into a team
02:12 that maybe the top four is the aim every season, and that's about it.
02:17 They might challenge for a domestic piece of silverware.
02:20 They need to stay at the top level, really,
02:24 because that's what Jürgen Klopp's built,
02:27 and Liverpool won't be wanting to go back to the daddy era of Hodgson,
02:32 Brendan Rodgers, you know, they're at the top of the European ladder now,
02:38 and they won't want to lose the position.
