00:12 some groups called for their wages to be increased.

00:16 From P. Noval Street in España Boulevard in Manila,

00:21 the movement "Mayo Uno" marched to Morayta.

00:25 They called for a 150 pesos increase in their wages.

00:30 On Recto Avenue, workers for People's Liberation

00:35 called for the government to join them.

00:36 Aside from increasing wages,

00:38 they also asked for the prices of goods and free housing to be lowered.

00:42 But in their march to Mendiola,

00:48 they were stopped by the police in Maymorayta.

00:51 Several groups in other parts of Manila were stopped by the police.

00:55 Around 8.30 a.m.,

00:57 several groups were called to Recto Avenue

01:01 to join the various groups of workers.
