U.S. Officials Accuse China of Distorting U.N. Resolution for Geopolitical Gain

The U.N. passed Resolution 2758 in 1971, recognizing the People’s Republic of China in Beijing as the U.N.’s legitimate representative of China over Taipei. Now U.S. officials say Beijing is distorting that resolution to claim Taiwan as a part of China.
