Crawley Town Season ticket holders and CTSA members were able to buy their tickets for Monday’s League Two play-off semi-final first leg tie against MK Dons today – and some queued for two hours to make the purchase. Reds will face the Dons on Monday, May 6 at 3pm before travelling to Milton Keynes on Thursday (8pm kick off). And fans could not wait to get their hands on the tickets for the club’s first ever play-off game, which is expected to be a sell-out. And if the Reds win over the two legs, it will result in their first ever trip to Wembley on Sunday, May 19.

00:00 Fantastic to have reached it, you know, it was such an interesting mixture of mathematics
00:08 on that last day of the Grimsby game.
00:10 You know, probably seven other games that had an impact on what we were going to do,
00:14 where we were going to end up.
00:15 So yeah, it was a very exciting game.
00:16 A bit nervy, the first 20 minutes, we could have easily been behind, couldn't they?
00:20 And Grimsby missed a couple of sitters and you think, oh no, and then we just seemed
00:25 to calm down and play our best stuff and two good goals.
00:28 Here we are, it's like, it's a tough one, isn't it?
00:33 I think a lot of people, like myself, probably glad we haven't got dogs to straight away.
00:37 I mean, MK Don's came down from League One last year, I think, so they've got a decent
00:42 squad.
00:43 It's going to be tough, but it's a cup game.
00:45 I think Scott Lindsay would probably say, treat it as a cup game.
00:48 We were lucky to get this far, but we deserve it.
00:51 What's to fear now?
00:52 It's a two-leg final, give it a go.
00:55 Yeah, stability as well, because last year, five managers, everyone's on Wagme's case,
01:03 but there was a lot of background stuff that made it ridiculously hard last year.
01:09 But yeah, he's just come in and he seems to have worked well with the people that are
01:13 running the club behind the scenes.
01:14 He's just that sort of guy that, again, like everyone, sometimes you're frustrated that
01:19 we're playing out from the back and committing virtual suicide and then we're getting picked
01:22 off and people are scoring goals, because there's only one way.
01:26 Like he says, if plan A fails, you just do it better.
01:29 But yeah, the development of the players, the coaching, it's clear to see, because he's
01:34 brought on some of those young guys.
01:35 They've had more and more game time as the season's gone on.
01:37 Lollos' case in point, he started off as a bit of a super sub, gradually got more and
01:42 more game time, and now you can't imagine the team starting without him.
01:45 The ball's tied to his boot, he just runs the ball into the net.
01:48 It's incredible.
01:49 Absolutely.
01:50 Would you give GQ for a ticket to go and see Mo Wembley?
01:53 That's an interesting question.
01:54 I think I'd bring more provisions with me.
01:58 A long time, 1970, when I was a little tiny boy and went along to, I think it was one
02:04 of the FA Cup games, my dad took me along and friends and stuff and just got the bug.
02:09 Oh, fair enough.
02:10 I'm a town mead guy.
02:11 In fact, on the wall, there's a little plaque there that says 'Living the Dream, Non-League
02:18 to Football League'.
02:19 Oh, brilliant.
02:20 Because that sums it up really.
02:21 And then my son has followed me and he's a fan as well.
02:25 So we watch it together, which is nice.
02:27 And where does this rank in seasons that you follow?
02:29 One of the more interesting ones?
02:30 It's definitely right up there.
02:31 Because the quality of the football's been really good.
02:32 And we've had good and bad, but just a really good...
02:38 When we go forward, we look like a really entertaining team.
02:41 And I've always loved wingers, and we've played with wingers quite a bit this year.
02:45 Cerruller and Forster and that, and it's just been brilliant.
02:48 He's got a good record and gets down there.
02:50 I love that style of play where you get it out wide and knock it in the box and see what
02:52 happens.
02:53 I can't believe what a great season we've had.
03:01 Players and the management have done really, really good.
03:04 Really excited.
03:05 We can't wait to get here on Monday.
03:08 After last season, obviously, the beginning of the season, the expectations were quite
03:11 low.
03:12 What kind of job has Scott Lindsay and the players done this year?
03:14 Amazing.
03:15 I never, ever thought we'd be in this position.
03:16 I thought everybody would be fighting to stay up, and it's just turned it around.
03:21 And fantastic what we've done.
03:22 Great achievement.
03:23 And can they get to Wembley?
03:24 Of course they can.
03:25 We're going to win it as well.
03:26 You've got your ticket for the MK Dolls game.
03:27 How excited are you for that game?
03:28 Very excited.
03:29 Very excited.
03:30 This is untrodden territory for Cordy, and we're going to tread it brilliantly.
03:38 Did you expect them to do as well as they have this year?
03:40 Of course not.
03:41 I would have settled like everybody else, I suspect, for mid-table.
03:44 I would have been even higher, lower end.
03:46 But no, Scott's done a fantastic job, and the boys have responded pretty well.
03:54 The guys he's got from our league have really shown their mettle.
03:58 Very pleased.
03:59 Excellent.
04:00 And realistically, can they get to Wembley?
04:02 Of course they can.
04:03 Of course they can.
04:04 We've beaten MK Dolls before.
04:06 We know what we can do away from home.
04:07 So going up their place is not going to hold any fears for us.
04:12 And listen, if we get to Wembley and end up playing Donny, then it'll be a good time
04:14 to beat them for the first time, won't it?
04:17 Morning.
04:18 For many, many years, actually, my father-in-law played for Crawley and the two brothers, so
04:22 I've been a fan for many years.
04:24 Down in West Green as well.
04:26 So a long, long time.
04:27 So you've come here today to get your ticket for the MK Dolls game.
04:30 How excited for that game are you?
04:32 Absolutely.
04:33 We've had a great season, and we're pretty good at home, but also we're very good away.
04:40 So if we get a result here, I'm sure we can go to MK Dolls and get a result.
04:44 Yeah, so you're confident they can get to Wembley.
04:46 Roll on Wembley like 2011.
04:48 Did you ever imagine when you started to work, Crawley, that you'd see them at Wembley?
04:53 I went to Man United, and there was 9,000 fans.
04:56 It's funny how it turned out, isn't it, when there's a big match on.
04:59 I wish they'd come more often.
05:01 It's been fantastic.
05:02 If you look back where we were last year, my God, we were like that, biting our nails.
05:08 This season is just unbelievable.
05:11 You've enjoyed the football they've played.
05:12 A great team as well, and a great manager, obviously.
05:15 Hi, I'm Kevin Aylon.
05:18 I've been a Crawley season decal for three years.
05:25 This season has just gone beyond all expectations, after the absolute storm last year.
05:32 Yeah, it was quite different last year, wasn't it?
05:34 It was quite different last year.
05:35 But it's been great.
05:36 I've been to more away games this season as well.
05:38 I went to the awards ceremony on Sunday night, which was good.
05:42 Yeah, it was a good night, wasn't it?
05:43 It's good to see everything.
05:44 It's been so positive this year.
05:47 It's been so different.
05:48 It's just been a great feeling.
05:50 And how long have you queued up for your ticket today for the NK Dons?
05:52 I got here about a quarter past, 20 past one, something like that.
05:57 So it's not only 15 minutes.
06:00 I'm happier we're playing NK Dons than if we'd ended up with Doncaster.
06:10 Yeah.
06:11 But yeah, I mean, we beat them here early in the season.
06:15 We lost by the same score at their place, but by all accounts, we had much better of
06:19 the play in that game.
06:20 So, yeah.
06:21 Why not?
06:22 We could just go for it.
06:23 We're here at this point, so we might as well go for it full pelt.
06:27 Aim for Wembley and then aim for League One next year.
06:33 And what would it mean to you to actually go to Wembley and watch Crawley Town play?
06:36 It would be amazing.
06:39 Obviously, Crawley, I've never been to Wembley before.
06:41 I've not been to the new Wembley's World of Football game.
06:44 I've seen all the American football games there, but I've not been to Wembley for a
06:49 football game since it was the old Wembley.
06:51 So that would be an experience.
06:55 Hopefully get there and bust in.
06:57 More coaches than there were in the Man United.
07:01 And just a word about Scott and the players.
07:03 What an amazing job they've done this year.
07:04 It has.
07:05 It's just been out of this world.
07:09 It's been, yeah.
07:11 There was a lot of doom and gloom at the start of the season.
07:13 Everybody wrote us off.
07:15 I always get the pre-season magazine, so 442.
07:18 When Saturday comes, both of them have a dead bottom.
07:21 The bookies have their favourites go down.
07:23 And they've just excelled all the way.
07:25 They've brought in this group of players from all over the place.
07:28 A lot of them have come from lower leagues, very little league experience.
07:31 And they've just gone.
07:34 And they've been positive.
07:36 We've scored a lot more goals.
07:38 And it's just been such a much better feeling all season.
07:44 Very excited about Monday's game, I imagine.
07:46 Oh, yeah, absolutely.
07:47 Yeah, did you expect Crawley to get in the playoffs this year?
07:50 No.
07:51 Not the way they started off the season.
07:53 But they gradually improved as the season went on.
07:55 And, yeah, it was good.
07:57 The football this season has been a lot better than previous seasons, that's for sure.
