Man with sword arrested as police and public attacked in ‘critical incident’

Hainault tube station in Ilford, Essex, has been shut and a critical incident has been declared after reports several people were stabbed.

A man has been arrested, the Metropolitan Police said.

In a statement, the force said: “We were called shortly before 7am to reports of a vehicle being driven into a house in the Thurlow Gardens area. There were reports people have been stabbed.
