00:00I'm Alyssa Roland of Sports Illustrated here with Jill Painter-Lopez.
00:07Jill, Lakers coach Frank Vogel recently went on a spectrum sports night.
00:13What has the night been like for him since the NBA season broke down?
00:21One of the things he said, Melissa, was that he's been able to spend some time with his
00:25family, certainly practicing social distancing, but he didn't get an all-star break, of course,
00:30let's remember, because he was coaching.
00:31So he's gotten in some good time with his family.
00:34And then the other thing he's doing is watching a lot of film.
00:37Now, while we are all anticipating the restart of the NBA season, he's planning for it.
00:42Of course, that's what coaches and players have to do.
00:45So he's watching a lot of film.
00:46And one of the things I liked was sort of that positive outlook and mental outlook.
00:51He said, hey, I can watch all of the games on Apple TV of our possible playoff opponents.
00:56So another thing he was looking at was the offensive schemes, the defensive schemes.
01:01He said he wanted to make sure the Lakers pick up where they left off.
01:04And obviously, as the top seed in the Western Conference, they were playing very, very well
01:08when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
01:12But he said another thing about him is he can watch games through their entirety.
01:17Most of the time, he can watch games or one game between games.
01:26So he has a lot of time to watch games freely and sit back.
01:29And so he's really been able to enjoy that.
01:31But again, I like the fact that he's saying, hey, I'm watching our possible playoff opponents
01:36as we all look to hopefully restart the NBA season.
01:40It's not going to be soon, but certainly we hope to do it at some point.
