00:00 I'm Jill Painter Lopez for Sports Illustrated here with another update from the I Promise
00:06 School, public school in Akron, Ohio, that was started by LeBron James.
00:10 Well, the kids recently before the pandemic got to go to the Akron Symphony and most of
00:15 them it was the first time.
00:17 So they sent LeBron a bunch of cute letters and the LeBron James Foundation posted some
00:22 of those letters.
00:24 Very heartwarming to see those.
00:26 And another thing that's very heartwarming and neat to see is the school is continually
00:31 progressing, adding programs.
00:33 You see they've just posted that they're hiring a Spanish teacher, they're hiring another
00:37 music teacher.
00:38 So very neat to see that they are not just resting on their laurels, they are doing all
00:41 sorts of different programs, different ways of learning and teaching the kids, many of
00:45 whom have behavioral issues.
00:48 But doing things like that, letting them have an opportunity to go to the symphony.
00:52 Again, always expanding their horizons and we think it's neat and we wonder if some other
00:57 public schools in Ohio or elsewhere may be following some of these programs as well because
01:02 it really seems like they're working.
